This is the book I needed to read and this was the time that I needed to read it. It is clear and easy to read - no mental gymnastics required - and it explains so much of my own experience from childhood to now. I'm a seeker.
I've always been a seeker, a person who asks "why" at every turn, and because of that I've never felt like I fit in anywhere. I've always been the odd one out, different, weird, "you think too much," "you ask too many questions," sort of person. And so, reading this has been like receiving a gift, the gift of belonging or of "okayness," like I can finally see that I'm not broken, I'm not malfunctioning, I wasn't made "wrong."
Now, instead of fighting it, I can embrace it. I know what to look for, as I've been in that state of awareness several times but have never been able to maintain it past a couple of days. This book changes the way I see myself and the way I see that state of awareness and my ability to get there and eventually stay there for longer periods of time.
I guess what I'm saying is that this book has provided me with validation for my experience, confirmation that I'm not crazy, and direction for how to work with my awareness instead of against it. All this to say - great life-changing book, if You're open to it, and you want it to be.
