“You see those men out yonder? That’s my loyal crew. We partake of everything together. Peril. Plunder. Women. You’ve occupied my nightly thoughts for three decades past, Susan. That’s a long time. Mayhap a man’s desires can grow a little twisted.”
Returning to my Dorset estate after decades in London, my only wish is to take an evening stroll along the cliffs, and recall my first love, Flynn Maguire. When my inquisitive puppy falls down an abandoned quarry shaft, I have no choice but to go down after him.
There I stumble across a den of dangerous and enigmatic smugglers, concealed within a hidden haven deep underground. Though I swear on my word as a Lady that I’ll keep their secret, the ring-leader, a wild giant of a man, seems intent on keeping me captive for the night until his elusive boss decides what to do with me.
In the confines of the secret cave, I soon discover that smuggling contraband isn’t the only illicit activity they indulge in.
How will I escape with my innocence and dignity intact? And do I even want to?

This was alright. Not my favorite from the series. With the others in the series I felt more of a connection between the woman and the men she found herself entangled with. Like they've had a crush on her for awhile and there were more feelings involved.
With this one she has a history with Flynn. But the moment they first see each other again, he is calling her a slut and a wench and already pushing her to have sex with his crew too. Hey, I'm all for the humiliation and degradation kink. I like it! But it seemed like a meaningful conversation between them before getting to that would've made things feel more genuine between them.
The sex was okay, but honestly it didn't seem as good because of being brought down by the lack of connection between her and any of the guys. She's just a hole to them, and sometimes that can be hot in erotica, but in this case it just didn't work for me.
So overall not my favorite quickie from the series. Not terrible, but just okay.

Short story—kind of historical, somewhat spicy—BUT Susan hasn't seen Flynn in over 30 years. He was, and still is, her first love? How old was she when they separated? I get that these stories aren’t always about the plot, but the least you can do is pay basic attention to details like that...
