Spencer

I'm not the kind of man that women keep. I am not gentle, romantic, or a generous lover... I'm rough, intense, and I fuck, then go separate ways. Being forced to secretly work for Marco De La Rosa, leader of the Calaveras Negras, was hell, but manageable, until she came around. Detective Anna Graham is everything I want, and everything I'll never be able to have. Once I get a taste of her, I become addicted. But my secrets will ruin her, will ruin us. That can't happen. She can never know what I've done…

Anna

Life hasn't been the kindest to me. My husband was murdered while on duty with the FBI, leaving me lost and alone. To make ends meet, I fight in underground MMA competitions and train with Spencer West. The most arrogant asshole in the fire department... Also, the hottest man I have ever laid eyes on. I finally give into temptation, and I can't get enough. His darkness feels like home, and I'm torn between my desires and my sanity. I have to make him mine; I can’t lose the person I have become, but I can’t lose him either…

⚠️ please check tw before reading. this is a dark romance & has a lot of sensitive topics that may not be suitable for some people ⚠️

anna is a detective that is investigating the cartel that murdered her husband. she does underground mma fighting when she’s not working. she recently has learned she has a stalker, but hasn’t told anyone yet, not even her partner gabriel. spencer is a firefighter/paramedic & anna’s mma coach. he is still struggling to cope with his ptsd (ex military). anna & spencer have feelings for each other, but spencer has trouble fully committing, because he’s worried that anna is in danger from people from another part of his life that she doesn’t know about.

this is the prequel novella for anchor point. i think it would probably be best to read anchor point and then flash point, because you’re introduced to the characters in anchor point.

the majority of this novella follows anna & spencer’s troubled relationship/situationship. a lot of backstory is explained for both main characters, which helps to provide a better understanding of them both. the stalker adds an element of thrill to the book. the most intense/main part of the book happens within the last two chapters. there is a time hop of 3 months later, which helps to set up the plot for anchor point. the end scenes were fairly quick, compared to the rest of the book. i do wish a little more of this had been explained. at the end you’re left with many questions (about spencer, anna, and her stalker - the phantom).

i’m excited to read anchor point & get some more information! i do think it would be beneficial to read anchor point prior to reading flash point. this may have led to a different reading experience for flash point, because some of the questions that i have now (at the end of flash point) may have been answered!

Loved to get Anna and Spencer’s story!

Anna is going through some past trama and is a badass cop who does MMA!
She has feelings for Spencer but he is keeping her at arm’s length, oh and she has a stalker and she hasn’t told anyone about him.

Spencer is a firefighter who is in love with Ana. He suffers from PTSD (he is a veteran), and he is caught up with the cartel and is trying to stay away from Anna because he doesn’t want his past secrets to come to the surface.

That stalker is crazy and he also works for the cartel!

WOW!!!! This is Spencer & Anna's backstory !

Even though this is a prequel, you should definitely read Anchor Point first, so you can understand the rest of what's happening!

Anna is an MMA fighting bad-a$$ cop working thru some major past trauma.

Spencer is the firefighter trainer for Anna's MMA matches. He has a secret she can not know !
They are pure 🔥 together.

The Phantom is a smoking hot killer for the cartel who wants Anna for his own !

I can't say much without giving away spoilers, but those last few chapters 🥵🔥🥰!

You really need to read this now!!

Flash Point is a standalone prequel novella in the Tormented Symphony Series, following Spencer and Anna. This is a dark read, please check trigger warnings, available on Sarah's website. (It is not required to read Anchor Point first, but recommended)

This novella was PERFECT! Everything my soul needed after reading Anchor Point! It was so nice to get Spencer and Anna’s back story. I feel like I’ve grown to love them both so much.

We also get introduced to the Phantom character and oh my god 🥵 I MUST KNOW WHO HE IS! 🌹

Overall, amazing work done by @author.sarah.daniels

Loved this novella about Anna and Spencer! You get to know them and their dynamic/relationship more.

This is such a spicy, dark romance story. Anna is investigating the murder of her husband. She has a stalker, the Phantom. Holy moly, if you set aside that he is a serial killer, he is hot, possessive and fine piece of men. I loved that we got a insight in his thought process in his pov.

Spencer is a firefighter/paramedic who suffers from PTSD from his time in the military. If that is not enough, he is also involved with the cartel that murdered Anna's husband.

Their relationship is toxic with a lot of spice. Spencer doesn't want to get close to Anna because of the cartel. He also doesn't believe that he deserves her. Anna doesn't want to get to close to Spencer because she is afraid that she will get hurt. Even though their relationship is sometimes dysfunctional, they have a primaire need for each other.

•Anna is a bad ass cop and an MMA fighter working through past trauma. She has feelings for Spencer but isn’t letting herself get attached. She also has a stalker who she hasn’t told anyone about…
Spencer is in love with Anna but has a secret he doesn’t want her to know so he is trying not to get too attached to her.

❤️ My Thoughts ❤️

*Mind your triggers*

If you have not read Anchor Point, I would highly suggest reading that prior to reading this novella. This novella is with firefighter/ paramedic Spencer and Dective Anna Graham. Anna is also involved with some underground boxing. And let me tell you, she will is good! Anna is amazing. Spencer is her coach, and he can coach me anyway he wants to.. We get to see a bit of both their dominant personalities come out to play here, but we also get to see Spencer submissive. We get a glimpse of the Phantom in this book as well, and holy cow I need me a stalker like him, just not in real life. I really enjoyed this book. It's got a ton of spice in like. My only downside is that I love a book with a good plot. And while I did love this novella and the writing was top notch, I was missing a good plot. Was there some plot? Yes, it just wasn't enough for me to give a 5 star review. I did love it, though, and I'm so impressed. This is Sarah's 2nd book she's releasing. Her writing doesn't show that she's new to this.

First of all, thank you Sarah Daniels for this ARC! It was a fantastic follow up to Anchor Point.

‼️PLEASE CHECK TRIGGERS THIS IS A DARK ROMANCE‼️

If you have not read Anchor Point, book 1 of the Tormented Symphony Series I suggest you do prior to reading this novella.

Flash Point follows the backstory of Spencer and Anna’s relationship prior to all the chaos and shenanigans that take place in Anchor Point.

Now, after reading Anchor Point I loved me some Spencer (and his fondness for pancakes), but now from AP and now Flash Point…I AM OBSESSED WITH ANNA. The two together, ugh so good.

Even though they were side characters in Anchor Point, they were strong top tier side characters that left me questioning a lot.
This fast pace read helped me better understand the history and relationship of Spencer and Anna and my questions were answered fully.

This was a perfect filler tease that was much needed after the gut punch delivered by book one.
Now I am just counting down the seconds for book two!

**CHECK TRIGGER WARNINGS**

This is #1.5 in the Tormented Symphony series; prequel novella to the first book in the series, Anchor Point. However, I would recommend reading Anchor Point first to better understand what is going on, and some of the characters that are mentioned in the novella. In this, we get the backstory of Spencer and Anna who we are introduced to in Anchor Point.

It is definitely dark, but I am all for some dark romance. This novella was the perfect addition to the series to get that better understanding of the relationship between Spencer and Anna and where it all began. Especially after reading Anchor Point and not really knowing why they are the way they are towards each other. And the SPICE. Gahhhhhhh almighty. Here I was reading this at work 😂😂

There is a lot that goes on in this short story. But it added so much to the already great series!

Thank you Sarah Daniels for the ARC, and I cannot wait for the next book in the series.

This novella packs a punch. It’s deep, emotional, heavy, dark, SPICY, and fast paced. Be sure to check TW/CW.

This is a standalone that takes place a few months prior to Anchor Point. If you haven’t read Anchor Point yet it’s okay. But I have a feeling once you read this you’ll want more.

I did read Anchor Point first and found myself with some questions about Spencer and Anna’s backstory. This novella answered several of them. But I now have some new ones.

Anna and Spencer's relationship is their own and it’s unique. I don’t really have any other way to put it. They have a lot going on as individuals but are still willing to put the other first. They have love, chemistry, but also are sort of dysfunctional. I was a bit of a wreck while reading and even after. They go through a lot. It's real and it’s going to hurt. But I still want more. I can’t wait for the next book in this series.

There’s definitely more I want to say but I don’t want to spoil anything either 😬

ARC REVIEW

Flash Point is a novella part of the Tormented Symphony series.

This novella is focused on Anna and Spencer and takes place before the events of Anchor Point. With this novella, there are a lot of answered questions that those that read Anchor Point may have to when it comes to Anna and Spencer’s relationship. However, it also leaves you with more questions that you hope you get answers too in the second book. As Anchor Point, please be mindful of the triggers warnings and proceed accordingly. I have said this before, this us NOT for you if you are looking for light and sweet.

I liked that this novella was such a quick read and it was a bit more mild on the events happening, meaning, there was not a lot of happening that could overwhelm your brain. After reading the first book and having been blown away, it was nice to still be in the same world but a little bit more calm. I am most definitely ready for book 2 and know what happens next.

Thanks to Sarah for providing and ARC copy of this, I enjoyed it very much.

Flash Point is a novella that occurs a few months before Anchor Point. It primarily features Spencer and Anna. The two are mad for each other but they're also so damaged from their past. Anna's husband was murdered and she suffers from depression, and Spencer served in the military and suffers from PTSD. They provide one another with comfort but there's always something coming between them... including the Phantom. We still have no clue who he is, but we now have additional insight into his character and what he is capable of doing. In a word... evil!

Daniels' characters are incredibly well written, and all too relatable. This read was too fast and did not help appease the need for the second book in this series, which is not expected for at least a few more months. Hurry up, Sarah! :)

Knockout

Highly advised to read Anchor Point before diving into this novella, even though this book takes place a few months prior to the events in Anchor Point.

Anna is a total badass, hottie detective, and I kind of want to be like her when I grow up. Spencer is a swoon worthy, panty melting firefighter, and his character art completed the image in my head perfectly. However, after reading this book, I am ready to shake some sense into him!

Then there is The Phantom… kind of scary but also kind of makes me want to take my clothes off… I have so many questions!

Overall, this book is an amazing supplement to Anchor Point and has me even more pumped for Escaped Flame! Also, the graphics and art in the book were an awesome touch. I especially liked the way the letter came through.

Check the trigger warnings before reading any of the books in this series.

📖 Flash Point By Sarah Daniels 📖

Overall Rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

My Thoughts ~ I was so excited after reading Anchor Point to get more of Spencer and Anna, Sarah did not disappoint and delivered us a scrumptious novella filled with all the juicy moments between them that I craved. Anna is such a bad ass strong woman and Spencer has this hard outer shell of a bad boy but this puppy dog interior. Their chemistry is on fire👌 This book was a very short novella and it was full to the brim of spice but it was still well balanced with the original plot of Spencer and Anna before Anchor Point. There were still some heavy things to work through in this book and very heartbreaking things to read about but Sarah wrote everything so well. I was definitely on the edge of my seat towards the end.
I can’t wait to continue reading on in this series/ her books in general.

I’m stunned. Once again. I was super lucky to receive an arc for this book and it didn’t disappoint. It was short, sweet, spicy and packed a punch! I loved everything about it. Spencer has my whole heart, he’s such a damaged soul but loves with his whole being and I couldn’t ask for a better character and Anna? Well.. she’s so badass I’m obsessed. She deserves all the love in world and I truly hope she gets it. The tension between Spencer and Anna is something of beauty. It was so refreshing to see points of PTSD/Depression/Loss as someone who suffers with these, I find it comforting to see a character also battle those struggles and it really made me connect with them.

I can’t wait to see how this story progresses, I’m constantly left wanting more.

Whew buddy. When I said I didn't think that Anchor Point needed a prequel, I was WRONG. This book was FIRE. I am burnt. Crispy. Stood waaaay too close to the fire. This story was HOT, HOT, HOT.

Spencer was my favorite character from Anchor Point. The protective alpha, but also the sweet broken man on the inside. And this back story for him and Anna was more than I knew I needed. It had spice (check your triggers) and the spice was spicy. So deliciously spicy. And I feel like I really have a better grasp on them as characters and their stories and why they are the way they are in Anchor Point. This novella was a quick and easy read, and makes me even that much more excited for the next book in this world!

This was a very quick read and a very steamy one. The spice starts within a few pages and carries on throughout the novella. Both main characters, Anna and Spencer, have their own mental health issues which are touched on in certain parts. Anna is an FBI agent who lost her husband because of a man named Marco, who Spencer is employed by. This is one of Spencer’s secrets and reasons why they cannot be together. I feel like he had more secrets that kept getting hinted at but never came out in the story. I feel like Anna and Spencer had terrible communication, they solved every issue with sex and never resolved anything. Anna has a secret admirer/stalker whose point of view, comes towards the end of the book. There is violence and sexual assault so check your trigger warnings before reading.

Thank you so much Sarah Daniels for the arc my first arc and I wasn't disappointed. Please read and check triggers. It's a spicy dark romance novella that has your favorites, fireman ✔️ detective ✔️ motorbikes shenanigans ✔️✔️.

It's such a quick read but boy sure does pack a punch, it gives us an insight to the two amazing characters from Anchor point. Definetly recommend to read the first one. Anna is a cop/detective and Spencer is a fire fighter.

My favorite quote is "Tears began to fall down my own face as my darkness collided with his, fitting together like 2 broken halves of a puzzle piece to finally fit in its spot in this world."

Definitely getting a physical copy to add to my bookshelf, wish it was longer and it has a playlist!!

Flashpoint is a prequel to Sarah Daniels's Anchor POint, from the Tournmented Symphony series.

💀 Badass FMC
🔥 Fast Paced Story
💀 Lots of Spice
🔥 Bit of mystery
💀 Obsession

Flashpoint follows Spencer and Anna before the events of Anchor Point, and navigates the start of their "more than friends" relationship. FP definitely leaves you with a "wanting more" feeling, with open ended scenes and loose ends!
Even if you haven't read Anchor Point, this novella works as a nice little introduction into who Spencer and Anna are, context into their dynamic and sets up the events for AP.

Flashpoint is emotional, dark and spicy, and i'm here for it!

I was incredibly lucky to receive this book as an arc.
Sarah Daniels writing is a MUST READ!
Make sure to please check your triggers before reading.

This follows Spencer and Anna. The detective / firefighter. Their story is 🔥. Both Anna and Spencer have trauma from their pasts.
Spencer has PTSD from serving in the military and Anna is a widow.
Can Spencer and Anna work past their trauma and become the much needed couple they want to be? Will they ever find out who is Anna’s stalker?

You don’t want to miss all the spice that happens in Flash Point and you will definitely need to follow up with Anchor Point.

Such a badass story with full on spice and badass characters who make you keep wanting more!

“My heart aches for him..My damaged hero.”

Please read the trigger warnings before starting.
This is a prequel novella. It’s is a very quick read with lots of action and very very steamy moments. Anna is a detective by day and fighter by night. I don’t know how she has the energy. Spencer is the hot firefighter, gym owner and coach in Anna’s life and their chemistry is well…what’s past steamy. There are twist and turns, a suspicious parter and someone who is obviously very creepily stalking her. The is some trauma that involves Anna and it was so hard to read. I had so many questions…did she tell anyone? Did she get help. We are left on a cliffhanger and I’m going try to be patient to what to see what happened between these two!

After the emotional hold Anchor Point had on me, I was absolutely thrilled when Sarag announced she had written a novella for the series. This takes place prior to Anchor Point, but doesn't contain any spoilers.

This book focuses on Anna and Spencer and explores their feelings and attraction for one another. Anna, a police officer, spars in underground matches and Spencer, a pancake loving fire fighter, is her coach. Both of them have been broken by past events - for Anna, it was losing her husband in a brutal way and for Spencer, it is PTSD from his time in the military.

These two come together to try to forget and just feel...but secrets and unwelcome attention from the masked Phantom, an associate of one of Anna's fiercest rivals, Marco, make it difficult to find happiness.

I felt so drawn to these characters from Anchor Point and was thrilled to get more of their back story. A quick read, but oh so satisfying!

Good quick read. Plenty of spice. Gives us a bit more background in Spencer and Anna from Anchor Point.
They're both tortured souls and they have a rough past dealing with depression and PTSD. Despite this, they are both strong characters. I liked these 2 together and this adds another layer of intrigue to the whole story.
The mystery around what is happening to Anna makes it all the more interesting, why it's happening and who.
Really well written and I really hope that this isn't the end for these two. I hope they can sort their demons out and find a way to be together.
Looking forward to the next instalment from the Tormented Symphony series

What a fantastic Novella that gives you all the heat to rev you up for this series!

The characters have off the charts chemistry and you just want them to get over it and get together but of course there are other things going on that pull each of them in their own direction.

Total badass of a FMC with her underground MMA skills. Extremely hot firefighter who happens to be her trainer and then more.

Then you have a stalker who is getting way too close for comfort and has a few motives, you have the sketchy partner of the detective who is on his phone non stop and there is a lot of plot going on!

This quick novella doesn't fail to draw you in and leave you wanting all the answers.

ARC reader review.

READ THE TRIGGER WARNINGS! This book won’t be for everyone! After reading Anchor Point this book made me fall more in love with Spencer and Anna. For be both books were quick reads but this book is at a calmer pace. There is a lot happening but not all at once. We find out why Spencer kept saying they couldn’t be together. Boy just needs to get out of his own head. Haha. Anna is the quintessential female badass who is dealing with her own crap but who wants to be there for her friends. We get more of an introduction to who Phantom is and what he has to do with the story. Thank you Sarah for providing an arc copy, I can’t wait to see what happens next in the story.

You really can’t read this without reading Anchor Point. Yes it’s different characters but the story starts in the middle and ends abruptly. Also worth nothing that although the non-con does not happen between the MCs….the FMC is very involved and there is a full description of what happens in this book. Why rate it three stars than you ask? because it was HOT HOT HOT! Although you get sick of Spencer’s indecision he makes up for it by being so damn fine!! And a submissive too??? Well that’s a fun twist!

I can’t. This novella was amazing. Fast paced, lots of spice, lots of SPENCER🥵
Several dark scenes so read trigger warnings.
Most novellas bore me because they’re usually just in another POV or drag out. But this story was very catchy, fast paced, easy to stay in. I read it in one day between kid stuff.
I didn’t think any characters can beat Valentina and Justin because well they’re the main characters. But I can personally relate to the Spencer/Anna relationship more and I’m obsessed.
I CANNOT wait for book 2.
