A history of running… When Rafe Sharpe was eighteen, he put Coyote Ridge, his family, and everyone he knew in his rearview in order to escape his past. When he returned three years ago, everyone thought he’d returned to face the horrors that had shaped his existence. What he didn’t tell anyone was that he’d been running then, too. But settling in didn’t mean settling down because that wasn’t in the cards for Rafe, even if he was secretly pining for the beautiful, pure-hearted Bailey Weber. Despite being his greatest temptation, Rafe managed to keep Bailey in the friend zone, opting to be her confidante and protector, ensuring she believed her feelings for him weren’t reciprocated. After all, Rafe wasn’t worthy of anyone’s love. Not after what he did. The past and present collide… It isn’t until a handsome man from his past rolls into town that Rafe realizes what he was running from and what he’s been resisting would soon come together, becoming a powerful pull on the heartstrings he didn’t even know he had.
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Nicole Edwards spends her days stringing words together to make complete sentences. Sometimes not. Her best friend is coffee, and she has a love/hate relationship with sarcasm. She’s been accused of having a filthy imagination, which she admits is true.
Nicole lives in the suburbs of Austin, Texas. She proudly claims one husband, three grown children, and two bosses (better known as the dogs). When she isn’t writing, watching football or hockey, or keeping her bosses happy, you can probably find her with a book in hand.
WOW, I was not prepared for Rafe's backstory. I haven't read his brother Rex's book yet, so I wasn't aware of the horrors they suffered at the hands of their father and his girlfriend after the death of their mother. My heart broke for him and his grief from one fateful night.
Nicole Edwards is one of the very few authors I don't read her books' blurbs before I dive in, and that's because I know no matter what she writes, I am in for a great story. Even when she hits on sensitive subjects, she does it with compassion so there is no worry about what may happen on the pages. Rafe's backstory can be triggering for some readers, and I have not seen any content warning posted, so if you want to know about it, feel free to message me.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great storytelling! Rafe was easy to read, kept my attention, and I ended up with a new book boyfriend... or two. This town and these characters will suck you in and make you want to be a part of their world. 👉Might be a good time for a series reread!
She has done it again!! Nicole Edwards newest installment of Rafe: The Walkers of Coyote Ridge, #11 is everything that we have come to love about Nicole’s books and this series…A must read!!
Rafe is back home in Coyote Ridge after three years and he has been working as a bartender at Moonshiners while falling in love with Bailey Weber, and Bailey has found herself falling in love with Rafe, even though they both are keeping each other in the friend-zone. Rafe ran away from a friendship that turned into a night he can never forget with Holt, who also is a rather famous novelist. Rafe is tormented by serious demands from his childhood which causes him to believe he does not deserve love in his life and never will, and that he has nothing to offer anyone(s) in a relationship.
When Holt shows up in Coyote Ridge looking for Rafe to try and start up where they left off after that night several years ago, he comes across Bailey who has started her new job managing the B and B where Holt has decided to stay while in town. Almost instantly Holt falls for the cute, funny and a naughty Bailey. Bailey hasn’t truly found her naughty side yet, but it is simmer right below all that cuteness waiting to be released once this trio gets together. Holt and Bailey start dating, while they both are deeply in love with Rafe and wanting nothing more than to have him be a part of what Holt and Bailey have started to build with each other. Rafe and his childhood demons have him so traumatized he’s not even able to go inside the B and B which is his old childhood home that has been completely transformed to a country B and B by his brother Rex, let alone understand how to navigate admitting that he is in love with both Bailey and Holt and fantasies about the trio having a real relationship (oh… and having a lot of really HOT sex together also).
Nicole once again gives us a trio of characters we can fall in love and root for them being together. I must say that I completely fell in love with Holt, he is sexy, smart, alpha, caring and truly the backbone of this trio. The only reasons I gave this book 4 stars and not 5 is that for much of the book Rafe endlessly beats himself up for his pass, in my opinion it went on for a little too long. The other reason is that I wanted more time in the book with this trio together and in a relationship, I feel that once they did get together the book ended, we did not get a lot of the story with the trio in a relationship. I can only hope this means we will be reading a lot more of Rafe, Holt and Bailey in upcoming books featuring Coyote Ridge and The Walkers, there must be so much more to their story!
One last thing, the epilogue in Rafe is jaw dropping, you will be screaming for Nicole to write a book exactly where this book ends…and soon!!
Rafe was a great story! Rafe Sharpe has returned to Coyote RIdge after years of living away from his childhood nightmare. After 3 years back, he still has nightmares about the trauma he experienced when he was young and he cannot step foot in the house his brother convert to a bed and breakfast. What is keeping him in his hometown is his friendship Bailey Weber, the sassy waitress from Moonshiners that he instantly felt a connection with when he came back home. He falls in love with her but doesn't feel he can offer Bailey anything with all his secrets he can't share with her. Now this cowboy wants to set down roots but he doesn't think he deserves to be loved so when she tries to make a move to act on her feelings for Rafe, he rejects her again. He is prepared to keep her in the friend zone than lose her if she ever found out what he's kept from her.
Until a handsome author comes to town looking for Rafe and falls for Bailey. Holt Callahan came to Coyote Ridge because he can't forget Rafe and to see if the feelings he had for him 3 years ago was really as he remembered it. He hadn't counted on meeting Bailey and feeling the same connection he felt when he was with Rafe. Bailey is tired of waiting for Rafe and when she meets the mysterious man registering in the B and B, she is instantly attracted and drawn to Holt's sweet seduction. Now Rafe has to choose if he distances himself from Bailey for her own good or fight for what he wants.
I loved the story and the heartbreaking past Rafe has kept to himself that's festered and skewed who he turned into. Bailey is always there to support him but after rejecting her advance, their friendship was strained and she felt him distancing from her. When Holt came on the scene and he was instantly attracted to her, she felt ready to move on from Rafe although she still loved him. What a triangle this turned out to be but what happens was written beautifully. Ms.Edwards does it again with this set of characters. I love all the stories of the residents of Coyote Ridge. Can't wait for the next story, will we find out what really happened to Kylie Walker?
I received an advanced copy from Bookfunnel for my honest opinion.
Since the release of Rex's book, I've been anticipating Rafe's. We're all aware of the Sharpe brothers' dark and traumatic past as it was told through Rex's perspective and it was a highly emotional book. Now, it's Rafe's turn. I've always been curious to know his side of the story and why he fled Coyote Ridge. We see Rafe as a man haunted by the events of their childhood and decides to wallow in darkness and solitude. Until an incredible night happened and discovered something new about himself, leading him to run back home to Coyote Ridge. Then he meets Bailey Weber. Her character started a bit weak for me but that changed when she finally decided to leave her useless, cheating boyfriend. She falls for Rafe throughout their friendship but thinks that is one-sided. Rafe falls for Bailey too. But chooses self-preservation over his happiness to protect her good-girl reputation. Then Holt Callahan visits the small town looking for Rafe to rekindle their connection from that night and at the same time, assembling some ideas for his book. He meets Bailey through the B & B and falls for her too. Now, the three of them have something in common and have to find a way to make it work and all the while, aid Rafe in moving on from his tragic past. This book is about self-healing by allowing other people to help you overcome everything. I love Bailey and Holt's determination and patience in helping him and allowing him to communicate more at his own pace since Rafe didn't want to go to a psychologist to exorcise his demons. Oh, man! His revelations about that tragic night were something that held my breath. It was definitely haunting. On the other hand, the chemistry between these three is amazing and hot. I loved every page of this book and I'm happy how Rafe falls for two people instead of one. I think that it was fitting for him to have two people to love and support him throughout his journey to find peace. And that epilogue? I'm guessing we might have a crossover on one of Nicole's other series and surely we will be treated for more books in this series in the future. Thank you, Ms. Edwards, for writing Rafe's story and sharing with us his well-deserved journey to HEA. As always, hats off to you and bravo!
Another beautiful emotional polyamorous romance where Nicole Edwards pulled at all my heartstrings and I loved it.
RAFE fights with the demons of his past and pushes everyone who tries to love him away because he thinks he can’t give anything in return. He has been in love with his coworker Bailey Weber ever since he started working at Moonshiners in Coyote Ridge but he keeps her at arms length and they are only friends. Bailey is in a very bad relationship but when she gets a job as manager at Rafe’s brother Rex’s B and B, which is build in Rafe and Rex’s childhood home, she breaks up with her boyfriend and move in there. Bailey reveals to Rafe that she has feelings for him which he deals with very badly. At the same time Holt Callahan rents a room at the B and B. He is a very charming and easygoing thriller author who spins both Bailey’s and Rafe’s worlds upside down and Rafe has to decide if he wants to work on his past and figure out how to move on from it or lose both his big loves.
I really felt for all of the main characters and their struggles and I wanted to both hug and shake Rafe but mostly hug because wow what a childhood he has had. He is fighting anxiety attacks from even stepping near the B and B and that doesn’t make it easy for Bailey and Holt either when they are fighting to make the relationship work between the three of them. Their relationship is so very hot and their chemistry is through the roof and when Rafe finally gives in WOWSA soooo much hotter;)!
I love Coyote Ridge and many of it’s people and I am so happy that the Walker family and their friends has such big families that Nicole Edwards can keep on writing about them and the town;)!
Holt Callahan revealed a very big information to Travis Walker and I can’t wait to see what happens with that information.
I can definitely recommend this book just know that some of the trickers are child abuse, emotional abuse, a self defense killing, anxiety attacks and explicit sexual content.
I got this book from Nicole Edwards and this is my honest opinion and my voluntary review.
It is always a great read when we can go back to Coyote Ridge, and I have been waiting for Rafe's story.
Rex and Rafe are brothers who grew up in a terrible environment when their mom died. Their father and his girlfriend were abusive in many ways. One day Rafe, decided they had enough and killed his father to protect his older brother, Rex. Since then, Rafe decided he was no good for anyone and left town as soon as he could. He traveled around refusing to admit he missed his brother and his home until one day he decided to go back.
He came home keeping his head down while working at Moonshiners as a bartender. Trying to stay under the radar to people in town who think he is bad news. Rafe spends time with his friend Bailey. Secretly Rafe has a crush on Bailey, but he feels he isn't good enough and has nothing to offer her. So, he doesn't pursue her until an old friend Holt comes to town.
Rafe and Holt have a history that he is trying to forget because Rafe said it was a one-time thing, but he never forgot that night. Holt has been trying to find Rafe since the night they slept together but couldn't and he felt he wasn't ready to take the next step. Finally, he found him and decided to see him again. Holt is bisexual so he finds himself attracted to Bailey too. While Holt pursues Bailey, they realize that they want and need Rafe to complete their relationship.
Rafe is attracted to Bailey and Holt and Bailey finds herself attracted to Rafe and Holt too. Needless to say, Holt is attracted to both. All throughout the story you could see these 3 people deserve happiness, if only they can convince Rafe.
I love the way Holt brings them together and how they fight for Rafe to let them love him. I feel this story shows that no matter what happens in your life, you can start over and choose happiness.
Rafe still has some trama he needs to work through but with Bailey and Holt by his side he can learn to be happy. Also having the love and support of his brother will help him move forward.
Nicole ends this book with a great cliffhanger. Anytime Travis is involved I am so there. Hopefully, we learn more in Brantley's next book.
Rafe by Nicole Edwards is a tale of trauma and loss, love and redemption. It is a friends to lovers story about Rafe Sharpe, cousin to the Walker clan, Bailey Webber, manager of the Double R B & B, and Holt Callahan, a thriller author. I have skipped a few books in the Walkers of Coyote Ridge series and as a result had not read the book about Rex, Rafe’s older brother, but it wasn’t difficult to catch up and follow the story. I really enjoyed this one. Nicole Edwards does an amazing job of giving her characters’ real world experiences that mirror those that so many people. Her stories stress the importance of not locking away traumatic experiences because they will come out somehow and the memories will be in the driver seat if they surface on their own. This story of how Rafe found his happily ever after stresses the power that unconditional love and acceptance can have in helping to heal a battered soul. I loved Bailey in this book. She was so sweet, but full of fire and rarely allowed herself to be dragged down by setbacks in her life. However, I think Holt was my favorite. He swept into town and not only did he go after what he wanted, but he was a bridge that helped others do the same. I anticipate that his inquisitive mind is going to shake up the town of Coyote Ridge in the near future. As one would expect from this author, there is plenty of emotional upheaval, super hot intimate moments, and small town charm. It was a great addition to the Walker family’s ongoing saga, and it definitely has me eagerly anticipating the next story to come. I recommend this book to readers who enjoy small town erotic romance. I would caution that readers should consider whether childhood abuse is a trigger and be open to non-traditional romantic relationships. I am voluntarily submitting this honest review after reading an advanced complementary copy of this book thanks to Nicole Edwards.
Rafe is the eleventh book in the Walkers of Coyote Ridge by Nicole Edwards. I love the Walkers and their extended family and I will keep reading about Coyote Ridge and all the people who live and move there until the end of time. Rafe is Rex's brother(Book 6) and he left town when he was eighteen to get away from his past. He came back home three years ago, but he still hasn't moved on. He can't seem to stay away from Bailey even though he knows he has nothing to offer her. He cares about her more than she'll ever know, but he won't ever tell her. When Holt, a man from his past, shows up in town Rafe doesn't know what it means. Holt was the only man he's ever been with and he hasn't forgotten him. Holt and Bailey have an instant connection, but Bailey can't seem to stop thinking about Rafe. And now she's thinking about Holt and Rafe. And her! Together. Whoa! Where did that come from? But once it's on her mind and in her dreams, it's not going away. Can she love two men at the same time? They wouldn't be the first throuple in town, but what does Rafe want? Holt? Holt came to town for Rafe, but once he meets Bailey he knows he's not leaving. He and Bailey get closer and closer and once he finds out Bailey thinks about him with Rafe he knows what he has to do. Get Rafe to admit his feelings about him and Bailey. They can make this work. He knows they can. They just have to convince Rafe to let go of his past and let them love him. Wow! This was such a great story! I love these characters so much and I love the multi POV so you know what everyone is thinking. Rafe is tortured, but intense and full of love. Holt is cocky, and goes after what he wants. Bailey is fierce and had me cracking up! It was sweet, hot, sexy and emotional! I loved seeing old friends and can't want for more from the series!
This story, in many ways, reminded me of the origins of Travis, Kylie, and Gage. I couldn’t help but think that’s not an accident as the reason (other than Rafe) that Holt came to town was revealed. While I believe this can be read as a standalone, those familiar with the Coyote Ridge universe will have some added depth to this story.
Personality-wise Rafe, Holt, and Bailey are not a lot like Travis, Kylie, and Gage. Rafe is in love with Bailey, she’s in love with him, and neither is doing anything about it, and just when they might Holt comes sauntering into town. A lover from Rafe’s past who has instant sparks with Bailey and still has feelings for Rafe. But Rafe is a stubborn one and cannot seem to see himself beyond his past and the way children judged him for things he did to protect himself. He definitely doesn’t see himself the way others in the town (other than your usual jackasses) see him. And surely not the way Baily, Holt, and his brother see him.
While there is a lot of heat in this story, there is also a delicate touch when it comes to Rafe working through his issues and Bailey and Holt fluctuating between patience and exasperation. This relationship won’t truly be whole without all three of them being all in, something Rafe doesn’t seem to understand.
It seems Holt is going to be an integral part of some future stories that take place around Coyote Ridge so I was a bit disappointed that we didn’t get a lot of backstory on him other than his time with Rafe. I don’t necessarily think it was detrimental to this story, but I’m curious to see if we’ll get more later.
**I received an ARC of this book courtesy of the author. All opinions expressed in this review are my own and given freely**
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review.
When Rafe was eighteen he ran from Coyote Ridge, his family and every single person he knew. He is running from his past. Now three years have passed and he is back and everyone things he has come back to face the horrible things he has experienced. However the truth is now he is running from something else. He is always running really. He is also a man who has no plans to settle down. He doesn't feel like that is his fate. Though he does have a huge crush on Bailey Weber. She is the greatest temptation he has ever faced and he somehow resists and puts her firmly in the friend zone. He of course has huge feelings for her, but she can't know that He will be her best friend. The one she tells all her secrets too and he will be her protector at all times. He makes sure that she knows that friends are all they will ever be. He doesn't deserve to be loved after what he has done. To say he has convinced himself that this is a fact, would be an understatement. However he never planned on Holt showing up in Coyote Ridge and for him to have feelings for not only him but for Bailey too. Can Rafe ever get past his past and find the love he truly deserves? Well, I wish I could tell you but i would totally ruin the book for you. This book is so good and I don't think anyone writes menage romances like this author does. I was so sucked into this book, hanging on every word that was written and fell so in love with these characters. You feel every emotion that they do and I really didn't lay this book down. I loved it and you certainly need it in your life or you are missing something absolutely amazing. Buckle up because the epilogue is a dozy and will leave you reeling.
What another great book from Nicole Edwards. This story contained all the feels, and I just loved every minute I spent reading it.
After reading Rex’s story I knew all the horrors that they both suffered under the hands of their father and his girlfriend but for some reason it just seems that Rafe’s story was just so much more. Bailey is in love with Rafe and Rafe is in love with Bailey, but Rafe is afraid to give into this love as he feels that all he has to offer her is his past and all the secrets that he carries around that he’s afraid to share. During this book we meet Holt a famous author, that comes to Coyote Ridge looking for Rafe to see if what he felt with him and for him 3 years ago is still alive. Upon arrival Holt meets Bailey and there’s an instant connection and attraction for each other. After being rejected by Rafe, Bailey decides to give into start to explore what can be between her and Holt. Now it’s decision time for Rafe does it ignore his feelings for Bailey and let her go or should he see where their feelings will lead. This is where the story really takes off as we get to delve a whole lot deeper into this threesome. As always, the development of this relationship is exceptionally written and as I reader so find yourself rooting for them to have the happily ever after. As always it was great getting to visit Coyote Ridge and see some of our favorite characters. I will recommend this book, and all other books in this series as they are all exceptionally written. Great job Nicole and I can’t wait to see what else you have in story for us.
*4 stars* It's been such a long time since I was back in the Coyote Ridge world as The Walkers are one of my favorite fictional families I've loved since I started reading. I was very happy to know that there was another book in this series. It took be a bit by surprise and I didn't see some turns in the story coming but I definitely enjoyed the relationship between Rafe & Bailey but also what Holt brought to the table. Quite unexpected turns but it made the journey very enjoyable. Some things in the story I read in a few other books that are connected to this one but you don't really need to read the others to understand this storyline. Another great read and can't wait to see what is next in store!
Rafe has been through a lot and he's glad that he has such a great friendship with Bailey although there has been some feelings brewing underneath everything but he hasn't crossed any lines. When Holt comes into town, a lot of things are brought up between them but Rafe doesn't really want to get into it. While Holt and Bailey get to know each other more, there's a jealousy that he can't seem to let go off but there's a lot that he hasn't dealt with. Although Bailey has been in love with Rafe for as long as she can remember, the fresh relationship between her and Holt takes on a deeper meaning, even if she can't take off her mind of Rafe. When push comes to shove, they'll all have to deal with all of their emotions and feelings but will they find a way to finally make the truth come out...
I cannot state this enough...I absolutely loved Rafe! Wow! What an emotional and moving story. Talk about a tale of second chances and receiving the love that you were always due. Rafe is the 11th book in the Walkers of Coyote Ridge series, and let me just say that I will never get enough of these Walkers or their cousins. What a family!
We first heard of Rafe, and a bit of his backstory in Rex. These two brothers have been through hell and back, esp. Rafe, because Rafe has lived with the stigma and ridicule of his past all these years, and now he has returned to Coyote Ridge where it all began. Sadly, Rafe doesn't think he is good enough to be loved, especially not by the beautiful, and in Rafe's eye's, innocent Bailey, whom he has fallen completely head over heels in love with, but keeps that secret to himself. Rafe is content to be her friend until things change, and Rafe through the love of Bailey and Holt realizes that he, too, deserves to be loved.
Rafe is a story of finally healing and overcoming a terrible childhood trauma through love. Rafe will definitely pull at your heartstrings one minute and then have you crying from laughter in the next. Rafe is a brilliantly told story.
If you are looking for a book that you will not be able to put down from page go, filled with wonderful characters, witty dialogue, and the sexist men and the sassiest ladies in Texas, then Rafe is the book for you. Go grab your copy if you have not already done so, and if you have...GO READ IT NOW!! You won't be disappointed.
How does she keep doing it? Nicole Edwards has done it again. Rafe has your attention from beginning to end, there is not one time throughout this book that you aren’t excited to keep moving on and reading. Rafe has a history that both horrifies him and frightens him. He is back in Coyote Ridge and now the town is talking. He left someone he had feelings for three years ago to come back to Coyote Ridge and now he’s face-to-face with someone else he has feelings for. Holt has found a man he has wanted to spend his life with, but now he has to find a way to make it work. Bailey has been in coyote Ridge her whole life, and she’s been in love with Rafe as long as she can remember. He’s back and they’re really good friends, but have never crossed the line. Enter Holt, a famous mystery writer to show up to Coyote Ridge and stir up feelings in both Bailey and Rafe. This story has you rooting for everybody not just one person. Watch as the three of them try to make it work, and how to get Rafe to stop running from his past. Such a wonderful book. It was so good to see Rex and Rafe together overcoming a past that would’ve damaged most people for life. The love of a good person, or two, can set you on the path to a better future. Don’t even get me started on the epilogue of the story. If I thought Holt stirred things up before, wait until you read the epilogue. Now I am really going to have a hard time waiting for that story to play out. Hello Travis Walker.
An awareness in the dedication to the Walker Universe.
‘ 17 yrs ago, fun ceased. Rafe wasn’t sure of himself anymore!’
The typical Coyote twist - 1 partner never enough for some 🫢 😉 - a convoluted love triangle. The Coyote Ridge Gazette - yes still a thing.
Holt - writer, seeking too what was taken from him in his 1 night of passion. Bailey - sweetheart, looking for her forever after, but life doesn’t always give us what we want, or does it? Happy to see the Walkers are still included within the read. Curtis/Lorry and offspring.
What a cliffhanger. Not only does Coyote Ridge still have ?’s, but this is also crossing over to OTB (Brantley). The suspense leaves you definitely seeking more.
Back to Rafe/Bailey & Holt. Their story needed to be shared and it is still new. Especially Rafe. What he endured within his life was eating him away. No further spoiling but you will need to prepare yourself for a roller coaster of ???’s by - Rafe - Bailey & Holt
Each have their own demons that need to be cleansed by their union. 5 stars as always. You will become attached to all the characters, personally Travis Walker due to his loss.
Nicole never disappoints. Awaiting next instalment, question whether it will be a crossover due to jaw dropping hyperthetical theory by Holt.

Rafe and Bailey are in love with each other, they’ve friend-zoned each other but it’s come to the point where they can’t ignore it anymore. Rafe has a complicated past with a huge amount of trauma and he doesn’t feel worthy of anyone. He has very strong opinions on what he can and can’t give to a loved one and it’s really sad how he views himself. He’s a survivor I and doesn’t see the strength in that. Bailey is super sweet with a fiery side just waiting to be released. A face from Rafe’s past arrives and completely throws them into turmoil. Holt is a surprising character, he’s absolutely in love with Rafe and you can feel how much of an effect Rafe has on him. I loved the direction Nicole took the book in and she has a knack of getting the perfect trio for us to fall in love with. They all bring something different to the relationship and they compliment each other perfectly. Holt is definitely the backbone of the trio, Bailey the heart and Rafe the protector.
My only negative for this book and the reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is I wish we had abit more time with them officially together. It takes a long time for them to take that step and I wanted a bit more lightness towards the end. I understand why it takes the time as it covers some serious trauma but selfishly I wanted another few chapters. This is a heavier read than some in this series and it’s really well done. The subject matter is covered with care and felt true to life. I really do love this author!
For those that love an epilogue this one has a doozy! It’s just fabulous and will make you desperate for the next book. Hopefully we don’t have to wait too long!
Rafe is the book eleven in the Walkers of Coyote Ridge series by Nicole Edwards. This series is the first one I read by Nicole and it gets better with every book. I love the Walker family and all their friends and extended relatives. It is always great to see glimpses of past family members in the current story. Rafe is Rex’s brother and we found out some of their backstory in Rex’s book here we get a little more of their story. Rafe left town when he was eighteen to get away from his past and he came back home three years ago, but has refused to go into their old family home. The only constant in his life besides his brother is Bailey and even though he loves her he will not tell/show her because he has not moved on from his past. Then an author named Holt arrives in town things start to get real interesting and not just for Rafe who shared one night with Holt in the past but also Bailey who has captured Holt’s attention. Holt came to town to look for Rafe and see if the chemistry is still there, but once he meets Bailey he knows he's not leaving Coyote Ridge. He has decided to put down roots. The only question is with who. Can Holt & Bailey convince Rafe to let go of his past and let them love him? This is a great story about healing and opening up and after the author’s note at the beginning & that epilogue I cannot wait to see what the future holds.
Nicole Edwards continues to WOW me with her fantastic stories and characters. Rafe is one of those characters and he is a very complex one at that. He has been in love with Bailey, who is just so sweet, for 3 years but has kept it strictly friends with her because he feels unworthy of love. His traumatic past has kept him from being able to move past friendship with her, that is until Holt shows up. Rafe and Holt had a summer of friendship that became more the last day they were together but then he ran. Now Holt is in town to see if what he has felt for Rafe all this time is maybe how Rafe feels too, but he falls in love with Bailey in the process. That makes things very complicated. Holt and Bailey are so hot together and good for each other but she is in love with Rafe and Holt knows it. He’s in love with Rafe too though so maybe they can make it all work. Does it have to be complicated if they all love each other? It takes Bailey and Holt, along with help from Rafe’s brother Rex to help Rafe see that it is not too late for him and he can have it all, these relationships, this love, and all that comes with it. These 3 steam up the sheets and are so combustible together! It is so nice to see Rafe finally happy! That conversation at the end between Holt and Travis will surely make you go hmmm.
Each of these characters gives you something to love. I rooted for Bailey as she interviewed for a new job (and had some happy tears). I emphasized with Holt when he reappeared in Rafe’s life after 3 years, still harboring feelings for his lost love. I felt for Rafe, the damaged boy who feels he can’t be loved. I want to tuck Rafe under my wing and show him he deserves good things – like Bailey and Holt.
Rafe is Rex’s younger brother but you don’t need to read Rex’s book to thoroughly enjoy this one. There is enough explanation of the supporting characters that this book can stand on its own. If you’ve read the other books in this series, you will have more backstory about the supporting characters.
Rafe was sexually and emotionally abused as a child. The things he did to protect himself, and his brother scarred him. Rafe “doesn’t ask for anything, expects nothing, and can’t accept there are people who love him.”
Bailey came off as a little too sweet sometimes and I would’ve liked to hear more about Holt. But this is Rafe’s story so I understand why it focused on him. Overall, it’s an installment of the Walker family series that I’m glad I read. The epilogue gives a huge clue to what’s coming in the future.
Excellent read! We learned about Rex's story, and know we learn all about his brother Rafe and their deep dark past. Get ready for a roller coaster ride of a relationship! Rafe has been back in his home town, Coyote Ridge for the past three years. He works nights at Moonshiners a local bar and has been longing for Bailey his co worker. He stays in the friend zone because he feels he is too damaged from his past to have a relationship. Bailey has been in love forever with Rafe, but he will not make a move. She gets a dream job that she has always wanted working at the local B&B working for Rex, Rafe's brother. A very handsome writer checks in and she is smitten!!!! Holt is a famous writer who came to Coyote Ridge to find his old friend Rafe. He finds a very sweet girl working at the B&B he is staying at and he is hooked in immediately. What he doesn't tell Bailey is that him and Rafe have a very intimate past. The three of them come together in an explosion of passion. What a great story of three different souls coming together. Rafe has many demons to fight if he really wants a to be in a normal relationship. Bailey and Holt become his glue and he finally realizes it's worth fighting for. LOVED this book!!!
Nicole Edwards does it again. If you're in a book slump, all you need is to pick up one of her books and all will be right again. She has an uncanny ability to write and make you feel like the characters are your friends. Do not miss this book or this series.
Rafe was a surprise to me. It had been a while since I had read the previous books in this series (may be time for a re-read), but man he didn't disappoint. He's strong willed, has tough exterior with the perfect shell that's ready to be cracked by the TWO loves of his life. Bailey is all sunshine, but she doesn't to let her men run all over her either. She has the perfect amount of spunk and sass. Holt brings them together. He is unwillingly unapologetic and knows what he wants. They need each other to find their happily ever after!
The only reason for my 4 star rating was that I felt like the ending was rushed and I want more! Based on the epilogue and shocking connections Nicole hinted at, that this won't be the last time we read about these three. One can only hope Nicole decides to do a spin off like Brantley!
I'm always excited to read about a Walker so I was super excited to be able to jump on the bandwagon and read this. And I was super interested in reading about Rafe after reading his brother Rex's book. Without giving too much away, Rafe leaves Coyote Ridge as soon as he's able to and doesn't come back for years. He returns years later and attempts to forge a relationship with his brother Rex after a horrendous childhood and a severe trauma that separates the brothers. He forges a friendship with Bailey and leaves his feelings at the door for her because she has a boyfriend. Rafe is determined to leave the past behind, keep his feelings from Bailey so he doesn't ruin their friendship, and grow a bit with his brother and his life. And the past comes to him instead. Read it to find out why! This book totally kept my attention from start to finish and I didn't do a re-read of the whole series and it wasn't necessary. You can't help but root for Rafe and he and his brother battles their demons. Fantastic from start to finish!
Why choose? That is the question that plagues Bailey Weber when Holt Callahan comes to Coyote Ridge. She has been friends with Rafe Sharpe for a long time but she doesn’t think he feels the same about her as she does him. Now, Holt is in town and it seems he and Rafe have a history, but she and Holt also have something special happening between them. Rafe has always loved Bailey and he ran from Holt years earlier because things got too real. Can the mutual attraction among these three find a way to work itself out to be mutually beneficial for all? I really enjoyed watching the dynamics play out between these three as Bailey’s heart yearns for two men, Holt is in town to see if the connection he felt after one night with Rafe was real and Rafe finally deals with the demons of his past that make him feel unworthy of love and happiness. This story is so good but the end has a twist I know I didn’t see coming and now I am excited to see how this surprise plays out for all the characters involved.
It’s been a while since we have been back in Coyote Ridge and we are back to get Rafe Sharpe’s story. This journey ticked my boxes, it’s well written and it’s a great addition to The Walkers of Coyote Ridge Series. Rafe walked away from his family and Coyote Ridge years ago but he has been back a while now just waiting for his past to catch up with him. The only stable thing in his life is the friendship he has with Bailey Webber but keeping feelings at bay with this woman is a struggle every day and when an author named Holt arrives in town things start to get real interesting and not just for Rafe……… This book has it all, it has wonderful characters, it’s scorching hot, it’s got its fair share of banter but more importantly it’s an emotional love story. It’s a journey about overcoming the past and moving on with the future, it’s about taking a chance knowing you will be caught before you fall and it’s about family and friendships.
There is nothing quite like a new Nicole Edwards novel and a return to Coyote Ridge is always welcome. Even though Rafe is a cousin to the Walkers, this book can be read and enjoyed as stand alone.
Rafe, Bailey and Holt's story is so beautifully woven together! Each individual character brings their own personality, skill and attitude and each can be admired for that. However, together, we have an explosive combination that will have you wanting more, of everything!
Not only are we treated to an amazing journey that Holt, Rafe and Bailey take together but we are also served up some interesting developments that question what we think we already know about past events in Coyote Ridge and the wider community created by Ms Edwards.
All in all we are served up a fabulous journey to an HEA that, at times, seems almost impossible for this attractive throuple but with some added extras that will quench the thirst of Nicole Edwards fans, BUT not for long!
Could Kylie be alive after all? But also, could her mom, Meredith, be alive to? However I think she was murdered and that’s gonna be an interesting story to uncover! Now I’ve got all kinds of questions about her and Kylie! Plus I loved this story and I adore Bailey! Not sure if I like her mom or not but she not giving her daughter a temporary home is BS! The chemistry between all three is crazy ridiculous and I’m all for it. I hope they have babies in the future and I can’t wait to see the renovations to Moonshiners. Pleas let let Sheriff Jeff take a sledgehammer to the Flamingo picture! He deserves it. Rex and Jack cracked me up and their relationship is so sexy and cute! Such a great read and I am praying for a truly happy ending for my dude Travis and Gage getting justice for their beloved wife, Kylie. My favorite throuple of all time!! 🥰🙏🏻🩷🩷🩷
I loved this story! It was heartbreaking and uplifting and gave me all the feels! THEN THE EPILOGUE MADE ME LOSE MY MIND!!!! I am speechless and flabbergasted and cannot wait for the next book!!!
Rafe and Bailey have become best friends, after he returned to Coyote Ridge 3 years ago, and although everyone around them sees they are in love with each other, neither will admit their feelings to the other.
What Rafe never told Bailey, was that he came back to Coyote Ridge after meeting Holt, someone he fell for.
When Holt comes to find Rafe in Coyote Ridge, he meets Bailey and feels an immediate attraction to her, and the feeling is mutual.
How these 3 figure out how to navigate their attraction to each other, move on from their pasts and learn to move forward together makes this story one that I could not stop reading. I wish I could give it 6 stars!
5-star review of Rafe (The Walkers od Coyote Ridge #11) by Nicole Edwards Having left Coyote Ridge and his family behind years ago, Rafe Sharpe finally returned home three years ago knowing that sooner or later his past will catch up with him.
The one thing he has been successful at is keeping Bailey Weber in the friend zone even though he is attracted to her. Rafe is determined to keep his feelings under wraps. I fell hard and fast for these characters, and I may have found a new book boyfriend or two.
Rafe is an emotional, steamy read that will draw you in and hold you captive. It is a story of coming to terms with the past, confronting it and moving on. Of looking deep inside oneself, facing the truth, and taking a leap of faith; it was well written with strong and engaging characters.
Rafe by N. Edwards is book 11 in the Walkers of Coyote Ridge Series. Rafe is a 29 year old who left CR at 18 and never looked back, till 2 years ago when he returned. His only family is his brother Rex. Trouble is his second name and he's kind of proud of it. On the orther hand he's lonely, working as bartender fills his time , but it's rather meee. Bailey is his co-worker, a sweet woman. Both are through a lot and have the scars to prove it. And they carry a torch for each other. And then a third player shows up, Holt. Holt is deeply in love with Rafe, cares deeply for Bailey. He's kind of glue that helds the three together. I started reading and fell pretty quick for story and characters. I loved how they grew along with the story, loved the lightheartedness they achived at the end. A fantastic read, 5 stars.
