Funny cover.

“Issue #26” starts after Batman has trashed a ballroom full of suits. He is asking for information. He is directed to a warehouse.

This is one of the better Batmobile designs and probably the only one they have never made a Hot Wheel of! The injustice!

Robin asks what they are looking for.

”I have no idea. But the Mafias are going crazy trying to find this thing. ”

They bust into the warehouse and find that it’s an FBI operation. They won’t tell Batman what ‘Kristov’ is either. Only that the C.I.A., Secret Service and N.S.A. Are also after it.

But Batman overhears one of the agents speaking Russian that gives him a clue

”He apparently assumed I didn’t speak Russian.”

The fool!

He gets to the house mentioned and asks the woman where Kristov is. She tells him they must take our baby - Kristov.

Too bad the cover gives it away!

Batman & Robin take the baby. They can’t take to it the batcave because Ra’s Al Ghul might want the baby too and he knows where the batcave is.

LOL! So next we are treated with a three-page montage of Batman going about ‘business-as-usual’ but with a baby in his arms. Great stuff!

The last one is stopping an armed mugging. Batman tells them that if they make him do anything that could endanger the baby they will be very, very sorry.

They decide to give up.

The mugging victim asks Batman if he has any idea how to hold a baby? Even the muggers criticize him.

”Yow. And you obviously don’t know how to change a diaper, either.”

The victim winds up buying him some supplies and Alfred talks him through the procedure! Of course it’s illustrated!

Batman goes back to the FBI agent with the baby. He has some questions.

That was a fun story. And there are some pictures you can never unsee!

This issue was a little too cheesy for me. My kids thought so too. The various mobs in Gotham as well as the Federal Government (think FBI) are all trying to search for Kristov which turns out to be not whom Batman and Robin expected! Here Batman learns to take care of a baby. Since it was somewhat cheesy, I give this a three out of five.

I still love Batman, but the comics are too short for me. I’m going to watch Batman: The Animated Series instead.
