Delicious! In more ways than one, I was eating up page after
page and couldn't stop. This has a bit of everything~~ crime,
suspense, old flings, sex, ALOT OF SATISFYING SEX! Off the
chart hot! The characters are well developed, take a
feisty redhead, a very likeable one I must add, and team her
up with an extremely wealthy hot piece, named James.

I'd say he fits the long haired beautiful- eyed hottie that
James is. A real estate investor with a serious sex drive, but
oh that would be a plus.

Meet Cassidy, she is an event planner, James's "blackbird"
and the first to own his heart.

There is so much going on in this read that you don't want
to put it down. Will James make mistakes and jeopardize their
relationship? How will the mystery play out? Read on to get
those answers.

Suggestion, not that it's a big deal, but I find it nice to
use the playlist, I like the books that mention the songs as
you go along, so you can experience that moment, and this
author does just that.

I have been waiting for this to come up on my calendar to read. I have watched the launch party, other bloggers enjoying the books, I have loved being a part of it. (Thank you J.M. Witt for an early copy of Letting Go too!) It finally arrived, the day I had planned to read Letting Go and I jumped right in.

I really liked it. It was a hot steamy ride through a very … I don’t want to say fragile … but kind of delicate relationship. I feel like if James had made just the wrong move in one direction, Cassidy would have definitely taken off, at least until she got to know more behind his explanation for… all those months ago. I will let you read the book. :)

When I say hot and steamy, I mean hot and steamy, it was almost too much for me. Almost, not quite. Y’all know I like some raciness with my romance, so don’t be judging me as someone who just can’t handle it. :P It wasn’t what they did (think a little lighter than FSOG), but how often that was the focus of the book. Luckily, there was a great story line to go along with the hotness, so I was good.

These two go through so much sadness and pain, it draws them together when they let it, it separates them when they let it do that. There really is a beautiful story line of love and loss – or not quite loss yet – in one of their cases. I cannot wait to see what comes next for them. I think there will be a lot of struggles for them down the path of their relationship, but I also think they are going to come out of it stronger in the end. I hope.

I think the only thing that I can say I did not like was that it was almost too … real? I tend to be one of those ladies for whom bodily functions do not happen in front of anyone ever and I prefer my characters to be the same. Don’t laugh. I know, it is not the 50’s. Be kind. I was raised that way. Not that James was letting toots rip (I am cracking up as I type this), it just seemed like there was a huge focus on the need to pee. I was waiting for there to be a logical reason for it, I mean there is in another series that I love, the guy has a reason for why she needs to go to the bathroom after sex. There really was no reason given, they just peed. Maybe…. J.M. was just making them real life like we are, but I seriously will freak out on my husband if he walks in when I am in the bathroom. It is just who I am. I am a prude when it comes to bathroom stuff, not so much when it comes to my books.

K. Get it out.

Done laughing at me?

Let us move on.

Great debut novel for J.M. Witt. If you like your romances to be highly erotic with a great story line, you will love this book.

You’re still laughing at me aren’t you? For the record, my husband is laughing at me too after I read that part of my review to him.

Man, I hope she lets me read the next book after reading my review.

I was given the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Let me start by saying that this book certainly did not disappoint in the Hotness category! I feel like I needed a cold shower after some chapters. There's one section where Cassidy and James go for a bike ride and they end up back at Cassidy's place... That is hands down my favorite section of the book. The whole ride on the motorcycle scene shows a tender side of James and you really see how crazy he is for Cassidy. Plus, after they get back... Holy Cow, talk about STEAMY!

Just when you think you have an idea what's going to happen, you're given new information to deal with. At around 85% in, I found myself saying 'wait, wth just happened?!?'. Then, certain things start to click into place. The author also does a great job of giving you information then spinning it around. There's something that happens right in the first few chapters that had me wondering... Why did this happen so early? and where will she go from here? Then much later you start getting pieces of the puzzle.

This book doesn't end in a cliffhanger, but by no means is anything tied up (no pun intended... Read the book and you'll understand).

Overall, a great first book by this newbie author. Can't wait for the rest of the series!!

I really enjoyed this book! There were a few similarities to other books, but in my opinion, this book was better written.
I do want to warn you though, there is a lot of sex. A lot. If you do not want to read that, then you want to skip this book.
Cassidy is a fierce redhead (which I love). She has the passion and the intensity, as well as the temper, associated with redheads. She's been through some traumatic events and is moving on with her life.
James is a sexy, mysterious, character and I went back and forth from loving him to hating him. Often within a few sentences. He is drawn to Cassidy.
These 2 love hard and fight hard.
There were a couple of small things that I found, but nothing that really took away from the story.
There's intensity, passion, drama, suspense, and hot sex in Letting Go.
Supporting characters are really great and I found myself really liking Cal and Jane.
There are some temper tantrums in the book, but I am a redhead, and I do know that I personally have them too when I reach my limit, so I actually really appreciated them in the book. I thought it made it more "real".
Is this is A+B=C happily ever after book?
No, it's not, but it IS a book that if you like rollercoasters and books that engage you, you will love.
I give Letting Go, 4.5 stars and I can't wait to read more from JM Witt.

Letting Go
By J.M.Witt
4/5

A Cracker of a First Book
When I was asked to read Michelle's first book I had little to go on, however I like that means I am not looking for stuff to happen.
Chapter 1 is the quiet before the storm , chapter 2 packs a punch, Michelle is very brave to have this as her second chapter, and she really pulls it off, and you don't find out the what and why of chapter 2 until later, (very clever ).
Cass is level headed with an overly protective Cop of a brother, Calvin is so sweet, and I just love how he would do anything for his sister.
Cass's attraction for James go's back months I just love how they re- meet, and as it turns out James is just as protective as Calvin just I don't think he sees it, however its as clear as the nose on your face as you read this book.( James can't see the wood for the trees )
Cass has had more than her fair share of trauma to deal with in her young life, this makes her slightly insecure, and has a tendency to doubt others intentions, as it turns out James is just as insecure, on the outside he is a real cool playboy however inside he is insecure and is scared to open up, he try's to keep people at arms length and handle his turmoil on his own, it takes some time for him to finally let Cass in.
I really loved how you got to see this story from more than one point of view, made is so much more interesting and enjoyable, there are a couple of low life's that try to spoil everything, however one of their backgrounds I did not see coming , great twist ( I so love twists you don't see coming ).
There are a few things going on in this book, and I'm sure they will appear in the future books, I am also sure there will be more surprises and twists to come, however that does not mean that this book ends on a cliff hanger, not all the loose ends are tied up however there is enough unresolved to leave you wanting more and still have an enjoyable ending to the book.

(ARC received from author in exchange for an honest review)

This is a debut book for J.M Witt and she has done a great job with it.

The synopsis reads as though this is a second chance at love but this is not really the case. If you avoid books that are second chance love one DON’T avoid this one. Cassie sees/meets James while out and about but they do nothing about the obvious attraction between them. Cassie has gone through numerous tragedies with one being quite recent. I love the way that the author has managed the order in which the book has been written. You read the first few chapters and it leaves you wondering where on earth she can take the book next. Which is fab because you just don’t expect the rest. This is definitely a book that keeps you hooked by keeping you guessing.

The main characters really complement each other well. Cassie is a strong woman, she’s been through the mill few times but has come out on top. A little damaged but not altogether broken. James is a playboy, he’s high profile and everything his does is broadcast to everyone who will read it. He’s not dominating and I like that about him. He’s protective sure but he doesn’t try to walk all over Cassie.

I’m not sure if I like how the author changes the POV through the book. At first it was quite difficult to grasp. However, after a while I did manage to grasp it and the book moved smoothly for me after that. The book doesn’t end on a cliff-hanger but the story of Cassie and James is far from over and I really can’t wait to see what happens next because there are no clues as to which way this story will go!

Wow this is a powerful work of art here. The Author takes you on journey of love, heart break and murder even. The story is laid out well and the plot is very well thought out.
James the main male character in this book is tall, dark, handsome and rich. He has had his eye on our Cassidy for a while as she has had her eye on him; can they overcome all the odds and end up together? This is an adult book and has some BDMS in it but is well done and not violent. I cannot wait to read book two. A job well done.

This guy is amazing with her! I got a little disoriented with the changes in POV but got the hang of it. He has everything. Sexy, alpha, hot, responsible, sweet, honest, you name it- he has it. Also the book is just enough down to earth. You get to read about real every day things that we do. Really looking forward to the next one to know more about their journey...and the family. They are made for each other but I would really like him to manhandle me...

What a great read! 4.5 Stars!

What an awesome debut novel by JM Witt! The story she weaves around James and Cassidy draws you in and wraps you up, making you want more and wishing you had a James all of your own!

Both Cassidy and James have secrets and scars from their past. James has wanted Cassidy since he first met her at the bar he owns, but fate intervenes…Cassidy’s best friend Holly is killed during a drug/gang related shooting that occurs outside of James’s bar, and Cassidy spends the next several months immersing herself in work, trying to get through each day and avoid the memories of that tragic night. When Cassidy’s job as an event planner leads her back to James, who happens to be the owner of the hotel that is hosting the Masquerade event she is planning, sparks fly between the two. Although she is drawn to James, the depth of her attraction scares her.
“I’m scared of what I feel when I’m around you. You scare the hell out of me.” He looked stricken and dropped his hands from my face. “Not afraid of you, afraid of this,” I waved my hand between us. “I’ve never been so drawn to someone.”

Even though the sexual chemistry between the two is off the charts, there are many bumps and detours as they try to navigate through their relationship. James and Cassidy have to learn to trust each other, which doesn’t come easy to either of them due to events in their past. When Cassidy learns of and is subject to the consequences of James’s very public persona, she is faced with having to confront the demons of her own past and decide if a relationship with James is worth it.
“We all have a past; you know that better than anyone. His just happens to be well documented. Don’t let his past dictate your future.”

James and Cassidy are both great characters. James is both hot and sweet…scorching in the bedroom (or the couch, or the elevator, or…) but also a total romantic. Cassidy is smart and sassy and although she is willing to let James dominate her in the bedroom, she is not afraid to stand up for herself and take the initiative on occasion.
I wiped his lips with my thumb then proceeded to lick my thumb clean. James let out a groan. It was sexy as hell and I knew what I was doing.

The supporting characters were also fabulous – Cassidy’s brother Cal and James’s cousin Jane are great by themselves and even better once they start dating. Can’t wait to read more about the two of them!
And even though Cassidy’s best friend Holly was only in the beginning of the book, she definitely factored into the entire book, especially for Cassidy. One of my favorite passages from the book is when Cassidy shares with James why she has a tattoo of an anchor:
“We were all the other had for a long time. Cal was in Afghanistan and Holly didn’t have any family. It was just the two of us.”
“So was her anchor in the same spot?”
“Actually, she got wings on her back. We were inspired by a sign we saw once in a store window. ‘You are the anchor that keeps my feet on the ground and I am the wings that keep your heart in the clouds’ or something like that. I was her anchor, she was my wings.”

The only minor issue that I had with the overall story was that there was a couple of times during the POV switches where things got a bit choppy, but once my mind caught up with the words the story continued to flow.

Although this book wasn’t a cliffhanger, there is definitely more to James and Cassidy’s story, and I can’t wait to find out what happens next! What a great read!

This is book one in the Anchored Hearts Series.
I gave this book 5 stars.

This is James and Cassidy's story.

Cassidy love her life she has a best friend a wonderful job and when she isn't working she is out with her friends partying with them. Her boyfriend Dan is just what she needs because she is not really looking for anything serious. But when she meets James the owner of the bar and they shake hands there is an instant attraction. James feels it and so does Cassidy. They don't act on it. Yes, she wants to see him as much as she can, and I am sure that he feels the same way. But she stays faithful to her man. Even though it gets harder and harder to think straight when she is around James. One night while Cassidy is in the bathroom she comes out and runs face first into James' chest , just as they are about to talk tragedy strikes and things are turned upside down.

Cassidy's life is not the same she goes to live with her brother and doesn't see James for quite sometime. Once she does seem him again that is when things start to change. She still has feelings for him, but she is unsure of him and not sure if all that happened before is his fault.

I loved James. He was caring and loving. He listened to Cassidy and he had patience. That girl has a fiery temper, just like her hair!! Man watch out when she gets mad. But James knows what he wants and he wants her. He has secrets and when she finds these out will it be a game changer for her? Cassidy has been hurt and crushed and is just starting to put her life back together. Can James help her heal? These two damaged souls are just what the other needs. She needs James' strength and his love. He makes her a better person and vice versa.

Cassidy and James set the pages on fire. There was so much sex I was a puddle in the middle of the couch while reading this. It is one of those books that sucked me in and before i knew it I was at the end and didn't even look to see how long I was into the book. (I do that a lot) Not only did I love Cassidy and James I loved her brother Cal and James' cousin Jane. These two had sparks flying off the pages as well.
I cannot wait to have their story continued in book 2 .. but first you will get a taste of Cal and Jane in book 1.5 a Novella. YOU do NOT want to miss this series. There is Sex, love, pain, raw emotion, and more sex!! A story that will captivate you from page one all the way to the end! Thank you J.M. for a spectacular book!!!

OH LA LA! MUST READ!

This book is H.O.T.!! I loved it! Right from the beginning it captivates you.

I loved how honest Cassidy is with her self, she's a strong female character. She deals with some tragedy ( ill try to not give to much away), but she holds her own. she doesn't let it destroy her, but there's a lot about it she doesn't know. Until a blast from the past walks back into her life sweeping her off her feet and filling her in along the way.

James Benedict III (JB3). MY OH MY where do I begin with JB3. Millionaire playboy, Hottest bachelor in the city, Sweet heart, a man who knows what he wants and is not afraid to go after it. He s had it bad for Cassidy since the first time he laid eyes on her. Tragedy happened and kept them apart until he found the courage to see her again.

Cassidy is a party planner and JB3 owns the hotel hosting the masquerade she's been working so hard on. It was lust at first sight. She couldn't resist him, but to be fair no one could. He treats her like a princess and falls in love with her (although he wont admit it at first). He finds himself going out of his way to please her both in and out of the bed room.

Things get very heated between these two, VERY heated. Jb3 introduces her to his kinky side with some mild bsdm. ( I think he was testing the waters, per say) Cass was more then happy to oblige.

One of my favorite things about this book is that it keeps you on your toes. you are constantly second guessing what you think you know is going to happen. Its raw and believable. They are very playful with each other. The chemistry between theses two is through the roof!

After reading this I sall that people were comparing JB3 with Christian Grey, and although there are some similar quality's in my opinion James is a better boyfriend the Grey. He's not obsessive or controlling. He's nurturing and loving. He only takes control in the bed room and even then he lets her take the reins and take him for a ride.

I gave this book 5 stars because it had me hanging on every word. Its one of those book you can read over and over.

Please J.M Witt Finish the second installment to this series I simply can not wait.

The beginning of this story starts off with a life changing tragedy, but then picks up and forward. It is fast paced and straight to the point. Just how I like it. :D

Cassidy and James under the best of circumstance both had so much going on for them both when they first met.  They can sense a connection between the two of them whenever their eyes met.  A tragedy strikes and their connection is severed by betrayal, lies, and mistrust.  A few months later with persuasion or rather fate, they meet again and the sparks ignite and over flow.  Their attraction is palpable enough that there is a constant tension from both of them whenever they are around each other.  After talking about the tragedy that took place that one fateful night they get close.  At this point in the story is where I have to give a warning because it gets HOT! Some people don't like them, but I do.  It gets hot and heavy in the bedroom with James and Cassidy and it is smoking.  The smoking is the kind where you need a fresh towelette or two, and wear shamwow underwear or none at all.  Either is fine.  The relationship that James and Cassidy have is an all consuming one.  When they are around each other they only have eyes for one another and the connection they have is deep. An old nemesis shows up and makes trouble for Cassidy and James and makes it harder than it should be for them. The lies that this nemesis plants has the potential to rip these two apart. Can James persuade Cassidy that they are lies? Can Cassidy trust James? One Click this book to know. It is worthy.

All the characters have a purpose in this story and it warms my heart that it is both smutty and adorable.  They are all a bunch of good people with a good head on their shoulder.  They bring out the worse and best in each character.  The story is witty and humorous with a lot of hotness.  I think I have to mention Jane and Calvin because they are so cute and I hope that there will be more about these characters in the next books in the series.

Awesome 4 Stars!

Like many contemporary romance novels – There is a LOT more to the lives of the main characters than the readers sees at the beginning of the story and what a wonderful journey that is!

Starting with two best friends, Cassidy and Holly, who often feel as if they are all there is for each other we get to enjoy a snapshot of their relationship – One where they feel, even to the reader, as if they are closer than sisters and support each other as such. But that happiness is soon lost and, as we find out, the true root of evil that nearly destroys our young heroine, Cassidy, is hidden behind secrets.

But, Cassidy is a survivor who picks up the pieces and finds a new direction until she finds, James, the man she believes responsible for Holly’s loss, again. He has demons in his closet as well, and Cassidy’s overprotective cop brother, Cal, is aware of some of them and more than willing to fight to help his sister keep her sanity and her heart intact. Soon, however, circumstances force their secrets to be brought forward and we find out that, while James is struggling with a great many issues, Cassidy is still trying to conquer her troubled teenage years.

Not just a survivor but strong-willed as well, Cassidy refuses to listen to everyone and follow her heart, by surrendering to James, completely, and through the ecstasy they find with each other – she also begins to learn to trust again and leaves the reader waiting and wanting the next installment of their story. But theirs is not the only love story hidden in these pages, Cal, also finds someone to care about and love, James’ cousin, Jane. Then J.M. Witt ends by sharing a secret with the reader, as the epilogue shows us that Jane may have even more secrets in her past.

Letting Go is a journey well begun and one I cannot wait to continue.

Sizzling yet sweet. Wear oven mitts while reading this one ladies - it brings the heat, as well as the spice. I would give it 4 1/2 stars if possible. I reserve 5 stars for stories that make me cry and/or laugh aloud. While this one did neither, it did give me a huge case of 2 deadly sins - envy and lust. Oh my! Christian Grey is a hack compared to my new BBF (Book Boy Friend)! JB3 is a much better boyfriend, and I just love his moniker. In addition to the steamy, spicy, juicy, sizzling sex scenes, (hmm) there is also a tender love story - which is ultimately what we all want… once we have caught our breath, cleaned ourselves up, and changed our clothes after getting through the steamy, spicy, and juicy stuff. Ms. Witt has done a fabulous job as I cared about and for all the characters, even the ancillary ones. I still feel invested in them, wish them well, and want to know what happens to them - all signs of a good tale. Obviously, given that the title states Vol. 1, it is meant to be a series, which I typically don't care for... but this book actually had an ending and can stand on it's own. No irritating cliffhanger - which I personally despise as much as flying cockroaches and biting ants. Ms. Witt calls herself a stay-at-home mom. I call her an insightful and talented author. I hope to be reading more of her breath-stealing work for years to come. Make me cry next time Ms Witt and I'll give you 5 stars ;)

What begins as a chance meeting changes two lives forever.

Cassidy Charles is happy with life until tragedy strikes and everything turns upside down. Picking herself back up, she runs into the one man who was with her on that fateful night, James, and she has no idea what to do next!

James Benedict III, also known as JB3, is notorious in his town. A playboy and real estate investor, James can’t stop thinking of Cassidy. He holds the key to the secrets of that horrible night but is afraid of losing Cassidy.

Will they discover that the truth can set you free and allow their love to thrive or will they let the past ruin them before they even begin?

J.M. Witt knows the meaning of a page turner! With little pieces of the puzzle being gathered along the way, you just can’t help but turn the next page in hopes to solving it! With heat and passion that can’t be matched, this book both thrilled me and made me need a huge glass of ice water! A must-read in my book, make sure and pick it up today!

I have had this book on my Kindle for awhile and am so glad I finally got to read it. For me the the plot built slowly but it was a nice literary device. When the plot lines came together, they hit the reader full force. I enjoyed Ms. Witt's characters, all of them are strong and resilient. Cassidy has had more than her fair share of tragedy in her life. These things appear to come back to haunt her, but the support of her brother and James will see her through any issues that she encounters. She has overcome a lot and deep down is a strong, sensual woman. James is developed nicely from an enigma into a strong, sexy, alpha male, who wants nothing more than to love and protect Cassidy. The progression of their relationship is well portrayed. The sex is steamy and the passion intense. I loved the meddling minor characters. They have more insight into the relationship developing between James and Cassidy than they do.Sorry no spoilers here, just a nicely done debut novel. I can't wait to see what the author has in store for these characters in the next books. While there is no cliff hanger, there are plot lines that leave the reader wondering. I hope to see more wonderful books from this author in the future.

Emotional roller coaster for sure. Well written, well developed characters both main and supporting.

Cassidy is a vibrant young lady who knows that she wants a career as a party planner. Her dating life is okay, nothing special at least not yet. She lives with her best friend and they are having the time if their lives for now.

James is this gorgeous mystery man she sees at a bar one night. She can't seem to get him out if her mind and her dreams. The chemistry between him and Cassidy is electrifying!

When James and Cassidy meet again several months later after a tragic event. They have some amazingly hot sex and quite frequently. So if you love those hot and steamy sex scenes then this book is for you. However it doesn't have the typical happily ever after that you would expect but it doesn't really leave you hanging either. I am really looking forward to reading the rest of brier story.

I really enjoyed the supporting characters of Cal and Jane. They were funny, supportive and right there for Cassidy and James. I am looking forward to their story as well.

There was so much emotion seeping from this book. It varied between laughter to tears and everything in between. James is the uber hot, protective, and loving. JM's writing is so descriptive that you can actually picture yourself in the story as it unfolds. For a debut novel, she has knocked this one out of the hotness park with the steaminess that is off the charts.

Cassidy's character dies not disappoint. She is a very strong female who has dealt with tragic events in her life that she has not let get her down. She should be an inspiration to all the whiny female characters that curl up in little balls and cry for an entire book. I love that she is her own person.

James on the other hand you thought from the beginning that he would be untouchable and stuck up.. He shocks you with his ability to love and protect and makes sure that all is right with his circle of family and friends. This is only the first book in a series and a definite must read

Cassidy and James met while she had a boyfriend, but both felt the spark when they shook hands. After a horrible tragedy, Cassidy is left broken and doesn't see James for a long time. When they find themselves again, the fire between them is smoldering HOT and a herd of stampeding buffaloes can't keep them apart.
The characters are wonderful and the storyline kept my attention. The book has everything to make a good story; drama, friendship, laughs, sorrow, lust, and love. The sex scenes burn HOT and the ALPHA factor is extremely high.
The story is told in dual POV and although the change was a little abrupt the first few chapters, it did improve and get a lot better. This is Vol 1 of a series, but you are not left with a devastating cliffhanger. You are left with enough suspense and questions, though, to make you want to read the next book and see where Cassidy and James take you.

Letting Go is a wonderfully written story by new Indie Author J. M. Witt. 2013 seemed to be my year to discover wonderful Indie Authors and their books. I was enthralled by so many intriguing stories and as the year came to a close I can add Letting Go to that list. Even though this review is posting in 2014 I actually finished the book a few days before New Years Eve.

What a brilliant debut book this was.
Cassidy has been through a lot yet she's come out the other side smiling. James is the oh so hot millionaire playboy. This is their story. It's a totally hot book with lots of sex in it. I loved the storyline. Although the POV changed a lot I totally loved this book. It doesn't end in a cliff hanger but there is certainly more to their story.
Received in return for an honest review.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review

In Letting Go by J.M. Witt we are introduced to Cassidy and James. Having only seen each other from afar, they are suddenly connected to one another through a tragic event and a lucky 2nd chance.
Cassidy Charles is a really fun character. While she has dealt with devastating and tragic events in her life she has been able to flourish and move on in her life. I have noticed a pattern lately in female characters who are very whiny and so back and forth with their emotions and thoughts. Cassidy isn’t this character! She is very witty, outspoken and has great taste in music! I loved the playlist for this book, and am actually listening to it while doing my review. I have said in previous reviews that I love a playlist for books. It connects the reader with the characters and the story and places you within certain scenes, most of the time very memorable scenes. The other thing I REALLY appreciated about Cassidy is she didn’t fight with James if he bought her something, I know it seems silly but I get so sick of characters going on and on when the male lead purchases a gift. She never fought against him and stomped her foot in independence only to succumb to what he was offering. Instead she said “thank you” and the scene moved on.
James Benedict III, is a well-known playboy. The press hounds him and women are all over him. However, Cassidy doesn’t make this connection until later in the story. James is also an awesome character. While BDSM is in this book and he is controlling and powerful in the bedroom, that’s where it stays. Outside of the bedroom he doesn’t try to dominate Cassidy, he isn’t overbearing or over protective. James and Cassidy’s dynamic, aside from some drama, is actually pretty normal. There is give and take and there is communication and understanding. There isn’t constant running away. Instead they both have the ability to understand that all is not what it seems until they get the true story. While moments in the book got heated with arguments or the unanswered questions, I was confident while reading that I wouldn’t be disappointed in the outcome or the answer that was provided.
The story was written in dual POV, going between Cassidy and James which helped dispel any angst or reader questions. Sometimes the POV would change between paragraphs going from Cassidy’s narration to James’s narration and then right back to Cassidy instead of having a noticeable break and at times it took me a second to realize what was going on. There were also a few times when it went from 1st person narration, Cassidy or James, to a 3rd person narration like the reader was looking in on them. While it didn’t happen often it did threw me off for a second. It didn’t necessarily ruin the story, I just found it odd. I loved this book, I enjoyed the dynamic between all of the characters, especially James and Cassidy, obviously! I cannot wait for more of them.

"Our tongues began a torrid dance that had my entire body standing at attention. It was a kiss I would never forget and one I never wanted to end".

I found it a little hard to read this book as sometimes one sentence is from Cassidy's POV and the next is James, I noticed it less as the story unfolded. (This was an ARC copy and the author is working on this with her editor prior to release) I was also left hanging at the end, it's not a cliffhanger but I expected more from the ending. Okay, enough of the negatives, let's get on with the stuff I did like!

The quote at the top is one of the few I dare post for decency sake, there's a lot of sex in this book, it's got a bit of a kink to it as well. There's shower scenes, spanking scenes, bound to the bed scenes and christening most of the furniture as well. You'd think with that much of it the story would get lost but it doesn't, although it has a fair few twists and turns along the way. This book doesn't really resolve anything, it sets up the plot and questions for future books to finish off, but it does set up several plot lines well.

Cassidy seems a fairly straightforward and likeable character, you get what you see, although she has gone through quite some stuff in her time. James is the typical business man billionaire with a string of women and a touch of kink, that said he's probably more charming and likeable than most of them. He's a hot biker as well :-).

I was concerned by the introduction of BDSM to the plot line, if it's not handled well it can ruin a book, it will be interesting to see how it develops in book two but it came across as more kink in this one, as Cassidy learns what she enjoys and wants. She's being gently introduced to the ideas, but thankfully no play rooms or contracts are involved. This book teeters on the edge of some of the cliches that adorn the pages of too many books these days, but it manages to stay just on the right side.

I've got a dozen or more questions I want answers to, but asking them would spoil the plot for you. It gradually builds through the book, and I honestly thought it would lead to a cliffhanger the way it started to develop, but no, it fizzled out just before I would have become shouty and disappointed. (Yes, I do get vocal with my Kindle if the content disagrees with me!)

Cassidy's brother Cal is a big softie, over protective brother and I've got visions of him as Magic Mike after the auction scene. Did I mention he's ex military and a policeman as well.

So we have hot men, kinky sex, a mystery brewing and some quite likeable female characters on top. Yes, I think I would like to read book two and carry on this intriguing journey.

5 Hot and Sizzling Stars!!!

LOVED everything about this story, the character's connections, the emotions, the twists and turns....all of it!!!!

JM Witt has done an amazing job expressing the sexual desire two people can share, even when their worlds are being torn apart. I felt the loss and hurt Cassidy experiences and the lust and raw emotion James poured into her wounds. These two characters start slow and steady, but holy hell....just wait.

Just when you think all is happy and calm....BAM a twist comes at you that you weren't expecting. This author kept me on my toes and I never wanted to put it down....well done JM :)

Favorite lines....

"Cassidy, I know you felt it all those months ago. I felt it, too and still do."

"You can call me James, though God is nice, too."

"Burn me if you must."

"Hands off, you're mine! I don't play nice with others."

"At that moment every trivial thing telling me to run from him seemed to fall away. Be careful, you're playing with fire. I like fire. Burn me if you must."

Say goodbye to Christian Grey and say hello to Jackson James Benedict III!!!!
Dominate--CHECK, Hot elevator sex--CHECK, billionaire with a rocky past--DOUBLE CHECK! The chemistry between Cassidy and James is panty wetting for anyone reading this book!

Cassidy is a young party planner that is slowly moving up the chain in her job. She has just landed two big jobs and is excited to pull them off and show her boss that she is capable of the work load. She first sees James in a bar and the attraction is instant, even from across the crowded bar, once she meets him, she can't stop thinking about him. A night out with her best friend ends in tragedy and it takes months for Cassidy to get over it.

"Once I had her I knew I would never get enough."

James is a HOT, rich man that owns several different properties, including the hotel that Cassidy has her auction at for work. Trade in a helicopter for a motorcycle and some hot bondage ideas and you have James!! He is a strong dominate that knows what he wants and will do anything to get it or her. He hasn't seen Cassidy since the night of the tragedy but can't get her face out of his head.
An accidental run in at the hotel one night and SPARKS fly! Cassidy fights it at first, not wanting to mix business with pleasure….oh the pleasure!! But after a steamy meeting in an elevator, she may just change her mind.

"James, this can't happen." HE whispered into my ear, "It already has, Cassidy."
Both Cassidy and James has their issues to work out. James was well known as a playboy and never kept and woman for longer than needed. Of course, Cassidy wasn't made aware that at first, so you can imagine the firestorm that occurred when she did find out! Their story is full of hot sex, hot sex, and more hot sex, but sex doesn't make all of a relationship. Get the book to find out what happens between James and Cassidy!!!

"You're going to change my life Cassidy Charles, aren't you?"

"It was a kiss that I was meant to remember and I knew that I would, just like all his kisses.

Cassidy is an event planner and hasn’t had any luck with dating or men in general. In the beginning, Cass is living with best friend Holly and dating bassist Dan. Enter James, the new bar owner of The Blue Horse where Dan’s band currently plays. Cass becomes obsessed with seeing, touching, and hearing James. Until one night changes everything. Cass has so much to overcome and being a red headed Scorpio doesn’t help! As Cass is planning an annual masquerade ball for a high profile client, she literally runs into James again. The chemistry and lust is instant!

Through tragedy, James tries to stay away from Cass, but one look at her as she stumbles out of the elevator and he knows that he can no longer resist his “Blackbird”!

At first, I felt like this book moved really fast. The first two chapters have so much happening that I wasn't sure how there would be much of a story for rest of the book. Lord, JM Witt did NOT let me down! Letting Go has everything a good book must have! Lust, drama, death, tears, laughs, friendship, and love. Oh my and sex scenes!! I can't forget the sex scenes!!! The book does switch POV’s but it’s such an easy transaction you almost know when to expect it! I love that you know exactly how James feels throughout the book.

I absolutely love that JM Witt kept me guessing. Even though a lot happened in the first two chapters, there is enough excitement to last through the entire book. I loved that each chapter brought something new with it!
There isn’t a cliffhanger but there is definitely some questions left unanswered! I can’t wait see where the next book takes Cass and James!

Good start to a new series !

This is book one in a new series from New author Michelle Witt

Firstly I did enjoy this book each chapter left me wanting more, but at times it also left me confused, as I couldn't tell who's POV the story was being told from. In places there would be one line from James and the next from Cassidy this was not easy to read or understand and I found myself having to re-read sections again.
Although this seemed to be sorted by the middle of the book.

Having said that I did find the story line interesting and different, yes he was the commitment phobic play boy and she is the gob smacked by his beauty girl, but there is more to their stories than just that, they have both had tragedies to deal with and in some cases are still dealing with but finding each other helps them to grow and ultimately love. In some places the author includes POV from other characters this provides depth in the story, all the characters are very well thought though.
To the sex scenes,we all love a good sex scene, Michelle is able to write a detailed believable scene, at times I felt it was too much like FSOG and I felt too many sex many scenes.
Although this book doesn't have a cliff hanger it does leave a few unanswered questions.
This all leaves one question would I read the next book ?
Yes I would !
on the whole an enjoyable book.
