Not as good as I'd hoped

I really enjoy Vera Foxx's stories, but really struggled with this one. I was deeply invested in all the characters, but the pacing felt very off. There was a lot of front loading of the story and then it felt like a there was not a whole lot going on for the second half. I was more invested In finding out what was going to happen to Locke then hearing the end of Bears story. The story was still good. And I was glad that I read it in the context of the series, but it was just a bit slow. I'm super invested in all of these characters in the world that Vera Foxx has built. I can't wait to see what happens in Locke's book

I'm fully transparent when I write DNF reviews. This was a DNF at 51% and I know there are people who don't like star reviews with DNF but I spent 51% of my time in a book and I want to articulate why the stars and the DNF.

The good good:
👍🏾 the author knows how to write an explicit scene. The smex is popping and hot

👍🏾Bear is a hairy, thick man. Love it! Love the body diversity. He's that thick, muscular look of football players from yore. Love it, think the Kelcie dude who is not dating Taylor Swift. Yes, please. Man built like a tank with an anaconda between his legs.

Whew, everything else:

I love shifter books. I love MC books. I love dark romance. This book series tries to hit all those notes. I wanted to like it. I kept pushing on, but

😬 this book doesn't really represent MC culture well. It was my complaint with Book 1, but I let it slide there. Here, the mate of the MC member now carries the same weight and status as their dude. Huh! That's not...no what. So yes, now the MC member and his mate both have a seat at the table and have a say. Fundamentally subversive to MC romance tropes. Could be fun, but isn't when you logically consider what this means for MC inner politics

😬The FMC in Book 1 became a moon priestess and all her interesting traits evaporated. She's almost treated like a Luna would in mate/shifter books. Boring! Also, she's not mated to the Alpha. She's mated to the 2nd, but he's not the 2nd because he's the Enforcer. Soooo... again, MC culture is screwy here. Her appearance in this book just contributes to this odd breakdown

😬Ooo, do you like the 🐁 human FMC with glasses? Cool....in this series, when the shifter completes the mate bond with a bite (standard operating procedure), it turns the human into their shifter counterpart....ugh. boring! Now she doesn't need glasses, or maybe she would have super sonic hearing, etc. It's just disappointing from a story perspective. If I'm readimg human x shifter books I want them to stay in that dynamic

😬the time frame in these books is wonky. Was the FMC left alone for a few weeks or 2 years? Which is it? Bear doesn't want to jump her bones right away because his friend is in their house, but then a friend falls asleep while they are watching a movie, so GAME ON! They are sexing and getting it on right in that space with another shifter/friend is sleeping (don't worry, he won't wake up).

😬 humongous dong + small virgin = of course she can handle him on first thurst and of course she can give bomb BJs 🙄. It's all magic 😒

When Bear was first introduced in the first book, I loved him. Protective, sweet, fierce, etc. Those are just a few words to describe the bear shifter. Nadia had helped Mrs. Delilah to escape from her brother-husband, Master Cunningham. She was caught and he wanted to make an example of her and he has kept her in a small room since. The Iron Fang MC has been promised 2nd chance mates by the Goddess Selene. Shane Cunningham had been captured and now Switch, the techie of the group was going thru the video cameras of Shane’s mansion. I love how they all (the men of the MC) have their tasks and some of it can be a bit horrifying, however, war is just that. They want to stop human trafficking, etc.

In the videos, they see a woman who is desperately in need of rescue. As soon as Bear sees her, he is entranced and wants to be part of the squad that does the job. The music group that usually plays at the MC’s club- the Moonlight Outcasts, usually are the ones that do the extractions. Some of them are vampires. Wooo. Delilah is very upset when she sees what happened to Nadia, even tho she didn’t know the other woman’s name. It is heart-wrenching to see what Nadia goes through and what she saw Delilah go thru. I cried. The book made me laugh and I worried the whole time as I knew that Bear was drawn to Nadia. I was right to love Bear. He was so perfect in this book. I think I only wanted to smack him twice. Compared to the other books, that is nothing, lol. I can’t wait to find out who is next for their second chance mate from the club, I hope it’s the Alpha as he is in bad shape.

Nadia 🧚‍♂️& Bear 🐻

Bear almost lost hope at finding his mate and last chance.

Against the doctors order, he went on a quest and found his mate in a small, quiet and broken girl.

He was her Teddy Bear and she his pot of honey 🍯! Goddess that man was nasty and she matched his energy.

While everyone is getting mated I can't wait to see who is next. Our fav Water Dragon🐉 needs a mate but we have to save Locke!!!

Can't wait to see what is next for these lost souls in 2024 (winkwink)! Don't keep us waiting Vera!

My Thought: I love this book series so much! The author has done a fantastic job once again with this book. The writing, plot, characters, and everything about this book and the series are perfect. The hero and heroine were a perfect match for each other. I especially loved the heroine's character - she was so adorable and cute. However, before reading the book, please make sure to check the trigger warning. I genuinely can't wait for the next book in this series. It's going to be so good!

Es pequeña y está recluida en régimen de aislamiento en una mansión al otro lado del país.

Bear la salvará y la traerá de regreso.

¿Pero aceptará sus afectos dominantes?



Mi humilde opinión:

Este libro fue distinto a los dos primeros porque esta vez la segunda oportunidad es para un shifter oso. Bear. Este gigante gruñón tuvo su aparición antes y después de ver a dos lobos obtener su segunda oportunidad para una pareja lo que más quiere es encontrar una para él. Confía en que la diosa se la pondrá en el camino y así es como en una misión de rescate conoce a Nadia, una amiga que ayudó a escapar a Delailah en el pasado. Ella es dulce y pequeña pero con una gran fortaleza interior. Cuando Bear la encuentra, su oso comienza a despertar porque se da cuenta que ella es de él. La mujer que salvará su alma y a la que él protegerá y amará.

Disfruté la lectura con sus momentos de pasión, drama, humor, magia, acción, peligro y giros inesperados.

Hay un hechizo del Duque Idris, un demonio que está torturando a Nadia y convierte sus sueños en pesadillas. Fue aterrador a lo largo del libro y me gustó cómo se resolvió todo ese tema pero el Iron Fang seguramente tendrá más problemas con ese villano duro de matar.

Bear y Nadia eran una pareja súper linda. Me tuve que reír con el nombre que le puso ella al oso, Teddy y a este le encantó! Lo de las orejas fue muy gracioso. Fue interesante este cambio de lobos a oso, ellos tienen una forma distinta de reclamar a su pareja pero creo que son doblemente posesivos. El doc se merecía el enojo de Bear, me pareció que cruzó los límites muchas veces y se puso pesado pero... Anaki era un buen amigo y solo quería ayudar. Cómo siempre me hizo reír mucho. Amo a este dragón!

Me sorprendió el origen de Nadia y su relación con el clan fae. Su transformación a oso fue una escena muy dramática.

Estoy contenta de que la autora haya puesto escenas de Delilah y su bebé! El Iron Fang está creciendo con una nueva generación. Me dio mucha pena Locke, el alfa está al borde de la rabia. Adónde escapo? Él necesita urgente su segunda oportunidad!

La verdad que cada entrega me engancha cada vez más y me deja con ganas de seguir conociendo nuevas historias del Iron Fang y esperando actualizaciones de las anteriores parejas y por favor la historia de Locke!

Wow wow wow

Vera has done it again... my god.

So this is the 3rd story to Iron fang and it centres on Bear and Nadia. Bear we have met a few times in the first 2 and Nadia in the last book although we didn't know her name. As with all Iron fang this is based around a MC club made up of rougue shifters who have been rejected but granted a gift of 2nd chance mates. They all deal with dark themes but the light and love shine through any darkness at the end.

This one well like all Veras books takes us on a journey but I like that this one the bond kicked in earlier in the book and I now know why that was needed. There were a few chapters I was gripped and panicked but I won't say why as I do try and not give spoilers.

There are other characters coming to the front now as well. We learn more about Anaki and a few others and I am very much looking forward to when Vera writes both Anaki and Lockes stories.

There is plenty of spice in this book as does the others but it plays it's part and it's not on every single page. Who knew a big grizzly could feel as much as he does. I love both Bear and Teddy. The dynamic on this one is a bit different from the first two but I'm glad as this book is about a Bear shifter and not a Wolf so it makes sense to me. Different species, different cultures but another amazing book about man who truly deserves a 2nd chance mate and a woman who always felt she had to hide.

If you have loved the other two you will love this. If you haven't read any of the Iron Fang books there is enough to read this as a standalone as enough information is given about the characters involved.

If you like hot, big possessive men, mentally strong women mixed in with spice then I would highly recommend you read this book.

However, there's a glimmer of hope for redemption, though time is quickly slipping away.

In the midst of a daring rescue operation, Bear finds Nadia, who represents a second chance at companionship for him. Nadia's situation is dire; she has been subjected to relentless abuse, starvation, and torture, barely clinging to life. Bear is overjoyed at discovering his new mate, but her critical condition fills him with fear of losing her before their relationship can even begin.

As the story progresses, Nadia's recovery is gradual, with Bear providing unwavering support throughout her healing process. Nadia, initially perplexed by her sense of security around Bear, whom she perceives as a gruff and intimidating stranger, gradually embraces the comfort he offers.

The book's middle section felt somewhat slow-paced to me, leading to occasional skimming, but the narrative regained momentum towards the end. The dynamic between Bear and Nadia is particularly captivating. Despite her small stature, Nadia possesses an inner strength that perfectly complements and soothes Bear's more formidable nature.

I’m so glad Bear and Nadia found their happily-ever-after! I’m looking forward to the next installment.

Part of The Iron Fang series each can be read as a standalone club of rouges who have accepted their fate but haven’t given up on hope of maybe finding their mate, yet they stick together saving each other. Nadia sacrificed herself she makes you want to reach in giving her a huge hug letting her know she will be okay, she will be saved, she helped Deliah escape only to be captured, tortured, starved, abused, and barely clinging to life when she is found. The Iron Fang MC has been promised 2nd chance mates by the Goddess Selene. Shane Cunningham had been captured, so happy he abused, tortured, starved so many girls and now Switch, the techie of the group, was going thru the video cameras of Shane’s mansion from the moment Bear saw her on the videos he knew she was his. Bear sexy as all get out shifter headed out to rescue his girl Nadia no matter how broken she may be he will do everything in his power to put her back together she is slow to accept him from the beginning but she comes around to accept him, will she heal up with the help of her second chance mate, her friends, will she get the help needed to be semi okay, and do they take out the trash who hurt all the women, and will Bear be okay will they find their happiness ….a little peace along the way?

I found it touching but passionate.
I loved the relationship between the main characters. You could tell at a glance their love and devotion for each other, as well as their respect and commitment to each other. I loved watching the protagonist's evolution, how she gradually developed her personality with Bear's help.
Regarding the plot, first of all, this book should be read as part of a saga, because if you read it independently, you will not be able to understand the true background of it.
Secondly, in my opinion, the plot is a bit slow, and does not really go into any details, especially the lives of the main characters before they meet.
Thirdly, the plot is inconclusive, in a way, although I understand that it gives a kick start to the next book, after all, that's the point of a book saga.
As a conclusion, despite all the above, I loved the book enough that I look forward to the next book, no matter which of all these wonderful characters is the main character.

At the end of book 2, it was no surprise that Bear was going to be our new MMC who was next to be blessed to find his mate.
This book was more emotional than the first 2 and the story line had more dark moments than the others, but it also started putting more puzzle pieces together and introducing more characters and families to the fold.
I have read comments where people felt the MC part of this story line was misleading, but the reality is, a true MC is not what you read about or see on tv. Most MC are family orientated and work together as a club to fight for the voiceless and the helpless. And this MC made of of different super naturals made sense to me. The brotherhood and bond they share is what creates a MC, the foundation they created for the broken and the fallen.
The story live from book 1 is slowing coming together, trying to save others while saving themselves. Fighting a true evil, while also looking for their fated mates.
I love this series and I am so looking forward to Locke, if anyone needs to find his mate, it is him.

Ugh. 😫 The storyline continued and it was a great one. Oh boy was this book spicy 🔥 the plot was perfect. I love how the story continues on and we get more information on side characters. This finished off the same as the others a HFN ending. I can't wait for the next one.

Plot:
Bear is another shifter member of Iron Fang, the club for shifters who need second chances in finding a mate. Nadia has been imprisoned for saving Delilah, who is introduced in a previous book, from her abusing spouse. She lived in a dungeon in complete silence, minimal food, and emotional abuse. Bear rescued her and Iron Fang helped nurse her back to health.

Thoughts: I've been putting off reading this because I skipped Hawke's book. At the end of the first book he gave me the ick. So i went straight to this book, and I think I will go back and read Hawke before Locke's book comes out in two weeks. I think Grim and Bear are tied for my favorite so far. They are so cute with their mates, and very protective. Vera Foxx knows how to write these books. It's a great read.

Bear’s bond with Nadia is beautifully written, with her fragile yet resilient nature complementing his strength in the best way. The world-building in this book is deeper, adding intrigue and rich layers to the story. Anaki was an absolute gem, bringing humor and levity to balance the darker themes, and his friendship with Bear was a highlight to read. Watching Bear be utterly obsessed (in the best way) with protecting, loving, and fighting for Nadia made this such a swoon-worthy read. If you love shifters, especially the biggest and cuddliest of them all, this book is a must-read!

The Iron Fang story continues with Bear and Nadia.

I've been looking forward to this book, the Iron Fang series being one of my favorites of 2023, and once again I'm not disappointed.

As in the previous volumes, we find a shifter who has been rejected by his mate and is given a second chance with a human. But the author does an extraordinary job of giving us a unique story every time.

Vera Foxx has the talent to draw you into the story in such a way that even the "quietest" moments remain interesting and never bore you.
There's emotion, tension and unexpected revelations.
It's steamy, sweet and fun.
I laughed, I cried and I gasped.

And now I'll be eagerly awaiting the next book.

I really like the story line but...

The series itself is interesting. It has a good continuous plot and I really like the characters in the series.
We are introduced to several side characters that I really hope will also get books. :)
Sadly the book really needs another overhaul with an editor and proofreader, because there is a lot of repetitive writing and sometimes sentences make no sense or have whole words missing. There are also several grammar mistakes.
This takes away the flow of the story because when I came across it everything stopped and I had to try and make sense of things.
As I said, with another overhaul from an editor and proofreader I think this book would do so much better, because it really was a good storyline going for it and great characters.
This is also quite a steamy and erotic book! ;) Lots of on page smexyness.

This is Bear and Nadia's story. Bear is a giant grumpy Bear shifter. Like the other members of Iron Fang MC, he's waiting for his second chance mate. Nadia remained a prisoner after helping Delilah escape her ex. Starved and mentally tortured, Nadia was on death's door when Bear rescued her. I love a fated mate story that neither MC resist the bond. Bear was insanely protective of his tiny mate and though she be but little, Nadia is fierce. I was really looking forward to this book. Although answers to Duke Idris' plans are starting to come together, I wish this book had a bit more action. But I feel like the next book is going to make up for it. This is just a perfectly sweet fated mates book, and Vera does it amazingly. I can't wait to see what happens next!

"I'm speechless, not gonna lie it was a little frustrating to deal with such a weak heroine, not in the annoying side but rather a 'are we shure she will recover and the FMC?' So the first part of the story was complocated. You have a very weak Nadia and over protective Bear... line between being protective romantic and obsessed was tested here. It had been a long time since the last time I had such an intense reaction of shifters toward mates. But once you past that, you realize that strength can have different meanings. The plot continues to explore other side that had me hooked up. In terms of passion, well... shifter and fated mates can pretty much explain what to expect. Looking forward for the next story... Pres we are waiting for you!"

I loved BEAR: MC Shifter Romance Book 3 of the Iron Fang. Bear knows if he doesn’t find his mate soon he will be lost. Watching his friends with their mates is hard as well. Seeing the young girl kept in a dungeon does something to him, he knows he needs to be the one to rescue her. Nadia has been caged for years, she doesn’t have much time left. It was worth it to help Delilah to escape. This is a sweet story of Bear finding his mate in Nadia and helping her to heal. There is some drama and suspense, but also a great love story. I would definitely recommend this book and the series. I hope Locke is next.

Bear is a huge Bear shifter that intimidates people, but he is giant teddy bear with a huge heart. Nadia been caged for years for helping Delilah escape but it was worth it to her. Bear will stop at nothing to be the one to rescue her. Can Bear yelp her hesl and have his 2nd chance? Or has Nadia been through to much to accept his help?
Really good series and I like that all the main characters get their back stories told so you know what has happened.

Primal, steamy & spicy bear shifter romance!

A motorcycle club of rogue shifters who were rejected by their fated mates and slowly losing touch with reality!?

But now they possibly have a second chance at fated mates!?

What about a bear shifter who saves a small, beautiful and mysterious woman, nurses her back to health and realizes that she could possibly be something more!? YES PLEASE!

This book is dark, emotional, very primal, steamy and spicy! I enjoyed it so much! I also loved all the hurt/comfort especially when he takes care of her by tending to her every need and helps her body get stronger. Swoon.

Loved this tale! Bears are my favorite and Atticus was no different. He's big and overbearing and just the sweetest brute, ever. I definitely didn't expect the dream path, but it was fantastic. I was hopeful for Locke when the fae came to town, but his second chance hasn't arrived yet. Part of me was rooting for Anaki to be next, but by the end of the tale it was clear that Locke needs help much more right now. Can't wait for the next installment. This series is an adventure!.

Drama, suspense, danger, intrigue, and soulmates, weave a well-written, and complex storyline of The Iron Fang MC as rejected shifters, and Bear and Nadia’s story as soulmates.
"The Iron Fang MC" are shifters who have rejected or have been rejected by their soulmates. unmated shifters who face the possibility of becoming feral, by losing their humanity. However, there's hope in the form of a second chance mate. In this installment, the MC is on a rescue mission where Bear unknowingly saves his soulmate, Nadia.

I liked this one the most out of the series! Bear is a huge grizzly shifter who's almost gone rogue after being shunned by his mate years back. Nadia is the small woman he rescues from a prison where she's being starved and mistreated. They come together and Bear takes her under his wing to nurse her back to health. It's really sweet and spicy and a fresh take for the series since Nadia's a virgin and bear's a cinnamon roll with a big bite.

I'll take off a star since the stories always seem to droop a bit towards the end.

Iron Fang was formed for all the shifters that are rejected by their mates. They now have hope for a second chance mate. Bear finds his when they go on a rescue mission to save Nadia.

One thing I love about Vera Iron Fang MC series is that you received all the back story for the MC and what their mission is so the book picks up from the end of book two. We had already meet Bear. He is super protective of Nadia and does not want her out of his sight.

Together they will need to eliminate the darkness inside Nadia. This was another good book in the Iron Fang series. While Nadia & Bear find happiness the over all story and the evil they are fighting continues. Looking forward to Lockes story but I really want Anaki story. This was well written, good story plot and lots of spicy bits too.

This book was way longer than I expected, but worth reading every bit of. The rogue shifters of Iron Fang are broken thanks to being rejected by their mates. However they now have hope for second chance mates as 4 have found the second half of their souls. Nadia’s part in this story is heartbreaking I’m not going to give away more than that.

Bear and Nadia had me all caught up in this fascinating story. When she helps Deliah escape her ex, she is punished by being placed in a room with the bare minimum. Bear sees her and wants to be a part of the extraction team. Nadia is Bear's fated mate and seeing their relationship blossom is heartfelt as I connected with these two while cheering them on to their happily ever after.
