I just can't believe the high ratings on this book/s. The story, revenge thing was great, the humor was spot on. The abrupt end and having to buy another book was ridiculous. Then halfway through book 2, the Grammer and punctuation got so bad I wanted to throw my Kindle. It's like 2 different people were writing this book.

Fun and a little whacky.

Heroine's loser husband asks for a divorce so he can marry her pregnant sister. Heroine pines and whines she's lost her soulmate says okay.

The real H steps in and is a hunky, charming bad boy that wants to help her get revenge.

The author has a strange aversion to capitalizing, and it's a two parter which is disappointing.

It was a really cute story with all its twists and turns. It was more like a telenovela with all of the family members getting involved and having an opinion. Granny’s a trip. It was well written and the characters interesting.

The problem with reading these e-stories off a reading app is that the chapters are a little too short with too many breaks. So you can’t enjoy it as much as you would with a regular book.

But otherwise it’s a good story. I just wish we knew what happened to Sandy’s baby, Merlin and his parents at the end. An epilogue would have been helpful to tie up loose ends.

3.5 ⭐️ combined (book 1&2)

While this is marketed and sold as two books, it’s really only 1- book 2 even starts on chapter 41, right where book 1 left off, so it’s more like part 1 and part 2. Anyway, I digress.

✅ PLOT: The story itself I loved, it was fun and twisty and had an element of girl power that I appreciated. A super quick read that had me laughing out loud more than once. Highly entertaining and even though it’s marketed as like a “billionaire romance,” it wasn’t super far fetched or over the top (well, except for the date to New York City I guess.) There were some predictable moments but it wasn’t stale or flat.

✅CHARACTERS: I loved the characters. They were very well written. Granny is my spirit animal. The banter and the chemistry between the friends AND the lovers was very well done for the most part. The repetitive failure to communicate in part 2 though was annoying and frustrating and felt like it was just thrown in there to enhance page count. Even the characters I hated (sandy is batshit crazy) I loved. I’m a sucker for character growth and I feel like Merlin was such a POS for the entire book and then at the end it was like he truly grew from the experience and wanted to be better.

✅SPICE: Im not a huge fan of super smutty spicy romance. While it’s clear there is A LOT of spicy moments happening throughout the book, it’s not super graphic or repetitive. Definitely more on the tame side but definitely not closed door.

❌WRITING: This book would definitely benefit from an editor! There are multiple instances of character names changing paragraph to paragraph (Terrie? Torrie? Unclear.) Also a lot of omissions and so many grammatical errors, extra or missing punctuation, by the end of part 2, there aren’t even spaces between sentences anymore! I also feel like it flip flopped between 1st 2nd and 3rd person. I got confused a couple of times because it went from “I” to “she” in the same sentence but was referring to the same person.
I also wish the writing style had been a little more descriptive. I couldn’t even tell you what Leisl looks like other than I think she has brown hair.

❌TRIGGERS: This book has elements of mental illness, sexual assault, and pregnancy traps (not the obvious one) and I don’t love the way any of them are depicted.

Ohhh I shouldn't love the thought of revenge as much as I do, but really, who DOESN'T? When it comes to being wronged, there's no way that a man, or a woman, wants to sit back and just turn the other cheek. Society may try to teach us to, but sometimes society gives in to the wrong sorts of thing!

I love all of Tatienne's books, but this is one of my favorites. While I found her on a reading app, I will just say that at some point, I need to get physical books for every one she has. I'll find them somewhere, someday!

Longer than it needed to be but I really enjoyed Leisl and Isaias love story. Isaias got to be the positive protector he deep down always was and Leisl learnt not to dim her light. Shame Janka and Elsie don’t get their own stories I would have liked to read them

Liesl x Isaia

This is one long story split into two books, therefore I will post this review and rating to both of these books.
Cus it’s not really two books but one ongoing story.

Okay. Genuinely?
I had so much fun reading this story.
It was so silly and over the top but so much fun and I had to laugh out loud sometimes bc of their banter.

Liesl gets cheated on by her husband Merlin. He slept with her sister Sandy over a couple of months and knocked her up.
His family demanded that he marries Sandy to give the kid a chance for a trust fund set up by his grandfather. In his will there is a stipulation that only kids that are born within a marriage will get access to a million dollar fund.

Liesl is heartbroken, gathers the information Merlin had on her computer and facilitates a deal with Isaia, Merlin’s arch nemesis.
And while Isaia gleefully accepts, Liesl and Merlin end up falling in love. Which pisses off not only Merlin and his family (they still think they have some sort of ownership over Liesl) but also her sister Sandy.
Sandy always wanted to get what Liesl had and hated Liesl’s guts.

Things escalate with Isaia pursuing a hostile takeover of their company, but also with Sandy’s delusions kicking into overdrive.
But at the end all is well, Sandy is in custody for attempting to murder Liesl (yes really), Liesl is pregnant and engaged to Isaia (all within 3-4 months of them dating), he sold his companies and bought a homestead for them to start their life together.

There are a few things I don’t like, for example Sandys mental condition … it is said that she was on medication before her pregnancy and that he has some kind of illness, but it is never specified and it is handled rather clumsily.
Her portrayal and how she behaved even in the upper echelon of their social functions (a gala to be specific) is just … so over the top and unrealistic.
She’s … just the ultimate cliché villain who manipulates and hooks up with a bunch of people.

And the way Isaia chose to leave whenever things got intense and had to sort out his own thoughts on his own before talking to Liesl — I think this happened three? Ish times? And by the end I was simply rolling my eyes.

Liesl has a lot of baggage and talks about it regularly, comparing Isaia to her ex husband which is kind of annoying but to be expected after this kind of earth shattering betrayal of her trust.

Also the names? Maybe it’s bc I’m German but to read the very German / Bavarian / Austrian sounding name Liesl on page in this setting made me almost giggle at times. (Oh and I genuinely thought Liesl and Elsie (one of Liesl’s best friends) were one and the same cus the names are so similar. I was so confused at the beginning xD

Hm one thing I thought was … idk … was Isaia mentioning that he was hit as a child as a disciplinary action. And when he learned Liesl was pregnant he made a comment about their kid seeing his Grandma hitting Isaia with her rolling pin for their kid to be scared and behave. All with a “we’re immigrants. hits exist” kinda attitude.

And … dude no.
I grew up with spankings as disciplinary option and I don’t wish it on anyone. And I dunno. I did not like how they glossed over it like it was nothing.
Fortunately it was only mentioned twice and I was able to push that thought aside.

But … I think that’s about it?

As I said I genuinely enjoyed this book. It made me smile almost all the way through. I liked Isaia’s crude jokes and the way he breaks the eyes. I loved their chemistry and how no bullshit they were with each other.

I LOVED their families, especially Liesl’s Granny. Damn what a bold woman. Love her.
I mean their entire family construct was just lovely. I love big families and the teasing and bickering and the genuine love and care they hold for each other.

And OH MY GOD having Fred (Liesl’s Brother) be the first one to demolish Liesl’s old home? Delightful.

(Oh yeah, one of the things in the book was that Sandy wanted the house but it was Liesl’s as per her prenup. So Liesl sold it to Isaia who tore it down to build a park for the kids of the community)

Fred and the entire family was so supportive - except for Liesl’s mom but u know what? I kind of get it.
She was the only one who wanted to play nice and have the sisters reconcile, which is preposterous obviously, but I get where she was coming from.
Cus I think my mom would have struggled the same like she did. But I’m glad she came around — and that the text even mentioned that she got to therapy and learned to set boundaries with Sandy at the end.

I just thoroughly enjoyed myself.

I liked Isaia being passionate and having a drive to build their home. I love that, after her marriage, Liesl began to rebuild herself. She’s a valued artist and was forced to take a step back from it during her marriage. She was molded into kind of a stepford wife and Isaia helped her find her again.

Yeah and all that within like 4 months?
Ridiculous. Over the top. Dramatic. Silly. Funny.
My cheeks still hurt from smiling all the time.

So yeah. Good book.
It’s so OTT and silly but damn I had fun.

As with everyone else, I got sucked in when I saw a PPC ad and wouldn't pay $80 for a book. Heck, honestly even $5.99 is a bit much considering it literally ends in the middle of a sentence and to finish the damn story, I have to buy "part 2" for another $5.99 so guess I'm the sucker.

3.5 maybe for pure entertainment value

I can tell this was probably a Wattpad or PPC book first at one point. The editing, run on sentences, capitalization and grammar are pretty bad. I pushed through because honestly, it was entertaining AF.

Essentially, wife Liesl is waiting at home for her rich husband, Merlin whom she adores to come home. Merlin comes home late, walks in and tells her to meet him in the office. Blankly and cruelly tells her they're going to get divorced because he had a one night stand at her sisters wedding and got a woman pregnant. He somehow got a paternity test done at only 6 weeks and found out he's the father so he needs to divorce her and marry the OW so is baby can inherit millions. He leaves her sobbing on the floor after she asks who is the OW and he tells her that it's her sister. (Same sister that got married that day).

Yes, it's a not a serious story. It's dramatic as fuck and on par with my Korean soap operas. Liesl learns later that the affair was not one night but 11 months in the making and that her evil little sister whose ridiculously spoiled and ruins everything in her life, blew and screwed her husband then blackmailed him into having an affair. (Scoffs). Liesl signs the divorce papers as does her sisters husband and somehow they're all divorced in 6 weeks. The day after the divorce, Merlin and the sister Sandy marry and go on the same honeymoon Liesl and Merlin did 8 years ago.

Liesl approaches another billionaire Isaias Machado whom her (now ex) husband and his father hate even though she doesn't understand why and offers to help him "ruin" her ex husband by giving him insider trader information on her ex husband's deals. She even offers to sell him the house she got in the divorce (that her sister now wants- along with the engagement/wedding set that was Liesl's) and let him bulldoze it to the ground (which he does.)

Obviously her and the new guy start a fling which becomes more quickly. Throw in social media drama, family drama, her ex husband and sister stalking her, corporate espionage and dramatic hysterics all around and you have this book which literally ends in the middle of a sentence so you have to buy part two to finish.

(I have not reviewed part 2).

The ONLY part I did not like in this book was near the end where Isaiah and Liesl are embarking on a new relationship but they've only been together a few weeks so Liesl has bought a new condo and in her first night alone sleeping in it, her (ex) husband Merlin breaks in (well using the master key, she didn't realize she rented a condo under one of his corporate umbrella names), climbs into bed with her naked to "win her back" and almost sexually assaults her then follows her around the apartment naked trying to talk her into taking him back. This dumb bitch doesn't call the cops or security or her new boyfriend and doesn't press charges. It's majorly ick.

It's silly and ridiculous and revengeful and fun. It cannot be taken seriously because it's outrageous and kind of stupid. Worth $11? Not to me but I don't regret it either.

Ok, so this review is going to be a review and a rant, I’m annoyed. Let me explain why. I fell down the Facebook add rabbit hole and liked the snippet I read, it was interesting, woman scorned gets the enemy to destroy the business, and the wacky plot continued through the book, problem was it’s a pay per chapter app book and I HATE THOSE!! Paying that much for a book is ridiculous. So I found it on kindle (yay fingers crossed it’s by the actual author and plagiarism) so I bought this book $9 AUD. I’m reading it and yeah, it was interesting! The rival starts destroying his business, hooks up with the ex, there is smut but it isn’t light your fire, they bulldozer the marital home, the sister who the husband got pregnant is nuts, constantly threaten to hurt the unborn baby unless he jumps every time she screams. Ex husband expects to divorce the sister and get back with the woman scorned after the baby is born and has satisfied the terms of the will and expects woman scorned to raise said affair baby, he is stupid and the sister psycho, I love the brother he is the kind of brother everyone needs! Her besties are awesome! And the woman grows into her actual self after the divorce and realises he was changing her and her need for his love allowed it. He climbs into her bed naked after getting a master key to her apartment, hello that’s assault and your bestie is a lawyer, ever heard of a restraining order?

Ok so what had annoyed me to anger, the book just stops. It’s not a cliffhanger it just stops, they are literally having breakfast mid conversation and end of book. It’s not the whole book! It’s broken into parts, each costing $9, so if you want the whole book you gotta keep paying, it’s not like it’s a series it’s just one book broken into parts! The book does not warrant this, and it’s not worth another $9. Sell the book as a whole! Even if it was slightly more expensive I would have payed that for the whole book, but I’m not paying that to buy a book in halves. And if you are going to be like that authors and sell your books in sections make them like $2 each so someone will actually read the whole thing! I hate this new trend of breaking books into parts, authors STOP IT!!! It needs editing as well, with random words having ? In it for example. So it’s not even a ‘perfect’ book. It’s funny yes but even the next book has the same blurb as this book! Clearly it’s a single book!!

Recap:
Lesil an artist and married her perfect husband, McGrath who she gives up most her carrier to be a housewife. When he tells her that they are getting divorced bc he cheated and her sister is pregnant with his heir. He must marry her to inherit the company for his family due to his grandpa will about children out of wedlock. He doesn’t even care as her heart is broken in 2 and her world is flipped upside down. Thankfully she has an amazing brother and 2 besties to have her back and help her heal and get revenge. She realizes she wants to ruin them both and give his biggest rival a bunch of company info and things to destroy her exs company. Isaias is caught off guard by this gorgeous amazing woman but after looking into it will out the info to good use, which he does. The house she once loved she sold to his rivals and they bull dozed it down bc her ex and sister wanted it. Her sister always tried to steal whatever she had bc she was jealous, but this time she wasn’t forgiving her, she wants nothing to do with any of them. As she is mending her broken heart and lack of trust Isaias is trying to win her over and trying to show her that he is different and wants to show her how to be truly loved. It takes a lot of ups and downs and lack of trust but their short trip to NYC was amazing until they get back and an inappropriate pic is leaked by a jealous girl he once hooked up with, her family is confused and her sister is using it against her and her ex is using it as an opening to reach out. She is hurt he didn’t say anything so her lawyer bestie files things to help protect her, while she drinks away. He realizes what he’s done and rushes to make it right. He apologizes and she is mad but forgives him. She’s trying to get back to normal in a new apartment and start fresh when her ex breaks into her place and her bed naked! She flips out and kicks him out but he isn’t going to give up and expect her to take him back once the baby is born for her to raise, F that!! In the end she moves in with Isaias but they know this isn’t the end….

I enjoyed the banter, chemistry, and flirtation between Isaias and Liesl, however, the sex scenes were lacking. It was almost as if it was written by someone with little to no sexual experience. Their first sex scene, was all the dirty talk supposed to stand in for foreplay? He just dove right into oral while she was recounting to herself the difference between him and her ex-husband. Who does that when the sex is supposedly world-ending?
I do love how Isaias accepted Liesl for who she was and he was not afraid to apologize or say he fucked up. I loved his family and Liesl's grandma as well, she was a hoot and a half. That darn Sandy needed her own planet. She was certifiable crazy. I did not expect what she did before she went to jail. If she had put as much energy into her career as she did trying to best her sister, she probably could have been happy.
I was so sick of Liesl comparing Isaias to her ex-husband. You say you hate him, but keep bringing him up at every turn. I think the think with her ex-husband's father could have been explored more, to make it a more interesting book. As obsessed as he was with her, maybe a little kidnapping.
It was a decent read.

This is very much a half of a story.

There’s no natural end point, it just stops in what feels like half way through a conversation. It doesn’t even feel like the end of a chapter.
Writing wise? There’s some mistakes and it reallly could do with an editor.
Story wise? I’m quite enjoying it. I do enjoy a bit of revenge and the flirting is amusing.
Price wise? I don’t think it’s worth it. It should be both parts of the book for £4.77, not £4.77 each. For the £9.54 it’s going to cost for me to have a complete story, I would expect a paperback not a kindle book which has been chopped into two by a butcher.
Will I buy the second part? I have to because this is not a full book and I need an ending.
Would I bother with another book from this author? If it was a full book with a beginning, middle, and end then yes. If not, no. I wouldn’t have bought this if I’d known it was cut like this.

I pretty much enjoyed this, neither the main character nor the love interest is perfect. you can kind of see an actual, more realistic relationship. well as realistic as you can get in a story that has a billionaire as to love interest. anyways. I will say the ex-husband and sister are downright delusional and I think the way they are handled is handled pretty well demonstrating how even though he was touted as a good husband once she separated from him she started really seeing just how bad the relationship had been and how much control he had over her. I think it's only failing is that the relationship does seem a touch rushed, we ended with one of those I'm pregnant situations as a big plotline near the end and given odd. it was the sisters mental state and back and forth between wherever she was on meds or in therapy at all

I really enjoyed this book. The FMC, Leisl (how dyu pronounce that?), her reaction and how she deals with her husband's betrayal is so relatable. No doormat, this one. She didn't slink away to lick her wounds. The discourse between characters had me laughing out loud in places, if not laughing, I was smiling throughout. As for the MMC, Isaias, I want me one of those! Definitely a book to be reread. When you're feeling a bit low or let down emotionally, use this book is a pick-me-up. Maybe I'm a little biased, as I'm in the process of divorcing my husband. Not that I want revenge. I feel I've already got that, as he'll soon realise he'll never find anyone better 🤷🏽‍♀️
If it's out in hardback, I'll buy it, if book #2 doesn’t let it down.

Liesl is an artist, and a wife. Until one night she find out that her husband and sister have been having an affair and her sister is pregnant. She decided to get revenge. She found her ex- husband enemy Isaias and gave him information about her ex and they falled in love. This book was great and how a woman took back her life and learned to trust someone and have some love 💜 her for herself. Liesl gave everything to her husband. He mad her in a image that her friends didn’t even recognize her. And she thought that what was going on in their relationship was normal. Until she found someone else. I could definitely relate. And the family drama was funny, but glad her mother came around.

Okay look, my expectations were pretty low, considering I saw this on a reading app ad, and decided one payment was better than $80 in micropayments, but its really annoying that the first book just ends. Like, literally in the middle of the story. Almost literally in the middle of a conversation? I'm assuming book 2 is actually part 2? I don't know. For the money, the author should really just slap the two parts together, because that's annoying. It could also use a secondary editing run. The story itself is fine.

Ends on a cliffhanger. I hate it when authors don't tell you ahead of time, and all of a sudden the book ends. It didn't even need to be two books.

Otherwise, I liked the story. It's the kind of story I could get behind. Leisl gets cheated on by her husband with her sister and the sister gets pregnant. He very callously tells her with divorce papers, and that he has to marry her. Leisl takes it like a champ, and proceeds to destroy his life. She takes the information she has of her ex, and takes it to his rival, the mmc.

Omg this was such a great read. I read this book on Dreame and it was so good I had to purchase it on Amazon. Lisel was angry but knew exactly what she wanted to do to get her revenge in her cheating husband and good for nothing sister. Her friends are the real mvps along with her brother. Don’t let me get started on granny. This book will have you cracking up and rooting for her and Isaias. The main characters will have you falling in love but the secondary characters bring the book to life even more.

Absolutely loved these books (book 1&2 or part 1&2 as some are calling it). Now personally I read it on Kobo so it was free with my subscription, which meant I got to enjoy the book at my leisure. Saying that I read both books in 3 days. I loved the characters, absolutely loved her revenge and loved the characters. I actually found a lot of the sister’s behaviour believable (having experience with mental illness) and esp loved Granny 🥰

Def recommend. Yes there are some minor grammar mistakes in 2nd book but nothing major. It didn’t stop me enjoying the story and I’m just sorry her 2 friends didn’t get their own stories 🤞

Three stars for the plot. The flirting made me smile! The snarky remarks about the ex-husband and the mentally unstable sister had me giggling. Love this story, but dislike the fact that it ended. Is there a second book that completes the story? I am not a fan of cliffhangers. I would get mad when the words "to be continued" would appear at the end of tv episodes of my favorite shows way back yonder when.

Late night insomnia fluff. I needed a bit of drama and a happy ending, and that's what it gave me.

The author kept track of her characters, their motivations, and their relationship, which is far more that you get in other free-app novels! She can also spell and use grammar. It might sound like damning with faint praise, but it's not - the book was just what I needed to help me out of an anxiety spiral.

quick but a good read

Man cheats on woman with her own sister. Woman scorned, gets with ex’s nemesis who is amazing, shenanigans ensue, and some hot sex with said nemesis, as they build their relationship while plotting to take down the ex’s business. Left on a cliffhanger which I hate, but it is entertaining. Normally I wouldn’t spend this much on this type of kindle read but I got sucked in.

Short sweet book. It was refreshing how the ML was written and how he sees and treats women, esp our FML. Only thing I didnt fw was the plot around her missing her pills and him not saying anything and him dipping a lot. Idk why this is 2 books but this is my review for both. This also needed an editor as some things in the story was inconsistant. I wish their friends also got a story, they seemee interesting.

Love, Betrayal, Espionage, and Revenge

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. When she has a best friend who is a lawyer, another who backs her work, a brother determined to stand by her, an a billionaire determined to make her feel powerful again, what could stop her?

This easy read has a humorous and protective brother, a stupid ex-husband, an evil sister, and a strong heroine. But we ready to read book 2, because book 1 leaves you waiting for more.

First of all, it’s two books you have to buy to complete the story, not that it’s part 1 or 2, it just stops at some point in book 1. The overall story is catchy and very entertaining, but book 2 has too many scenes that could have could have been avoided and made the story shorter, it feels like they wanted to fill the book with words. Ending is not that bad. Yes it is a typical sorry or billionaire and non billionaire love , revenge and sex; but good to read.

Every woman who has ever been cheated on wants revenge like the one described here.

A light novel that is absolutely worth reading.

Liesel (the main female character) takes her life into her own hands after being screwed over by her ex and literally thrown out of her life.
Without further ado, she goes to her ex-husband's biggest adversary and takes her revenge with relish.
And as befits a fairy tale, she finds her soulmate in the process and lives happily ever after...

Love this book

This book was great! I love to hate the characters meant to be hated and adore many of the supporting characters. The main characters have amazing chemistry. My only issue is that there are some minor spelling/grammatical errors that I am surprised were missed by editing staff

This was a great and unexpected read. It was a random book push on FB and I was pulled in with the excerpt that it gave. With every turn of a page I was blown away! First of all, SANDY IS THE WORST EVER! I mean my goodness right up to the very end she was just AWFUL! I won't even start with the ex-husband and his family.. just UGH! However, I love the resolve for revenge that Liesl had and the fact that the author gave her an HEA. I loved Isaias and his family as well. He was supportive, caring and was not for any nonsense. I loved him and swooned each time he went to bat for Liesl. His mom and sister were wonderfully messy.. LOL! Such a GREAT read.

I would recommend this read 5x over.

Awe

Talk about unhinged!! that sister of hers is insane! But thanks to her craziness and delusion, Liesl found herself with the perfect partner to have her revenge and her life.
Isaías is the perfect book boyfriend, and That filthy mouth of his was to die for.
A perfect ending for this hilarious and so unapologetic crass story.
