Florida gardening IS different! Jacqueline Litton does a great job explaining how and why, with heart and humor and great appreciation for the crazy seasons, for native plants, for building a little healing link for the soul and the earth. I’m not technically the target audience for this book, I’ve lived in Florida my whole life rather than trying to adjust from a northern clime. I still learned a lot!
The informal blogger voice makes this a breezy read for anyone but I think this book is most helpful for people who have already started gardening and are looking for a next step. I am entering Year 3 and that is my case. Because there are very few visuals, I wouldn’t recommend this book to a beginner.
This is the book I didn't know I needed. it is so easy and so intuitive when it comes to gardening in Florida. Florida is different from other states when it comes to cultivating both vegetables and flowers as well as fruiting trees. this guide was so easy to read and to follow that I still keep it around when I need to go and check for some references. 🦋
