This long-awaited story did not disappoint! There's plenty of adventure and suspense to keep your attention primed. I can't wait to see what happens next!
I just finished book 5 in the Cate Kensie Mystery Series, The Spy at Dunhaven Castle, by Nellie H Steele, and was totally enthralled by the storyline. The story picks up from the conclusion of Book 4 with the question, Who is Buried in the Garden at Dunhaven Castle? To figure out who the poor deceased person is, Cate and Jack must first find out how long the person has been buried in the garden, the cause of death, check missing person reports at the time, and perhaps Jack and Cate must embark on another stint through time to answer the burning question. Nellie H Steele has managed to once again forge a storyline that not only mystifies but sets a tone of peril and apprehension that captivates the reader. The world-building is outstanding and the character development and interactions are amazing. The plot, along with a substantial amount of thrilling mystery, has wartime action and suspense that entails Cate and Jack journeying by means they never anticipated. I enjoyed reading this adventure in the Cate Kensie Mystery Series and am looking forward to the next installment.
Ok, my mind is blown, or maybe, broken? So many strange things happening in the present, the past, … maybe the future? I don’t know how I’m going to make it until the next book is released!
This was a great audiobook that I borrowed from the NY City library. It was on my cell phone so I listened to most of it on the way home from my daughter’s house. My CD player didn’t work. The story was part fantasy and part murder mystery suspense. It held my interest but left me hanging and wondering at the conclusion. Lady Kate and Jack find an 80 year old skeleton buried on the castle grounds. They time travel to figure out who it was. Kate goes into trances and does strange things because of an enchanted jeweled necklace. It was a well written and narrated book but very puzzling.
When the dogs find bones of a Skelaxin that is about 80 years old Cate and Jack travel bach to 1942 in the middle of WW2 to try to solve the murder and also getting involved in the war effort but back in their present tim3 Cate is obsessed with a Sappho necklace and a music box and she is wondering around the castle in arrange and Jack is worried. This story will keep you on edge..
I listened to an audiobook but not Audible. This 5th book in the Cate Kensie series was quite exciting. I loved the 1940s travel. The necklace and music box thread is getting SO tedious and it seems it will continue. I very much dislike when elements of a series go on and on and on through book after book. To me it seems like a ploy by the author (of any such series) to keep a reader coming back—instead of writing books that are excellent in their own right. In this series, it is completely unnecessary and for me totally distracts from Cate and Jack’s adventures.
WOW!!! What a nail-biting adventure!!! If you haven't checked out this series (Cate Kensie Mysteries) you are missing out on an awesome page-turner mystey series. You will be glued to the page until the end!!!
A Spy at Sings gen Castle:A Cozy Time travel mystery book 5
Cate having France's and fainting spells. Also traveling back to 1942 during the war after finding buried bones in the garden believed to be from that time period. Very exciting read with a surprise ending
I listened to the audiobook from the library. Cate and Jack go back in time to WWII when a skeleton is found on castle grounds. This time they change history. Recommended.
I like how Cate is methodical in doing research and finding clues to figure out when in time she needs to go to solve the murder mystery. This one takes us to WW2. It is fascinating as it involves spies and at the end notes a very famous person who was crucial to the eventual allied win.
