The Detective Boys and Hiroshi Agasa want to make a ski trip. On the way there, they take the bus and Tomoaki Araide and Jodie Starling get on, too. Shuichi Akai is also one of the passengers. Ai Haibara suddenly feel the aura of an black organization member. Suddenly the bus is hijacked by two armed men. The hijacker calls the office of the bus service and demand the release of Kunio Yashima, who was arrested for robbery. Conan is immediately clear that this must be his accomplices, who want the preys of the robbery because they are not know where Yashima has hidden them. With its inconspicuous Earring Cellphone Conan tries to inform the police, but in vain, as the kidnappers stands with a drawn weapon before him. Someone has betrayed him.
Gosho Aoyama (青山剛昌) is a Japanese manga artist. He is best known as the creator of the manga series Detective Conan (known in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom as Case Closed).
Aoyama made his debut as a manga artist with the work Chotto Matte which was published in the weekly magazine Shōnen Sunday on winter of 1987. Shortly after that, another work by Aoyama, Magic Kaito, was published on the same magazine.
There are 3 mysteries in this volume and perhaps another that is a continuation from earlier volumes (plus the mystery that changed Jimmy into Conan).
The first and second were mediocre; the resolution was presented too quickly and was not entirely clear. The third was quite good (which sports hero killed the gossip reporter).
These are always a nice break from the usual manga genres.
1. the fact is Detective Maguire is married to that girl he saved 18 years ago is just heartwarming. 2. I love when the case involves either Sato and Takagi or Heji and Kazuha! 3. I WANT HEIJI TO INVITE ME TO OSAKA! 4. the bus case..omg how can conan not see that the teacher is one of the black organization! 5. conan kept explaining everything to the teacher that i hope that she did not suspect him. 6. People say Anita is a bit bothersome but still i see her reactions so far are reasonable for someone who have worked for the Black Org. all in all, another amazing volume, i love when we see new sides to our characters! the thing about conan getting a 5 star because when reading it, I’m in a whole world solving cases, so thats why this series is best read when you need to have an AU(Alternative Universe) to your mind.
The variety and uniqueness of the cases in this one made it a fun read! It felt like more of a break from the usual style of cases, for all of them, and that was enjoyable. (And come on, those puppers were so cute!)
Case 1: Continues where the previous volume left off.
Conan has to put the pieces together to find out the serial attacker, and now murderer, before any other women get hurt. However, just as he realizes the killer, he notices Sonoko is missing and is his next target.
The motivations for this person was W.I.L.D. Like I absolutely empathize with their anger, but it was directed at the wrong thing. But I loved the side-back-story of Megure and the little twist at the end with it. Seeing Sonoko land a hit was awesome to see too (you go girl!). Megure in general was really sweet in this case, it was nice to see this side of him.
Case 2: Conan, Dr. Agasa, and the Detective Kids are excited in going on a ski trip. As they board the bus to make their way there, plans are turned upside down as hijackers take over and threaten to kill them all.
I LOVED this one. The suspense was intense, with the Black Organization teased at the start, Ai's panic on the bus (my heart when Conan was so protective of her ;o; ), and how everyone is trapped one a fast-moving vehicle with gunmen. We also see the return of the English teacher--Judy. But also a new mysterious character.
Case 3: Dr. Agasa, Conan, and the Detective Kids visit an associate's yard sale. To the delight of the kids, the man owned two adorable dogs. While others drop by to check out the goods as well, in the midst of the chatter, one dog goes missing.
Ending that first chapter on THAT NOTE. I was ready to murder myself lmao. I never read so fast xD Goodness. There's been a dognapping! All the adults and kids searched the house to find the poor thing and figure out what happened. All the while, Ai is struggling with her trauma from the bus. What a random but silly little case. It was rather refreshing though to read something so innocent. Please be careful about feeding your dogs too much cheese though ^^;
Case 4: Harley invites Conan, Richard, and Rachel out to a dinner where they have the opportunity to meet three world famous sports players (a boxer, baseball, and soccer player). The festivities are interrupted, however, as a journalist is murdered. Harley and Conan now have to work together to solve the crime, but can Conan see past his biases for the truth?
The case was less interesting to me than seeing Harley and Conan interact and how they're each handling it. Conan couldn't be any more excited to see one of his idols right in front of him, but he struggles to consider that he could be a suspect. It's a different side of Conan that we don't really see. And I loved the bonding of the two boys. <3 Also reading the English in this was pretty funny. It wasn't straight up wrong, but it was still awkwardly not natural, haha.
My favorite of the cases was probably the bus one. I just loved the intensity of it. The dog case right after was also insanely cute. Great addition to the series. Fingers crossed our boy gets turned back to normal one day, but I know I've still got a long way to go first x'D
For Japanese Learners:
Check my previous review on book two for more info. This is a series, so things are gonna be consistent.
In the latest volume of Case Closed we kick off with the continuation of the murder at the mall story. I don't want to be mean, but some of the dialogue just wasn't up to par for me. The discussion of something being weird about the woman who was murdered just seemed off and odd. Still, solid case. The next case is a hijacking of a bus with Detective Conan and Anita onboard! I found this one compelling and definitely feels like there will be more to add on later to this story. Next we have a very first story...a case of a murdered dog!!! The final story of the volume deals with the murder of a tabloid writer. This is a fun story for sports fans and is an excellent way to end the volume and without a cliff-hanger so next volume will begin a brand new case...which I love!
A fantastic volume of legitimately varied plots and mysteries. The volume starts off continuing the ganguro murder investigation that also ties into Inspector Megure's first case as a rookie detective... And the next case relates to a bus hijacking involving the junior detective league and a run-in with a dangerous member of the Black Organization. The other two cases involve a missing dog at an estate giveaway and then a trip to Osaka to a restaurant opening that ends in a murder with multiple likely suspects.
Trigger warning: the last case centers around drug addiction specifically heroin
(individual ratings and comments coming later but - first of all: SHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that is all. see you later with more indepth thoughts)

Conclusion of fashion women murders, where Megure's past influences him, and Sonoko is targeted! Next is Conan and the junior detective league is trapped on a bus with terrorists and Ai recognizes one of the passengers as a member of the organization. The next case involves a dog kidnapping - the dog is a Papillion and that's just wrong! The last story involves Hattori Heiji where Conan gets to meet one of his sports idols - then has to solve a case when a journalist is murdered.
Mostly really enjoyed this volume. I wasn't a fan of the last case. But the bus jacker case and even the dog case were good. The bus jacker case reminded me of a movie I watched once (that I'm sure is super well-known, but can't for the life of me remember the title), and one episode of a cop drama series I used to watch a lot (again, can't remember what show it was). The dog case was kind of quirky, and a bit of an anomaly for this series, so that was nice.
Case 1: the murder of a woman in a parking garage is solved. Though Sonoko is in danger. A secret of Inspector Megure is unveiled. Case 2: An expensive dog goes missing in his home. Though he seems to be still in the house. Case 3: A new restaurant is opening in Osaka. a journalist is being murdered and the suspects are the owners. Conan solves to crime but pays a personal prize for it.

In this volume several chapters dedicated to Vermouth. Ai is very scared when she realizes someone of the organization is on the bus. Exciting chapters that make a character better known and add to the horizontal plot. Good memories. Seeing Conan disappointed for his idol was different. Excellent detective pair with Heiji. Kazua and Ran funny.
Banyak yang menegangkan juga di sini. Kasus yamamba yang Sonokonya dikejer-kejer pembunuh, sama kasus pengeboman bus. Ah lagi-lagi Conan sama Ai so sweet. Ada penampakan sexy+kakkoi dari Vermouth. Salah satu favoritku!
3/5 Quite fun. It was nice to see a different side to Conan, and the sweet relationship to Heiji. It was also refreshing, albeit kind of random, to have the case of a missing dog in the middle of more serious cases.
General Synopsis: As mentioned above, I am going to write a proper review for this soon, but I have a few books ahead of this one in the queue, so I cannot stop reading DC NOW! That's sacrilege. I have decided to read all the chapters available up to now (we are almost to 1000!) As you can see, I am totally fangirling over here and I don't care, because this is one of my favorite manga series, ever! But all of this aside, there are a few things I wanted to list so I don't need to go back and look everything up when I do finally sit down and write my fangirl review. ✌🏻
DO NOT click on the spoiler link if you don't want to read all the cases in this volume, because it will ruin it for you. On the other hand, if you're a fan like me or are looking for a certain case (and please note, these are how I have set the cases), etc. click away, that's why it's there.
Another spoiler link, so don't click if you don't want to ruin this manga. I am going to include the characters introduced or as the series continues are in this volume. Personally, I think us DC fans love certain characters more than other (yes, Heiji, I mean you!), so sometimes when we are re-reading this series (like all the time!) you might wish to start at a specific case or start when a certain character is involved.
Characters in this volume:
Personal Opinion: #1, I never call this CASE CLOSED. If you do, you're not a true fan of this series, so don't even bother reading my review or my personal opinions. I'm sorry if I offend you, but you offended me first by telling me you want to read CASE CLOSED or you just love Jimmy.
#2, as you can tell by #1, I read this online. I would never waste my money buying a manga series in english that cannot get the name correct and mess up the main characters to make it appear more "ENGLISH." I am so happy I don't run a blog and this isn't a review on Sailor Moon, #1, because I have a huge soap box tirade against DiC. I also don't think there is anything against reading something online. Comics, which is what manga are, are meant to be read and shared and sometimes paying over $10 is too much in my opinion. Plus, I read the newest chapters as soon as they are released from Japan, because I would never miss a release of DC. So this is my personal shout out to you translators from me, Thank You!
