Please check trigger warnings before reading. Available on Sarah's website. Justin I don’t know where I am, I don’t know how long I’ve been gone. All I know is that I’m surrounded by darkness, and that I failed the only woman I've ever loved. I failed my best friend. I failed my father. My best friend died trying to protect Valentina, and his death weighs heavily on my soul. I’m trapped in hell physically and mentally, and I would do anything to get out. Even if it means selling my damaged soul to the devil. Valentina
They took him from me, and they will pay. They will all pay. I will go anywhere, and do anything to get Justin back, even if I have to go through hell. No one will dare cross me now that I've accepted my role as Queen of the Fiorelli Family, and with the leader of the Calaveras Negras’ blood on my hands… They WILL bow down to me, or suffer the same fate. No one will keep him from us … No one.
Talk about rip my heart out and then slowly piece it back together! Gosh this was just so heartbreaking and wonderfully beautiful at the same time! The spice was 5/5 and the plot was 5/5! I don’t think I’ve enjoyed a mafia romance this well ever! While this duet part of the series is over I can’t wait to see how Sarah guts me with the next book in the series.
Escaped Flame is the second book in the Tormented Symphony series. This mafia romance is told from multiple POVs. While the main characters in Escaped Flame are Valentina Fiorelli and Justin Campbell, we continue to learn more about Daniels' many wonderful characters.
Escaped Flame picks up where Anchor Point left off. While rescuing Cassie, Justin was kidnapped by the Calaveras Negras, Spencer was killed and Valentina killed Marco. Or maybe not.
Valentina is focused on finding Justin and intends to use any and all resources available to her. This includes her best friend Detective Anna Graham who is still recovering from having been shot. First though, Valentina needs to bring Anna up to speed, assuming she can hold it together. Nikita continues to fight her for dominion and it gets harder and harder to keep her at bay.
Through this book we learn more about the Phantom and his intentions, while we still don't know who is hiding behind that mask. We also explore The Collective which consists of the Fiorellis (Las Vegas), the Contis (Chicago), the Morettis (NYC), and the Romeros (LA). I loved the tidbits shared about Dante and Enzo. I'm also intrigued by Antonio, Val's bodyguard and I'm hoping we get more of him as the series progresses.
This is only the second book in the series and I am utterly hooked. I am completely invested in these characters and while I want to respect the author's process in bringing their stories to life, I'm also very impatient for my next fix. I need more Rico. I need more Antonio. Who is the Phantom? Will Cassie be okay? And that's just the tip of the iceberg.
I love Daniels' writing. Her books are so easy to devour, and she keeps readers coming back for more. The next book, Three Alarm, will feature Bella De La Rosa, Marco's sister. It is expected Valentine's Day 2024. I'm already counting the days until its release. She is one sassy vixen who knows her way around a whip.
My #NewToMeWord is caliche, which is a mineral deposit of gravel, sand and nitrates, found in dry areas of America.
I am a part of Sarahs ARC team/Street team, and I have to say I've enjoyed being on it and getting to know her and the rest of the team.
This is my honest review of Escape Flame: Book Two in The Tormented Symphony Series.
*TW* Check your trigger warnings before you start reading. Some of the material in this book may trigger you.
I have to say OMFG Sarah Daniels did it again! Escape Flame is book two in The Tormented Symphony Series, and I have to say this book was so good. It was beyond good. The story was just so well written. The characters are just so well written and so real. Sarah's stories just suck you into her world, and it feels like you're in the book with all the characters experiencing it all along with them.
I love mostly all the characters in this book. I so feel for Justin with all the trauma he goes through at the hands of Marco (hates this character). I love seeing the interactions between Justin and Valentina. What they have between each other is so special and just wow, the spicy scenes between the both of them... You may need to change ur undies.
I know I also think the back and forth between the phantom and Anna is pretty hot. I also would like to see maybe what could happen between Anna & Antonio. He seems so sweet to her and generally wants to help her through her time of need.
I would also love to see what happens with daddy Rico and see him get his happy afterever..
This book will blow your mind away it has something for everyone mafia related subjects, spice, action, great storyline, wonderful character, dark romance, and everything you could ever want from a dark romance! I can't wait to see what is in the future for this awesome series!

It IS required you read book 1, (Anchor Point) because this one will pick up right where it left off! Sarah has a way with captivating you and taking you through an emotional journey with heart wrenching cliffys, and characters that for me....I just cannot stop thinking about. This book perfectly wrapped up the journey of Val and Justin but still has me needing SO MUCH MORE! If you enjoy dark mafia romance haven't yet, please do yourself a favor and read this
I cannot wait to see what is next! ❤️🔥

Justin ➪ I don’t know where I am, I don’t know how long I’ve been gone. All I know is that I’m surrounded by darkness and that I failed the only woman I've ever loved. I failed my best friend. I failed my father. My best friend died trying to protect Valentina, and his death weighs heavily on my soul. I’m trapped in hell physically and mentally, and I would do anything to get out. Even if it means selling my damaged soul to the devil.
Valentina ➪They took him from me, and they will pay. They will all pay. I will go anywhere and do anything to get Justin back, even if I have to go through hell. No one will dare cross me now that I've accepted my role as Queen of the Fiorelli Family, and with the leader of the Calaveras Negras’ blood on my hands… They WILL bow down to me, or suffer the same fate. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This story is filled with TWs - take the warnings seriously. But if you choose to read it, it is definitely worth it! ESCAPED FLAME picks up exactly where ANCHOR POINT ended. It is not intended to be read until after Anchor Point. There's a lot going on in this book, Valentina & Rico have to deal with Justin's kidnapping. Nikita wants control of Valentina. The Collective helps as they can, but they need Valentina to lead the Forellis. Anna has lost so much ... There are lots of mental health struggles. Escaped Flame deals with so many sensitive subjects, but it is written really well. Val and Anna have both been through so much. It's amazing to see how much Rico and Antonio care for them. I really like both of those guys, and I hope they both get HEAs in the next book(s). Val realizes she can be a serious bad ass and take care of things without Nikita's help. Anna's grief is heart-breaking. Antonio literally saves her in this book, but will the Phantom ultimately be what she needs? This story has more darkness, less spice than Anchor Point did, but it is worth the read to get the HEA ending.
She’s a Queen that will kill to get her King back 🖤
So continues the story of Queen Fiorelli, The Collective and Anna and her Phantom. Sarah Daniels certainly kept me on my toes through this one!
There’s the fallout from book 1, kidnap, grief, lots of hot mafia men, mental health struggles, a Queen stepping up, the Phantom, action, suspense, a sexy corvette and throwing knives (with perfect aim!).
The second half of this book had me glued to kindle! So good! It deals with many sensitive subjects but written really well. Val and Anna have both been through so much but have the support of those around them. Love how protective Rico is, hope he gets a HEA at some point. And Val, she can be a serious bad ass (even without Nikita doing her thing!). Looking forward to book 3!
Just finished Escaped Flame by @author.sarah.daniels. Took me longer but I had to refresh my memory on Anchor Point. I did enjoy the book learned more about Val and see her become a badass women. This carried on from Anchor Points cliffhanger and it flowed really well. Not a lot of spice but definitely a good series so far. I cannot wait for the next book.and maybe learn more about Bella. I love this book is Justin and Val’s HEA.
TW please check trigger warning before reading!! Holy shit! This book pulled out almost every emotion there is. It picks up where anchor point ended and just keeps you hook. We get to see Valentina struggle with her mental health and how she fights through it. Truly a baddie. And poor Justin the trauma he goes through in the hands of Marco broke my heart. I HATE THAT MAN! We also get to know Antonio and the way I feel in love with him was no joke and the way he looked after Anna AHHHHH! The spicy scenes were *chef’s kiss*
Justin and Valentina's story is finally finished! When I tell you I've been hounding the author ... 🫠
This book has so much going for it. Women finding their inner strength after being out through the wringer, an emotional rollercoaster, mental health representation, mafia families, violence, and so much more!
You can get the time and energy Sarah put into her stories and characters. They all brought a unique element to the story. Don't forget to take notes cause it won't be the last time you see them.
Book Two in the Tormented Symohony series. Valentina and Justin's story starts in Anchor Point and continues in Escaped Flame. Go add to your TBR cause there's so much more chaos to come!
An amazing second book to follow an amazing first!!! We get to see a completely different side to Valentine and I am here for it. Can't wait for the next installment
I am a part of Sarahs ARC team/Street team and its been a blast!
*TW* Check your trigger warnings before you start reading. Some of the material in this book may trigger you.
Escape Flame is book two in The Tormented Symphony Series, and I have to say this book was so good, too good. It hurt. It healed. Sarah writes beautifully and you feel for the characters. This carried on from Anchor Points cliffhanger and it flowed really well and we finally get a HEA between Val and Justin.
This book is dark (we love a good dark romance) and focuses on alot of mental health struggles and does so in a beautifully written way. Yes, there is spice as well, but I felt like it focused more on the dark aspects and healing from those.
I love all of the characters. I love the back-and-forth between the phantom and Anna- it's hot. I also would like to see maybe what could possibly happen between Anna & Antonio as he literally is so sweet and caring to her and saves her in more ways than one.
Story: 💚💚💚 Characters:🩷🩷🩷🩷 World Building: 🧡🧡🧡 Feels:💙💙💙💙 Spice:🌶🌶🌶 Overall:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book read like a comic book. Lots of story. Lots of action. I enjoyed the experience. The characters were all unique and interesting. This story touches on multiple mental illnesses; I dont feel comfortable making any comments on the ones I dont suffer from; however I can comment on the respectful way Author Sarah Daniels speaks about depression. Overall, great book if you're into fast-paced dark romance. I will never look at letter openers the same way ever again...
All that being said- this is your warning. There are a ton of triggers in this book. If you are not in a good headspace- don't read it.
My Thoughts ~ From the very first chapter I was gasping already that I had to message the author because I knew this was going to be a roller coaster ahead. (Not in a bad way) This is the second book in the series and it picks up on a clif hanger at the end of book one. So I highly recommend reading Anchor Point first. This book takes us through the emotional heartbreak and torment that Valentina is going through while doing anything in her power to find Justin, using any and every resource she has available to her. If you know Sarah’s writing you will understand that her words along with her characters are raw and real, they are emotional in such a powerful way, something I very much enjoy with reading her books. This book was such a great read and a page Turner for sure you are always hopeful for the happy ending you want for Justin and Valentina.
I do want to say that the notes and stalker for Anna had me in such an eerie feeling that I was literally checking my windows and doors 🥲 I have definitely grown to love Anna as a person in this store that I very much enjoy reading about her as well.
Through the book though you get to know and learn more about other characters and become immersed in their life’s and wanting to know more about them. I can’t wait for more books in this series and to get to read about the others as well.
SARAHHHHH HOW could you do this to us 😢 Chapter 21 is one of most tear streaming down your face chapters you could have ever written and while you did write it so well I was definitely feeling every wave of emotions.
Imagine me sitting in my reading chair in the living room just reading along then all the sudden I’m full blown balling my eyes out, my husband here’s me sniffling and comes out Kylee what’s wrong like all seriousness thinking something so bad happened I literally can’t get the words out of my face and when I do he just looks at me like I’m crazy.
That right there is how powerful the words of an author can be.
“ I would sacrifice a lifetime of my happiness to see Justin's eyes light up again... But for now, I wanted the pain, the torment, everything he felt. I wanted him to unleash his demons upon me so I could fight them, giving him what little moment of peace I could.”
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 🌶️🌶️🌶️ (3.5) Dark Romance/Mafia 📖
❤️🔥I recently finished Escaped Flame, book two in the Tormented Symphony series by @author.sarah.daniels and this story honestly felt like one fast paced and all consuming ride, I loved it! Escaped Flame picks up immediately after the concluding events of Anchor Point and is best read following the novella, Flash Point.
The plot in this story is everything and truly kept me on the edge of my seat for the entire read as the characters owned every drop of my heart. Escaped Flame has elements of mystery, so much intrigue, continued character development, emotional complexity, found family, mental health representation, longing, heartbreak, loyalty, brutality, and more. There were definitely moments that my heart broke and others when I felt so much love for the relationships in this story.
✔️Found Family ✔️Accurate Mental Health Rep ✔️Bad A$$ FMC ✔️Multiple POV’s ✔️Action Packed ✔️Mafia Families & Rival Cartels
❤️🔥While the overarching premise of this story follows Justin and Valentina, I loved glimpsing and following along with all of the other relationships developing within this series. I definitely recommend Escaped Flame to those who enjoy dark mafia romance and dark romance!
Please give genuine consideration to the content and trigger warnings. They can be found on the authors website 🖤
❤️🔥Escaped Flame is available now on KU!
My most sincere and genuine thanks to Sarah Daniels for having me on your ARC team! I have loved Justin and Valentina’s story, and all of the absolutely wonderful side characters. Heartbreak and all!
Um excuse me miss, this was very intense, what a rollercoaster that was and I loved every single second off it. Escaped Flame picks up where Anchor Point left us off.
While rescuing Cassie, Justin was kidnapped by the Calaveras Negras😡 Spencer was killed 😔 and Valentina killed Marco..or was he..🤔
The journey that escaped flame takes us on,is filled with heartbreak, action, romance, redemption, and suspense and spice, Sarah truly knows how to break your heart and put it back together again. when you think you can't take any more boom it smacks you in the face 😂
Justin, is trapped in a dark and dangerous place, both mentally and physically, He is haunted by the death of his best friend, and he is struggling to come to terms with his own past. But Justin is determined to escape and find Valentina, the woman he loves to death.
Valentina's utter despair at loosing Justin was heart wrenching and she's fighting off her alter ego Nikita on top of everything else. Meanwhile, the Phantom is doing a good job of confounding everyone and leaving messages with Valentina and Anna. There's so much we still don't know about Phantom. is he good or bad? He showed a different side of himself in this book, I'm curious to see where he pops up again in the other books of the series and finally get some answers about him. We need answers !?
The book allows us to follow Justin on his journey to freedom, and it's not an easy ride either, He faces many challenges along the way, including his own demons. But Justin is a strong and determined character, and he will never give up.
You really dont want to miss out on this series, it has everything I listed plus love, loss, and self healing and discovery. I loved every minute of book 1&2 and can't wait for the next installment. I highly recommend reading these.
“ I would sacrifice a lifetime of my happiness to see Justin's eyes light up again... But for now, I wanted the pain, the torment, everything he felt. I wanted him to unleash his demons upon me so I could fight them, giving him what little moment of peace I could.”
Escaped Flame was everything I needed it to be and then some ok.
This is book 2 in Sarah’s Tormented Symphony series, book 1 is called Anchor Point and both books are available on KU! Plus, there is still more to come. It gives mafia with some good smut sprinkled in and it is just such an amazing storyline.
In book 1 we meet the main characters, Valentina and Justin who I immediately fell in love with. They crazy part is, Sarah has a way of writing that made it easy for me to fall in love with the supporting characters as well. Both books are also multi-POV which I already have a soft spot for.
Book 2, we meet more characters and tbh I am not quite sure how Sarah does it but like, I just know all of these male characters (the likeable ones) are smoking hot and are packing heat in their pants. (Don’t judge me)
There is some stuff that is tough to read so please check your triggers and if you are new to the series and start from book 1, I’ll tell you like Sarah told me…be patient with Valentina in the beginning. It’s rough, you’ll get angry, you’ll feel all the feels but it is worth it in the end. All triggers warnings are available on Sarah’s website.
I read Escaped Flame fairly quickly once I was able to actually sit down and take a moment to read it. It gets your heart pumping in some chapters and it’s very very hard to put down.
With that being said, I really truly am so proud of Sarah because just when I think the next book couldn’t possibly be as good as the last SHE DELIVERS SOME HEAT.
If you love mafia romances, with some steamy smut that gives “you wish that was you huh?”, some violence and smoking hot characters then this is for you.
Escaped Flame, the second book in the Tormented Symphony duet by Sarah Daniels, is a wild and action packed ride from start to finish. I was lucky enough to be able to read both Anchor Point and this arc back to back so the cliffhanger wasn't as devastating because I could keep reading. Escaped Flame picks up right where the cliffhanger left off, and the stakes are higher than ever.
Justin, the protagonist, is trapped in a dark and dangerous place, both physically and mentally. He is haunted by the death of his best friend, and he is struggling to come to terms with his own past. But Justin is determined to escape and find Valentina, the woman he loves.
The book follows Justin on his journey to freedom, and it's not easy. He faces many challenges along the way, including his own demons. But Justin is a strong and determined character, and he never gives up.
Escaped Flame is a story about love, loss, and redemption. It's also a story about self-discovery and healing. Justin must learn to forgive himself and let go of the pain of the past in order to find happiness with Valentina.
The book is very engaging and well written. I enjoyed the suspense and it kept me guessing. The characters are complex and believable, and the romance between Justin and Valentina is passionate and heartfelt.
Overall, this is a great read. And I really enjoyed it. It's a book that will stay with me now that I finish reading.
This was another brilliant read by this author! I felt like I went through so many emotions reading this one! The second book in the Tormented Symphony series and boy what a Roller coaster! Sarah always does well with making sure she has her trigger warnings so make sure you take note of these. That said, I feel like Sarah does a wonderful job in the way she writes about certain Mental Illnesses, I suffer from depression myself. Sarah does an amazing job with the depth of her characters and her storyline. It feels like there is so much going on, but she does amazing at pulling it all together! I really felt for Valentina and watch her struggling with her mental illness, but watching her work hard to overcome it was something else! Poor Justin! What he goes through it terrible and I think we all agree how much we dislike Marco! I love all of Sarah's characters. They feel like real people with real problems (aside from the Mafia aspect!!) and they're not all perfect! They do have flaws. What Justin and Valentina have is special and reading their spicy scenes are oh so hot! So are Anna's and the Phantom! I was hooked to this story and couldn’t put it down! That cliff-hanger though had me all kinds of shocked! I have in my mind how this could possibly play out and I cannot wait to find out! For lovers of Mafia/Organised crime with lots of bad a$$ characters!
Escaped Flame concludes Justin and Valentina's Duet, and you don't want to miss it!
Blurb: •Justin I don't know where I am, I don't know how long I've been gone. All I know is that I'm surrounded by darkness, and that I failed the only woman I've ever loved. I failed my best friend. Mini review: •Omg wow Sarah this was amazing!! This was definitely a dollar coaster read and I loved every bit of it!
•This book starts right where anchor point left off! While getting Cassie back, Justin was kidnapped…in this book we get to see a lot more of the phantom. After reading it I’m not quite sure who’s side the phantom was on in the end, he seemed to help at certain times for certain reasons! I loved seeing so much of Nikita in this story! She’s a feisty girl damn!
•”I finally found my power. I finally found my home. I finally found myself again.”
Book 2 of Justin and Valentina's duet picks up right where book 1's cliffhanger left us... with Justin's kidnapper getting away with him and Valentina left giving the news of what happened to Spencer and desperate to go after Justin.
Valentina's utter despair at loosing Justin was heart wrenching and she's fighting off her alter ego Nikita to boot. Meanwhile, the Phantom is doing a good job of confounding everyone and leaving messages with Valentina and Anna. There's so much we still don't know about Phantom... is he good or bad? He showed a different side of himself in this book, I'm curious to see where he pops up again in the other books of the series and finally get some answers about him.
And Lord have Mercy the way this ended up for Justin hurts... so much trauma and healing for him and Valentina to overcome together! Valentina from her manipulative abusive ex who practically held her captive and broke her down to practically nothing in book 1 and Justin from his literal wounds he got while in captivity from Marco before he met his fate. But they have each other to lean on when things get tough and a literal miracle to give them a reason to push through. So ready for Bella (Marco's sister) to have her time to shine next!
Read the trauma warnings. I am going to be honest, this book was hard for me. Now, I am not soft by any means and do enjoy some dark romance, but some of the actions of the characters I couldn’t understand. There were also tropes included that I typically don’t read..I don’t like to share(shoulder shrug), but the the first two books I read from this author had me hooked. There are multiple points of view and I had to look back at my notes from the prequel and book one to follow. A death at the beginning threw me off and made me sad because I really liked that character. I struggled with Anna, I know there are issues going on with her but I didn’t agree or like about 95% of what she did in this book. Trauma and unresolved hurts are real and can affect how we live our lives and I think we see that from both Anna and Valentina. I don’t agree with Anna lusting after the Phantom especially after the stalking and assault, because that it what it was. And the Im sad about Spencer, oh but Antonio is getting me bothered, bothers me. Be prepared for unexpected twisted and grief of circumstances changing. In all transparency, I don’t know what to expect next for these characters…I didn’t expect any of what happened in this book to occur.
Guys, I cannot hype up Sarah any more than what I already have! I have been reading for and hyping up Sarah since book 1 and she never fails to disappoint me with each new book that she releases! If you haven't started the Tormented Symphony Series, then you need to start ASAP!!!
Escaped Flame picks up with Anchor Point left off. I would still recommend reading the novella, Flash Point, before this book because it builds up the characters introduced in Anchor Point more. I don't want to give any spoilers, but Escaped Flame follows Valentina's search/rescue for her love, Justin. During this journey, she is battling her mental health and trying to take back control from her alter personality, Nikita. This book also explores the relationship between Anna and her stalker, the Phantom, while she processes her loss of Spencer.
The journey Escaped Flame takes you on is filled with heartbreak, action, romance, redemption, and suspense. But don't worry, Sarah will put your heart back together just when you think you can't take any more surprises! Just remember to PLEASE READ THE TRIGGER WARNINGS AS THERE ARE DARK SUBJECTS DISCUSSED IN THIS BOOK!!!
I cannot wait for the third book in the series, Three Alarm, to come out next year!
Book : Escaped Flame Author : Sarah Daniels Rating : ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Format : E book
Now thats a sequel to Sarah Daniel's, Anchor point. What a book ! it in no manner would dissapoint anyone who reads it after the first installment in the tormented series. This second book of the series made me realise that I have not read something like this since long time. The book is written in a seamless manner, which is the writing style of Sarah it just flows so beautifully and connects all the chapters in a really amazing way.
The characters have been brought out beautifully, This one has multiple POVs and the connection which I felt with Valentina's character while reading this one was of another level. The story begins where Anchor point ends, it starts with a lot of action and excitement. Escaped Flame is packed with action , laced with suspense, thrill and steamyness, this book is a must read for those who love having a little bit of everything in a book.
The Escaped Flame is such a great title since it resonates completely with the story, characters reflect the light, power and also the vibrance of Flames. The review would be incomplete without the mention of how wonderful the cover of this book is, it is so vibrant and bright. I would definitely recommend this book
Please make sure to check the TW before reading this book. This is a DARK romance.
I have been waiting for this book since I finished Anchor Point (and promptly screamed!). I finished this book and sat in stunned silence. This story was so intense and surprising. My jaw literally dropped at one point (once you read it, you'll know exactly where).
This story is not intended to be read as a standalone - it immediately follows the ending of Anchor Point. The book mainly focuses on Valentina and Anna. Valentina is trying to deal with the aftermath of the first book. She is struggling, but receives a lot of support from her friends and newfound family. Anna is also coping with the events from the ending of the book, but she pushes everyone away that is trying to help her. My heart broke as I read about their turmoils...but keep the faith. The story is not an easy read - it has plenty of heavy topics - but it is an absolutely stunning story.
I am always impressed by the exquisite details the author puts into her books. I am truly blown away by this book.
5⭐️ DARK mafia read. First, I want to ensure that I say this, it is imperative you check the trigger warnings. There are numerous in this book and the first one that need to be brought up.
Second, please read the first book.. well first. This one picks up RIGHT where the first book left off. You will be SO confused if you don't read Anchor Point first!
Finally, the review!
What makes this book SOO good? This story is about redemption, taking back what is rightfully yours, control, and sort of revenge. Throw some dark mafia in there, throw some spicy romance in there, throw friendship above anything else, throw some serious suspense in there, shake it all up, and you have this series SO FAR.
The first book ends in such a spot, you HAVE to continue to read to know what happens and this book stops with you saying WTH... why??? TELL ME MORE!??!?!?
This book had me smiling (albeit less often then other books), angry, and even downright emotional.
You've made me a reader of your work. I'm here for the long haul!
Please make sure you check the trigger warnings. Escaped Flame picks up right where Anchor point left off. I absolutely love Sarah’s style of writing! She’s fairly new to me but she’s definitely now an absolute favorite! I read this book as well as anchor point as an ARC. Being apart of her street team is amazing! She makes you feel like family as well as everyone else on the team! I absolutely love how much Justin loves and cares for Valentina. He’s not afraid to make himself known, he doesn’t let someone like Marco get in the way. He’s pure scum. It’s crazy to know that men like him actually exist but having someone like Justin makes you realize that there are good men out there. Valentina is a fighter. She’s strong and can hold her own but she has an army behind her willing to go to war. Her love for Justin is beautiful. There is so much darkness within these books but I absolutely love it. When you’re reading it, you can imagine yourself just watching what happens as the story unfolds.
Make sure to check out Sarah’s website for the trigger warnings.
Definitely check your trigger warnings before reading this one because there are a few sensitive subjects mentioned. This book tied up Justin and Val’s story while setting up for he future books in the series. There are a lot of plot points and points of view so it can be a bit overwhelming at times. We’ve got more death and destruction with a small amount of spice. Some people got their happily ever afters and some peoples stories haven’t even begun yet. Val does everything in her power to save her man and get the life she deserves but has to go through even more trials to finally get it. I was surprised to see a ‘zombie’ and was shocked but should have known, cockroaches never die. I enjoyed seeing more of the phantom and can’t wait for that reveal. Everyone seems to know him when they are drugged or hurt but not any other time. I have my suspicions from book 1 and they just got even more honed in on one person in this book.
Before I get into my review... I highly encourage you to look at the trigger warnings because this book touches on some heavy issues so please look at the trigger warnings before reading this book. This is in a multi-POV (more than two characters). This book was an amazing sequel to Anchor Point as it picks up right where Anchor Point left off. On a quick personal level, this book really spoke to me...especially with what Valentina was going through on an emotional level. This book will break you down and build you up; there were so many amazing scenes that it's impossible for me to pick a favorite. The twists and turns alone will have you turning the pages until the very end. The spice scenes were on another level! I love how Sarah Daniels writes her stories. Between how the characters, world building and plot are written; it's so easy to lose yourself within the pages and feel like you're apart of the story.
Do you like dark Mafia romance? Sexy men? Action? Feeling so many emotions while you read? (Seriously like all of the emotions) then Escaped Flame is for you. This is book 2 in the series and you HAVE to read Anchor Point first (but it's just as amazing).
Valentina is a victim of domestic violence who gets some information that changes her whole life.
Justin is her best friend that has always loved her but didn't want to complicate things.
@author.sarah.daniels seriously puts you through every emotion with this series and had me yelling.
This story is mostly made up of Justin and Valentina's but there's a sprinkle, just a taste, of what's left to come in this series.
We've got Mafia romance. Sexy as fuck men. Friends to lovers. Multiple POVs. Found family. Violence. Obsessive Masked Stalker. And so much more!
