This book was held together by strings of terrible clichés.
At many points during the book, the author demonstrates that she is new and doesn't fully understand how to move a plot forward. If we get the FMC's POV from (let's say) 8 am to 10 am, the author then backtracks the story to give us the MMC's POV from that time as well. However, the backtracking did nothing to enhance the story or development of the characters.
There are MANY MANY things that happened in this story that are unbelievable. First, that two of the HIGH SCHOOL boys are pro levels at BDSM. Secondly, that the FMC would lose her virginity while in the middle of a HEAVY BDSM scene and have zero aftercare. Third,
As the readers. we never get to connect to Abby or the men. The world building is lack luster. The OW drama is predictable.
There are sooooo many plot holes that if I were to summarize all of them, it would be a retelling of the book.
Save yourself the 3 hours it will take you to read this book and instead watch a couple movies. That would be a better use of your time.

This book is everything. Most definitely a 5 star read. I love the characters every single one of them. The twist at the end is just insane. The whole ride was the thrill I needed. The mystery of who and what a character is. The spice the love the character build. It was everything. It is a darker romance. Hardcore spice. I ate the spice up. Certain scenes have me in a muddle on the floor fanning myself. The chapters are short sweet and rotate from character to character which is exactly what i love. This book had me hooked from chapter one. Read in less than 24 hrs. Most decently a top read of 2024. If you are thinking about it just for it and dive in. Be prepared to have your heart shattered. I’m so ready for book 2.

I binged this book so fast! I have to say it’s top 3 of my favorite reverse herem series so far. The storyline was unique, having Abigail moving away as a child, Ryan and Parker having no idea where she went and then suddenly she’s back again after 8 years. Not only are Ryan and Parker grappling with how to feel about her return, but their best friend Colin has claimed dibs on her (poor guy didn’t make it an entire class before he fell in love). I know there is a lot we are going to find out in the next book about her stalker and how on earth he ties into her past. I hope he gets what he deserves.. we don’t like him at all by the end of the book. Prepare for cliffhangers and heartbreak! I can’t wait to read torment when it comes out! I highly recommend this series! Please check trigger warnings and don’t blame the author for reading something you were warned about. This book is for adults, it’s a high school romance (characters over 18), with lots of spice, sensitive subjects, violence, stalking and more (that’s also what makes it an amazing book).

Am I okay? No I am not!
I got an ARC of this book. I will say this. Please read the TWS for this book. It is very dark and there are themes in this book that may not be for everyone.
It has been a rough month of emotional damage caused by dark romance authors. Kaitlin did warn me not to get attached to any of the characters I thought she was joking, to be honest. No, she was not joking.
For those who love spice, it has it alright. If you love a certain weapon that gets put inside a certain downstairs area this book has it.
If you love a stalker that is morally grey this book has it as well. Granted I will always be Zade girly for life. But the unknown comes pretty close and he is very unhinged for sure.
Granted this is based in a high school setting as well.

So, I went back and forth for a while on what I wanted to rate this story. So I'll start with the things I liked and go from there.
This is a dark romance, which is my second favorite genre after Romantasy. And this was absolutely dark. It was graphic with murder and it was put there as often as possible. The same goes for sex. None of the spice was plain vanilla, it was all super spicy and kinky, which I enjoy in a dark romance. Obviously for some this can be a lot so check the trigger warnings.
Now for the things I dislike, or should I say thing. There was one aspect of this story that really I didn't like. The age of the characters. All of the main characters are 18 years old. Which means they're of consenting age and can make those choices. However, they are seniors in high school. That pulled me out of the story because it felt odd to read about high schoolers having kinky sex. If they were 18 and in college I honestly wouldn't bat an eye. And it only has to do with the fact that in my mind, even seniors in high school are still kids.
Overall, I did like the story. Minus the education level I didn't have many dislikes. Will I still check out the 2nd one? More than likely yes.

I received this book as an ARC from the author, and I have to thank her for sharing it with me because I didn't know what I was missing until I read this book. Be aware of the trigger warnings, but all characters are adults and fictional.
I was so absorbed in the book that I couldn't stop reading and appreciated the perspectives of each person. I read this book so quickly because I couldn't do anything until it was finished, and I'm counting down until book 2 comes! This is a romance that is both spicy and dark and will have you in awe. I am completely captivated by the characters and storyline! The spotify Playlist also is 100% and definitely fits the book!!

I've postponed typing up my review bc I am unsure of my thoughts. This book has quite a bit of spice.... it's just that these are allegedly high-school aged kids, and so it's a bit awkward and beyond that unrealistic. But if we put that to the side, I quite enjoyed the stalker portion of the story and will more than likely drag book two bc I'm a nosey bitch and have to see how it all ends!
Overall, it's a decent book, but not my favorite. I did enjoy it enough to check out book 2 and even consider other titles from the author.

now i’m sorry but this book awful. it was full of plot holes. why tf do 18 year old BOYS know bdsm let alone HEAVY bdsm?? then do make me even more upset, the were just chill with killing the best character?? idk i called it from the beginning who the “stalker” was. i wanted it to be a stalker romance which is what it sounded like it was going to be but i guess not??

This book was actually really good, love the story line! Has a mystery vibe as well to it!
The only thing is that there is a scene where he uses a pistol on her (like in haunting Adeline) iykyk. It’s also set in high school which throws me off sometimes. I remind myself that most tv shows are like that too, that are based in high school.

I need book #2 ASAP 'cause this kept me on my toes. Obsession is written in multi POV with a plus size FMC, 3 MMC's and a stalker thrown into the mix to shake things up, and boy... did he shake things up. I'm not okay. This does end on a cliffhanger, and I really hope book #2 comes out sooner rather than later.

Abigail met Parker and Ryan when they were 8 years old. They spent a few summers together before her Mom, Cindy, got engaged and they moved away. When she attends the same school as the boys, she's reunited but Parker is still heartbroken from her leaving them and he takes a little bit to warm back up to Abigail. Once Abigail answers some of Ryan's questions about why she left, he quickly forgives her and they fall back into their old ways. Colin is the new one to the group, and he's the "golden retriever" and he pulls Abigail right into their group. There are hints that while she was a way some type of trauma happened to her, but we still don't find out what it is. I have a feeling it has something to do with her stalker. His POV is written as "unknown" until the end when we find out who he is, but not how he's connected to Abigail yet. I really hate this guy, I mean he broke my heart. Throughout he stalked them, tried to kill them, kidnapped Abigail, left blood and dead animals.

Has potential
This has the potential to be a decent story, but the writing was immature and a bit cringey and there were a few too many cliches. Like, a virgin mmc who is a complete qnd utter dom his first time to the point he thinks he's literally KILLED her?? An 18 year old into s&m and making her loose her v in a sx room with spreaders and chains and wh!pping her until she bleeds?? It's like the author tried to recreate every sx scene she's ever read. These are EIGHTEEN year olds!!
Also, Abigail is the absolute complete and utter definition of an fmc who is tstl. Like seriously, after your boyfriend is almost killed, after YOU are stabbed, you wake up covered in bruises and a freaking W CARVED into your flesh and you SHRUG it off and HIDE the evidence?! And then you get a bouquet of flowers with a threat and go NAH Ima gonna go to this high school dance anyways!!
And where are the goddammed police?!?! Parkers breaks are cut. She is STABBED and then the stabber is KILLED in a hit and run! No sign of the police??? But she's questioned about the mean girl's disappearance?? And her mum just ups and goes on a work trip after her daughter is literally STABBED?? And both her wounds and Parkers are never mentioned again. Like I've not been stabbed but I've had surgery and that hurts for WEEKS and it's never mentioned that she's in pain or it twinges nothing just business as usual.
And what's with her freaking out about sleeping with them all?? It made NO SENSE because she KNEW that THEY knew about each other, Ryan literally says he's glad they warmed her up for him (and none of his scene made a lick of sense - he's a literal virgin but says that he'll be too much for her despite having NEVER HAD SX!!!). But then she freaks out, pushes them away, and then storms up to them like i want all of you or none then gets angry when they say they'd already agreed to share her- like if she'd just talked to them in the first place there would have been none of that.
Abigail is a really unlikeable fmc. She is just moody and miserable and makes no effort to make any friends except the guys. She's a full on 'I'm not like the other girls' cliche with baggy clothes and all black. She's rude and dismissive of the guys and i honestly can't say i can see why they're all obsessed with her.
And that's another thing that makes no sense. I get why she was still hung up on them because it sounds like they were the only friends she'd ever had. But they were incredibly popular guys it makes no sense they'd be so obsessed with a girl they'd spent 2 and a half summers with as little kids. Like I'd get it if they'd been best friends for years but a few weeks a year for a couple kf years at age 7 and 8 and they're still obsessed with her to the point they can't even hold down a relationship at 18 just makes no sense.
And finally unknown. Here is a character where the author just let loose and went all out for shock value. The old lady and her gransons who lived next door storyline held literally no value to the story whatsoever except for omg look at how depraved these pedophiles are, but look I'm even more depraved. These are EIGHTEEN year olds!!
Also, Abigail is the absolute complete and utter definition of an fmc who is tstl. Like seriously, after your boyfriend is almost killed, after YOU are stabbed, you wake up covered in bruises and a freaking W CARVED into your flesh and you SHRUG it off and HIDE the evidence?! And then you get a bouquet of flowers with a threat and go NAH Ima gonna go to this high school dance anyways!!
And where are the goddammed police?!?! Parkers breaks are cut. She is STABBED and then the stabber is KILLED in a hit and run! No sign of the police??? But she's questioned about the mean girl's disappearance?? And her mum just ups and goes on a work trip after her daughter is literally STABBED?? And both her wounds and Parkers are never mentioned again. Like I've not been stabbed but I've had surgery and that hurts for WEEKS and it's never mentioned that she's in pain or it twinges nothing just business as usual.

I am a dark romance lover, love stalker romance, LOVE a why choose, so when the ARC was proposed to me I jumped on the opportunity to read it. Unfortunately, it fell flat for me. I loved the idea, I liked the characters BUT it felt like I was reading the recap of a book, and not an actual book.
The events all happen to fast to make sense emotionally speaking, and I didn't actually feel an emotional connection.
FMC has some kind of trauma with her stepfather or brother, we don't really know, and even after finishing the book, we still don't know what the deal is?
Also, the way the FMC (who was a V btw) falls in bed so quickly with all of them, just doesn't make sense, it's simply not believable. When the guys made a pack to share her out of the blue? totally cringe.
I love sword-crossing, and when it was headed that way, we were hit with a fade-to-black. Why would you do that?!?
And last but not least, when the identity of the stalker is revealed, the FMC knows him, she recognizes him, but we don't know what the connection is. Like, she says his name, but we haven't heard the name before (I even did a word search on kindle to be sure because I'm bad with names). I just don't get it...

I'm not sure how I feel about this story. It has potential, but it ended up falling a bit short for me. Holy moly what a wild ride this book was and excuse me that cliffy was brutal. This book is very dark please check your triggers.
Abby has moved back after 8 years of separation from the boys who were her best friends and 1st loves. She has experienced things since moving away that we don’t even learn about in this book but this girl has had some trauma. Her boys have changed Ryan and Parker are now popular football players who rule the school and have added Colin to the mix. These boys get whatever they want and when Abby moves back she is what they want. But it’s not that easy and of course they can’t just tell her that they have to make it more challenging. But of course they find their way back together. Little do they know though Abby came back with a stalker who views her as his and he will stop at nothing to keep her safe and make her his.
This is a heart stoping, crazy wild ride with kinks (Abby’s boys have grown and experimented and let’s just say they are well kinky), murder, mystery, love, and pain. This book truly puts you on an emotional roller coaster until the very end and honestly you will not be ok when it’s over as it ends on an intense and insane cliffy. I absolutely loved this book and I cannot wait for book 2.

Oh my gosh I don’t even know how to feel 😭😭😭 i am in shambles right now…. The damn ending leaving on a cliffhanger.
I typically do not read high school romance and that’s why I rated it 4.5*, however this book was different. This was a RH book which I absolutely love.
It all started when Abigail, Parker and Ryan were kids and they were best friends then one day Abigail left with no words, but it wasn’t her fault. 8 years later and they are in school. The guys are football stars and they have another best friend Colin. Colin was the first one to noticed her. Parker was not happy at first to see her but after finding out the truth why she left there relationship got better. Now there is a problem this unknown character who thinks he owns Abigail and is making her and her guys live in hell by doing unspeakable things. He made me so mad! The spice was top tier and explored various kinks and situations. And the last scene, whoa.
The ending does want you leaving more, and I cried at the end.
Overall a great read and I cannot wait for the second book!

Most of the book is filled with spicy/kinky love scenes between the female and male characters and a couple male to male. There are also a few parts where it gets a bit emotional and others where it has some disturbing scenes. I liked the relationship between the characters but my favorite part was the ending.
If you are looking for a dark romance focused on the steamy part then this is for you. I will rate it with 3,5 stars.

Overall this was a good book. It's a pretty quick and easy read with everything from the plot to the "insta-love" relationships being very fast paced. However, I wasn't completely sold on the high school setting. There are some major BDSM and kink scenes throughout and it's hard for me to believe that these 18 year old high-schoolers (including the virgins) would/could be so well versed and practiced in the lifestyle. It was also a little difficult to find a connection to the MCs, who came off as average shallow high-school kids. You had the popular great at football guys and the wears all black baggy clothes moody girl. It gave me dark romance meets 90s teen movie vibes. I did like that Abigail was supposed to be on the curvier side, and I love that kind of representation in the books I read. If this had been set in the later years of college I would have felt better about how the story progressed and the depth of the spicy scenes that were described. I thought the mystery of the stalker was very easy to figure out pretty early on in the plot so it left little to no surprise at the reveal. I thought it was interesting that we're given the Unknown POV throughout the book it was a nice way to break up the POVs from the rest of the characters. This does end in a cliffhanger which I felt didn't do the story any favors. A nice conflict resolution and HEA would have given me more to like about Abigail and the boys' story. If you like dark romance and can get past the age level then definitely give this a read.

Although I liked that the female character was curved, that it had a poly relationship. I had serious issues with the BDSM in this book. I love good smut, but most of this is questionable and unsafe in real life. If you are going to write about BDSM than do the research. The main characters first sexual in counter is being strapped up with no safe word or signal, then the male character chokes her with no questions as to if it’s ok with her. The author writes this like it’s ok? The next seen with BDSM, the male gives her a safe word then stuffs her pantys in her mouth. How is she to give said safe word? He proceeds to strap her thought to a weight machine with 5lbs in it chokes her till she passes out then is freaked out when she does t respond. No cpr just shaking, the female “laughs” and says it’s ok. Yea this was not ok. I was a professional dominatrix for years, the triggers in here don’t bother me, the unsafe sexual experiences do.

Whoa! This book had me hooked from the beginning. It was a story about how childhood friendships and love can turn into something so much more. Abigail returns to her childhood home hoping to reunite with her childhood friends Ryan & Parker after leaving unexpectedly years ago. However life is never that simple and things are trying to keep them apart. Colin is a new addition to the friendship group and when they all realise they love Abigail they set out to prove to her she can have all of them. Someone is not happy with this and goes out of their way to keep Abigail all for themselves.
The relationships in this story are heartwarming and show how good it can be to be loved. The story keeps you interested with the twists and turns and the spice was excellent. The cliffhanger was a killer! Can’t wait for book 2.

This storyline could've has alot of potential but the writer seemed to rush into everything. It reads very much as a 'and then and then and then' with no rhyme or rhythm. It was just every high school cliche in one mouthful of a book. The fact that Parker and Ryan have basically loved Abigail for half their lives yet they're the ones who don't 'make love' and are more brutal in their sex scenes with her was weird imo. There was no building up to these feelings either especially with Colin who was new to her. The whole stalker pov could've been such a good idea if it wasn't just the guy bragging about how dranged he is and killing people at random and shit like wtf. I read in someone else's review but where are the police like what?? The writing was juvenile to begin with and it's a shame because the idea was actually good the execution was extremely disappointing.

Kaitlin E. Mackey gave me an early release Arc to read and let me just say.. WOW!!!! I absolutely devoured this book in one day. I love a fast paced story. All of the Eastgate Men were to die for, but Ryan has my heart 😩 I don’t want to spoil anything, so I won’t go into too many details.
This story was captivating, sexy, emotional, funny, and fucked up. It also tore my fucking heart out. This author knows how to pack a punch and leave you breathless, but ready for more 😩❗️

First book I’ve heard by Mackey, but I think she’s thrilled me enough that I’d just buy every book she ever releases 😂🥹💙

Ok, I need to address this first before I tell you how much I enjoyed this book. It legit took me a day to read because I didn't want to put it down.
I'm a 33 year old mom and reading about 18 year olds having a sex life as they do in the book was a little unrealistic for me. BUT I did absolutely love the book.
I loved the way choose and that Abbs got all 3 men. I loved that the fmc isn't some skinny, perfect women, that she is a realistic girl who is bigger yet still so beauty. I fell in love with Parker so you'll understand when I was said in the end of this book. That damn cliffhanger got me real bad. I also wasn't expecting that to happen so I value the shock of surprise and that it wasn't predicted like other books I've read.
