Gosho Aoyama (青山剛昌) is a Japanese manga artist. He is best known as the creator of the manga series Detective Conan (known in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom as Case Closed).
Aoyama made his debut as a manga artist with the work Chotto Matte which was published in the weekly magazine Shōnen Sunday on winter of 1987. Shortly after that, another work by Aoyama, Magic Kaito, was published on the same magazine.
475 chapters finished 45 volumes completed still have more than 500 chapters. God, hope Aoyama will stop at chapter 1000. If I was up to date with the manga i wouldn't have minded, probably. But for now.. I do love the characters, a lot, however to think that i still have 500 chapters? God, I hope i'll finish them in less than a year.
1. We continue to the case of Mr. Nose the famous baseball player who got killed. And the best thing about this case is we know the killer before hand also I think motoyama is like part of the black org but je ne sais pas 🤷♀️
2. The next two case is with the little kids which is not always as exciting as having Heiji or kaito kid or takagi&sato but it’s a good read.
3. We reach the last case when they all to stargaze and how Conan asked Anita to fake stomach pain and she asked for a fusae purse in return !! RIGHT ON GIRL!
Conclusion of the ghost at school case. Next Dr Agasa takes the junior detectives fishing, only to discover a fisherman on the pier has been poisoned - how and who could have do this right in front of everyone? Next case involved Mouri interviewing with a baseball player, only to discover his dead body on the side of the road on their way to the interview, and Conan tries to solve the case without putting Mouri to sleep! The last case has Dr Agasa taking the junior detectives to a resort to do some star gazing, only to discover bones outside with a cluster of cigarettes that seems to form a death message pointing to the killer! There are a few stories where the victim leaves a message for someone to discover that reveals who the killer is, but as you lay dying how likely are you to come up with a perfectly confusing puzzle for Conan to figure out? Just write the name down, for heaven's sake!
This volume kicks off with a continuation of the school ghost story from last volume that started at the end of volume 44. The next case involves the Junior detectives and the surprise poisoning of a lovable older gentleman by the name of Mr. Ejiri. The next story shows you the murder at the very beginning of the story, and now its up to Detective Conan to break this iron clad alibi. As this case comes to an end...it seems to open up a greater mystery! The final case of this volume has us looking in on what may just be the work of a serial killer!!! What is the clue that the cigarettes' leave behind. As per usual, a cliff-hanger ends this volume.

Surprisingly, Mr. Mouri solved the case with Motoyama and Nose. Even though this was because he had Conan's help, it really astonishes me when he is able to deduce the right solution.
But why did Conan have the sudden feeling of Vermouth's resemblance? What was in Motoyama's manner of calling?

General Synopsis: As mentioned above, I am going to write a proper review for this soon, but I have a few books ahead of this one in the queue, so I cannot stop reading DC NOW! That's sacrilege. I have decided to read all the chapters available up to now (we are almost to 1000!) As you can see, I am totally fangirling over here and I don't care, because this is one of my favorite manga series, ever! But all of this aside, there are a few things I wanted to list so I don't need to go back and look everything up when I do finally sit down and write my fangirl review. ✌🏻
DO NOT click on the spoiler link if you don't want to read all the cases in this volume, because it will ruin it for you. On the other hand, if you're a fan like me or are looking for a certain case (and please note, these are how I have set the cases), etc. click away, that's why it's there.
Another spoiler link, so don't click if you don't want to ruin this manga. I am going to include the characters introduced or as the series continues are in this volume. Personally, I think us DC fans love certain characters more than other (yes, Heiji, I mean you!), so sometimes when we are re-reading this series (like all the time!) you might wish to start at a specific case or start when a certain character is involved.
Characters in this volume:
Personal Opinion: #1, I never call this CASE CLOSED. If you do, you're not a true fan of this series, so don't even bother reading my review or my personal opinions. I'm sorry if I offend you, but you offended me first by telling me you want to read CASE CLOSED or you just love Jimmy.
#2, as you can tell by #1, I read this online. I would never waste my money buying a manga series in english that cannot get the name correct and mess up the main characters to make it appear more "ENGLISH." I am so happy I don't run a blog and this isn't a review on Sailor Moon, #1, because I have a huge soap box tirade against DiC. I also don't think there is anything against reading something online. Comics, which is what manga are, are meant to be read and shared and sometimes paying over $10 is too much in my opinion. Plus, I read the newest chapters as soon as they are released from Japan, because I would never miss a release of DC. So this is my personal shout out to you translators from me, Thank You!
~ Perbualan Kumpulan Penyiasat Remaja ni dah macam bukan budak sekolah rendah lagi. Aiyoo tak logik langsung. Kerap pulak tu diorang mengembara.
We start this volume with the continuation and conclusion of the school ghost mystery. It turns out to be a friend of the deceased that did all the scaring at the school. He felt that his friend needed some closure, and that this was the best way to achieve it. But, after everyone explained to him that his friend had no grudges against anyone when he died, his friend stopped it. -------------------------- Next, we move on to a mystery about a fisherman and his friends. The fisherman ends up having been poisoned, and a jealous friend, who had a crush on his ex-wife did it because he could not stand things that the fisherman said about her. The fisherman agrees to let it go as long as they catch him plenty of fish, and all ends well. -------------------------- The final mystery starts in this volume, but does not conclude. What starts as a simple stargazing trip for Conan and friends becomes a murder investigation, when the junior detectives find a body in the woods. But, who murder Asao? Everyone seems to have a reason to have done so. But, only one seems to confess, and he ends up dead as well. And, he seems to have been framed. Is it Asao's heartbroken ex-wife? Is it the hotel owner? Is it the astrology magazine owner? Read the next volume to find out! ---------------------------- ---------------------------- This volume was provided to me by VIZ Media via Edelweiss as an eARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed here are my own. ---------------------------- ---------------------------- Also, this might not be important, since it was a thought and not said aloud. But, I noticed Anita thought "Jimmy, what have you stumbled upon?" in this volume. I thought nobody was supposed to know that Conan is Jimmy. Also, Conan seems to pay special attention to Anita more often now. Maybe, something is up between them.
THE HAUNTING OF TEITAN HIGH: A GHOSTLY GRUDGE OR CLEVER DECEPTION? Ran, Sonoko, and Conan investigate eerie occurrences at Teitan High, rumored to be caused by a vengeful student's ghost. With Dr. Araide joining the inquiry, they uncover unsettling clues—an out-of-place desk, and an ominous note left untouched by the rain. But with no footprints in the mud, Conan begins to suspect a hidden hand behind the so-called ghostly terror.
DEADLY CATCH: A FISHING TRIP TURNS FATAL A peaceful fishing outing for the Detective Boys turns into a sinister murder scene when one of four people fishing with them in the same location collapses from poisoning. As panic sets in, Conan sharpens his focus, knowing the murderer is among them. With limited suspects and a remote location, he must untangle the method behind the crime before the culprit slips away.
THE BASEBALL STAR’S LAST PLAY: A MURDER IN OKINAWA On a trip to Okinawa for an interview with baseball legend Toshio Nose, Conan, Ran, and Kogoro stumble upon a shocking scene—Nose lying lifeless on the street. Conan's suspicions turn to Motoyama, a man whose strangely precise reaction to the discovery hints at prior knowledge of the crime. But with an alibi placing him on a flight during the murder, Conan must unravel the timeline to expose a meticulously planned deception.
I'm essentially never going to be unbiased about the Case Closed manga, because any volume that includes the leitmotif of "Anita gradually accepts that she is not the monster she was made to think she was and slowly comes closer to being a normal girl"--which is to say, most every volume since her appearance--is going to be an automatic 'win!' to me. That said, this volume played with that theme even more enjoyably than usual.
For the past several volumes Aoyama's had a frustrating habit of reiterating details of a case at the open of every new chapter following the start of a new story--I don't know if there was a publishing change that caused this, moving from weekly to biweekly/monthly or whatever--but it finally was less intrusive this time around. Hopefully that becomes the new norm.
