Nice setup issue written by the granddaughter of fantasy artist great Frank Frazetta, Sara Frazetta, and co-writer Bob Freeman with art by Alberto Locatelli.
Vampi attends the last Will and testament reading of nemesis Baldassarre Fechin after meeting with artist Frank Frazetta with her assistant Hattie.
Vampi meets young girl Evie and her father Randall at the reading and later saves Evie’s life from a female vampire attack only to find out that Randall is a werewolf.

This was a cool story. The artwork sort of fits, but is different and interesting. I love that this goes back to the roots in a way Vampirella has been lacking. The gothic, classic monster within and without, darker style, rather than the Scooby stuff and the Christopher Priest sarcastic-therapist-and-a-million-different-side-characters mess. Hopefully the writing gets less dreamy and poetic and more exciting.

The writing is terrible - and I don't hold most of these comic books to any standards at all... I dnf #2. I'm calling my comic shop to cancel my subscription. Nice try though.
