If this is supposed to be the conclusion it's left far too many unanswered questions. I feel, because of the ending, that there might be a book 3, but since it's taken over 10 years to get a sequel I'm not going to hold my breath.
I was fed up with the OW jealous drama - it was there right up until the end, even when they confirmed they were officially back together. Get some self respect and move on, jesus.
Unanswered questions I want to know: What is Caleb? Who is the druid working with the enemy?
See you all in another 10 years and we might finally get everything wrapped up.
I've waited a VERY long time to read this book. I would literally scour the entire internet looking for any update on the progress of this book. So it was a MASSIVE surprise when I checked Goodreads and realized that this book was magically finished and published after YEARS and YEARS of waiting.
So after years of waiting for this long-awaited sequel — I give it two stars. This sequel definitely did not capture the magic of the first book and was really NOT what I expected. To be honest, the writing was a mess and just culminated in a giant waste of my time.
Let's start off with Dom and Jillian. They annoyed me the entire book, and I did not root for them. They were TOXIC to each other throughout the whole book and they never really got their shit together until near the end. Even when they reconciled and got back together, Dom still couldn't trust Jillian NOT to leave him. Dom was definitely "all in" while I never quite believed Jillian was — she seemed very hot and cold even when they got back together. He said only time will assure him and I didn't blame him one bit.
(Side note: I didn't care for the Grove visions. It was so unlike her character to trust and give blood to this unknown entity. Her viewing of these memories also didn't really contribute anything to the story or plotline. She already knew how much Dom loved and worshipped her and how much it hurt when she left. And even when she told him about the Grove and these memories, Dom just mentioned some druid history and made plans to move them. What was the point? The history lesson wasn't even that interesting. We could have done without it and the story would have progressed just fine.)
R.K. was so focused on this crappy couple that she didn't really give other characters the time of day. And that is really what we wanted to see, especially when it came to favorites such as Christian, Caleb, Cam, Sloan, and Lynn. We didn't really get to learn more about these characters or about their relationships with the lead characters. I would have especially loved to see more of Lynn, apart from those small interactions, we didn't learn anything more about Lynn and didn't get to see her relationship with her sister. And the ending, Lynn ending up with Drake, was weird, confusing, and not at all plausible. This man kidnaps her and all of a sudden she is with him romantically. Just weird.
Christian and Caleb were awesome, I wish they had more page time and explored a little about their background. I also really enjoyed Sven but it was weird how it took this long for him to go looking for his sisters and why didn't he try to protect them or hide them away?
The only good part of the story was Conan. I enjoyed every scene with him, but the relationship with that half-human/dragon girl is weird and it doesn't make sense how he knew so many things. Like I understand you're a telepath but how did he know about the girl and her future role in their family?
This book really didn't need to be written, and I wouldn't read it because it seriously ruins the story for you.

I enjoyed this romance novel. The theming was perfect and I love the dragon element. I enjoyed the characters… Jillian and her unwavering strength. Dom and his power and love for Jillian. Christian and Caleb for their humor… So much going on and unanswered.
I am so happy the author has continued this series. I love reading about the druid culture, and the love between the H and h. I hope there are more to come!
