Bianca Ware is a ticking time bomb that loves hard and parties even harder. She’s the pill popping, weed smoking, rebellious wild child out of the five sisters. Abandoning her children on her parents and dissing her sisters at any given time is nothing out of the ordinary for her. She’s headed downhill fast since she can’t seem to get it together while the family struggles to accept the person that she has become.
As a few of the sisters spend a nice evening together they find out that Bianca has been in a horrific accident. This ultimately brings the sisters together, only to inevitably tear them apart. As the drama unfolds, secrets are exposed, causing a rift between the sisters that they may never be able to recover from.
Deception, shame, disgrace, and blame are just a few of their faults. Is blood really thicker than water? The Ware sisters will soon find out. This stunning tale takes you into the world of Ratchet Bitches and how low some will go to get what they want and with Bianca lurking there is no limit on how Ratchet one can truly be.
I saw this book while searching for a new book to read. The title was a complete turn off and I usually don't give books like that a second glance, because it's usually defined by its title. It got some good reviews and several reviewers pointed out to not be dissuaded by the title, that the story was not like the title, so I took a chance and bought the book. The book is sophomoric and poorly written. I read the acknowledgement and the author made a couple of comments that I just thought was odd. I've been an avid reader my whole life and I've read many books and I have never seen anything like that under an author's acknowledgements. She talked about haters and about family members that don't approve. It seemed juvenile and inappropriate. I spent the money, so I was determined to give this story a chance, but as I moved further into the book, it got worse. I could not and almost halfway into it, I couldn't go any further. It left a bad taste in my mouth. It was ghetto, nasty (not x-rated, just plain ole nasty) and unbelievable. I know there's a lot of bad books out there and I'm usually very selective. Worse book I've read in many years, hopefully the last...at least for a long time.
This book was not good to me. However I did like the characters. The beginning of this book was very slow. I still don't really understand what this book was supposed to be about. There was no leading to a destination, it was just events occurring. I don't really get the title either because when I read the book, it didn't fit. Just because the author mentioned ratchet bitches all throughout out the book doesn't mean the book had to be called it. It just didn't fit. There is a part two to this book, but I doubt that I'll be reading it.
I thought this book was going to be the typical book about women with low standards. It actually turned out to be a great book about family trials and tribulations. It was a family of five women and the things they encountered and overcame in life. They stuck together sometimes being some racket britches towards one another's. I loved this book and cried through most of it
Well this is my first time reading Tiece books and OMG, what a good story I really enjoyed the story the character and the out come. Sister's love is so deep I have three daughters and I raised them to be close just like this. No matter what they all struck together. I like to read the reviews on new books before I read them and someone said that she repeated Ratchet b to much. Not true !!! Love this book good job.
Ok let me start off by saying this is not the kind of story I read but let me just say that this was a great story. I understand the title and it is not what you think. I went through to many emotions going on a journey with these sister and yes they are ratchet but overall it was a great story.
All I can say is damn! I did not want to put this book down. Everyone has at least one ratchet person in their family and this book showed just how ratchet some can be. I hope there is a part 2 to find out how the marriage life turns out for Bianca. Overall this was a great book that had me at the beginning. Great job Tiece!!!
I really enjoyed reading this book. These sister stuck together no matter what. Just like a regular family they had their good times and bad times, but they held it together. The book was totally different then I thought it was going to be. Great job Tiece. For this being my first time reading a book by you I really like it. I give this book 5+ stars.
Good read. This was an interesting page turner. The author was able to introduce 5 sisters & their issues & also show the love they had for each other. Although Bianca constantly kept the family in chaos, they continued to help her overcome her battles and stood by her when she needed them the most. This book kept my attention from beginning to end.
It truly is worthy of the five stars. No one can ever know what you have been through unless they see it first hand or you tell them. To be able to go through as much as Bianca did and to have a strong man to come into your life and accept you for who you are with five kids. God is good!
I absolutely loved this book. I laughed & I cried. Those Ware sisters are something else. But Bianca was a mess. I read this book in less than 2 hrs. If you've every read any on Tiece's books then you know she's a beast with a pen. This book is a must read!
I don't get the title because none of the girls were really ratchet to me. Yes they had there share of problems but not really much ratchet behavior. It was more about the bonds between the sisters to me.
This book really isn't my speed. The title of the book made me think this was going to be a fast paced book. I guess if you like slow paced book it's for you. There really isn't any ratchetness going on in the book:the characters may need some lessons on life but that's really it.
I loved it! A must read. The women in this book really were Ratchet! Especially Bianca. I'm glad things worked out for her in the end. She had a lot of demons she was dealing with from a young age. I look forward to reading more of Tiece's work.
Ok let me start off by saying this is not the kind of story I read but let me just say that this was a great story. I understand the title and it is not what you think. I went through to many emotions going on a journey with these sister and yes they are ratchet but overall it was a great story.
I chose this rating because this book was slow and boring! it took me over a week to read this, and normally I'm a fast reader. The only reason I finished it was because I paid for it! Don't waste your money!
Wow I loved this book from beginning from the beginning to end.It was a good ass page turner for me.I was shocked at the events that happen.I really felt bad for Bianca.Glad she finally got it right.Blood is thicker then Water lol.Kinda hoping for a second book
I really enjoyed this book. I have three older sisters and we have our differences too. I've cried and laughed through this book. Would love to read more on this family. Hope the author writes a sequel.
Tiece, wow..... I loved this book. It was fiat, now I need to read Part 2, to see what happens with the Ware sisters. Blood is thicker than water.... A page Turner for real.... Couldn't put it done until the end.... Keep them coming.... #TBRS4LYFE
The book was good, I was just mislead by the title. The sisters were not ratchet I thought, they just stood up for whatever they felt, whether wrong or right.
The Ware sister's are truly a unique bunch of women. They are always there for one another. They go through there issues but when it counts they are all there for each other
