Todo el mundo sabe que Lando Calrissian no pelea. Se las arregla con su carisma. Con la suerte.
Los que saben que no es así están muertos.
Segundo tomo de esta serie, esta vez centrado en Lando Calrissian, aquel bribón que se acabó ganando nuestros corazones después de su más que estimable ayuda a la Rebelión destruyendo la segunda estrella de la muerte. Aquí tenemos dos historias, una centrada en el Lando entre el episodio IV y V, previo a su primera aparición en película, y otra que justo finaliza en los sucesos vistos en la peli Solo, una historia de star wars. Siendo así son un poco dispares, las comento un poquito por separado.
La primera historia cuenta con guión de Charles Soule y dibujo de Alex Maleev, nombres muy serios en el noveno arte. Soule es un hombre de la casa en esto de escribir para star wars, la trama que sigue es sencilla pero muy bien elaborada, con elementos vistos en comics anteriores, aunque si no pillas las referencias tampoco te pierdes. El dibujo es muy bueno, aunque Maleev tiene su estilo particular.
Esta historia es la que más me ha gustado de las dos, vemos al Lando que conocemos y queremos, vemos a su inseparable Lobot, y su forma de resolver la situación solo (casi) con su ingenio.
La segunda historia, llamada doble o nada, cuenta con guión de Rodney Barnes y dibujo de Paolo Villanelli. Aunque la historia es más compleja que la primera, se me hace menos interesante, la personalidad del joven Lando no me gustó nada en la peli y aquí tampoco. Sí me gusta su relación con el droide L3, y el carácter de este droide. Además vemos durante toda la historia el antiguo Halcón milenario, con la capsula de socorro aún implementada en la nave, y que a pesar de no ser el icónico es bastante chulo:

Second volume of this series, this time focused on Lando Calrissian, that rascal who ended up winning our hearts after his more than estimable help to the Rebellion by destroying the second death star. Here we have two stories, one focused on Lando between episodes IV and V, prior to his first appearance on film, and another that just ends in the events seen in the movie Solo, a Star Wars story. That being the case, they are a bit different in tone, I will comment on them a little separately.
The first story has a script by Charles Soule and drawing by Alex Maleev, very serious names in the ninth art. Soule is a man of the house when it comes to writing for Star Wars, the plot that follows is simple but very well crafted, with elements seen in previous comics, although if you don't get the references you won't get lost either. The drawing is very good, although Maleev has his own particular style.
This story is the one I liked the most of the two, we see the Lando that we know and love, we see his inseparable Lobot, and his way of resolving the situation only (almost) with his ingenuity.
The second story, called double or nothing, has a script by Rodney Barnes and drawing by Paolo Villanelli. Although the story is more complex than the first, I find it less interesting, I didn't like young Lando's personality at all in the movie and I don't like it here either. I do like his relationship with the droid L3, and the character of this droid. We also see throughout the story the old Millennium Falcon, with the rescue capsule still implemented in the ship, and despite not being the iconic one, it is quite cool:
To get into the world of bounty hunters and suppliers, this and the next volume, Welcome to the Star Wars universe!, Vol. 3: Han Solo & Chewbacca are very good.

Són dues històries recollides en un sol volum.
La primera ja l'havia llegit en el moment en què es va publicar als Estats Units, i em vam semblar fluixeta i que no aportava res.
La segona l'he arrossegat durant mesos, perquè és incomestible. Quina mandra d'escriptura. Quina poca gràcia estètica.
Sembla mentida que un dels personatges més carismàtics de la saga tingui aquesta adaptació mediocríssima al còmic que no li fa gens de justícia.
