this is the perfect read for lounging out by the pool and getting a tan. it’s exactly how i read this and how i think everyone should read this. and this book arrived just in time for summer, i couldn’t be more grateful.
honestly there were moments i had to put this book down because i needed to cool off. THE SPICE??!?!?!!!?!?!! mother delivered. she did. i sat there and was like “she really did that!” as i dunked myself in the pool. this one really got me good. it checked off every box i knew existed and then more.

the romance between Arlo and Clem (like always) is done with care and grace. Clem’s story was beautifully considered and worked in with her growth with Arlo by her side (ensure you read the content warning beforehand to make sure this book is for you).
and ofc we can’t do romance without the best friends. Rosa and Frankie were the perfect characters to balance this book out. they’re just so damn good. i can’t express just how much i loved Clem and Rosa together, both are such strong women. and Frankie?? HELLO IM IN LOVE. he’s mine, i’ll take him. thank you.
yeah, to sum this up, i think this was perfection and i’m not surprised in the slightest. mother continues to deliver, and i’ll be here waiting for anything she offers. three amazing romances all in one year??? MIND BLOWN! if this is the standard and consistency we’re getting, i cannot wait for the future.
side note: the multiverse is really expanding because did we get a tease for the montanna series and THEN a HOCKEY SERIES???!!?!?!!!? or am i just reading too far into it? maybe, delusion does seem to be may favourite flavour.
also yeah i absolutely am using these books to learn spanish. and yes i only know filthy phrases.

A MUST READ 👏 I devoured this in less than 24 hours because I was freaking hooked on Arlo and Clementine. Arlo is the hot single daddy we all need and the mouth on this man. 😮💨

G. Elena did it again 👏👏👏
She gave us a slow burn paired with insta-lust that went from 0 to 100 in a turn of a page. Like the slowest timer for a bomb. It was like Arlo gunning his truck. I was giddy the entire ride. Elena had me hooked from the beginning though. I was a puddle for Arlo after the first chapter in his POV. His mouth is FILTHY, in the best possible way.
The emotions throughout the entire book had me on edge. Between Clementine's past and Arlo's possessiveness, I had tears running down my cheeks at one point. The spice made it all better though, don't worry. Spice fixed everything. The third act conflict had me anxiously reading to see what would happen. I fely like I blew through the last third of the book.
This is truly a forbidden romance that had me rethinking all my choices, in the best possible way. Highly recommend for my book babes who love best friend's dad, age gap (18+), BREEDING, and such much praise.

A forbidden romance for the ages! I received an ARC copy of this book to read and review and it delivered.
The spice was next level. The possessiveness. The dirty talk and praise. All of it was well balanced with the sweetness.
Beyond that, Clementine was an fmc I wanted to see succeed. I loved her friendship with Rosa and I felt like you really got to see them both grow. We love to see female friendships highlighted against the smoky hot romance.
The relationship with Arlo was handled perfectly and I was downnn for it from the beginning. This was a beautiful story and I truly enjoyed it every minute of it.

this book was SO GOOD
it was sooo spicy but also had some really cute and sweet moments too. there were also some really heavy and important topics that were handled so well and done with so much intent and thought (check content warnings before reading!!)
i absolutely adored clementine. she was super relatable and dealt with a lot of things that are really difficult. i loved being able to see her heal and grow throughout the book.
arlo. this. man. is. beautiful. i loved him so much. not only was he a perfect book bf, but he was such a sweetheart in general. he would do anything for his daughter and seeing him want to work on his relationship with her was so sweet. and he was sooo good to clem. he adored her and i love him for it. plus he’s hot. and he calls clementine girasol!!!!
the friendships were so important in this book!! i loved the relationship between rosa and clementine. they had such a deep bond and it was really sweet seeing such a true friendship. their relationship was definitely tested but i really loved their whole friendship. and frankie and arlo were such cute besties. they were so funny together but it was also obvious that they were super close and would always be there for each other through tough times.
i honestly loved this book. forbidden romances and secret relationships are some of my favorite tropes and this one definitely lived up to my expectations. it was the perfect mix of spicy and sweet. it also dealt with some really important topics in a really great way.
so if you are looking for a spicy forbidden romance, you should definitely read this!! (seriously arlo is so hot. i love him so much.)

Clementine is a girl who is just trying to go on a trip to Greece for school and it was canceled and she has a best friend named Rosalita and we love her she’s very supportive honestly. Her and her best friend were supposed to go on this trip for school and it got canceled and Clementine didn’t have anywhere to go because she had too much family at her house and her parents were going overseas on a couple trips so she asked her friend if she could stay at her house and her friend asked her dad. His name is Arlo and we love him and of course he said yes he was really weary at first, but as we know how it always goes, he enjoyed it.One thing you learn about Clementine is that she’s going through a really really hard time right now and TW with self harm because she has been hurting herself because another TW She was sexually assaulted by her ex-boyfriend at a frat party so she’s trying to learn how to deal with all that she wasn’t able to press charges and she sees him on campus and at other parties that she goes to , so she’s been staying at her friends house a lot during the summer because she doesn’t want to see him and with all this she ends up spending so much time at home she starts spending time with Arlo and here’s the thing in the beginning. They both already like each other or what we like to call lust and they were trying to give each other space but they always catch each other at the worst times for them the best times for me, and of course, one thing to lead to another, and started liking each other.
I love Arlo. He’s very protective of his daughter and of his daughter‘s best friend even before he falls in love with her he’s just very protective, and he feels like he can’t live his life without his daughter, because of what they went through when he was getting divorced from her mom because her mom left him and it was a lot for him and he felt like he didn’t deserve to be happy or that his only happiness revolved around his daughter, and he finally realized that that wasn’t true when he met Clementine.

This was a best friend's dad romance and I will say I was influenced by bookstagram to read this. It did not disappoint, I read the majority of this book in one sitting and had to take a break because I had arc reviews due otherwise I would've finished this in like 6 hours.
Clementine was stuck with no place to stay after her study abroad program fell through. Her mom and stepdad were on the other side of the world and their home was being temporarily lived in by family whose home was recently flooded.
Arlo is a construction worker who is rarely home and has a strained relationship with his daughter Rosalía after he and her mom separated.
Rosa and Clementine were both set to go on the study abroad program and are both now stuck in their college town, Rosa's hometown because it is now a no-go. On a whim, Clementine asks Rosa if she can stay at her house for the summer, she is even willing to pay. That was before she knew she would fall for her best friend's dad.
I will say this book was kind of a slow burn which was great for me because I hate instalove. Both Arlo and Clementine originally tried to ignore their feelings for one another for the sake of Rosa, but one thing led to another when they were home alone. I liked the forbidden aspect, but I was also anticipating when Rosa would find out and what her reaction would be. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and will be buying the physical copy eventually.
The female main character is an sa survivor and occasionally has to face her assaulter. At one point she goes into detail and it mentions being dr*gged. If this topic does trigger you please look after yourself and avoid reading anything that may put you in a down mood.

Just randomly found this author's video on my Tiktok fyp and she automatically sold me on this with Latinx characters plus Spanish nicknames. Say less.
This is a best friend's dad romance and it had everything I love to read in these kind of books. The forbidden aspect coupled with the age gap brought such good tension to the story. I loved the little subtle touches between the characters, the longing glances, the secret winks, the sneaking around - absolutely perfect. Even though there was insta-lust in this, I thought the author did a good job at building up to a more substantial relationship between them.
I also related so hard to Clementine's character, specifically her dealing with the aftermath of being sexually assaulted by her shitty ex-boyfriend. I legit was taken back to the person I was a decade ago with some of the things Clementine was going through. I appreciate the care the author took in writing Clementine's character and the very realistic path to moving on from a traumatic event like that.
Only complaint, and I know this is annoying of me, but I am always hypercritical of Spanish in books (I try not to be but I literally can't help it) and it always takes me out of the story when the Spanish doesn't sound conversational or seems weirdly formal/stiff. It kinda felt like that at time while reading this one. Not all the time, but enough that I had to stop and think, "is that how we usually say that?"
However, I will say that I loved the nickname bebita and swooned anytime Arlo said it. Also, I did not know I needed Spanish praise in my life. I will absolutely be reading more books from this author if it means getting more Spanish nicknames that I otherwise would not be exposed to since I married a white man lmao.

my god this was marvelous. single dad, best friends dad, age gap EXCELLENCE. the spice and sweet moments were balanced so perfectly and the daddy/sir kink was 🥵 i love me a fine ass burly man yall. i loved clementine and arlo so much, they were each others person and the way they found solitude and safety within eachother made me so 🥺🥺

Clementine has great summer plans with they get ruined so she asks her best friend if she can stay at her house and that's where she meets Arlo Santos- her best friends dad who is 18 years older than her and super hot!

I have never finished a book so fast until I read this one. This book was so beautifully written it made me feel all the feelings😭 I loved every character (especially Frankie😉)
much to the point where they will have a special place in my heart I love everything there is about a forbidden romance!
Especially ones like this book😉 The tension had me pacing
around my room! I also adored Clementine and reading
how strong of a character she is. I can't wait to read more from this author and hopefully we'll see a Frankie book🤭

I really loved this book! It was very very spicy and had a great plot line!! This was my first book by G. Elena and I cannot wait to read more from her!
