A boy and his dog... a girl and her Ouija board... and her spirit guide

Danny's world is on the verge of falling apart. His father has been sent to war in Iraq, and his mother is close to snapping. All he has is his rescue dog Rocky.

When Danny sees Tina, his mysterious new neighbor, he is instantly drawn to her. Together they use her Ouija board to connect with the spirit world. But Danny soon finds himself targeted by Gustav, a sailor who met his fate centuries before Danny's birth.

With his home life threatening to disintegrate, Danny falls hard for Tina. As he's pulled deeper into her Ouija board games, can he protect himself from Gustav and his dark malevolence?

Always Mine follows Danny and his dog during the summer they meet Tina, the mysterious neighbor with a Ouija board and a malevolent ghost named Gustav.

These four collide and the result is gripping. You won't put the book down until the end.

Danny's journey with Tina is the book's central story, but I found Mr. Singer's exploration of the relationships Danny had with his mother - positively frightening - and his dog - absolutely heartbreaking - to be even more compelling.

A great read for teens and adults alike, you cannot go wrong by opening up this little book and getting lost in Danny's world for a bit.
