I was quite surprised by this series. I picked them up on a whim from a bargain bin somewhere, expecting a nice little nostalgic romp through Brittania, but nothing one could call great writing. But, as it turns out, this series is really good. Austen Andrews does a bang-up job portraying the world of the games as a compelling setting fraught with peril and intrigue, and populated with interesting and dangerous characters. I tore through these three books pretty quickly, and although the ending was satisfying, I was disappointed there wasn't more.

If you're at all a fan of the Ultima games, or even if you aren't, this series will lead you on a bold adventure that you won't regret.

Teknokrat Savaşı ilk oyunu 1981 yılında çıkmış olan fakat 1997′de piyasaya çıkan Ultima Online’a kadar Türkiye'de tanınmayan oyunun geçtiği dünya göz önüne alınarak yazıldı. İnternet kafelere kablonet geldikten sonra Türkiye'de de fırtına koparmış olan Ultima Online oyunu sayesinde tanıştığım ve diğer versiyonlarını da araştırıp bulduğum oyun serisinin kitaplarını nasıl keşfettiğime gelirsek, Kadıköy sahaflarının tozlarını içime çekerken bir kitap sepetinin içinde görüp, nostalji olur diye 3 TL'ye aldığım birinci kitabı hızlıca bitirip sevgili D&R'ın stoklarını kuruturcasına diğer iki kitabı da aldım. Oturdum bir de yazı yazdım. :)

Steampunk, courtesans, magic swords, wizard cat people, lizard people, death, politics, plot twists and silly idealism. What's not to like?
