Sweet Nothing: An Elemental Case for Taking Our Time

Rate this book
Sweet Nothing is an eco-feminist, spiritual and philosophical lament against the increasing speed and fragmentation of modern life. It draws parallels between some of the central ideas of existential phenomenology, psychoanalysis and neo-pagan spirituality, in order to make a case for the slowing down of Being. A philosophical memoir, powerfully woven together by a personal narrative of the Italian immigrant experience.

Insightful, clear prose. Subtle and beautiful organization. Worth reading if you are interested in topics like phenomenology, mind-body problem, re-enchantment, scientism, realism, theory of psychoanalysis/therapy.
