Resolution Never go hiking again.
Resolution Don’t bleed on any more hibernating vampires.

An impromptu hike sends Everly toppling gracelessly into a vampire cave. The surly, tall, and devastatingly handsome vampire isn’t interested in the bonbons Everly offers to make amends for waking him. He’d rather have Everly…help him adapt to the modern world, of course.

However, after one of her friends disappears, Everly abandons Cross's lessons and asks for his help navigating the Shadow Trade world instead. Filled with supernatural creatures of every sort, it’s a place she never wanted to enter. A single misstep could cost Everly her life. But she’ll risk anything to keep the people she cares about safe.

With sugary bribes, ancient artifacts, mysterious tattoos, and extremely sexy supernaturals, Blood and Bonbons is the next must-read paranormal romance/ urban fantasy/cozy mystery blend of the year.

I'm fairly new to the cozy genre but I certainly enjoyed Blood and Bonbons, the first book in Melissa Nicole's (the writing duo of Melissa "MJ" Haag and Nicolette Pierce) Shadow Trade: The Ruin of Relics series. I loved the mystery and the unexpected elements that popped up.

The MFC, Everly, is just your average girl. She's almost finished with college and her dream is to own a bakery. I liked her, heck her love of sweets rivals my own and there were most definitely some interesting scenes surrounding them. Everly is kind and thoughtful, not athletic (like she's my spirit twin), and has a healthy amount of fear. Good thing too because her best friend Vena acts as if she doesn't fear anything.

I'm just gonna say it, I didn't like her. Vena is rash, selfish, reckless, and greedy. Sure I can understand she's in emotional turmoil for most of this book but that doesn’t excuse her behavior, like how she's constantly putting Everly's life in very real danger and she kept doing it. She's not a bad person but she is annoying as heck.

For a book that had little romance, the tension was strong in this book, especially at the end. There are two possible love interests for Ev. First, there's Cross, the ancient vampire that she woke up by bleeding on him. Then there's Shepard, her boss at Blur, the nightclub she works at. Cross is very proper but has great curiosity about the new world he's woken in. Cross is nothing like I expected, I really like him although I'm not sure how he feels about Ev. He's respectful (even when Vena doesn't deserve it), and calm but he has a playful personality that leads to some flirtatious moments between him and Ev. Shepard on the other hand is calm and stern, a boss for sure and he seems to want more. Both guys are protective over Everly but they don't like each other, so it's looking like a love triangle is developing which sucks cause I like both of them.

The story was so good. There was a missing brother, an ancient book, and a gross artifact. Vena and Everly have to follow the clues to figure out what happened to Vena's brother. I enjoyed the clues and all the different elements. There was even an aspect of Treasure hunting and an old family mystery involved in the story. Slowly but surely the story became about two rival factions who seem to be gearing up for battle. There were a few unexpected turns which made the story that much better.

Blood and Bonbons was a great read, a good mix of humor and angst. I love a good mystery and Melissa Pierce gave me one. The mystery of the disappearance was solved but it also leads to loads more questions. Maybe those will be answered in the next book, Fangs and Fudge.

I discovered Melissa Haag quite a few years ago when I was looking for Cinderella retellings. I couldn't know I'd stumble into her entire backlist. So, when she announced she was gonna do a co-write about vampires, werewolves and other paranormal creatures, with a title that made me even more curious, I didn't hesitate and made sure to add the book to my wishlist. A few weeks ago the book came in and today I finally had time to read it.

It's almost impossible to find a box for this book to completely fit into. There is very clearly some romance, although not that much is happening when it comes to acting upon all those feelings. There is clearly a mystery, although we barely scratched the surface of said mystery and there's probably a lot more to come in future books. The book is also taking place in a world where humans know about supernaturals, although they're not all happy with that knowledge.

This book is also a really nice mix of funny and light hearted and a little dangerous. There are quite some situations where our girls are walking straight into trouble, mostly because they're simply not realizing that the situation might be a lot more dangerous than they anticipate. But there are also enough moments where I was smiling and just enjoying how all these characters were talking to each other, challenging each other and growing more and more comfortable around each other.

The most entertaining part is the romance though. Especially because it's quite clear the current situation is gonna lead to a lot of trouble in future books, but it seems the heroine is not being bothered by that. And just like the authors I wouldn't know right now who I'd want her to end up with. I used to be an Edward girl, but over the years I've certainly learned to love a good werewolf mate story. So, I'm gonna let them surprise me and I'm really looking forward to read the next book!

Vina is a no no

I almost stopped reading this story so many times. I did not like Vina (best friend) at all, personally one of those toxic people I wouldn't want in my life.

The heroine was likable enough which somewhat saved the rest of the book. I would have wanted to know how the MMCs worked through their differences and protected Mina. Yet the thought of having to read anything more about Vina puts me right off.

The plot was okay, seeing as this is book 1 there were some loose ends that would normally have me going straight to book 2 but not this time.

I received a free copy through Booksprout in exchange for an honest and unbiased review/opinion.

4 stars — This was a fun start to a series. I’m not entirely sure what to expect from the next few books — love triangle? Reverse Harem? Minimal romance, more mystery? It’s a…*cough* mystery. *rolls eyes*

I really enjoyed Everly, and felt like I could connect with her super easily. She was cautious, kind, thoughtful, observant…maybe occasionally naive, but I’m okay with that. I loved that she had a pretty sweet heart, but wasn’t afraid to be occasionally sassy.

Vena on the other hand? Nope. Not a fan. She is reckless, obsessed with things that make me cringe, and shows far too little regard for her best friend. I don’t mind those qualities completely, I’m okay with a character who is unlike me, and could provide a nice balance to Everly. But I did NOT see enough remorse, thoughtfulness, or kind qualities to balance all the times she completely ignored her friend who was begging her to either stay out of danger herself, or not drag her into it with her. And her bitchiness to Cross was over the top, with not enough wiggle room. Basically she just didn’t have enough balance for me. Perhaps in the next book we’ll see more. It’s not that she never showed guilt or remorse, but she never learned or grew…it felt shallow and surface, and you just knew if the right opportunity presented itself, she was going to get Everly in trouble again and then get mad at the person helping. So yeah. I’m immensely grateful this book (and hopefully series) is from Everly’s POV, because unless we got some depth inside Vena’s head, I doubt I would be able to push through.

I enjoyed what we learned of this world, from the creatures that humans became aware of, and how they all co-exist at present. I’m definitely intrigued by the few mysteries we’re presented with, from the stuff Miles was looking into to what the vampires are up to in the city.

I definitely enjoyed the guys at Blur, and I’m intrigued by both Cross and Shepard — though more Cross at the moment if I’m being honest. I feel that connection more. I’m really excited to see what’s going to happen in the next book!

So yeah, definitely a fun ride, just a personal taste clash with certain elements, but not enough to dim my enjoyment for the rest.

Blood & Bonbons by Melissa Nicole, another pen name of Melissa Haag /MJ Haag/Sage Alder, is complete chaos but I'm going to need to keep reading. This one gets 3⭐️ from me.

Everly lives in a world where fairies, fae, goblins and werewolves are real, but even then, vampires are a myth. Until she lands on top of one when dragged hiking by her friend Vena, and accidentally wakes him from slumber. But Cross' awakening seems to wake a lot of trouble too, when Vena's brother goes missing, mysterious strangers come after Everly, and murders close to the nightclub she works at start setting off a strange protective instinct in her boss, Shepard - not to mention Cross' fascination with Everly.

This book is nuts. You're plunged right into the action and pick up information as you go, and it's constantly fast paced with several different sets of events and plot lines running simultaneously. I wonder how Everly copes, poor girl should be shattered.

The world seems really cool, but we see such weirdly disparate parts of it - Vena and Miles with their treasure hunting, the crazy black market, the cool supernatural club, and then somehow Vena and Everly are students at the same time. Basically, all the seedy parts of this world being shown to us individually. It gives it an almost post-apocolyptic vibe in a way, even though we don't think it's meant to be. And it adds to the chaos.

Further adding to the chaos is the many different plot lines that cross and converge. This book only resolves one of them, so it feels quite incomplete in that regard - I appreciate there's more to come, but the narrative feels a bit episodic the way it's been left.

Everly is a sweetpea, although she's not shy and retiring - and all the boys seem to have noticed she's a sweetpea too. The romance is definitely still at the flirting stage and very slow burn, to the point I can't tell whether this will be a love triangle or a reverse harem, but I'm definitely enjoying the different qualities of the male love interests.

Cross is a cool character - his adaptation to the present day is a really nice way to tie him and Everly together, and he is definitely more caring than we first think. In contrast, Sheperd is possibly overprotective, but he gives very in control vibes and is possibly the safe haven Everly needs. I absolutely can't pick.

I think the biggest let down in this book for me is Vena. She's too far on the side of mean and intolerant to be the archetypal aggressive and outgoing best friend to the naturally laid back main character. And it meant I just didn't like her. She's needlessly (and stupidly) aggressive to Cross, and far too pushy about Everly's love life - and pushing Everly into needlessly dangerous situations. Having to spend all that time with her was quite irritating.

Overall this book was fairly mediocre, and definitely not up to the must-read levels that many of Haag's books hit for me. But on the strength of her past work, I'll probbaly try the next one when it releases in case this improves.

This book is for you if you liked the chaos of the Magiford Supernatural City universe books by KM Shea, the Supernatural Battle: Werewolf Dens series by Kelly St Clare, or other works by Melissa/MJ Haag.

So Much Going On !! . . .

This was just what I needed to read, a fun, humorous story line that had me thoroughly enjoying the adventure we were on. Vena dragged her roommate and friend, Everly, for a “fun time” rock climbing experience because the climb takes care of the credit Vera needed to earn. (I laughed in empathy with Everly’s displeasure, but she did not laugh – absolutely realistic!) But it turned out Everly was not upset at the height or difficulty. She just found the safety harness to be unflattering! (That quickly, I lost a bookfriend.) Vena continued to laugh. Then she bribed her with anything she wanted from the French bakery if she makes it to the top. Halfway up, Everly’s arms burned and her legs shook while Vena didn’t even sweat! Vena was a natural athlete… and Everly wasn’t. So Everly told her to talk “dirty” to her so she could finish the climb and Vena started listing the delicious desserts. Everly laughed so hard she almost lost her grip! (It took me a while longer to stop laughing!)

On the way to the bakery and home, Vena mentioned her brother Miles, a researcher, was coming over. Everly knew that meant he found a lead on a treasure or an artifact and Vena would drag her into something she didn’t want to do. This favor would cost her an additional chocolate-layer cake at the very least! And Vena promised she would be better prepared this time. Miles saw the cake, but Everly said he could have half of it if he promised Vena wouldn’t get hurt hunting whatever this treasure was. So he sadly declined the cake! His sister was known to take risks she should avoid.

When Vena convinces Everly to accompany her on a little hike, which was actually a trip up the mountain to find Miles’ treasure which Everly wanted no part of, Everly ends up falling into a cave occupied by a hibernating vampire, Cross, whom she ended up waking by bleeding on him. When Miles goes missing, Everly asks Cross for help in finding what happened to Miles. Will they find him?

An outstanding debut of a new author duo! Melissa Nicole is the pen name for Melissa Haag and Nicolette Pierce as they embark on a new series together, and the result is a laugh-out-loud, slow-burn rom-com with some seriously excellent world-building. I’m already ready to re-read Blood and Bonbons and get my hands on book 2 Fangs and Fudge, due next spring (I’ve already pre-ordered). Perfect for fans of Karen Lynch’s Fae Games, portal fantasy reads or urban fantasy reads, Blood and Bonbons is not only a great start for the duo, but also for the series!
Everly has dreams of one day opening a confectionary. She loves to bake. She likes her job as a cocktail waitress, and she loves her bestie/roommate Vena. Even though Vena is interested in athletic pursuits while Everly is decidedly not, and Vena and her brother are determined to follow in their family’s footsteps and take up the trade of supernatural treasure hunting. A risky business that Everly doesn’t approve of. And when Vena tricks her into going on a treasure hunt, Everly finds more than she bargained for, even if she had agreed to help. Because there’s more in the treasure cache than treasure—there’s a hibernating vampire.
And bleeding on him sets in motion a chain of events that upends Everly’s orderly, risk-adverse life. Because now the vampire is turning up wherever she is and demanding recompense in the form of helping him catch up on all that he’s missed in the centuries he’s been sleeping. And Vena’s brother has gone missing, leaving behind clues that could be more dangerous than looking for him. Not to mention making it clear once and for all that there’s more to her boss and his permanent staff than meets the eye…
Action-packed, heavy chemistry, laugh-out-loud situations, and the underbelly of the magical world co-existing with the normal one all adds up to the kind of read that’s more than a little hard to put down. Looking forward to the next installment and more going forward from this duo, and I’m now firmly a Nicolette fan, as well as reminded all over again why I’m a die-hard fan of Melissa’s, in any and all of her pen names!

What a fantastic first story in what appears to be a great new series. I am so excited for then second story in this series, like I am going to be stomping my feet until Fangs and Fudge comes out, I can’t wait for more, maybe its because I am such a sugar addict every time a sweet treat was mentioned my mouth watered. I really like the way this pair have created characters that flow and feel real from the first introduction, but I also really liked the little crew list at the end, so if you wanted to know a little more about them, you can get the inside scoop. That was handy, as there was one, I was wondering about, there seemed to be something going on that I couldn’t grasp at, and when I read the list, I was like ahh, that’s maybe why. But I love knowing all the details, and that’s just not always possible when you are building a world and limited to pages, to get every detail, so I loved that. But the best thing about this story is Vena and Everly, they vibe off each other like the best of friends they are, sometimes it doesn’t always reflect on the page, and you are like I can see them being friendly but besties no, but these two have amazing bestie chemistry. They made it so much fun to read their story. Cross and Shepard bring that extra sparkle to the story, but it’s the rest of the crew I am more interested in.

I have received and ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This book kept me guessing throughout and even after I finished it, I want- no I need to know what happens!

I really want to know who the main character ends up with, I cannot decide who I like more; Cross has the perfect amount of smarmy for an out of touch vampire and Shepard's protectiveness makes you swoon.

I thought the dynamic between the friends was well written. Vena is everything you friend needs to be, I say need because sometimes you need to hear somethings you don't want to hear. I want to go out for drinks with these two. No only because they are surrounded by hotness, but they would be really fun to hang out with.

The quips in this book are hilarious, between all the new euphemisms to use and the banter between a 200 year old vampire and a spunky treasure hunter it is a total treat.

The story around the creatures exposure was vague and intriguing, I feel like there is more to come around the how and why they were suddenly outed to the masses.

I am looking forward to the other creatures that might come about in this series. There is enough original mythos of creatures but enough of a new twist to keep it fresh.

I would recommend this book to mature young adults and any supernatural/fantasy reader.

My one "negative" comment: I have never craved sweets reading a book before. I will have to alter my book budget to add a bonbon category.

Regardless, I cannot wait for the next book!

Nooooooooooooooooo!!!!
I just read that the second book in the Shadow Trade series isn’t coming out until May 2024… It’s going to be agony waiting to find out what happens next! It’s worth the wait, though. I’ll just have to read this one again to make sure I don’t forget anything… ; )

This first book in a new series by new-to-me authors, wasn’t what I expected, at all. It was MUCH better! When I say it consumed me, I mean CONSUMED. From the first page, I was all in! Still am.
It’s got all the things; great characters, great world building, intriguing suspense, captivating story, flirtation, laugh out loud humor, and did I mention hunky werewolves and a stunningly hot vampire?
It’s also a slow burn romance. So slow that the authors say they’re not even sure who the heroine will end up with. There’s enough flirting and drama that I thoroughly enjoyed every second, though.
May seems so far away… good thing there’s more books by these authors to try out!

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This was a surprisingly entertaining read. I got this on KU, and had a lot of fun reading about Everly and her roommate, Vena, as they try to navigate living and working in a magically aware society after accidentally crashing through the roof of a cave while hiking, stealing a ring, and accidentally waking said vampire. I liked Everly as a character. She's practical, sensible, but not stuffy. And she is a saint for being friends with Vena. Vena is fiery, impulsive, headstrong and does not think about the consequences for herself, let alone what might happen to Everly. Then there are the 2 men that seem to be vying for Everly's affection - two men who are on either side of a long standing supernatural conflict. It may seem like it's curtains for Everly at times, but these men will let nothing stand in their way to protect the woman of their shared affection.

Fast paced and entertaining, this was just what I needed.

I meant to get this review out earlier but life happens. I thought this book was so well written that I read it twice to make sure I didn't miss anything the first time! I was hooked from the very first line. What could be better than an amateur treasure hunter and an excellent cook who are awesome damsels who definitely do not always need rescuing? Also, throw in a hunky wolf and a sexy vampire who is awakened by Everly by accident. Throw in a brother who is missing and you have an awesome group for a great story. Come along with Everly and Verna and have the adventure to begin all adventures, With werewolves, vampires, and fairies, Oh My! Loved the book and its characters are all well-fleshed out. They make you want to join them, in all the shenanigans going on. enjoy the ride. I know I did, twice.

Everly is the quintessential normal girl - sweet, kind, a bit clumsy, someone everyone likes - and she's totally relatable. Little does she know that agreeing to one little hike with her roommate is going to change her entire world. She didn't want to go on the hike in the first place, but when she literally falls into a vampire cave, she wakes a sexy, broody, mysterious Cross, who eventually asks her to help him find his way through the ins and outs of this modern world. With disappearing friends and an even broodier wolf shifter boss, Everly has her hands full, but she steps up to the challenge.

I never want this author's books to end. Each story is always a tapestry of intrigue and danger, and this one does not disappoint. Once again, we're left standing between two sexy supernaturals, and that can only lead to more trouble. I can hardly wait to read the next book.

Blood and Bonbons
By
Melissa Nicole

This was an excellent start to the new Shadow Trade series. Melissa Haag and Nicole Zoltack have a fantastic collaboration going, and I can hardly wait to see where they lead us.
Everly only wants to be a baker. Her best friend, Vena, being the more adventurous (recklessly so) wants to be a treasure seeker. However, when Vena's brother Miles goes missing, the two must work together to find him. Along with Cross, who is an ages old vampire, and with their boss, Shepherd, who is a werewolf, the two women embark on the perilous trail of discovering what happened to Miles. To add to their difficulties, vampires and werewolves are age-old enemies.
I can hardly wait for the next book, "Fangs and Fudge" to come out.

I wasn't expecting much. Don't remember if it was the blurb or a random review I read but I thought I'd hate this love triangle I could see forming before I read a word. But knowing one of the authors in this duo I had to give it a chance. Feeling optimistic I even bought #2 at the same time. And oh boy. Did not disappoint. In fact, it had me on a journey so quick I didn't even notice I was reading a book by an "unread" author.

I jumped instantly into book two so I don't want to tease anything. The fact that I have to wait for 3 with the rest of you early adopters annoys me, frankly. And I'm trying to keep an open mind on this one and ride out the story being told.

But a degenerate part of my soul begs: Don't make us choose! :)

An Entertaining Read

“Blood and Bonbons” a great start to a new series. Everly and Vena are best friends and have been for years. Everly is very much a homebody and just wants a quiet life, she has a love of all things cake but with a bestie like Vena that quiet life may be out of reach.

Vena has an adventurous spirit and is a treasure hunter, most of her family are. Supernaturals “came out” to the world around a hundred years ago, magic items and potions are sought after commodities. After bribing Everly with decadent cake they both go out scrambling, a few mishaps later and they find themselves falling into a faerie hoard quite literally. It might have been fine if Everly hadn’t accidentally spilled blood onto an unconscious body.

This book did not disappoint! I can't wait for the next two books. Cross is a little sneaky and is winning Everly's heart. But, I can't wait to find out more about Shepard. I love Cross from the moment he appeared on the page. There's just something about him that appeals to me. Then there's Shepard, he has the protective side I love in my MMC. I can't wait to see what trouble Vena and Ev get into next. This book is amazing. It has mystery, suspense, quirky humor, big tough men, vampires, werewolves, and two friends who know each other so well, that it is hilarious at times. You have to get this book!

This book was a little slow at the beginning, but once all of the characters were introduced and the paranormal world had been set up, I was sucked in! Everly is the main character and she seemed like more of the scared best friend type, which I don’t feel you normally get the perspective of. I feel like authors normally focus on the fierce character who in this case is the her best friend, Vena. So I liked the refreshing view this book had, plus they were teamed up trying to find Vena’s brother while navigating all of the supernaturals they kept running into. This is a great new series and I am looking forward to book 2!

This series started has left me with a serious book hangover! From the deliciousness of the dessert description to the delicious wolfs and vampire this book has everything. I laughed so many times and felt so connected to the characters that I forgot I was reading a book. Everly is a sweet, intelligent, and loyal friend. Vena is the kickass best friend we all secretly need in our life. Miles is the off limits sexy treasure Hunter who I can’t wait to read more about. Shepard is the boss we all swoon and drool over. And Cross is just *chefs kiss*!

I cannot wait for book two and I will be impatiently waiting for it!

This book is a representation of Melissa Haag and the co author. Cross and Sheperd's pack represents MJH and Vena and all the other distasteful characters represent the co author. I don't even wish to learn her name. I am a big big fan of Melissa and I really tried to like this book but oh my sweet lord the writing and characters suck. This is a poor man's version of the Twilight saga at best. Melissa, like Everly you need better friends.

Vena is like a disease that spreads and infects even the soil she comes in contact with. I only hope MJH drop this dead wait of a series quickly before it tarnishes her reputation further.

Team Cross!

I really enjoyed this. Cross was the perfect book boyfriend! The only really bad parts were Vena. She was just so unlikable. She had many comedic moments, but she was just so full of herself and didn't care how her actions affected others. Cross went out of his way to rescue them, repeatedly, and she still acted like he was the bad guy. The Fmc kept getting hurt and people died because of choices she made, but he was the bad guy. I almost didn't finish because of her. But the mystery and chemistry kept me reading. But the ending was also rushed, but I guess a lot of the loose ends will carry over to the rest of the series. But do I want to deal with Vena again?

This story was so much fun to read!
I really enjoyed the witty writing style and the mysteries that kept me guessing on some points right up till the end.
Everly was down to earth and a relatable character that you felt you could understand. Vena was the unpredictable one, but it did add a level of drama which made the story more fun.
Cross was enigmatic and sexy - and I’m looking forward to learning more about him in the next book. And Shephard was completely swoon worthy as well!
Definitely eagerly awaiting Book 2 next year!!

Cozy paranormal

Blood and Bonbons is the brain-child of a duo of established authors, MJ Haag and Nicolette Pierce, who perfectly meld together for a paranormal treat with a touch of treasure hunting mystery. This is an interesting take on an FMC because for once, so far, Everly isn't the strong, brazen one — her best friend Vena takes that title. Instead she's smart, kind, and driven, but she's just enough of a wimp to be relatable. And it made me truly love this character. I'm looking forward to knowing so much more about Cross, Shepard, and maybe even Miles? IYKYK

Great Read

I really liked this book. The author really did write this book well. It had a lot of action. I loved how the main character friend continued to fine trouble. But she wasn’t annoying. It kept me guessing what kind of trouble she was going to get into next. I don’t usually like to read about characters in a book acting that way, but the way the author wrote her in was really funny and interesting. I can’t wait to read the next book. I highly recommend this book.

Seriously. If Vena doesn't get beaten or otherwise seriously hurt in the next book I am not reading it. Which I know she won't, manipulative bitch that she is. Anchor deserves better. Everly deserves way better.
And since Shepard is a walking red flag with his overbearing "don't you use your pretty little head for thinking, I know better anyway", using his boss authority to keep her small and dumb and "sheltered" and still there is a Team Shepard instead of a clear decision for the one listening, letting her decide, only doing what she consents to... No. Seriously. No!

I really liked Everly and how she wasn't your typical kick ass UF heroine. She is sweet and sensible & risk averse and just wants to do her job, eat cake & be safe. Which are worthy life goals. But she still does what she needs to, to help her friends. I disliked Vena quite a bit. She is selfish & obnoxious and a terrible friend. I don't blame her for following her passion of treasure hunting, nor for want to find her brother. But I do blame her for never listening to Everly & constantly recklessly endangering her life.

Couldn't put it down

Absolutely loved this book and could not put it down. I have been itching to read it and was not disappointed. The story is actioned packed with laugh out loud moments.

Everly is the sweetest main character whose best friend gets her into waaay too much trouble.

I really can't wait to see what happens in book 2 and to see what happens as Everly is caught between two worlds.

Fresh perspective

This is the first book in a new series co written by two great authors. The world created isnt the same ol feel as other paranormal stories which I enjoyed learning as I read. The banter between Everly and Vena is off the wall but what do does one expect from cracra besties. Include the chemistry between Ev and her 2 leading men and I'm still debating who is best, Shepard or Cross. Overall I enjoyed this story and excited to see where it goes.
