Tracy Solheim writes books with shirtless men on the cover. Some of them are actually best-sellers. The books, not the men. When she's not writing, she's practicing her curling. . . bottles of wine, that is. She's been known to cook dinner but no more than two nights in a row. Most days, she'd rather be reading, which to her is just necessary research. She lives in the suburbs of Atlanta with her husband and a neurotic Labrador retriever. Her two adult children visit but not often enough. (See the note above about cooking.) Sign up for her newsletter at https://www.tracysolheim.com/ to see what she’s up to. This is my first time reading ( ARC COPY) this author and I’m amazingly hooked ! Her writing is captivating from the very beginning and has compelled me to turning every page, leading me to reach the end of this very slow burn , second chance amazing romance. Tray and Landon’s journey to finding their HEA have put them both on a very emotional rollercoaster ride, heartbreaking moments that have affected their lives and future relationships negatively. Deceit and misguided beliefs are also part of the mix that have kept them apart for ten years. Thankful, that they’ve both decided to follow their intuitive minds have led them back to each other where they truly belong. A very endearing emotionally felt story that will keep you glued, with very powerful characters that will remind you how powerful unconditional love is! A 5 ⭐️ and more reading!

I love to read second chance / the one who got away tropes, especially when it involves a significant amount of time between the before & now. I read this story in one go but then got distracted by a couple of Tracy’s backlist stories and forgot to review this one. LOL But here I am …

I can’t say this enough times, but Tracy’s stories make me happy. I’ve always said that how a story makes you feel while you read is one of the most important aspects of a story. I didn’t get frustrated or impatient with Trey & London at any point in this journey and believe me, that’s a feat to accomplish in a full-length story! Tracy has the skill to pull this off and she’s done it over and over again in my experience. I haven’t read every single story she’s ever penned, but close!

This sexy, slow-burn, emotional story was realistic in every way and also unfolded organically. Nothing felt over the top, not even the past of it all. Character development was on point and adults adulted perfectly <<< #winning lol

Trey and London’s journey to finding love in Catch & Release by Tracy Solheim, book three of her Milwaukee Growlers Football series is an heart-warming, roller coaster, second chance story. Trey Van Horn is QB1 for the Milwaukee Growlers and the best QB in the league. He has self-discipline and control along with strict rules about his regime when he's in season. When his owner tells him he is chairing the gala he's not too happy. London Headley is a PR guru working at the Westwood Agency. She is working toward the career she has always wanted, and for the past six years she has worked with the owner of the Growler's on the gala. In order to get the promotion she wants, she has to work with the one guy who broke her heart years ago. Ten years ago, Trey and London had a fling the summer before college that ended badly, thanks to someone sharing lies with Try about London. Working on the gala together doesn't make either of them happy. Trey and London fought against their love and thought they could keep things casual; being friends with benefits. Except, the more they are around each other, the more they want the other; struggling to stay away as the sizzling chemistry is still there.

Once Trey learns the truth about what really happened at the end of that summer, he realizes how much he missed out on. London has an abundance of compassion and does not judge. She wants someone who supports her dreams, picks her up when she falls, and loves her as she is. It is going to take some compromise before either of them will allow themselves to share the love between them.

A very endearing emotional story with steamy benefits that include a date to the hospital, a locked wine cellar encounter, Lake Michigan views and extra whipped cream along with wise friends, parents who also have life stories, and a second chance at love temptation, make this a great read and another chance to visit with favorite Growlers players too.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Disclaimer: I received this book at no cost from the publisher/author. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. I am leaving a voluntary review and all opinions are my own.

This book was an addictive football romance about the one that got away.

Tracy Solheim is a great storyteller. I was drawn into the story straight away with the easygoing writing style and the compelling storyline.

The characters were relatable and easy to root for. They were fleshed out and felt distinct with voices that stood apart. The character development was executed well. The secondary characters really brought everything together and gave the story depth.

The romance was a slow-burn second chance that felt very genuine. There were so many emotions involved and Solheim did a fantastic job of evoking them to great effect. Trey and London start out unhappy to be working with the other when their jobs push them together but their chemistry ends up stealing the show and making them think otherwise.

Overall, this was a winning second-chance sports romance that was entertaining and heartwarming. I will be on the frontlines for the next sports romance release from this author!

The flashbacks of London Headley and Trey Van Horn’s summer romance past are woven into their awkward present day meeting ten years later. Trey, the perfect and precise QB One, gives his best to the Milwaukee Growlers football team, while London, even with her PR and social media campaigns, has stayed firmly in the background with clients as friends. The famous and wealthy Van Horn family, woven together and apart by generations of bad luck with love, connects them even as they try to remain “friends with benefits”. Steamy benefits that include a date to the hospital, a locked wine cellar encounter, Lake Michigan views and extra whipped cream combine nicely. All of this together with wise friends, parents who have life stories too, and that “second chance at love” temptation, make this a great read and another chance to visit with favorite Growlers players too.
Reading a Tracy Solheim book is a mini vacation I love to take. Thank you for adding humor and real life messiness to love.

Milwaukee Growlers Football book 3

Trey Van Horn is QB1 for the Milwaukee Growlers and is the best QB in the league. He has self-discipline and control along with strict rules about when he's in season and when his owner tells him he is chairing the gala he's not too happy.

London Headley is a PR guru working at the Westwood Agency. She is working toward the career she has always wanted. For the last six years she has worked with the owner of the Growler's on the gala. But in order to get the promotion she wants, she has to work with the one guy who broke her heart years ago, Trey.

Trey and London are working on the gala together which doesn't make either of them happy. They have a past together and haven't seen each other in ten years after some miscommunication.

His life is turned upside down and the more he's around London the more he wants her. She is having a hard time staying away.
Can they find happiness together or will all the past issues keep them apart?

It’s been a decade since London has seen the man who broke her heart and now, she has no choice but for them to work together. He is the representative from the Growlers that she has been tasked to work with by the public relations company she works for so she will force her personal feelings aside and keep their relationship business only.

Trey is the quarterback for the Growlers who has a much different view on their past. He has no interest in working with London either, but he will do what is best for the team . The more time he spends with her the more he realizes the feelings between them are far than over especially when secrets about the past are revealed.

This is a heartwarming story about two people who have always belonged together who must overcome the pain of the past if they are to have a future together.

Wow what a beautiful love story! This is the story of Trey and London, they had a fling the summer before college that ended badly due to outside noise making Trey believe lies about London.
Trey never believed in love he thought his family was cursed so when someone told him a lie about London he was quick to believe it. He ran off to college without warning leaving her heartbroken with no idea why disappeared. Fast forward 10 years and the find themselves face to face and find out they will have to work together on a gala. Trey and London fought internally against their love and thought they could keep things casual. Well we all know how that ends!
I really enjoyed this book it was the first book I have read by this author but I will definitely be reading more!

This was my first book by this author and I really enjoyed it. I often find second chance/one that got away romances to be very hit or miss for me but I really enjoyed this one. I really liked how there wasn’t an overwhelming amount of flashbacks to when the couple were first together. The connection between the two main characters was obvious from the first moment they reconnect. I found the reason why the couple originally broke up and stayed apart to be very believable. Overall a solid 3.5 star read that I rounded up to a 4 star read.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book.

Trey and London first met when she was 18 and he was a bit older. They fell fast and hard for each other, but circumstances and misunderstandings ripped them apart. Catch and Release follows the story of how they reconnect and fall back in love with each other. Trey has become the most successful quarterback in the league and London's star is rising in the advertising/marketing world. Both think they don't have time for each other or the capacity to fall in love, but they were wrong. This book is well written and keeps you interested from start to finish. I really enjoyed it and give it an enthusiastic five stars.

A nice read!

A second-chance sports romance, this was written beautifully, it developed smoothly featuring two charming characters, plus a lot of friends and family that added loveliness to the whole mix.

I loved the steamy moments, how the anticipation was built and how beautiful Trey and London were together. Though I couldn't connect much with them the story was nice and great for a few hours read.

I got a copy of this in order to share my view on it.

This was my first book by Ms Solheim and it won’t be my last. I enjoyed the way that she writes and found that the characters of Trey and London were easy to try to figure out. Second chance romances can be a hit or miss with me. This one was enjoyable. My only complaint is the slow burn of their present relationship. It took quite awhile before either of them started to trust in their feelings for each other. I did enjoy Trey’s teammates and will look into their stories. To me that’s a sign of an author that I want to continue to read is that I want to read more of their work.

This is the third book in the Milwaukee Growlers series, and it is my favorite! Quarterback Trey Van Horn is all about football! His view of marriage is that it is a trap and an exercise in torture. Every season he has a new woman on his arm. He claims that he doesn’t break hearts – some women just want to change the game plan mid-relationship. However, that is until London Headley comes back into his life! Ten years ago, they spent a wonderful summer together and then she left. However, after all the time apart the sizzle is still there! As Trey learns about what really happened at the end of that summer, he realizes what he believed might have been a lie. London has an abundance of compassion and does not judge. She wants someone who supports her dreams, picks her up when she falls, and loves her as she is. Can they put the past behind them? Can he make her realize she really is the one who got away? Read this book about second chances to find out!

Really enjoyed this book. Trey was a hard character to like in the beginning because he was such hard a$&....very rigid & a little opinionated, but being around London really softened him up after he got over his take on their past. London was sweet but also very stubborn when it came to Trey, believing the worst of him & that she wasn’t worth his time or love all this time. I enjoyed how they were thrown together with the charity gala but also in London’s work. The reunion created drama & heat & major emotions that brought readers to the edge of their seat & kept them there throughout, waiting to see what happens between them as everyone but them could see the sparks flying when they were near each other. Definitely recommend. I read this book for an honest review.

Tracy Solheim's "Catch and Release" is a pure delight! It skillfully intertwines London and Trey's past romance into their present-day reunion. While Trey excels as the star quarterback for the Milwaukee Growlers, he fumbles in the game of love with London. London, a PR goddess, finds it tricky to spin their relationship positively. With a mix of family drama, witty teammates, and fantastic friends, the supporting cast adds a lot of humor to the story. This book is a wonderful mix of passion and sports making it a touchdown for readers.

With a name like Trey Van Horn in a book you can’t help but visualize this tall, good looking, rich, jock who always gets what he wants, in your head. Reading this book, Trey definitely lived up to his name. He is the star Quarterback for the Milwaukee Growlers, comes from a rich family and strict in so many ways. When a woman from his past popped up not only in his work life but also his personal life, all those rules he had set were about to go right out the door. Could he handle her being there again or would he let the past information & his parent’s failed marriages/relationships rule the way he continued his life.

London Headley was successful in so many ways in the PR business and the company Westwood Agency. Now that the Agency would be bought by a very well known company she knew she had to work harder, especially on one of that company’s biggest clients and the yearly Growler Gala. But what she had never imagined that she would be seeing her first love, the first boy to break her heart, in her life again, Trey. But there he was front and center being the Growler’s rep for the Gala. She also had thought she was completely over him, but once she saw him, all those teenage hormones came back full force. Now the question was if he would break her heart again as they became Friends with Benefits, or would he finally be ready to talk about why he truly hated commitment.

I have to say I had a hard time with this one the first few chapters. Now I’m not saying its not good, because it is and there is the chance that it could be because of everything going on right now in my life. These two characters definitely have a chemistry that is for sure, it was also great that characters from other books made their appearances as well. Plus the great thing is you don’t have to read other books in the series, as each one has its own story, while also being intertwined.

London Headley is on the cusp of having everything she's ever wanted in the career side of her life... but there is just one tiny little thing (well quite large actually) standing in her way... the ex that broke her heart. But it's nothing she can't handle, she'll just focus on her work and act like his presence doesn't affect her at all...well mostly anyway.

Catch and Release is a wonderfully penned story of second chances, forgiveness and finding that once in a lifetime kind of love. London and Trey had love once, but life got in the way and they went their separate ways... not happily of course. London learned her lesson from dealing with a man like Trey and has vowed to keep her distance from the likes of him or anyone who dares to be like him. But what she didn't count on was running into him again, sure it's easy to hate an old flame and make promises to yourself when he's miles away... but when he's standing in front of you now that's a different story.

This second chance reunion story brought smiles, laughs, swoons, and heart squeezing moments I'm still feeling the day after finishing it. I loved these characters, I had to give London props for trying to keep her distance, but Trey was a tough competitor, he knew he screwed up the first go around and he was determined to make their reunion count, in a really good way. I loved watching him work his way back into her good graces, London put a good fight and put him through the paces and really made him work for her time and love... it was fun to see him grovel. If you are a sports romance lover than I have no doubt you will enjoy what you find between the pages here, these two have quite the entertaining and heartfelt story to tell! Highly recommend!

This one is definitely a slow burn second-chance romance. You have to be prepared that it takes pretty much half of the book before London stops actively pushing Trey away. Granted, she has a lot of reasons not to trust him. Or any man for that matter. But there is a lot of thinking about the past and her resisting any attraction that she feels for him, which not everyone enjoys.

Speaking of London, I do wonder a little bit about what changes her mind. She has good reason not to get involved with Trey again, and does a pretty good job of it, but things change and I’m not sure it was enough. I think that there needed to be some resolution on their past earlier, at least I would have wanted it in her situation. But then again he’s awfully, persuasively, seriously sexy on lots of levels.

Because while Trey does pursue London, he does it in a very respectful manner. He pushes her but he never crosses that boundary, respecting her wishes and letting her know it’s her choice. He’s not above a little seduction but he’s not icky about it.

You could see the ending coming a mile away but that doesn’t stop it from being any less satisfying. I appreciate that Solheim saw it through and didn’t take an easier way out. I also liked the whos, whats, and wheres of the big moment at the end. A little bit different and a good way to get to that HEA I wanted for them.

I’ve only read a couple of Solheim books (one being Double Dog Dare, another Milwaukee Growlers story), both of which I really enjoyed. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing what else she has to bring us.

Absolutely loved this entire series. Tracy Solheim does an excellent job and I have loved her sports romance books. Books are very well written, have a great storyline and the romance you come to expect from her. I loved the angst between the two main characters and everything they had to overcome to be together again.

This book follows Trey, the quarterback for the Milwaukee Growlers. Trey doesn't believe in love, especially not for the Van Horn men. His parents are divorced and his grandpa lost the love of his life young. Trey thought he had found love when he was young but it turns out he was duped...or so he thought. His focus is 100% on football and nothing can interfere with it. Ten years later he comes face to face with the one who got away. London has been Milwaukee for years working in advertising and has never crossed paths with Trey until now. She fell in love with Trey young but never understood why he walked away with no explanation. The animosity between the two is palpable from the get go. London wants nothing to do with him but when one of her big campaigns hinges on him being the spokesperson, she doesn't have much choice. She just needs to get through that and then she is moving to Chicago for her big break. Trey, on the other hand, his beginning to see he may have been wrong ten years ago. He wants another chance with London but still doesn't want to admit he is in love with her. When he finds out she is moving to Chicago, he begins to realize some cold hard truths about himself. London thought she wanted the fairy tale dream but is it worth leaving her friends and everything she knows behind.

Overall a great romantic read. I love sports romance and this book and the whole series is a must for me. Would definitely recommend.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange of an honest review. I´m a big fan of the series and the author and was really looking forward to reading this latest installment. It didn’t disappoint! I just couldn’t put it down and!
Trey Van Horn is the uber controlled and cerebral MVP quarterback for the Milwaukee Growlers, and he praises himself for never letting anything interfere with his football success. After receiving backlash in the media from a scorned ex-lover, his boss enters the scene and mandates him to chair a charity gala as damage control. The PR executive responsible for the event’s past success is London Headley, the woman whose heart he broke 10 years ago and the only one who made him believe love was possible for a Van Horn.
Both carry heavy parental baggage who made them jaded towards love, but can´t seem to keep away from each other.
There are many sub-plots, which at first made me fear an overload of chopped scenes, but the author developed them all beautifully. Flashback scenes are woven seamlessly into the present narrative, peeling off layers of the characters.
The characters from previous installments are back and the interactions between Trey and Lilly, Dax and Andi’s baby, is the cutest thing.
This is a beautifully written slow burn, second chance sport romance, with balanced doses of heat, sweetness and laugh. Can’t wait for the author’s next books.

I have to agree with others and say that Tracy Solheim’s books always make me happy. CATCH AND RELEASE is the third book in her Milwaukee Growlers football series (but it can stand alone!) and I was hooked from the first page. Trey and London are richly developed, flawed characters who deserve a second chance with the one that felt like their forever person. A bizarre twist of fate and a lack of confidence in love had Trey walking away from London, shattering her heart. Ten years later, both are focused on their career, above all when their paths cross, again. Easier said than done, as their forced proximity while working together brings up old feelings, both love and hurt. Trey knows he messed up all those years ago, but he’s convinced his family is cursed when it comes to love. But are they really? Or is it just fear rearing its ugly head?
As usual, Solheim creates characters with depth that you forget they aren’t real people. The story will make you laugh, shed a tear, and, ultimately, walk away with happiness in your heart. Well, after you get over the disappointment of finishing the book.
Thank you to the publisher for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of the novel. All opinions are my own and freely given.

I don't believe Solheim has ever written a couple that I've pulled harder for, both individually and as a couple, than Trey and London. I loved their complex layers, their enemies-to-lovers, second-chance romance, the fiery chemistry that brought them back together, the emotional layers of their overlapping - sometimes complicated - family relationships, and the balancing of their career dreams with the risk of laying their hearts on the line. They took me on a perfectly paced emotional ride that bubbled with laugh-out-loud humor, included a few surprise twists, touched my heart with endearing moments, offered up some satisfying steam, and had me mopping up tears more than once. I've read their story twice. I have a feeling that it may become one of my go-to comfort reads in the future. These are characters - both primary and secondary - that I just can't get enough of.

If you like sports romance - or just well-written contemporary romance - with solid friendships, fun bromance, multi-layered nuanced characters, a satisfying amount of steam, and a heart-tugging happy ending, you can't go wrong with Tracy Solheim's Catch and Release.

Second chance love story ✅
A funny lovable kid ✅
Part of the story in a small town ✅
As usual Tracy Solheim’s books take you on a fun (a few laugh out loud moments) and a wonderful journey full of twists and highs and lows as you read Trey’s and London’s story. You don’t want it to end but you can’t wait to read what’s next. I love Trey’s and London’s story a true second chance story. You love them from 10 years ago through the misunderstandings that separated them then until now through the hurdles they go through to get their HEA. I love her characters which are lovable but full of flaws. I always love reading about her secondary characters which you will fall in love with many of them. Also, I enjoyed his relationship and his empathizing with her little brother. I enjoyed catching up with many characters from other books in the series but the way she writes them in you can read this book as a stand a lone without needing to read the other books. But you will want to once you read this book.

What happens in college, stays in college. Unless you get a second chance...unless you get a second chance at that love.
Trey has come a long way from the guy he was in college. He is a starting quarterback and a leader for his team. He does not let things shake him, that is until he has to start working with London. He thought London was going to be his end game in college but outside forces and stupidity allowed him to believe others over her.
London took her broken heart and rose above to become the PR & Social media for the Growlers. Trey is the last person she wants to work on especially a gala that will require a lot of time working together but alas she has no choice.
Try and London have to untangle the past to be able to sort out their future. Chemistry is NOT one of their issues but learning to trust one another, well that is a whole other story.
This was a fantastic addition to this series. I love how Tracy sucks you into the Growlers world and has you rooting for their HEA.

I love a good sports romance, and with the Travis and Taylor story everywhere, it's impossible not to be thinking about a football romance.

Enter this story, by an author I have read and enjoyed previously, and I had my football fix.

Trey and London knew one another when they were younger and that relationship ended badly. I didn't necessarily love how that was handled, but they were young and it felt reasonable enough for me to not give it much thought.

I liked that when they meet again, they are both professionals in their own right, have their own goals, and feel like characters who exist outside of the romance, which is something I really liked about this title.

The chemistry was strong, and I believed in their relationship. I also believed in the choices they made and believed they acted like real people would and not like people who acted in the way the author needed to tell the story, if that makes sense.

I enjoyed and recommend this title.

Slow-Burn, Second Chance Romance Set In Football Universe with Amazing Background Characters

This book was so much fun to read I couldn't not put it down. I got caught up in the drama, feelings and angst and began care about the outcomes for the main characters - the sign of a well written novel. I had also read the previous Growler's books and loved the cameos from those couples and their children. London and Trey were perfect for each other, but they needed to get past their own issues, their break-up (or ghosting), and open up to each other about their feelings. Watching that unfold plus their amazing chemistry (five red hot chili peppers!) made the book a delight. I am looking forward to the next book in the series as there are still several of Trey's teammates who have not yet found their HEA - Enjoy!

They were into a heavy "like" relationship 10 years ago. But he felt that he was cursed by his father's problem staying married. Also, complicating things - her mother married his father. He left her waiting, all night at a boathouse for him. Things are certainly not amicable when they are thrown together through their work.

Even though each was deeply affected by their previous relationship, neither wants to act on their feelings - until they can't resist anymore. They have a fantastic sexual relationship, but they have their emotions reined in. Or so they think. No one around them thinks that their relationship is casual.

This is a sexy book about a champion football quarterback and a woman who is successful in her career and she is only becoming even more successful. He thinks he cannot have a rewarding long term relationship and she hasn't found any man who is willing to put her first in his life. Loved the angst.

Catch and Release ~ Milwaukee Growlers Football Romance1 #3 by Tracy Solheim.
Blurb:
A second chance, enemies-to-lovers football romance.
Trey Van Horn, He’s the pro athlete everyone wants to be.
London Headley, She’s tired of being every guy’s doormat.

Catch and Release is the third book in this wonderful series from Tracy, which I have been following from the beginning, and each book keeps getting better and better.
This book has been written brilliantly, with wonderful characters that feel like family. I found this book easy to read and follow, the storyline to be believable and I felt like I was there too.
The chemistry between Trey and London is off the rocks, only they don't seem to see it themselves, Though they do get a little steamy in parts:)
The secondary characters are also brilliant and hopefully will get their own story someday.
I love reading books from authors I like, to be able to fall into the book straight away after a long break between their books.
I highly recommend this book to all. If I could give more than 5* then this book would have them.

Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Easy-to-read, Entertaining, Happily Ever After, Page-turner, Romantic, Realistic, Steamy, Sports Romance, Second Chance Romance, and Wonderful characters

This is the third book in the series. It's such a good second chance romance. Trey and London shared one unforgettable summer, but forces at work pulled these two apart. Now fate has given them a second chance at love when they are put back in each other's orbit. I love London's BBF Lucy. She is a hoot!! Lucy and London are friendship goals! Both London and Trey have to come to terms with their past if they have any shot at a future. Not gonna lie this book almost had the tears flowing a few times. This book is fun and light, but man it also pulls on the heartstrings and stirs the emotions too. I also enjoyed visiting with Trey's teammates to see them living their HEAs. That made me so happy. This is a really good book that sucks you in right from the beginning. You can tell right away that these have had feelings bubbling under the surface all these years. The epilogue was perfect and touched my heart.
