"Secrets of Seduction" is the story of Skye and Hawk.

A very sweet romance between a determined and feisty heroine and a scarred hero.
The hero is an elite member of the Guardians of the sword, and has a glorious past working as a spy. However, the death of his beloved wife and child in an accident broke him, and now he spends his time brooding with the help of spirits.
Enter the heroine, who uses her uncle's lost love to wiggle her way into his home. Slowly, they become intimate and the heroine is hopeful he will find love with her. But can he open his heart to her?

Predictable and fast paced with minimal drama, a moment of angst and a HEA.

Enjoyed it.

Safe for me/SWE for some

Secrets of Seduction is a very sweet and a cute Historical Romantic read, for that let me say its not difficult at all to read this book. The Language is not of the old times, the author has done a great job to show the beauty of the two MC ^^

 photo SS_zpsf7bb56aa.jpg

Lets start with Hawk ^^ he is a traumatized hero who lost his family in a fire and has been very lonely for a long time. He is a member of the Guardians who strive to protect the common man.

The leader of the Guardians now wants to retire and wishes Hawk to take in the Reins for which he has to marry the elder's great grand Niece.

Enters Lady Skye who is a born romantic and believes in the story of Beauty and the Beast. She meets Hawk who is an Earl when she is 13 and falls in love with him, but at the time he had been married.

Lady Skye who is now 23 is in pursuit to convince Hawk that she is the one for him :)

I loved the way they meet... I must say Skye has been relentless in pursuing Hawk hahahahaha... the way she manipulates him to believe that he deserves to be happy :D

The way they made love the 1st time... wow what passion :D

 photo 27af4841b873d951ec650a3aef9baedc_zps6d6f881e.jpg

The 2nd time where he is hesitant but then he falls for her seduction and timidness :D

 photo 55445b931a9762c822441d4196e03f38_zps172bd154.jpg

She is a seductress plus innocent what a combination, he teaches her how to pleasure him *Swoon*

 photo 4bff6f11d732b8487fd349f4d37d0b10_zps78f272a8.jpg

In midst of all this she who is a hopeless romantic wishes for her Uncle to find his long lost love and together she and Hawk go in search of his uncle's lover and when they finally find her and reunite the lover with her uncle... WOW!!! just so emotional :P

The whole book is sweet and an easy read :D

The passion is amazing :

Now what happens in the end? Whether does Hawk come back to Skye? or he has to maintain his duty towards the Guardian by marrying the Great Grand Niece and follow his duty and not heart... You need to read it ;)

For me 4* NJOY!!!

This was a really nice story where the heroine pursued the brooding, hurt, reclusive Hero. I loved it. Hero kept pushing the heroine away. He had no time nor intention for this beautiful, bright ray of sunshine in his life. Yet, he couldn't help feeling delighted ... happy. He's been down in his sorrows for so long he forgot what it was like to ... feel.
Loved the banter.
Loved the amazing chemistry.

Lady Skye has always believed in the "Legendary Lovers" for her family, and she knows her legend will be Beauty and the Beast. Skye has always been fascinated with the earl of Hawkhurst ever since she was young. Now he is back in England, and she is determined to win his love no matter what she has to do to get it done. Hawk lost his wife and infant son to a house fire years ago, and has immersed himself in danger among the continent in order to keep the pain at bay. Hawk still blames himself, and even though he himself got burned himself, he still lost his family. Now he is back in England, and made a promise to take over the Guardians of the Sword and in order to do that he will need to marry a young lady he has never met and will only be a marriage of convenience, and then his world goes haywire when a bewitching siren shows up on his doorstep in need of his help. At first Hawk would rather just kick her back to London, but she is tenacious and he can't help but find himself drawn to her. Before he realizes it, they share a passionate night of sensuality and desire. And when he reluctantly agrees to help her with her problem finding her uncles long lost love, which begins a fierce battle of these two hearts but who will win and will their romance be legendary?

Secrets of Seduction was a phenomenal story, that had me tingling all the way through. There was so much that I enjoyed from this story. I doubt I will be able to express everything I felt about it. Ever since I first started reading this series, I have found it fun and engaging and sweet. Secrets of Seduction is as heartwarming as the previous two books in the series. I think from the first page I liked this heroine. Sometimes I have a difficult time getting into their character, but Skye was practically addicting and I almost wished I could be just like her. She is stubborn and tenacious with a bit of playfulness and boy does she know how to go about a seduction despite the fact that she is a virgin. We see the multiple tricks up her sleeve to get Hawk to step out of his shell and take a chance on the love she offers. Hawk is the perfect "Beast" character, he is scarred inside and out, has a temper and growls (but boy was that sexy). I did enjoy the theme of this book, and I also loved the little sub plot we have going on with Skye's uncle and his long lost love.

The characters in this story were engaging and fun loving and I felt my heartstrings being constantly pulled with variety of emotions. Nicole Jordan knows how to weave a beautiful romance that gets the reader fully involved in the story. There was quite a bit happening in the plot, not too much, but enough to keep your mind thinking and imaging. From beginning to end you are captivated by this tender relationship that forms between Hawk and Skye. Overall a stunning romance that shot a arrow straight to the core of my romantic heart. I couldn't help but fall in love with this story and these charming characters that pulled me in from the start. A TREASURE OF A FAIRY TALE ROMANCE!!

A very fun, super sweet romance, Secrets of Seduction was an amazing historical romance. I loved this book! It was fun, romantic, and just brilliant.

Skye was a wonderful heroine. She was so genuinely likable. She was clever, kind, and.determined, though she knew when to admit defeat. She brought a lot of humor and lightheartedness into the book, with her fondness of teasing Hawk, and it made the book fun to read. She was just lovely and I really liked her character.

Hawk was also amazing. He was haunted by the death of his wife and newborn son in a fire that he couldn't save them from. He thought himself no longer capable of loving and resigned himself to a marriage of convenience. Until a lady determined to fall in love forced her way into his life. Hawk, underneath his formidable exterior, was so sweet and adorable. He was very clever and protective of those he loved. A few times, I wanted to shake some sense into him for almost letting the love of his life get away. But, I still absolutely adored him.

The romance was lovely. Skye and Hawk were a perfect couple. They were both very clever and definitely met their match in each other. Their feelings for each other, even when a certain someone was in denial, were always clear and they were so sweet together. And, the chemistry between them was sizzling from the moment they met. They had a difficult time keeping their hands off each other and it certainly led to tons of steaminess. I thought they were wonderful together.

The plot was fast paced and I was hooked the entire way through. I really liked the secondary story about Skye's uncle and his lost love. It was very sweet and added a delightful element of buried secrets. I really enjoyed the story and the ending was lovely. Can't wait to read the next book in the series!

Secrets of Seduction was a fantastic historical romance. I absolutely loved this book! It was fun, romantic, and a truly enjoyable read. Romance lovers, this is a book not to be missed.

Enjoyable read!

Was drawn into the story from the first few pages. The romance and pace was excellent. Steam level excellent but also had a sweet element too.

Skye was a well round heroine who was strong, independent minded but had a softness to her also. Her love for Hawk was beautiful to behold. She was so loving and patient in drawing him back to happiness and out of his grief and darkness.

Hawk, oh what a hero!!! He was a wounded soul who was dealing with his grief and pain, but also had a tender and lonely heart. Beautiful watching him open up to Skye, heal and fall in love.

A romance that leaves you with a smile on your face and a warm heart.

While there are steamy scenes early in the story, there's no real romance until the last 1/3 third of the book.
I want to say I enjoyed this story but there was something about Hawk held me back. For one he was a bit too cold and kept resisting his feelings for Skye. I get he had lost his wife and kid but it wasn't Sky 's fault. I don't see why he had to be rude.
Then, there was Skye. I liked her for her stubbornness and mischievous ways. If it wasn't for her they'd never been together. A nice change of a the girl pursuing the guy.
In all, I usually enjoy historical romance here and there. This one was an okay read but nothing extraordinary.

Secrets of Seduction was a very sweet romance with a delightful twist on the tale of Beauty and the Beast and I really enjoyed it!

Lady Skye Wilde has secretly loved the Earl of Hawkhurst since she was a girl. After learning he’s returned to England to make a marriage of convenience, Skye arrives on his doorstep determined to persuade him to choose her instead. Hawk vowed never to love again after the tragedy that left him physically scarred and took the lives of his wife and young son. However, Hawk didn’t count on Skye and the passion she would bring into his life. Soon, Skye helps Hawk see the joy in life again and he’s left with a choice of love or duty to the organization that saved him in his darkest hours.

Skye was definitely my favorite Wilde cousin in the previous books in the series. She's incredibly passionate and is determined to get everything she wants out of life. I admired her confidence that she'd be able to convince Hawk that she's the best person for him. I don't read many historical romances where the heroine is the instigator in the relationship, so that was a nice change of pace. Also, as with all of the other Wilde cousins, family means a great deal to Skye and you can really tell how much this family loves each other.

Hawk suffered through a terrible loss when his wife and young son died and he was too late to save them. After their deaths, he left England and joined a secret division of the government which led to him risking his life over and over as he no longer cared if he lived or died. Upon returning to England, he’s a very reserved individual and isolates himself from nearly everyone. He’s definitely a grump and has a tendency to growl at anything that displeases him. He doesn’t believe his marriage will be a happy one and is convinced he can never love again.

Skye and Hawk definitely had a very passionate relationship. These two had great chemistry and their first scene in bed was fantastic (and came way sooner than I expected). There is a lot of push/pull in their relationship as at the start Hawk is determined to wed the grand-niece of the head of the organization he works for. Watching Hawk slowly fall for Skye despite not wanting to was a lot of fun to watch. Plus, when these two finally get together, it's incredibly sweet and I was very satisfied with how everything turned out.

The original way Skye convinced Hawk to let her stay was that she hired him to help find her uncle’s long lost love believed to be dead. Skye and Hawk’s quest to find the missing woman and reunite her with Skye’s uncle was enjoyable. It provided some great scenes where the two got to be alone without anyone interfering. I also was very happy to see Skye’s uncle get a chance at happiness after everything he’d done for the Wilde cousins.

Overall, Secrets of Seduction has been my favorite of the Legendary Lovers series thus far and I look forward to reading more books from this author.

. . per poi perdersi in un amplesso sorto troppo presto, secondo me.

E in seguito, dopo quell'esplosione di passione, puff.
Zero.
Nada.

This was a good historical romance.

Skye, has had a crush on Hawk since she was little... Like 8, if I remember right. Since then, he was married, had a baby son & lost them in a fire.

Hawk went off as a "Guardian of the Sword" fighting & not caring if he lived or died. Upon his return, he decided he would start courting the niece of the leader of the guardians & marry her. Loveless or not. So he could eventually lead the group.

Then, along pops up Skye, seeking Hawk out at his half ruined house, under the pretense of hiring him to find her uncle's lost love & seducing Hawk into marriage for herself thinking he is her true love (because of loving him when she was 8) and now her story of love follows the tale of Beauty & the Beast, like the rest of her families love lives following other fairy tales (A "whateverrr" moment for sure!)

It was a cute fast paced book & the characters were interesting. I became somewhat leery of Skye & her motives at some point. I'm not sure if they were really selfish or if she cared about her uncle beyond her motives of seduction. I mean really, an innocent trip for comfort after a bad dream, but voila, she has birth control? And 1980's BC that was discontinued because of TSS? That was weird... So, it lost a star.

This book is good enough to recommend, and I will read more. So, when you read it, you'll know the moment of the birth control when you read it... In the way of romance, it isn't very graphic. And I would let my mom borrow my copy, if that tells you anything. So enjoy the beach read this spring & you won't have to hide it from your fellow plane passengers. They won't think you're a total freak if they read it over your shoulder... unless you're on the BC page!!

C'mon Skye, really? From beginning to end, Skye was a massive disappointment in this book, particularly when she's supposedly the calm one of the Wilde clan.

I appreciate how the story kicks-off with her taking the initiative in obtaining her Legendary Lover. There's nothing wrong with an alpha female knowing what she wants, and going for it. I particularly dislike the double standard where men can pursue a woman and it's romantic, but when a woman does it's taboo.

The problem with this story is that Skye basically browbeats Hawk into bending to her will. He repeatedly rejects her, and does his damnedest to resist every time she throws herself on him (and, yes, she even stoops to stripping in front of him to get her way). She moves into his home, invites the rest of her family to come stay, and takes control of the house duties and remodeling - completely without his consent. On top of this, she coerces Hawk into "helping" her find her uncles long, lost love.

I've got to give Hawk a little credit for trying to resist her, but I think it's safe to say any other male would have tossed the busybody stalker out on her ass. But, really, how he could fall in love with her after how annoying she was says a lot about his lack of character.

On several occasions I seriously considered putting this book down. The only reason I kept reading was because the previous two stories were really good, and I had hopes this one would redeem itself. Now I'm concerned that Kate's story is going to run along the same vein.

3.5 Channeling Colin Firth stars!

This was a really cute historical romance. Had a nice pacing and flow, sprinkles of eroticism here and there but bit more tame than reads I had completed lately. Centered around the very likeable heroine pursuing the flawed and emotionally damaged hero, with a side plot providing some suspense. This book really focuses on the relationship between the pair, less time spent on summarizing medieval England like some other in this genre. What was esp. refreshing was it lacked some of the naïve immaturity I've found with other virginal romance novels, there was a refreshing amount of honesty between the characters that prevented a lot of unnecessary drama which I really liked.

I think what was missing was seeing the two characters interact outside the home more, mostly takes place in an isolated area in a rundown castle, would have been nice to see them engage in society maybe with a couple moments of jealousy to provide some spice. But all in all smooth read and natural dialog, would consider reading more from this author.

I'm disappointed. I love books with the beauty and the beast theme, but this came up short of all my expectations.

Where are the deep, gutting emotions? Where is the love connection between Skye and Hawk? Where is the exciting plot?

Trying to seduce a man by making him agree to pursue your uncle's long lost lover is just extremely far fetched and a bit ridiculous.

Plus, can I just say how I hate the word 'loins'? It just sounds bad and dirty. I hate it as much as I hate the word 'pussy' in erotica/erotic fiction.

Bah. Not for me.

Secrets of Seduction was a fairy tale come to life and a delightful read for those who enjoy retellings of the classics. In this case...Beauty and the Beast...with an oh so cheerful and vibrant heroine in need of help from the grumbly and scared man she's been smitten with for most of her life. Ahh how I loved it!

The quick of it is that Skye is on a mission. Two really. She's found a packet of old love letters of her uncles and is determined to find his long lost love that he thought passed away years earlier but has been in hiding. And at the same time...she's gonna snag her a man. *nods* He may be a damaged man but he's had her eye since she was a teenager and according to her cousin the two are fated.
"Do you always get your way?" he grumbled when the carriage was moving.

She flashed him a brilliant smile and laughed softly. "Almost always," she replied without even a pretense of humility.

His lips twitched. "You are an aggravating, conniving little wretch, do you know?"

"Yes, I know, but I will grow on you over time."

Hawk gave a snort.
I loved these two. Skye and Hawk are so opposite in ways but so fun together. She's an optimist and romantic at heart, determined and persistent. And, okay, a little manipulative. But not in a bad way. I loved how she was and how she was almost pure of heart in wanting to help others despite a horrible loss as a child that still gives her nightmares. She was just sweet and endearing and made me smile.

And Hawk. Lord help me but I love a broody hero that grumbles and is damaged. And Hawk is a man with some serious demons after losing his wife and child in a horrible fire years earlier and suffering physical injuries as well from trying to save them. I loved this guy. He lost everything and has spend a decade of his life as a member of a secret group that spends it's time saving others from dangerous situations. And he just wants to be left alone to wallow in his losses. He's not fit for company and is fine staying that way.

And the man had absolutely no chance against a determined Skye. I loved that while they were so different in their outlooks they both struggled with some of the same things and as time went on were able to help each other heal. Parts absolutely made my heart clutch and had me in tears as they worked past them and others...had me chuckling or fanning myself because damn, yeah, these two despite their differences fit real nice.
*she's trying to get Hawk alone for a bit of seduction when this scene kicks off...*

His chuckle of disbelief was followed by a penetrating scrutiny. "Do you know your trouble? You are too damn manipulating."

"Usually that is true, but not in this case, I swear. I truly need your opinion on restoring this room. And my notebook and apron were not a ruse to fool you but the servants. I needed a legitimate reason for us to be here, and I could think of no other way we could have privacy, and I was afraid you wouldn't come with me if I simply invited you... You are stubbornly unyielding, Hawk, and it is infuriating, really--"

"Be quiet, sweeting. You are babbling."

Skye obeyed, in part because she was running out of breath. When he hesitated, she peered up at him through her lashes. "Kissing me would be an excellent way to silence me."

Heh. I just love her manipulations and how cheeky she can be. She'd be a force to be reckoned with once she set her mind on something for sure. Definitely was for Hawk.

The "mystery" was fun as well. I loved seeing how they pieced things together and found the woman Skye was looking for even though I didn't love the woman they sought. The traveling and interviewing and such was exciting and entertaining and had me turning the pages wanting to see what would happen next.

Secrets of Seduction was quickly eeking up to a 4.5 for me but there were two things that derailed me just a bit. And it's totally gonna come off ranty but really these were kinda minor things just dropped it half a star. But still... First. Follow through. In this case with sex. See. In one scene the heroine used sponges to prevent pregnancy. Very neat scene. Different, right? But...the follow through. ::shudder:: There was no dealing with the sponge post sex. And, okay. I know. Fiction. But *flails* ALL I could think for the next hundred pages was the heroine was walking around London with a sponge up her hooha. And that is just...seriously distracting! lol.

Second issue was dealing with the secondary storyline of finding her uncles long lost love who had faked her death to escape an abusive husband. I love the idea behind it but found Rachel very unlikable which took away some enjoyment since she was a focus of the storyline. My big issue was that when she faked her death she... I just couldn't get past that or feel any sympathy for what she'd "lost" and damn that apparently made me feel ranty. *nods*

Other than those two things I thoroughly enjoyed Secrets of Seduction. Jordan has a way of pulling you into a storyline and just making it magical. I loved watching Skye and Hawk heal each other and find the other half of their soul. From heartbreaking moments to those that just lifted your spirits Secrets of Seduction was a delightful read and a wonderful romance I think most historical fans will thoroughly enjoy.

Okay. So you know the Bridgerton novels and how Eloise's story was boring compared to the rest with her being stuck in a house with her love interest and it's slow and he's older and brooding and it's just not the story you want for her? Yeah, that's this book. Skye is the youngest cousin and I expected a fun romp for her. Nope. She's stuck in a castle with an older, brooding man for most of the story and a lot isn't even about them. It's a slow pace even with the spicy scenes and it just wasn't the story I wanted for her. The writing was still good, the characters were decent, the plot and subplots were alternately annoying and interesting. I just liked this book instead of loved it. Hopefully the last two books will get back to the lightness of the first two books. 3.5 stars rounded down.

REVIEW: SECRETS OF SEDUCTION is the third instalment in Nicole Jordan’s Legendary Lovers historical romance series focusing on the five Wilde orphaned cousins-Ashton, Jack, Skye, Kate and Quinn. The cousins have been raised by their bachelor ‘Uncle Cornelius’ and Skye is determined to find the missing piece in Cornelius’s life-a love that he lost so many years ago.

Each storyline is loosely based on a popular fairy tale or Shakespearean play. This is twenty three year old Lady Skye Wilde and the Earl of Hawkhurst ‘Hawk’s’ storyline-a Beauty and the Beast tale of lost love, forgiveness and letting go.

The focus of the storyline is on matchmaker and youngest Wilde-Lady Skye Wilde. Along with her cousin Kate, Skye has the uncanny ability to find love matches for each of her family members only this time she is determined to find the perfect match-for herself. Having set eyes on the Earl of Hawkhurst ten years earlier, Skye has dreamt of the day she could call him her own. But Hawk is several years older, a widower who lost his wife and child to a devastating fire, and a man who cannot forgive himself for their death. It is the fire that has left Hawk scarred-both inside and out-leaving a ‘beast of a man’ both in the physical and emotional sense. Skye will enter Hawk’s life under the ruse of asking for his assistance in finding a long, lost ‘friend’.

The premise follows Skye as she sets into motion her plans to seduce the man she has admired for over ten years. His life revolves around a ‘secret society’ of friends and Skye hopes to use these friends to assist in looking for her bachelor Uncle Cornelius’s long lost love. And along the way Skye is determined to show Hawk what it is he has been missing.

The relationship between Skye and Hawk is one of immediate attraction but a reluctant attraction for the widower Hawk. Skye’s bubbly personality is too effervescent for Hawk and her playful attitude leaves something to be desired-especially for a man who prefers to grieve in solitude with only a bottle of brandy for company. It is only with Skye’s determination that Hawk will begin to live again but at a cost that will break Skye’s heart when Hawk looks to someone else for the future.

Nicole Jordan writes a wondrous storyline of romance and love; a second chance for a man whose guilt eats away at his heart and his soul; and a breathtaking story of reuniting two lovers who have been separated by distance and time. Most of the secondary characters are new introductions to the series that add an air of mystery, suspense and danger. The world building continues from the previous storylines with the inclusion of some of the previous storyline characters and the Wilde cousins.

Told from third person point of view SECRETS OF SEDUCTION has a little bit of everything: humor, love, romance, betrayal, intrigue, suspense and heartbreak. Skye is a woman who puts her heart on the line and tells it like it is-she would fit perfectly into the twenty first century with her take charge attitude. She knows she may be fighting a losing battle but in the end it is the heart that knows where it truly belongs.

Secrets of Seduction by Nicole Jordan is a 2014 Ballantine publication. I was provided a copy of this book through the Library Thing early review program.
Skye fell in love with Hawk ten years ago when she was still quite young. At the time Hawk was married and very happy. Now Hawk lives in isolation in a run down estate as he mourns the loss of his wife and son . Because of his status he believes it is his duty to marry and produce an heir.
Skye has her heart set on winning Hawk for herself and even commissions the help of her Aunt Bella in the art of seduction. Skye arrives unannounced at Hawk's estate alone and proceeds to worm her way into his life.
Seducing Hawk is not her only goal however. She is also hoping Hawk will use his skills as a guardian to locate her uncle's long lost true love- Rachel , who went into hiding to get away from a terrible marriage and is presumed dead. Skye believes Rachel is alive and wants to reunite her with her true love. But convincing Hawk to do anything besides walk around in a dark state of depression proves to be more of a challenge than Skye had originally anticipated. Is Hawk a hopeless case or wlll Skye manage to break down his defenses?
I really like Nicole Jordon's novels and have read several in the past. I thought the story about Skye's uncle was very sweet and I loved how all that worked out. Skye is a character and I enjoyed her determination and her never give up attitude. Hawk was little harder to warm up to. Other than a sexual attraction, he didn't seem to really feel all that much for Skye emotionally until the last quarter of the book.
Now, this is where I am probably going to make someone angry. I don't think Skye would have shown up unescorted and most girls in this era knew NOTHING about sex. They were actually sheltered from sex and were often shocked on their wedding night. So, once more the authenticity of the period is thrown out the window. I think Skye would have had better luck holding back from her sexual liasons until Hawk was in a more stable frame of mind. She took a huge risk by continuing to pursue him in the bedroom because once all was said and done Hawk could have decided to marry the other lady he had in mind after he used Skye for mere "comfort".
Now having said that, I took into consideration the author was trying to create a character that acted outside the norm and anyone could have succumbed to a night of passion under the circumstances. But, once that happened Skye continued to aggressively pursue Hawk and had no qualms about using sex to get his attention. But, the physical act was just a matter of staving off his grief and he didn't feel anything past that for quite some time. But, he did sort of wake up one day and realize Skye had planted herself in his life and in his heart. Once he allowed himself to feel love and happiness again he was totally committed to Skye. The ending of the book was really wonderful and while I have maybe given the impression I didn't like the book, I really did enjoy the story, I just wish historical romance authors would stop rewriting history. Younger readers are given the wrong idea about this time period and just because love making occurs after the marriage doesn't make it any less passionate. The romance was muted due to sex taking place too soon in the book and the anticipation I love in romance novels just disappeared. So, how to rate this one... I think 3.5 stars rounded to four.

A witty, sensual tale that is reminiscent of The Beauty and The Beast. Absolutely delightful! Taken from my review at RomanceJunkies.com:

Hawk, a member of the Guardians of the Sword, had been unable to save his wife and son from the fire that killed them. He had arrived while it was underway, but was too late, although he sustained some serious burns from his efforts. Afterwards, deep in grief, he had joined the Guardians, accepting their most dangerous missions to atone for his guilt at not saving his family and no longer caring whether he lived or died. But now, years later, the Guardian of the Sword needs a new leader and his mentor has Hawk in mind for the position. Needing a blood connection to the leadership, Hawk plans to court and wed his mentor’s niece, even though she is not his type. But that doesn’t matter, as he has no plans to ever fall in love again. The loss of loved ones is just too great. He has returned to his estate, and the memories therein, in order to prepare his home for his new bride. In England, he begins carrying out the renovations to his home, even as he drinks way into the night to elude the ghosts of his past. But then an unexpected guest arrives on his doorstep.

Ten years ago, at the age of thirteen, Skye Wilde fell for Hawk and was dismayed to discover that he was already wed. Not long afterwards, he tragically lost his wife and son. Afterwards, he left the country, but he has recently returned home with the intention of courting and marrying his mentor’s niece. But Skye is determined to win him for herself, knowing that the marriage he intends to go through with will only ruin his life. As for loss, Skye knows all about it, having lost both of her parents at sea and she still suffers nightmare from the tragedy.

It takes some convincing to get Hawk to agree to let her stay the night. But after a night of excessive drinking to avoid his own troubles, he hears her in the throes of a nightmare. Coming to her rescue, his offer of comfort quickly turns intimate and with the possibility of pregnancy, he tries to do the honorable thing, but she does not want marriage under these circumstances. Staying in his home, she undertakes helping with the renovation while he decides to take on the task of finding her uncle’s lost love. Will she be able to win his love before he begins his planned courtship, or is she setting herself up for heartache?

An absolutely delicious tale, SECRETS OF SEDUCTION, the third book in New York Times bestselling author Nicole Jordan’s LEGENDARY LOVERS series, is a clever, adult take on the well-known BEAUTY AND THE BEAST story. Getting Hawk to change his mind about love seems like an impossible task when Skye arrives at his doorstep, but she is determined, even as he fights her every step of the way. Still, the chemistry between them is combustible and I could not help rooting for them all through the book. The search for her uncle’s lost love, whom he believes to be dead, is especially heartwarming and will bring tears to your eyes. I also enjoyed Skye’s aunt, who offers her niece the SECRETS OF SEDUCTION, which Skye employs in trying to win Hawk.

For fans of Ms. Jordan’s PLEASURE series, this book is also the fifth and final book, featuring Hawk’s long awaited story. Packed with tragic events, grief, healing, seduction, family dynamics, secrets and love, this story is unforgettable and a definite keeper. Do not miss it!

What would you do if your cousin decided that all of your family would find love by emulating legendary lovers? Probably laugh.. but what happens if two of your cousins have met their loves and both of their relationships emulate a famous couple? It might just catch your attention.

In book three of Nicole Jordan's Legendary Lovers Series we meet with Beauty and the Beast.

The most charming Wilde cousin, Lady Skye has been in love with one man her entire life. Ok, it was a girlish crush for many years. But one glance captured his attention.. once she discovered he was married, Skye put her dreams away. But it's ten years later and her love is free. He has been widowed for many years is back in England, FINALLY, and is getting ready to marry. Only Skye, refuses to allow him to settle for an arranged marriage. She knows she can lure the beast from the castle. She is sure she can give him back a promise of life.

Hawk, the Earl of Hawkhurst.. Once upon a time he was a happily married man. Then a fire came killing his wife and infant son, destroying his golden life. Hawk, escaped England serving his country as a member of the elite Guardians of the Sword. The Order is changing and Hawk plans to be instrumental in the change. And the best way to do so is to marry into it's hierarchy. After all he has had his great love... now he just plans to do his duty. But first he must face his demons and make his castle bearable.

"Man Makes plans and God Laughs" Hawk may have decided to settle for an arranged marriage to a timid miss.. but no way can he turn away from the fabulous lady Skye. She too has known tragedy but she refuses to succumb to it. She has plans of her own. A way to capture Hawk's attention.. find her Uncle's lost love..

I won't say this was a wacky romance.. Rather an interesting turn of events. Hawk can not help but fall for Skye she is everything a woman should be, witty, charming, fun, intelligent and oh so beautiful. But how can he choose Skye now that his word has been given? How can he turn his back on his duty? His loyalty is to his country not to happily ever after?

Seeing what his life could be.. Both the good and the one with regrets, Hawk has to choose.. but what path is the right one? A difficult decision when one is taught to honor duty not follow your heart.

I am really enjoying this series.. Ms Jordan has taken these legendary lovers and brought them once again to life. Not by trying to force her characters into a mold already written but by embracing the whimsy that fairytales offer.

Make sure you check this book out.. A wonderful read

In a continuation of Jordan’s Legendary Lovers series the most charming Wilde cousin, Lady Skye takes center stage as she attempts to charm the handsome, reclusive, and enigmatic Earl of Hawkhurst before, in her opinion, he makes a most disastrous mistake of marrying for all the wrong reasons. After all, Skye had secretly fallen for the earl long before the tragedy that left him scarred both physically and emotionally. If nothing else she has to save him from himself!

Ten years previously, in burying his guilt over being too late to save his wife and son from a disastrous fire, Hawk joined the secretive Guardians of the Sword. He swore then to never fall in love again and risk the monumental pain of losing all that he loved. Thinking to marry his mentor’s niece to further serve the Guardians, he ready to take the plunge. However, Lady Skye is not giving up or letting Hawk bury himself in a marriage of convenience, when she knows she can bring light and love back into his closed off heart.

*** One of the things I truly liked about SECRETS OF SEDUCTION was, naturally, Lady Skye. She knew what she wanted and was going for broke! Skye was one extremely capable and strong heroine, basically bearding the “beast” in his den! However, one could take Skye’s actions in another way as well, as being quite manipulative in that even though she hadn’t intended to seduce the earl, the repercussions of possibly “trapping” him in a marriage would have been disastrous, especially if he hadn’t already fallen in love with her. So thank goodness this was fiction and the author could twist things to fall into place very nicely.

Hawk was fashioned beautifully as a very tough adversary for Skye and if not for her manipulations and the weather helping her out, I could have seen Hawk forgetting he was a gentleman and tossing her back out into the night. When Skye appeared at his door wet and bedraggled, he was beholden to at least allow her in and hear her out. Skye had come up with good reason to be there (not in the middle of the night but….) with a tantalizing mystery for him to sink his teeth into that supported her showing up un-chaperoned at a bachelor’s home in the middle of the night.

Weave together, the mystery of discovering where Skye’s uncle’s lost love had disappeared to along with her campaign to win the heart of the “beast” and you have another sensual and highly entertaining tome from the talented wordsmith Nicole Jordan.

Bottom Line: A most satisfying read and highly entertaining!

She’s going to get her man and she’s going to get him good–or bad. Doesn’t matter as long as he’s hers.

This is my first book by Nicole Jordan, but it won’t be my last. The characters were engaging and interesting. Many had flaws and were easy to relate to. The writing is mostly crisp, although there were some moments of telling and not showing me the story. At times I felt like I was right there with the characters and other times not.

I’ve said the characters were interesting. They were. Lady Skye is unique. She knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to get it. I liked that. Some of her methods were a tad…pushy. Actually, she was really pushy. I liked her, but there were moments I thought she over-stepped her boundaries. When she wanted something she got a tad abrasive. Now, that’s not to say she’s a bad character. She just knows how to get what she wants.

Then there’s Hawk. The guy is battered material. He’s been through the wringer. His wife and two-year-old boy were killed in a fire and he couldn’t save them. Talk about a downer! So he’s got a lot of pent up depression. I kind of liked his brooding quality–he had a good reason to be upset. What irked me about him was as much as he’s supposed to be this strong, commanding guy, he pretty much let Skye walk all over him in order to get what she wanted. He could get terse with her, but at the same time, he didn’t mean much of it.

Now, that sounds like I wasn’t thrilled with this book. I did like it. And the side story with Rachel, Daphne and Cornelius was great. I would enjoy reading more about them. I also did enjoy the way this story progressed. I hated having to walk away from the book and even though the characters irritated me, they got under my skin and I was thoroughly engaged. I thought about them long after I closed the book. That’s a sign I was hooked.

If you want a book with a little pluck, a little spice, and a handsome Lord, then this might be the book for you.

When Skye learns that the celebrated hero has returned to England from his self-imposed exile to make a cold marriage of convenience, she brazenly plants herself on his castle doorstep, determined to convince Hawk that she alone is his true mate and destiny.

An elite member of the Guardians of the Sword, Hawk has vowed never again to risk the pain of loving—but that’s before he deals with the most enchanting, annoyingly persistent seductress he’s ever encountered. One night of blazing passion leaves him impossibly torn. Will Hawk choose duty over love, or will he open his heart and let Skye’s healing light penetrate his darkness?

MY REVIEW:

Oh this was a charming read! I adored the characters and the overall plot to the story. See, there was so much going on but NJ was able to keep the reader on track for what was truly important.

You’ve got the heroine who was in love with the hero for a very long time, yet he didn’t know it. She had her sights set on wooing him and yet, the hero has no idea what’s about to hit him. Why? Well, the poor guy lost his wife years ago in a fire that took his family from him the blink of an eye.

I. Love. It.

She comes in and takes over. He tries to fight it, but obviously loses that fight, and doesn’t realize he’s about to lose the best thing that had happened to him. Oh, did I mention he’s promised to another? HA! It’s great.

The writer has a true talent and it shows through these great characters. NJ is yet another author that I’m adding to my stalking list. Pick this up as soon as you can. I know release date isn’t till April but you won’t regret it!

Wow! What a roller coaster, I loved this book. It's a page turner from start to finish.
Lady Skye has been in love with the Earl of Hawkhurst since she her early teen's.
At the time he was happily married but tragedy happened when both his wife and son perished in a house fire. He left England to work and forget, but now he has returned and Skye is determined to win his love. She has a task for him to solve for her which is an ideal excuse for her to stay with him so they can work together.

Hawk. the Earl of Hawkhurst is a member of the Guardian of the Sword, after losing his beloved family he left England to fight on the continent for the elite spy group.
His mentor, the leader of the Guardian's want's Hawk to take over from him as leader. But to do that Hawk will have to marry his mentors's niece, a marriage of convenience. But that will be fine with him because he'll never love again. Until his life is turned upside down by a interfering, but beautiful young woman who turns up at his home one rainy evening.

I loved Skye, she was feisty, fun, very caring, stubborn and very sexy. Hawk was very honourable but deeply hurt over his lost, he tried to do the right thing with Skye but she wasn't helping much. You could feel the loss he had endured, and want him to recover and live again his character was that heart felt.

This novel was a wonderful read, at times steamy and passionate as Hawk and Skye find their closeness hard to ignore and at others very emotional in deed.
If you love romance at it's best look no further.

This is the third book in the Legendary Lovers series by Nicole Jordan. The inspiration for this book was a "Beauty & the Beast" theme. However, the "Beast" is this story is a very handsome Lord Hawkhurst. Lord Hawkhurst has become a bit of a recluse since he lost his true love and son in a tragic fire. He is determined never to love again. Lady Skye Wilde decided that Lord Hawkhurst was going to be her one true love since she has been enamored of him since she was a teenager and noticed him at a ball. Skye, who is very independent and wealthy is not typical of women in 1816 in England. Her family story becomes more apparent as to how and why Skye is in her situation throughout the book. Skye looks to her older cousin, Lady Isabella, to give her advice on romance and how to make Lord Hawk notice her. With Lady Isabella's advice, Skye sets out on a course to win Lord Hawkhurst's heart.

I really enjoyed this story. It had a few really unique twists that I was not expecting, setting it apart from a formulaic romance novel. I liked both Skye and Hawk and felt they were just perfect for each other. The dialogue was funny in some parts. I think the task that Skye set out to accomplish for her Uncle was very sweet and romantic. That was a great secondary story. Even though I did not read the other two Wilde family books, I felt they were a intelligent, charming and independent-minded family. I enjoyed getting to know them in the story. The ending was perfect for Skye and Hawk and I love the foreshadowing for Quinn's story. Overall, it was very sexy and romantic *sigh*. Loved it!
