This is issue 35 of DC Comics’ series of Batman set in the world of the 90s animated series. I cannot believe this issue is over twenty four years ago when I and my kids read through this together. We read this issue because after several years of Batman and literally thousands of pages of comics we have read together, the world of Batman animated series remain their favorite and we continually go back to reading the next issue of the Gotham Adventure series.
The story in this issue is called Crime and Punlishment. Here Bruce Wayne, the person behind Batman, is a jury in a trial that involves a criminal whom Batman detained. Bruce Wayne tries to get out of jury by saying he’s Batman which sparked everyone laughing and the court had him still do jury duty. The story involves the jury deliberating on a verdict for the criminal and Bruce has to convince his peers that the suspect is guilty. When the decision was announced at court the criminal takes the opportunity to attack and adventures ensue! It’s a fun issue, one where we see more of Bruce Wayne rather than his other identity, the Batman.
