Emily 😭😭 this series is so good and it’s amazing to watch not only Jade and Malachi’s journey, but your own.

Loved this book so freaking much.

I am so so sad it’s over.

I didn’t cry in the gym you did….I absolutely adored this series and as much as I am devastated that it is over Emily did Mal and Jade justice.

I was planning to write a long review.

But I guess this'll have to do.

I still love how much Jade and Malachi love and care for each other

I love how Jade grew into her potential and how Malachi was still there to pull her out of the darkness

If this book ended differently, I would've killed. Quite literally

I love how we see Esther isn't actually the horrible person we once thought she was. And I also love how the Prince's relationship grew.

How all remaining brothers have come to love and respect Jade and I'm happy they all have the peace they deserve

I finished the Fae of Rewyth series and decided to give an overall review here.
I gave the series a solid 4, it isn't my favorite series of all times, but I did enjoy it a lot. This is the perfect series for any romantasy fan since it has everything - enemies to lovers, fated mates, found family, magic, fae, witches. It is a YA series so don't expect any spice. The books are all on the shorter side and they are fast-paced. You won't regret if you give the series a try, Emily Blackwood know how to write a romantasy 🤍

Omg this book drags!! 80% of the book drags with not much happening and then the last bit so much happens so fast it's like whiplash. I knew from the get go of the series that Ester was going to sacrifice herself somehow and that's exactly what happens. I know it's a YA book but Jade and Mal are cock blocked every time they try to get close. It's not even a closed door thing, it's a never happens thing. Jade is supposed to keep the balance but she makes herself judge, jury, and executioner whenever someone dares to speak up against her. She is also the most powerful person in the realm but a group of rebels over power her, Mal, and their entire fae group like it was nothing. Okay then. Ending did not deliver and seriously needed an epilogue.

I actually really enjoyed this series! At first they weren’t the best books but I enjoyed the characters and the idea of the story. The last 2-3 books especially were much better and I loved the storyline. The last books were filled with conflicts and plot twists and the ending was just right in my opinion. It wasn’t too rushed like I felt the first 2 books were. Overall if you are looking for a book that reminds you of ACOTAR I would definitely recommend this series. There are a lot of similarities that I think some people may dislike and think it’s stealing from ACOTAR but as someone who was dying to get more of ACOTAR I enjoyed the similarities.

I only finished this series because I was so far in. First two books are great but could’ve ended as a trilogy. Just felt the story was too stretched out for own taste. Additionally ngl I was expecting some spice and there was basically none so that was a let down.

end of a series

This wrapped up the series quite nicely. Answered every plot question. I honestly am quite satisfied with how Emily ended this series.

ALMOST SPOOKED ME AT THE END OH MY GOSH I THOUGHT yk what im not even gna think abt it
this was imo a very unnecasry addition to the series, the bad guy had a silly motive (not saying itself is actually silly obviously losing someone can cause sm hurt but for a series like this its like girl why?)
the first half of the book was like, day in the life of malachi and jade, like it wasnt rlly anything important, enjoyable for sure for ppl who rlly like them i rlly like them.

OK NOW OVERALL OPINION ON THE SERIES

I LOVVVVEEE the lenght of the books it made it so much easier for me to finish quickly, there isnt a lot for world building bcuz the world building was done as we read ykwim? like it wasnt smth that was stressing me out it was very straight forward. easy read.

i dont...think...killing people for again im using the word silly in comparison to a fantasy world, i dont think killing ppl for silly mistakes shows much "power"
like every time someone said smth dumb jade or mal wld js knock em out and be like praising eachother for it, ig thats how they planned on keeping peace, just KILL ur problems instead of resolving, and i think his obsession was a bit much with her, but ALL COMPLAINTS ASIDE,

I GOT LOST IN THIS SERIES FOR A GOOD LIKE 2-4 DAYS OK I READ IT, IT WAS GOOD, I LIKED THEM, ENJOYED THE PLOT, LOVE EREBUS HONESTLY HE WAS A BIG HEAR ME OUT OK, LIKE IK WE WERE SUPPOSED TO FALL IN LOVE WITH MALACHI BUT I DIDNT HES MID HES BASIC HES THEREEE....BUT EREBUS SERVED HIS 3 MINUTES OF SCREEN TIME like if she ever made a book series on js the saints and i got more erebus content i would be very happy.

anyways overall like 8.5/10 series i enjoyed this ate it up.

In school, we’d always have to answer questions with short answers and instead we’d write just a few words. This series felt like that. Everything could be expanded more to create more in depth characters and world building. The overall series was enjoyable, but left wanting more.

This book has some good foreshadowing and a couple plot twists.

This whole series has had me hooked, definitely had its ups and downs but book 5 was insane, especially towards the end. I don’t know if I want to cry or scream or what after this but it was the ending that we needed

I've reached the end of the Fae of Rewyth series, and I have to say that this is probably one of the most quintessential examples of a 3 star series for me. I don't think the series is bad by any means (if I was bad, I wouldn't have read all five books) and I do think it's an enjoyable read but I also think it's just perfectly average for a fantasy series. There is nothing about this series that particularly stands out or sets it apart from other fantasy series I've read, but I appreciate that it is pretty consistent. From start to finish, I would have to say that all the books are really fast-paced, easy to read, and relatively short for a fantasy series. This whole series is five books, and it took me less than a week to read them all, and I was reading other books at the same time as well. I feel like this is the perfect series to read if you just want to read something to pass the time but don't really care too much about getting overly invested in the characters or the story. I do kind of wish that I had grown to love Jade and Malachi a bit more over the course of the five books but I just did get that sort of attachment that I tend to feel when it comes to characters and books that I really love. I'm not really sure how satisfied I am with the overall ending of the series. There are definitely things that the author could have improved upon and I feel like one thing that I wish the author spent a little more time on was the development of the relationship between some of the characters outside of Jade and Malachi. I feel like the author told the readers that some of the characters were close or grew closer together but didn't really show it on the page. I also feel like Malachi's brothers were underutilized in the series, and I wish they would have had a big role in the overall series. I feel like the author also tried to add more ideas in this book but because it was the last book in the series as well as a relatively short book, I don't think all of the ideas were executed well. I feel like some plot points were skimmed over, and I feel like I just wanted a bit more out of the end of the series. I am glad that at least Malachi and Jade got a happy ending after everything they went through over the course of five books. I have to say that overall, this was a super quick series to read, and although it definitely wasn't my favorite, I don't regret reading it. I probably won't be rereading this one, but it wasn't too bad.

You guys! I’m so mad!! This book series really kept me on my toes wanting more. This last book was sooooooo rushed. I almost never complain about books, but this one…. Sheesh made me so mad at the end. I guess I’m glad for HEA but dang, that was anticlimactic.

Tropes:
Touch him/her and die
Orig enemies to lovers
Fae/human-saint

Like 3.75.
Series as a whole good, not amazing but easy to read. Theres good characters and relationship building so you actually care when something bad happens. The ending was very abrupt, all wrapped up but felt too quick. Good fight/battle scenes, next to no spice just build up.

That ending... No no. I need more please. I feel like he should have died. I enjoy ending that make me feel very strong emotions and I feel his death would be a perfect way to end. But, this series was amazing. They were very easy reads and I sped through this whole series. It was a nice to read while taking homework breaks.

This book was so boring, literally nothing happens and everything this book goes by defeats the purpose of what the FMC does.
Okay so every time a new person comes into the story and they start acting like an enemy I’m like “YES FINALLY a challenge, drammmaa” nope they just kill them in the next chapter like come onnnn please can we just have something?!!!
You would think with someone having all the power in the world there would be tons of enemies would go after her but nope it’s all sunshine and rainbows. SPEAKING of sunshine and rainbows god everyone is so trusting in this book and the worse part is as I’m waiting for some backstabbing, IT DOESNT HAPEN like this is so not realistic.
AGAIN a person with all the power in the world you would think that there would be a lot of DRAMMMAAAA 😒.
With the person who has all the powers in the world that would be our FMC, Jade as she carries all of the saints powers who once walked on land, when the saints left the land they removed all magic in those lands. Now she is declared as the “Peacemaker” and she is destined to “Sacrifice” herself to restore the magic back to whomever she choses to have the magic, fae or the witches. Do I have all that right?
Well my first thought is “Hmmm restoring all magic back is calling for greedy people to have power back. What makes it seem like thats a good idea? But they are acting like it’s a great idea”
so can someone explain to me that one???????
Speaking of power!! Jade, good ol Jade. The minute she receives her powers from all of the saints she abuses it and just lollygags like “I’m the most powerful being, no one can take me down, if someone defies me I’m going to kill them” and she does, to every single one who tries to kill her which made me so annoyed at a point I was hoping someone actually did something to actually put her down to reality to really see if she was a bad b 🙄🙄
which FINALLY someone did it. About 68% a way through a group of rebels had someone/something to suppress everyone’s magic and of course they all can’t do anything and start freaking out because they don’t have their magic anymore (Always relying on the magic, you have weapons right? And lovely Jade is a damsel in distress. YEAH YOU GOT NOTHING TO SAY, little damsel in distress)
anyways so Jade gets kidnapped. yaaaaay alright things are getting interesting!!! Now let’s not ruin it! And HUGE PLOT TWIST SO IM LIKE “Ohhhhh okay it’s getting interesting!!!!”
Also Mal and Jade, are too obsessed with each other. And it wasn’t even the good stuff too 🌶️
Can I read anything other than those too? Maybe side characters development? We never got that…. Drama, comedy bickering? We got some of it but of course Mal and Jade had to cut right in the middle of it.
All in all ending was good until it got predictable because at this point I know the Authors writing and she’s not going to kill anybody off 🤷‍♀️

I read this entire series in a few days. These books are quite short and I feel like it could have been condensed into a duology or a trilogy at most 🥰

I’m doing this review for the entire series because so read through it all so quick.

Overall it was okay! I wasn’t wowed and I wasn’t insanely disappointed either 😊

I liked the overall concept of the series and I love a morally grey FMC with devastating powers however throughout the whole series, there were a few things I wasn’t the biggest fan of…

The FMC got abit too obsessed with Malachi in my opinion. Everything was for him or the world had to burn. She just didn’t feel like a queen if that makes sense. Their kingdom should be a huge priority but it never really felt like it. Personally they both could have died at the end and I think that ending might have been better due to the characters.

There were quite a lot of lovey speeches between the MCs and some of these threw me off by being unrealistic or unnecessary 🤷🏼‍♀️

Also the humans got nothing. She was a human and a lot of the book focuses on how the humans are mistreated and in poverty but then we didn’t really see a massive improvement on that 😥

I’m really torn here. Still thinking about this ending. It wasn’t satisfying enough for me. I struggled through the whole series about whether I wanted a happy ending or not for the two main characters and I still didn’t know finishing this series. What I can say is I didn’t want that ending… it just felt like a cop out. I thought the author was committing to one ending, but then it 180ed and everything was all peachy keen again. It just feels like the ending didn’t fit the book. I don’t know why. I debated between 4 stars and 3.5 for the ending alone. But ending up giving it 4 stars because overall the story and the plot had me bought in and reading everyday-wanting to know what was next. It’s a good romantasy series that falls in the PG category. This series was a nice palette cleanser after some of the heavy fantasy series I have read of as late. It did get me out of my reading slump- quick reads with the storyline being as fast paced as it was, made for an enjoyable read overall. Would I still recommend reading? Yes ! 🙂

This whole idea of Jade being a peacemaker? Joke. The saints? A joke. Hauling all their power into this woman whose solution to every problem is basically just “kill them”? Come the eff on. I can’t.

I’m not going to bother putting my thoughts together nicely. Here are some notes I jotted down throughout this series:

•This is such a disappointment.

•Is Jade’s whole personally whining?

•What is the point of Mal’s brothers? I don’t even know one from the other. One of them died and is probably a twin? But like. Other than that they’re just names on a page.

•WHY IS THIS SO SLOW

•I just don’t care anymore.

•Man, this is a mess.. I don’t even think this series was planned out. I feel like she just made it up as she went, and this is the chaos we were left with.

•Why don’t you just kill them, Jade? Oh. Yup. Good job. Ugh.

•This absolutely did not need to be 5 books. 2 max. MAX.

This is 2 stars ONLY because I read the entire thing. It wouldn’t be fair to rate it any lower. BUT. This is the LOW END of two stars.

If I have to read “peacemaker” one more time I’m going to loose it.

This whole series honestly sucks and did not need to be 5 books long. It felt like the author had no idea where it was going and just kept throwing shit at the wall and seeing what stuck.

The whole plot drags and it feels like 80% of what the characters go through is useless in the end. Also who the hell is Ky and why did he become insanely important in the last 80ish pages but get zero page time?

Jade’s entire plan for “peace” is kill now, ask questions later. Which bites her and everyone in the ass way to many times. Fun fact: if you make your main character insanely over powered they instantly become uninteresting because I no longer care. Oh no, someone’s threatening her? Well she can blink and they’re dead so it doesn’t even matter. So the author has to come up with an insanely underdeveloped idea to strip powers away to create any stakes or conflict. Which doesn’t work!

I regret everything and I’m never getting the time I spent reading this shit back.

And like that another series is done. This wasn’t too bad of a series. It was enjoyable and I loved the different relationships and characters that came out of it. I feel like in the long run this series did not have much of a turn around. I feel like it was lacking are larger story line but to have a break from the more complex reads, it was really nice. I loved the authors take on the main characters Jade and Mal and how they were always there to protect each other. Adeline and Sel were also a nice addition and I wish we saw more about them. It seemed really cliche how sel ended up getting the power of protection, I feel like he could have gotten a cooler gift. I also feel like sacrificing Esther at the end was so quick, like suddenly she is there and suddenly she is giving up her life for Mal. It felt a bit similar to the Red Queen series. Overall it was a nice read but I wish that the plot line was more complex and not so quick to give every event and then move on.

It was genuinely quite difficult to finish this I fear.
I love romantasy but this just was not...
It felt like a random sorting of every plot twist and cliche you could possibly do and just for the sake of doing it. The thoughts and ideas are generally there, but the execution was just very rushed and not super effective.
The first half of the book had me in high hopes, but then everything went downhill when we tried to introduce a game changing plot twist with only 50 or so pages left. And they just kept coming.
Everything in this series has felt like a big pot of whatever will be the most convenient when it's the most convenient. Characters do whatever without reason and there seems to be no real rules to this world. Just new things being introduced to the plot whenever it's felt like. Nothing has consequences; nothing has limits. If it does, it won't in a few pages.
I don't know, I really don't like being harsh on books, but this was rough for me

It's a great conclusion to the series. I do think that Reyna's character went a little to the extreme in embracing her power and lost her humanity. Perhaps that was part of what we were supposed to take from the story, a reversal of roles between Mal and Reyna. She teaches him to embrace his humanity and in the end, his humanity grounds her when she is at risk of becoming a heartless monster. Ultimately, I was left feeling that she became a mindless automaton. Don't get me wrong, the emotions are there, Blackwood gives you a good sense of what Reyna should be feeling but she doesn't act as though she's feeling them. I cringed at some of the things she did and genuinely felt bad for Mal when she forced him to bow to her, although he was more than willing. I am still in love with Mal and his transformation but he certainly lost some of his ferocity when Reyna became more powerful than him.

I couldn’t finish this book, even though it was last in the series. The last book was short, but somehow seemed dragged out without a lot of detail? I started getting the feeling in this one as well. So much of this series feels like it was rushed after the second book without developing characters, finishing up sub-plots just to finish them up, and lack of world development.
I can’t help but feel like this wanted to be ACOTAR, without it being ACOTAR. If plot and character development were better defined, I feel like this series could have been a great one. It unfortunately lacked in a lot of places and I couldn’t read it any further. I couldn’t pick up and decided to DNF after a few attempts at picking it up to finish it.

Some spoilers ahead.

I forced myself to finish this series because I needed to know how it ended and it was total crap.

They're going kingdom to kingdom demanding to be bowed down to or offering death. As if they're owed it. She is supposed to be a peacekeeper and I feel like that's the absolute opposite of what should happen.

Jade is extremely kill happy, again not very peacemaker like. She only realizes what her actions mean when she kills a teenager without care. Malachi is over here egging her on in some instances and them shaking his head at her in others.

They're the worst separate and together. No true character growth and everything that mattered before didn't in the end.

What was the point of Esther and her secrets? The humans in Fearford? Of any of this?

2.5⭐️Where do I start.. this series was not what TikTok raved about. It was poorly executed and could have been 2-3 books at most if well written. I’m not trying to be an a-hole but it just dragged on and on. I wish the story ended better, I wish her sister had not died because I think she was having cute setup moments with Adonis but she was killed off for such a stupid reason if not no reason at all (in my opinion). How is it that a powerful and well organized rebellion was going on and no one knew? They are fae and didn’t hear the rebels surround them?? Also, what happens now with Dragon? Sadie? ADONIS?? This series had so much potential but fell through and landed in the basement. Malachi and Jade deserve a better happy ending than simply what was written.

So glad I pushed through this series. The first book worried me that the rest of the series would be majorly underdeveloped, but as I progressed through each book of the series the writing got better.
This last book was so much better than I expected.
I'd say, though, that the scenes toward the end with the rebels could've been more developed. It was like one thing happened. Then, that was over, and onto the next event. This made it feel a bit rushed, unlike the previous book.
I did love the ending. I love a good sappy ending. Malachi and Jade were meant to be opposites, but they ended up being made for one another. What a good play on their characters.
AND Dragon, I saw that coming from a mile away, but it was such good humor and a great twist to how it all played out!
