It's every booknerd's dream to find an unknown & outta print book that rocks his/her world. Well, booknerd, get your cock (or some such other corporeal appendage) in here quick, cuz I suspect soon this book ain't gonna be all that unknown. Or at least I hope so.
Well,i'm naturally drawn to those people who are overwhelmed by existence; by people who are like materialists for emotions; who,for them, life seems to be just not enough; for whom the unceasing cacophony of thought and memory and idea and the mystery of live and love and foreverness is so overwhelming to the point of tears. And fuck if you are a writer that can somehow come up with the ways to tell a story,to summarize the totality of what it means to be alive and around all those people and memories and ghosts and all the potential and possibilities. well, shit. How did this young twerp do it?
a quick plot synopsis: You have that girl which is an assasin. Or,rather,an Assasin. The capital letter is important. It separates the curs who went around murdering people for money from the gentlemen who wished to remove, for a consideration, some people who deserve death from the candyfloss of life. But very occassionally you found you'd got someone like Her.
And then you have Him (annoying as fuck, but at least he's a proof that not all men are boring). So we have two lovers that create some kind of new language that is a new form of poetry. And in the process they learn how to go through a picture or whatever into another kind of perception,(doors are for people with no imagination, knocking on air is the new cool) where they have that sense of being united to all things and suddenly understanding everything.
a sum up of the love story: -Would you like to stay for dinner? -Would you like to stay forever?
If I pie-graph all the topics,a sizable portion would be wedged out to space-time stuff.
um...
- I read this book. - I didn't read this book. - I read this book and didn't read this book. - I read this book in one dimension and didn't in another. - This book didn't exist until I read it.
...something like that,uh,just read the goddamn book.
Author's great because she won't just dumb down but genualy wants you to understand this stuff. This and because she is the best to explain time doesn't exist. It takes not only guts but ability and balance -lots of it-to write a book like that. damn, you should worship her sooner.
