So this is almost Hunger Games meets Logan's Run. It's brutal, I love the way Rob builds suspense with this one. The story is detailed and the gore factor is off the chain, Joey is left to fight for his life. But ends up befriending another victim Leah, who lets him into some pretty heavy truths. I can't help but envision the Death Machine as the Cleaner from Labyrinth but that's just my messed up mind finding humour in gore. Considering this is a short story, it holds a lot of action and great characters. He puts the extreme, in extreme horror with this one.
I love how Rob keeps coming up with these bizarre horror stories, keeping the reader engaged till the bitter end.
