I have enjoyed both series and was excited that the families would finally meet. Mr. Elijah had a tall order at hand to try and form relationships with his daughters, after all this time. I was happy to see them all get along, but it felt like it needed more. All the anger and hostility that Zola carried, about the way her father abandoned her, needed to be explored. I hoped for some serious, deep dialogue with her letting Elijah have it, because it was warranted. He hurt her and shaped her life with his absence. For Zena she craved the love and attention of a father she never had. She reverted back to a little girl and wanted that acceptance from her dad. I would have loved to see that play out.
Miss Zora is just an angel, ok? The way she is able to read people, make them feel comfortable and guide them to their destiny is such a gift. Can we also give those men a shout out? Solomon, Rafe, and Khalil were solid, how they supported their women in this situation that was undoubtedly uncomfortable. But they were right there pushing the women to do the right thing and bring the family together.
Hopefully we will see these characters again. I really want to know what was up with what Elijah saw in Josiah's eyes! What???? That is how you bring a family together. Good job!
What a great way to bring together the Soulmates and Enigma Series with this ending. The siblings finally meeting without issues was amazing. The way they interacted with each felt as though no time was missed amongst them. Eli and Mena's wedding was beautiful as well as the honeymoon. Zora knew this day would come, and with her calming spirit, she was able to make everyone feel at ease and accepted. Now that a new generation is here and growing, I wouldn't mind an update on these characters.
This was done beautifully. Smoke needed to finally bring his adult kids together. With them came spouses, kids etc. Too many yrs and too many unanswered questions when you have never met a parent. This novella packed in a-lot and was written well. It still had the grit that is Smoke. Lol you cant escape that! The wedding brought it all together. Very nice.
I listened to the audiobook for We Are One. I think this crossover between the women of Z and the enigma series’s was needed. I understood both families apprehension about meeting one another. It was done well and the narrators did well.
💜🌼Finally...They Are One💜🌼 At this point, I feel safe in saying if the book is written by Aja...it's a guarantee I'm gonna read it... We Are One is the perfect ending to The Enigma Series...and, in my opinion...it's just Ms. Aja showing out...This book is so good...I have loved every book in this series, but We Are One is my favorite book of what is now one of my favorite series'...and I'll reread it over and over...and you need to read Aja's SoulMates Series and the books, Smoke, Maestro and Slick, of this series before you begin this book...There are 2 things happening here...💜🌼 One thing is Smoke/Elijah and his son, Eli, and daughter, Sarai, meeting his two estranged daughters, Zola and Zena, for the first time...and it had me all up in my feelings...I may have cried more than once....I feel like I saw Smoke and Eli in a more positive light ...and I can just feel the love between Aja's characters...💜🌼 And the second thing is the upcoming and consequent wedding of Maesto/Eli and Mena...and it can't be The Enigma Series without some good ...I'll call it mob activity ...The whole book was just fun to read...I love an adult, smart, serious book than can make me laugh...and I laughed... I also read it straight through...I just couldn't find a place to stop..💜🌼 I absolutely recommend The SoulMates Series and The Enigma Series by Aja...💜🌼
First let me say, Zola is E V E R Y T H I N G! I absolutely love her insight, she always knows when to share and whom to share the insight with. Secondly, the coming together of the siblings was really special, no expressed a animosities, nothing but open-minded possibilities of what family can be which was refreshing. The open arms that Zena and Zola showed was really a testament of the love Zora taught them. Eli knowing when to step back and allow Slick to shine shows his attention to details knowing that it was both something she needed to feel as well as his comfort in knowing she could deliver. Also, I really enjoyed seeing the softer side to Sarai. Aaliyah and Solomon are both some kinda special and much better than me! I love it but also side eyeing both of them. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 On a serious note, the love and support displayed by all of their partners are to tier! Now as for my man, my man, my man Big Elijah aka Smoke, I also enjoyed seeing him vulnerable for his daughters, I feel like he was remorseful without necessarily saying how big of a mistake he made. No excuses just standing in his mistake.
My, My, My!!! What a story, but most of all, what a family!! I’ve been anticipating this one and Mrs. Graves did not disappoint!! Without going into the whole story, I am going to say that if you haven’t already, please go the beginning of The Soulmates Series to understand who Zora, Zena and Zola are and then continue with The Enigma Series to gain insight into the lives of Elijah, Eli and Sarai! Once you’ve done that, then you will understand how they all began and why they had to come together the way they did!
I must say that I was teary-eyed and had a closed throat when the actual meeting of Elijah and his two older girls transpired!! My heart was so happy and thrilled when they all got together and flourished from there, amidst the doubts and hurt!! Listen, all I can say is that Mrs. Graves did her thing with this story and the entire series - both of them! I hope we hear more of this family in the future! And speaking of the future, what about that precious Josiah!! Oh, yeah! 🤫🤫
This was an excellent read and I highly, highly recommend it!! The only words I have left are…Kudos, Aja!! Kudos!! 💜💜💜
Title: We Are One Author: Aja Publisher: She Loves Words Publishing LLC Series: The Enigma Series Book 4 Reviewed By: Arlena Dean Rating; Five Review: "We Are One" by Aja
My Sentiments:
'We Are One' was an enduring story. To fully understand this series 4, one must read 1-2 & 3. I love the story with all these characters coming through to give the readers how family can come through for one another. Wow, what a group of people .. around that table ... Elijah, Aaliyah, Shine, Raj, Mena, Eli, Sarai, Malachi, Solomon, Zora, Zola, Khalil, Rae, Zena, Zoe, Rashaad, Star, Rashida, and I am sure I have left someone out. Will they be able to come together, especially for this big event? 'We Are One' is a read you must read so pick up this whole series to see for yourself how all of this story will come out for this family.
We Are One by Aja is an amazing read! I have been fully invested in both The Soulmates Series and The Enigma Series. The way that Aja wrote this book was magical! All of the emotions in this book was unmatched. Of course we had some drama and we have love. The meeting between the siblings was just beautiful to see. Mena and Eli's wedding was just so beautiful and loving. I felt like I was there in the whole book. It was so good catching up with the previous characters. I hope in the future we will get an update on this amazing book and series. As always, Aja writes from her heart and soul and it shows beautifully.
Aja, you did that! I loved this final chapter of the Enigma Series. Bringing these families together, allowing them to express their thoughts, fears, longings, and dreams solidified their unity as one big family. Zora is an amazing character created by an amazing writer. She is so many strong, devoted, woke, spiritual women rolled into one that is so relatable. Khalil, did his part so effortlessly while the groom, Eli and Sis, Sarai, did theirs without blinking. Come on, Slick, save the day! Elijah has peace with his feelings about Zora because Aaliyah has those same feelings. What a family! WE ARE ONE is a MUST read, but only if you have read ALL the books in both series: Soulmates and Enigma. Don’t forget to check out the bonus playlist that accompanies this book. Get the full effect! I promise you will not be sorry. You can thank me later!
My!My! My! The Lewis family connecting in love, fear, chaos, and harmony was thrilling to read. Aja weaved this tale for me as I read with Gangsta's Paradise playing in my head. Zora's wisdom and sight along with Elijah's will to help their blended families merge for a wedding was sentimental, emotional, and thuggish all at the same time throughout this book. Worth the read and the five stars.
This author is unapologetically a spiritual woman of love and it shows in her works, especially this one. Zora is the central character that is used as a vessel to bring in two sides of the same coin, a must needed reunion. This reunion was centered on love and the healing it brings. I wanted more, of course. Yet I was pleased with the outcome. Love is truly the answer to all things. Beautiful love story.
Just beautiful I loved how they came together as one, some things had to happen but it all worked out in the end. They never thought they would come together but the Creator knew it was time and he kept them safe the whole time, these two series coming together as one was out of this world... Great book
Bravo, 👏👏👏 loved the way both the Soulmates and this series were wrapped up. All the trouble that Smoke and the kids were dealing with got handled, even the thing involving Mena's brother. The families met and blended. And EVERYONE got a HEA! This was truly a wonderful series.
Finally, all of Elijah’s children (son in laws and his grandchildren) assemble & unite as a family 😮💨‼️”We Are One: A Soulmates + The Enigma Series Story - Book)” brief reprieve to enjoy Mena & Eli’s nuptials before business as usual in Pittsburgh. …Book five should be interesting 🫣🤷🏾♀️.
The unification of Elijah’s children was needed and helped to bring everyone together. Elijah finally realized how much he messed up with Zora in the past but was able to finally get it right for the future of Zena, Zola, Eli and Sarai.
I read both series and loved each book. I enjoyed seeing each character grow and learn from their mistakes. However, I did notice there were a lot of typos and a few inconsistencies in the storytelling with this series but other than that I enjoyed it.
I loved this book. Aja beautifully tied up all of the loose ends in Smoke's life. I love having all of his children united and happily settled. I also like that there's room for more action and drama from his children and extended family.
If there is a thing as gangster sweet it was it can be found in this. Eli and Mena gets married, Slick gets her wish to help Eli handle some business and watched son get married.
This was a beautiful ending to a series although I feel like Sarai's wedding story might show up. Thank you for the series, it was quite enjoyable. Not too much of anything and just enough of everything!
This was the story we were waiting for. Finally the Soul and Enigma families are together. The emotions were raw, genuine and a perfect way to restore the rift.
This was the perfect ending to the Enigma/Soulmate series. Families coming together, forgiveness, new memories, old memories, making new family friends.
