Victoria, an American witch with a snarky cat named Simon, is sent to Ireland to learn more about magic. Shortly after she arrives, there's a murder and she is curious about which of the villagers might have a motive. The residents include not only witches, but shifters and a variety of others. The quirky and likable characters make this a fun paranormal mystery.

Victoria's Adventure . . .
Graduated from college, Victoria with her cat familiar, Simon, flew to Ireland for her to study magic. Apparently sending daughters back to the Old Country for their magical education was something of a tradition for American witches, and she was headed for Coven Meara. When their flight landed, they boarded a train from Dublin, with Simon complaining every moment of the entire journey. He most definitely did not like “change”. Disembarking at the last stop, no one was there to meet them so she sat down on a metal bench to wait. The driver Colin Doolan finally arrived, rolled down the window, and told her to put her bags in the “boot”, not offering to help. And the entire back of the van was stuffed with all kinds of items. She insisted Simon ride inside on her lap and not tossed in the back with all the junk. Then he drove her to the B&B. Abigail welcomed her and told her Maeve who runs the Coven greenhouse would be her teacher while Victoria was here since Victoria was a plant witch.
She met her “teacher” at the greenhouse. Maeve was an older lady who talked to her plants and acted like she didn’t notice Victoria. Maeve told her to talk and commune with the plants so they knew each other. Maeve took Victoria’s hand to touch a rosebush, then snapped at her when a bud flowered. She had her close her eyes and describe what she saw and she could envision some root rot and was told to heal it. It would take at least 2 days to get through checking all the plants – or maybe 2 months at the rate she was going! At the end of the day, Colin came by and she found out Maeve was his grandma.
But when a miserable man at the local pub, where they all went for dinner, falls over dead after accusing Colin of stealing his wife’s jewelry, Victoria finds herself thrown into a murder investigation. She had already been told that Sergeant Kinnerk, old as dust and prone to napping in his office, was useless in dealing with crime. Is Victory ready to tangle with a killer? Can she solve this murder and save Colin who had nothing to do with this crime? Or has she put her own life at risk? Grab this well-written, intriguing story and enjoy Victoria’s adventure… as long as she survives it!

Promising!
At the start, I was thinking, hey, this flows well, this is exciting! I loved how the coven is hidden. I felt the magic in the words. I’m giving 4 stars because it’s only just shy of 5, but I do want more, so it’s more of a 4+. Why not 5? Well, it did take some times for things to actually start happening. The pace was slow at the start. Yes, I realize a world needs to be built, characters developed etc. But I was ready for something to happen well before something actually happened. But let me say again, it was good! It’s very promising! And that end, that was great!!! Yes, I will be reading more by this author!

Not well liked, he had argued with Colin. When his wife dies the next day, Colin is arrested. Now Victoria has a new job, proving his innocence.

This was a strange book with odd characters and a meandering plot. Not going to read any more of this author's books.

This series has real potential, but I won't be reading the rest.
I like the premise - witch sent to live with a coven overseas for cultural exchange. The world seems well-crafted; I only wish the prose was as well-crafted.
After the first few apostrophes used to create plurals, I quit marking them. I noted only a couple of errors of case that were not dialog (I forgive them in dialog, though reluctantly, when they're believable.
Perhaps all this series really needs is a good copy editor.

Victoria is a plant witch and is sent to Ireland to learn from the coven there. She becomes involved in a murder there when her mentor's grandson is accused of murder. It turns out it's much more complicated than anyone thinks.
The small town magical vibes are awesome and there are lots of fun characters, cozy shops and different magical creatures. She also has a familiar named Simon who is looking out for her even when he doesn't seem to be.
It was really well done and I give it 5/5 stars.

A pleasant and confounding mystery
I am always thrilled to find a good story teller. The mechanics of writing should support the story rather than the story be used show case great writing. Tricia Tilde found a great mix. The main characters are enjoyable to get to know.
The story was a comfortable read. Curled up on a sunny window seat on a cold day would be perfect.

Take a trip to Ireland
I found the book to have everything I want . There is the lovely location, wonderful characters (some are real characters!), romance, comedy, magic, and learning how to become a green witch! The book is also well written, what more can I ask for.

Witching trip to Ireland!
On a trip to Ireland, Victoria, along with her cat familiar Simon, are there to learn new ways to be a successful witch. Within the first week, two deaths happen. Victoria and Simon are involved with the hunt for the killer.

Covert Curses
This was a fast paced story and full of surprises! You will enjoy finding out who were the good guys and who were the bad! Everything turned out great in the end for the good guys and the Cat was very entertaining as well!
