Rate this book
Alyssa McNeil is through with romance. In Belize on a solo vacation designed to make her forget that her ex is marrying someone else on New Year's Eve, she's determined to break free of her comfort zone. Meeting Luke Picket falls perfectly into her plans for indulging fantasy, letting go of inhibition, and having uncomplicated fun under the sun. Falling in love with him is definitely not on the agenda.

Luke Picket is more than happy to go along with her idea of a no strings, first-name only weeklong fling. He embraces his solo lifestyle and can't see that changing any time soon. When they find themselves trekking through the jungle and facing turbulent seas together, the feelings he'd fought so hard to avoid in his life start stirring in his closed-off permanent bachelor heart.

But they'd agreed on anonymity, on a first-name-only-no-strings love affair, and neither wants to ruin the moment with unwanted declarations. Old beliefs are challenged. Doubts questioned. Will they stick to their deal and go their separate ways when the week is over? Or will the new year bring them a new attitude about love?

**The Wanderlust Series consists of stand-alone adventure romance novels. Occasionally, characters from previous novels may make a cameo, but each story truly does stand on its own merits.

"Anonymity" by Amber Lea Easton is a great holiday romance, set in Belize between Christmas and New Year - coincidentally the same time that I read the novel.
Reading the novel about a no-strings attached one week fling between Alyssa and Luke was the perfect escapism, just like a sweet dream. The two make a pact not to talk about their real lives: What happens in Belize, stays in Belize. Or does it?
Sunshine, water, sex and jungle adventures are part of this fun-filled and lovely story. Besides the great main characters there are a few really well chosen others, such as the bar tender Rosie and Savannah, who also has the hots for Luke.
Well written and easy on the proverbial eye this is a very enjoyable and entertaining read that should please a wide audience.

A fun read that made me laugh more than once! Alyssa is a very relatable character and Luke is such a nice guy. Sometimes romantic leading men can be real jerks and it makes you wonder what's so attractive about them other than a great butt. However, these two meet in what feels like a natural way and evolve that way, too. I had a good time reading this book and will keep on my shelf to read when I really want to smile.

And the action is intense, too. This is a very fast-paced story, but it has a lot of heart, too.

I couldn't stop smiling from page one all the way through to the last page! Very fun read, perfect for thinking about "new beginnings" for the new year. The characters are very fun. There's sex, adventure, and romance. Made me want to take a trip to somewhere warm! I really enjoyed it.

I bought this from All Romance Ebooks, but couldn't get the review tab there to work. ??? Anyway, no worries. Great book by a great author who really knows how to bring characters to life and how to take her readers on a wild ride.

(Still smiling!)

What's not to love? Sun, sea, and SEX! If you enjoy contemporary romance, you'll enjoy this wild ride through Belize with Alyssa and Luke. There are also fun secondary characters that enrich the story with humor and realism. Even though this is an absolute fun book that's not pretending to be anything else, there are messages of seizing the day and not judging others based on first impressions. It's good! Another win by one of my favorite authors. I know this just came out but…when's the next release, Ms. Easton?

Take me away to a tropical beach, please! I need a do-over. Ha! Loved the premise of this book about reflecting on what's not working right in life and forcing yourself to try new things. SEXY READ! Very hot. It's more than that, too, and it really touched my heart. I think I'm going to be fantasizing about Luke for a looooooooong time. Read this if you like contemporary romance with some adventure and an intense steam factor. I really liked it!

Thank you Amber Lea Easton for completely capturing the essence of romance. You have, yet again, set the bar high. This was the perfect book. The main characters were strong and well developed and I felt like I was in Belize. The best surprise was the connection to the secondary characters. I fell in love with Rosie and found myself rooting for Savannah. What a great story about new beginnings and living the way we all dream of.

What a perfect romance! I related to the characters, fell in love with Luke (head over heels!), and smiled all the way through. This is fast-paced, quick, fun, and lighthearted. If you're looking to feel good, then read this book! Not only is it HOT, it has deeper elements about reevaluating your life and really choosing to push yourself out of the safe zone so you can live something extraordinary! Loved it. I recommend it. It's quick. It's fun. It's steamy. You won't be disappointed!

I really liked it! Anonymity has adventure, sex, and fun. I could really relate to the main character, Alyssa, and her feeling a bit reckless and in need of a jumpstart on the new year. It's a great story with fun characters in a setting that makes me want to book a trip! Really, really liked everything about it. Very quick read. Sweet. Made me smile and laugh, which is what I like from the books I read.

Loved it. It's SEXY! Adventurous! Dreamy. Author nails it for creating a wonderful romance about new beginnings, pushing yourself out of a rut, and maybe checking yourself before making rash judgements on people. I can't think of anything I didn't like. The setting is great, the characters (both main and secondary) are fun, and the plot is one that keeps the pages turning. Great read!

The idea of reinventing oneself always sounds good, but also sounds hard! Alyssa's ex is getting married so she's off traveling solo trying to break free of her old routine and a life she feels is "stuck." I thought she was extremely relatable and also someone I'd like to know. This is one of those "can't-put-it-down-can't-stop-smiling-wish-this-were-my-life" kinda books! It's lighthearted. I've read some of Eastons romantic suspense that were also really well done and intense, but this is one is different in that it is more of an action/adventure/FUN romance. I like them all and can't get enough of this author, but not in a weird way. Ha. Anonymity is a perfect contemporary romance. No more. No less. It's just as marketed: sexy, fun, adventure full of new beginnings and some sweet surprises.

A perfect book for escaping the freezing cold winter (at least at my house it's freezing). If you're a fan of contemporary romance, then you'll enjoy this story about a woman who's pretty much done with love all together but finds out she may be more open to it than she thinks! She's traveling alone to get over a broken heart when she meets a man as equally determined not to get involved as she is. Luke has got it all going on from the looks to the charm and, as we find out, a really big heart. Anonymity is the perfect book to curl up beneath the blankets with and lose yourself in a tropical paradise.

To me, contemporary romance is all about the connection between the heroine and the hero. Do I feel it? Can I believe it? In Anonymity, the answer is yes to both. I found the connection between Alyssa and Luke to be palpable. It's a steamy book full of action--both sexual action and actual physical danger--that kept me scrolling through the pages at a record pace. Read this book if you're in the mood for a good time! Read this book if you go into it wanting a fun love story without any heaviness to weigh you down. This is one of those books that I'll pull out repeatedly when I need an escape and want to smile.

Anonymity is a quick, fun read that is very entertaining. Romance is my favorite genre and I read a lot of it. This is a great love story! I wish Luke were real, but I'm sure I'm not alone. This story has just what I want when I read a romance-sexy characters, great setting that lets me imagine a far away place, a plot that keeps me engaged, and a little bit more to it than the superficial. The sex is HOT, definitely high on the heat rating, but not erotica (which sometimes takes it too far for me personally). I really liked this book. If you want something fun to read and are a fan of romance, I think you'll really like it, too.

Amber Lea Easton ("Easton") truly shines when it comes to giving her readers exactly what they want when it comes to romance; a novel full of passion and hot hot sex; and characters (both lead and supporting) who you'll fall in love with; all on a sandy beach with crystal-clear blue water as far as the eye can see. The author wields a terrific and engaging story, even thought-provoking at times, that's full of fun and desire that leaves you not only wishing it was you on that beach, but you who's being fucked hard against a palm tree by one very hot and sexy male specimen like Luke.

This is the second novel of Easton's I've read and it will most definitely not be my last. I was actually sad when the story ended; that it wasn't longer than 186 pages as I couldn't get enough. Thoughts of getting on a plane heading towards a tropical beach is all I can think of - that, and a palm tree. ;)

After reading the synopsis and the magnificent reviews of the book, I was really looking forward for this book. However, it felt very short and I just could not connect with the story or the characters. Complete disappointment.

Alyssa is on a spur of the moment holiday to try to forget that her cheating ex-fiancé of eight years is marrying someone else.
Enter Luke, a good looking guy who could help to distract her and prove to herself that she can be fun and spontaneous.

The problems/ things that were plain weird:

(I just want to add that because this is a novella, I didn't expect anything amazing. Hoped, yes. Expected, no.)

⚪Alyssa and Luke strike up a conversation after a bartender lets out to Luke that Alyssa's boyfriend broke up with her, is getting married, etc, basically a lot of private information, this leads to Luke telling her stuff about his ex, and not just the bare minimum but detailed stuff like how she didn't get along with his brothers, blah blah blah.

And almost immediately after this they make a deal to be friends with benefits. Except without out the friends part.

"I don't know you, and you don't know me. No need to share our deepest and darkest secrets. No last names, no following each other's Instagram, no strings or expectations."

Um…. Too little, too late! You already know a lot about each other.

Making that pact was stupid, especially considering how a few chapters later they're revealing all to each other anyway, thus rendering the title pointless.

⚪ A little later, for some inane reason (probably the same reason they made that deal), Luke tells some people (don't really know who, I was skimming) that he and Alyssa are in a relationship.

Oh, wait I remember, it's because this girl - Savannah - kept hitting on him. Just say you're not interested, dude.
Instead (the genius he is) he fakes a relationship, resulting in him and Alyssa faking stories to convince a bunch of people, they barely know, that they're together, just because Luke couldn't convince a girl (who is repeatedly described as model-like, btw) to back off.

⚪Back to this Savannah person, she chases Luke determinedly but the second she finds out about Alyssa, she's backs and starts hanging out with her like they're besties. Which is good. I mean, I'm glad she didn't try and make her jealous or whatever usually happens but she wants to know all about Luke and Alyssa's relationship. Barely a moment ago, she was crazy for him and now?

I bring her up specially because halfway through the story Savannah ends up being bitten by a snake (the boat overturns, they end up on an island or something like that, having to fight for survival. I don't really know. I was majorly skimming at this point) and she's in a lot of pain, and the bites could be poisonous but somehow, a few pages later while being carried by Luke she manages to ask him about his relationship with Alyssa.

To recap, Savannah is :
in a lot of pain
has just been bitten by a snake that could be poisonous
not near a hospital so cannot be treated ASAP
being carried, indicating she is unable to walk

And yet, she still finds the energy to care about Luke and his relationship with a girl she just met.

"She's good for you." Her words slurred."

She's slurring her words!!

"It's just temporary, no earth shattering love affair. Sorry to disappoint you."

Is what Luke says in reply.
But, wait a minute! Wasn't he pretending to be in a fake relationship with Alyssa because of Savannah? Oh, yes he was. Huh, looks like it doesn't matter anymore now that Savannah is delusional and half dead injured.

"Maybe she thought she was fooling him with her pseudo bad girl act, but he could tell she was genuinely kind."

If he could tell, then why think it in the first place?!

⚪There's more ridiculousness but my battery's getting low and I know I don't care enough to ever return to this review, so there you have it.
If you want to know more about the awful writing, you'll have to read this yourself.

One thing about romance novels is that we all know how they end. They are supposed to be an easy read giving the reader a fantasy of a perfect ending with a perfect guy. In order to not making it boring and be a successful book in it's genre the events that happen between the beginning and the "happily ever after" ending should be fun. This book manages to do it. It has a light, uncomplicated adventure in the jungle of Belize that is fun to follow.

It is a short book so the fact that it is all pretty uncomplicated isn't a problem since it isn't stretched through too many pages. The secondary characters are also fun. I also liked that this is not one of the novels where one of the main characters keeps on rejecting the person they will obviously end up with for half of the book. Then bam! and out of nowhere they love each other.

It would be a 4* romance for me but it loses a point because the main idea doesn't really happen. I was interested in how they decided not to know anything about each other and be anonymous. But they do know almost everything about each other. Last name and jobs and the fact of having a cat are really not as important to know about the person as everything else they told each other. Sure, I guess it would be harder to make them convincingly fall in love without knowing anything. But not really having anonymity in a book called anonymity is a bit of a problem.

✨Book Review: Anonymity by Amber Lea Easton✨
This one felt like a tourist romance that slowly bloomed from lust to love. I actually enjoyed the ride—it had everything I want in a quick novella: tropical vibes, a touch of adventure, and just enough emotion to make it sweet. The spice level was about a 2/5—mostly vanilla scenes, but there were some wild public moments (hello, hammock and coconut tree 👀). I liked that it wasn’t just drenched in sex; the little adventure to Lamanai added balance. No big trigger warnings—unless snakes freak you out like they did the characters!

I bought the book a couple of days ago, because Amber Lea Easton is one of my favorite authors. I was sure it was going to be a great read but this book exceeded my expectations. "Anonymity" is a captivating holiday romance.
The author has done a fabulous job in providing a detail description of the surroundings that pulls the reader right into the pages.
I was utterly mesmerized and did not put the book down until I was finished. The beautiful beaches of Belize and the hot sizzling romance between two of the main character, Alyssa and Luke were the perfect cocktail for a hot read.
Alyssa is on a week’s rebellious vacation. Her ex was getting married on New Year’s Eve and she was going try and forget about the whole unhappy situation.
In Belize she meets Luke Picket and she’s thrilled. This will be a great time filled with fun, adventure, sunbathing and sex. First-name-no-strings attached affair. That is all she was looking for. There will be nothing more between them. No emotional attachments and no complications.
They have an agreement to not speak about their private lives, and not to look for anything more than a fun, uncomplicated affair, thinking those words this will keep them safe and uncommitted.
Of course it does not turn out that way, and I don’t want to spoil the book for other readers, but I absolutely loved it. The story is very well written and the author has cleverly provided a very exciting and scorching hot read.
I would happily recommend the book to any person that would love to spend some wonderful time reading a very good book. Very well done, and a MUST READ.

4.5 Adorably Cute Stars!!!

Awww, I really enjoyed this cute, quick read!! Alyssa and Luke were too freaking cute!!! They both went to Belize to escape from their reality and gain some clarity... They met and decided to spend their time together with no strings attached and lots of fun... It wasn't a full blown erotica, but there definitely was some sexy scenes in this book... I wish there was more!! I want to know what happened when they returned home? What was Luke's final decision about his job? Did they make that trip again with the rest?? All that extra stuff!! Or at least an amazing epilogue would have been nice...

A Trip to Belize, please!

Being terrified of heights and flying, I have always fulfilled my wanderlust through books. Thanks to Ms. Easton, I just enjoyed an exciting, beautiful and romantic trip to Belize. During my literary vacation, I got to meet Alyssa and Luke. Their story was heart-racing, heartwarming and unforgettable. Having a no-strings, anonymous love affair is nothing short of hot! But, when that affair morphs into something magical and more substantial, you’ve got yourself a spectacular romance. If you like sun, sand and a scrumptious love story, then Anonymity is definitely the book for you!

This was an enjoyable and quick read.

I liked the characters. I liked the storyline. (I wish I could have a holiday hook up with the likes of Luke!) I liked the writing.

A page turner and a fun read. Definitely worth a look for something light- hearted and well executed.

Thanks Ms Easton.

This book was sweet. Starting with a need to forget the past, Alyssa and Luke meet in Belize. Their connection was immediate and fun. Flirty and sexy when they slid between the sheets, their shared experience while on vacation seemed to catapult them into love.

It's cliche at the end, but my word it was sweet. Loved them together and enjoyed this story.
