As a child they called him spoiled. In his teens, it was hellion. Vaughn didn’t care how you went about it, the term was one he wore proudly. Causing trouble and meddling was his favorite pastime. There was something so gratifying about getting under people’s skin. It was the best high he’d ever found, and he chased it every chance he got.
When Vaughn found a way to turn it into a business, he realized that the thing people claimed to be so bad about him was something that others craved. They wanted to tame him and make me behave. Yeah, right. Like that would ever happen. Lyric understood the basics of human connection. He remembered as much from before. But using those tactics now wasn’t something he could do without slipping up. He needed order and obedience to keep himself in order. Finding a man who fought against those principles should have sent him spiraling. Instead, it was a challenge that he couldn’t turn away from. Before he knows it, years have passed and his urges are under control. Through a turn of events, Lyric finds out the one person he thought he’d never meet is finally within reach. But as Vaughn pretends to not know him time and time again, Lyric wonders if the man behind the screen and the man in front of him are actually two different people.
This story features a bratty man leading a double life, the woodworking artist who longs to tame him, and the game of chase they play as the last Barnes brother finally falls.
XOXO, Vaughn is part of the Princess Pen Pals series. It is recommended that you read them in order since most of the books have intertwined storylines.
4,5 stars XOXO, Vaughn is the 8th book in the Princess Pen Pals serie by A.W. Scott. This one is about Vaughn and Lyric. I loved their story. It was sweet, sexy, full of feels and very well written.
This was not my favorite of the series. I had a hard time reconciling this Vaughn with how he was portrayed in previous books. The editing issues seemed worse in this one too, with several instances of misused words. All that aside, it is always fun to catch up with Princess Aster and the gang, and I did enjoy the story and the HEA as well!
I loved Vaughn and wished he had been willing to open up to his brothers but Lyric coming into both sides of his life forces him to make a decision. I was so glad to see him find happiness and for Lyric to find someone in his lonely life.
Thank you for the ARC read, I voluntarily give this book an honest review. "Ugh" now I gotta make me some 7up cake.. Because that was on my mind for most of the pages, so much love for that. This is another great read, with what starts that is if one can break away from the client/professional role. One birthday party is where destiny takes hold of these two mens life. Opening up with what leads to Vaughn interesting job choices that he hide from his family. Keeping everthing compartmentalize until Lyric aka Woodcatcher3000 is the exception to the rules, and dang is he glad he does he make him an excellent exception. Three years ago he bookmarked a link in his lowest moment, who would think a drunk Lyric was looking out for out for the sobers Lryics future. Oh stop the flames! lyric turns the table on Vaughn's lol show oh seduction, that's so should have been the flashing sign for him.
So sad it's the last in the series. Vaughn who spends all his time alone working finally meets his match. No one knows what Vaughn does, but at his birthday he comes face to face with Lyric. (Lyric became a bit of a recluse after his mum died. ) No saying a work in case Lyric recognises him, he avoided all contact. But Lyric would know Vaughn anywhere. The attraction was there from the beginning of their relationship!!. Beautifully written, just waiting for Lyric to try to break down Vaughn's walls. I received an advanced copy of this book for a honest review. I was there was more to come x
What a wonderful way to end the series! I’ve waited for Vaughn’s story and this didn’t disappoint one bit. Vaughn is so used to hiding who he truly is. It was fantastic that Lyric truly sees Vaughn. Sees the man for who he is and accepts him. As for Lyric man he’s a charmer and has so much patience! I’m sad to see this series end but I have no doubt these guys will appear for cameos in future series.
Ohh Vaughn!! It was fantastic reading him fall! Loved, loved, loved Vaughn and Lyric together! This was a great ending to the series. I lived that Lyric could see who Vaughn truly is AND accepts him for who he is. Lyric had so much patience. I’m sad to read the end of the series but it was sooo good! Overall, fantastic! The story was really well written, the pacing flowed smoothly, highly recommend. The story kept me engaged and I literally could not put it down.
The coming together of Vaughn and Lyric was wonderful. Lyric seems like he's the perfect guy to bring Vaughn out of his shell and help bring his confidence to the surface. I was excited about this book because of all the parties and the princesses getting together. But sadness because the Pen Pal program is over. I know that we'll see the Princesses and their men in other series by this author and I can't wait for that!!
I enjoyed Vaughn and Lyric’s story. While the book had a different tone than others in the series, it makes sense since Vaughn was always a bit different and kept himself separate from the rest of the group. I’m glad he finally got his HEA and it’s a fitting end to the series that we finally learn what Vaughn does for a living
Omg I can't believe this series is over. I was so excited to hear that Vaughn would be getting his own story....and to know that it was with the big mysterious Lyric....oh and there might be some sexy camera work at play? Sold! Seriously one of my favorite stories of the bunch. The cameos were also so much fun. 5 stars.
I so wasn’t expecting that. In all the times Vaughn has been in the other stories I had a completely different idea of what his job was. Also, my read on him as a person was completely different. It was great getting to know him and Lyric. Im so glad they have each other. And I adore TB.
I liked to see that Vaughn finally got his ending. Who would have known that the one he has been talking to weekly is someone he gets to meet in real life. This is a light, fun series where we get to see boys find their forever Daddies. But to see what Vaughn does was interesting too. Lyric is perfect for Vaughn.
No matter who you are, what you look like, or what your job is the ONE may find you!
You might find the ONE, who knows. Remember that you both should take it slow, communicate, and enjoy each other's company. Take a chance, if you don't you may regret it later. GO FOR IT! THANK YOU, A.W! ENJOY!
Such a great way to end the series, with Vaughn. Sorry to see the end of this series but I was so happy to see Vaughn and Lyric get their story. It's well written and has wonderful characters. Loved it.
When Real and Virtual Collide!!!! Vaughn has found a unorthodox but profitable career that he enjoys! Will Lyric be the customer/friend who helps him step out of his studio into the warmth Lyric’s and his friends’ love? Enjoy!!!
This was a good book. Definitely had a couple tears during Lyric’s POV before him and Vaughn started working things out. I kind of wished Vaughn had to work a little harder since he put up the space, but it still worked out.
I enjoyed Vaughn and Lyric's story. I liked how they knew each other anonymously. Vaughn was scared about the truth of his job being revealed but Lyric would never say anything. It was really sweet when they finally got together.
