Everyone has a story. Those we meet and those we are yet to meet, all have stories to share that have made them who they are. Such tales can inspire the listener too. ‘Nanayuvan njan Kadalakunnu’ by Nimna Vijay chronicles the stories of those she met in different phases of her life.

The book is a collection of 25 short stories which highlights love, school memories, friendship, and characters she met in Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Gujarat.

The youngster’s debut work is very relatable too. The stories Nimna witnessed had made her either happy or given her epiphanies. Diana Lisy the cobbler, musician Girish Puthencherry, or the old couple she used to see at a park in Mumbai frequently — all helped her find herself in a way.

Nimna Vijay is a prominent author from Kerala, best known for her novel Ettavum Priyappetta Ennod, which has sold over 1.5 lakh copies in a year. Her debut book, Nanayuvaan Njan Kadalaakunnu, received critical acclaim for its storytelling and emotional depth. Nimna’s writing is characterized by its simplicity and relatability, often exploring themes of personal relationships. Currently, her work Ettavum Priyappetta Ennod is being translated into English and will be published by HarperCollins. അപ്രതീക്ഷിതമായാണ് നിമ്ന വിജയ്-യുടെ “നനയുവാൻ ഞാൻ കടലാകുന്നു” എന്ന പുസ്തകം കൈയ്യിലെത്തുന്നത്. ഏഴാം പതിപ്പാണ് കൈയ്യിൽ കിട്ടിയത്. ഒരാളുടെ ഓർമകൾക്ക് ഏഴാം പതിപ്പ് വരെ എത്തണമെങ്കിൽ അതിനുള്ളിൽ എന്തോ സ്പാർക്ക് ഉണ്ടാകണമല്ലോ എന്നുള്ള ചിന്തയാലാണ് ഇത് വാങ്ങുന്നത്. വലിയ ബൗദ്ധിക സിദ്ധാന്തങ്ങൾ ഒന്നും ഈ ഗ്രന്ഥത്തിൽ വായിച്ചില്ല. പക്ഷേ നിത്യ ജീവിതത്തിൽ കണ്ടുമറയുന്ന കുറെ കാഴ്ചകൾ വായനയുടെ ലോകത്ത് വീണ്ടും കാണുവാൻ ഇതിലൂടെ സാധിച്ചു. അതുകൊണ്ട് തന്നെയാണ് ഒരു രാത്രി കൊണ്ട് ഇത് വായിച്ചു തീർക്കുവാൻ ശ്രമിച്ചതും. ഇതിലെ പല കഥാപാത്രങ്ങളും എന്റെയും കൺമറയത്ത് മിന്നിമാഞ്ഞിട്ടുണ്ട്. ചെറിയ കാഴ്ച്ചകളും അതിനെ ഒട്ടും ചെറുതല്ലാത്ത രീതിയിലുള്ള അവലോകനവും ഈ ഗ്രന്ഥത്തെ വേറിട്ടതാക്കുന്നു. കാഴ്ചകൾ കണ്ണ് കൊണ്ട് മാത്രം കാണാതെ ഹൃദയം കൊണ്ട് കൂടെ കാണുവാൻ ശ്രമിക്കുമ്പോൾ കണ്ടുമറയുന്നവരും നമ്മെപ്പോലുളള പച്ചമനുഷ്യരാണെന്ന് തിരിച്ചറിയാൻ സാധിക്കും. അല്ലാത്തപ്പോൾ അവരെല്ലാവരും കാഴ്ചകളായി അവശേഷിക്കും. ഒരു നല്ല വായനാനുഭവം സമ്മാനിച്ചതിന് നന്ദി..
