Need You Now is a novella from the 1,001 Dark Nights Series. It is an exciting introduction to Ms. Jones new upcoming series called Shattered Promise. I can honestly say that this novella was a pleasant surprise.
Danny and Jensen had an amazing attraction with each other after meeting at a bar. Not quite a one night stand, but something between them that cannot be left unexplored. Unfortunately, they find out the next day that not only they both are in the hotel business, they will also have to work closely together. Despite being professionals, they still cannot deny or ignore the feelings they have. Will they break down? Well, the question is when and where it will happen, and the details will leave you in “need” as well. =P
I truly enjoyed this short story and to my surprise; it didn’t have an insta-love short stories usually have. I think Ms. Jones did a great job with Danny and Jensen having enough time to fall in love with each other. Danny and Jensen’s story was sexy, sweet and most definitely hot!!! It was still too short for my liking, and there was a tad of unanswered questions. This is one of Ms. Jones’ trade mark.
She often leaves her readers wanting more. That’s fine with me; I’ve come to trust that this author will always deliver a good story. With that said, I’m excited and intrigued to see where Ms. Jones will take this series next.

OMG!!! I am at the end of the book still trying to turn pages. Oh no this can't stop now. I need to know more. This book keeps you guessing. I love this possible love story. The characters are very interesting. I want to know more. I can't wait for the next book!

There was something about this one that I didn't care for right away. Not sure if it was the scene at the bar or the way that Danny seems like a doormat, or if it's how Jensen seems like an ass from the start. Whatever it is, in the end this one just wasn't for me.

Danny is at her hotel's bar with her BFF celebrating the BFF's birthday. Danny is the secretary for the hotel's CEO (or whatever her title was). She's sworn off men, but meets Jenson at the hotal bar. She ended up going to his room, but leaves before the main event. Turns out, her boss (Meredith) might be ousted from her position and Jenson is there to help. Danny has an attraction to Jenson and vice versa.
This was short and sweet. Okay HFN ending, but a little quick.

This connection will change you and your life completely, making you throw caution to the wind and just finally live. Life for Danny changed just like that. A touch, a simple kiss awakened things inside of this good girl that she never gave anyone the chance to possess….

Good girl, the boss’s secretary who doesn’t color out of the lines, is so out of the lines right now, I’m about to fall off the page. And I like it. Oh yes, I like it a lot. “
Jensen, his name alone excludes sexiness, power, money and control. Tall, dark, hard with emerald colored eyes, could you resist? I couldn’t and that’s why I fell hopelessly in love with him just like Danny. I had no choice, it was instant, starting with a little spark that grew into a roaring flame.
” He is power. He is money and control and I have no idea why, but suddenly I am back in that hotel room and he is yanking my skirt up my hips… “
Danny was alone and perfectly fine with that until she meets Jensen. He made her feel alive by forcing her walls to come tumbling down. He made her see her desires and not only accept them but embrace them full force.

It was beautiful to watch these two strong characters fall in love with each other, it was like watching someone set a caged bird free. He freed her from loneliness, he freed her from herself.

I didn’t know what to expect going into this novella because it was different than LRJ’s normal romantic suspense books, but she did not disappoint. Her writing remains as flawless as ever and I honestly never get tired of reading her work. I can’t wait to get the conclusion of Danny and Jensen’s combustible love affair!
” …I am ready to admit he evokes more than passion in me. I respect his skill, but I still fear he’s more the Wolf On Wall Street than Prince Charming. I glance up at him, and his gaze meets mine, and I swear there’s a hungry look in his eyes that is one part man and one part beast. I received an ARC from the author for an honest review (Member of Lisa’s Underground Angels).
This is a prelude book to a new series called Shattered Promises. I have to say this was a very short but entertaining read.
The book follows Danielle/ Danny Woods and the opening Danny is out with her friend Katie who is having a birthday. Danny meets Jensen and has an almost one night stand at the hotel where she works. The next morning Danny finds out that Jensen is more than he let on. The two must work together in a business setting with the one night between them, and then they succumb to the chemistry to one another. This is a great read and I cannot wait to read the series when it comes out.

What a fantastic novella. I have never been a fan of Novella's, but Lisa Renee Jones is quickly changing my view on them.
Jensen and Danny are electric, their attraction is instant and deep, but when they find out exactly who the other is, things become complicated. Then, Danny's boss (Jensens Aunt) makes things even more complicated to these two. As they try to keep things professional, sexual tension builds until it finally explodes.
I so hope we get to find out more about this couple, I feel instantly in love with them.

I received an ARC of this book and was a little hesitant. I love everything I've read by this author, but I was afraid she couldn't possibly come up with new intriguing characters or a new storyline. I am very pleased to say I was wrong. very wrong.
Lisa does a great job of creating strong yet vulnerable characters that find what they need in each other in spite of not knowing they need it.

I really enjoyed it! Danny is biding her time at her job until she can attend med school. Danny doesn’t step outside the lines until Jenson tempts her. She's immediately drawn to this sexy stranger and she's tempted to follow her hormones instead of her head. Jenson is an intelligent, powerful man and after she learns who he really is, Danny doesn't know how much she can really trust him even though they have explosive chemistry. I'm left wanting more of Danny and Jenson!

Not bad, not bad.
Need You Now is just another quick ass novella that I got my hands on. Yes, I am trying to catch up on my reading challenge. Yes, I am kind of sort of cheating by listening to novella audio books. Do I care? Not one bit.
This book was pretty good if I'm being honest. Definitely hooked and want to know what is going to happen next for all of these characters. I just feel like there is something else for Danny and Jensen. At first, I didn't really like Danny. Maybe it was just her character alone but Jensen's character really made her more likable to me. Without him, it just seemed like she left everyone walk all over her - which is a turn off for both friendship/relationship in any person/character.

Need You Now is the first in a new series from author Lisa Renee Jones as well as novella number 11 in the 1,001 Dark Nights Series. This novella gave a wonderful introduction to this new series and has me hooked and wanting more!
Out for a night of celebration in honor of her best friend’s birthday, Danny expected to have a few drinks and head home to get ready for another day at work the next day. She’s been hard at work for a small and posh hotel chain, biding her time before she has enough funds for med school and it seems that it’s just around the corner for her to be able to realize her dream of becoming a doctor. She never expected to meet a sexy and irresistible stranger in the bar and certainly never expected to come so close to one night of passion with that stranger. But it had almost happened, and was completely out of character for her. Danny had made it home before she did something she regretted that night, though, and before Danny can figure out why this attraction had been so fierce and sudden, she seems him the next day at the hotel. To make things even more complicated, she finds out who he is and that she will be working with him in trying to turn things around for the hotel chain. She was in so much trouble when it came to this sexy man and her attraction to him. Will she have the strength to ignore this passion? The better question is: will she want to?
Holy yum, Batman. This novella packs a TON of delicious heat and attraction and I loved it. Danny is a really enjoyable character with many facets to her personality. She’s strong and loyal with a good sense of what she wants out of life and her future. Jensen is smoking hot. He’s take charge and no-nonsense. He’s all alpha and I loved reading the scenes between him and Danny. There was also another layer to this story in the struggle of the hotel Danny works for and Jensen’s role in the future of the company. There is a bit of mystery surrounding him and that just added even more to love with this novella. Need You Now is the perfect book to spend an evening curled up on the couch with and truly is a great into to Lisa Renee Jones’ new series. I will be anxiously awaiting the next installment.

Danny Woods is used to being alone, in fact she craves it more than ever. Being alone allows her to focus on her upcoming MCAT for medical school, on her job, and allows her to be a good friend. However, she suddenly realizes how much she does not want to be alone when she finds herself in the arms of a stranger in an elevator. After an amazing orgasm, her doubts overtake her pleasure and she runs away from the amazing connection she felt with a sexy as hell stranger. Suddenly her regret multiplies when she finds the stranger standing in her boss's office. Jensen is not some random hook-up, he is the nephew of her boss and she is now assigned to him to help save the hotel she works for as an employee.
Jensen is deliciously hot and almost breaks his number one rule about never getting involved with anyone at work. Rules ares meant to be broken, right? He can't get enough of Danny and can no longer deny his body and needs. He must have her and when he is in, he is all the way in. Can Jensen put his business need aside and focus on his own personal needs and desires that keep building for more of Danny? Or will his commitment to business and success win?
This delicious novella is the start to a series that I can't wait to read more. Danny is aware that he is not Prince Charming, and in fact she comes to realize she is attracted to his sexy wolfish ways. However, is he telling the truth? Is she betraying her boss and the employees she longs to protect by being involved with him? Is she just a conquest and part of a business deal? She can't be sure herself and begins to think alone is the best way to protect herself and her future goals.
Review to come.......once again, a wonderfully written book, very hot characters, great plot, and an ending that leaves me desperate for more!

Need You Now is a novella from the 1,001 Dark Nights Series. It is an exciting introduction to Ms. Jones new upcoming series called Shattered Promise. I can honestly say that this novella was a pleasant surprise.
Danny and Jensen had an amazing attraction with each other after meeting at a bar. Not quite a one night stand, but something between them that cannot be left unexplored. Unfortunately, they find out the next day that not only they both are in the hotel business, they will also have to work closely together. Despite being professionals, they still cannot deny or ignore the feelings they have. Will they break down? Well, the question is when and where it will happen, and the details will leave you in “need” as well. =P
I truly enjoyed this short story and to my surprise; it didn’t have an insta-love short stories usually have. I think Ms. Jones did a great job with Danny and Jensen having enough time to fall in love with each other. Danny and Jensen's story was sexy, sweet and most definitely hot!!! It was still too short for my liking, and there was a tad of unanswered questions. This is one of Ms. Jones’ trade mark. She often leaves her readers wanting more. That’s fine with me; I’ve come to trust that this author will always deliver a good story. With that said, I'm excited and intrigued to see where Ms. Jones will take this series next.

This novella is the prelude to the Shattered Promises series. It is an intriguing start, two strangers meet and there is an instant connection that throws them off kilter and cannot be denied. Upon a second meeting soon after, they act on that connection without thought of the consequences and in so doing set off a chain of events for fate has decided that this is not to be a one night encounter.
Jensen Miller is the sexy hero whose intentions are in question. Is he as bad as he professes himself to be? There is something about Danny that he finds exceptional. It starts out with us celebrating Katie 's birthday, Katie is upset that her rocker boyfriend wasn't there with her, she felt like she didn't matter enough. Danny is Katie 's best friend, she is celebrating with Katie at the bar, she is at the bar ordering them some more drinks when she accidentally touches this man, she instantly feels something she hasn't felt in a while. Katie's boyfriend ends up surprising her and whisking her away, leaving Danny alone. Danny ends up doing something she has never done before, she goes with Jensen, the man from the bar. Danny questions her choice when Jensen's phone starts ringing at midnight, the only thing she can think is that he's married, so Danny decides to leave because she doesn't want to be in the middle of a marriage. The next morning she realizes that she doesn't have her phone, now she needs to get it back. You are going to have to read the book to find out if Danny gets her phone back. I received an advanced copy for my honest review, Lisa hasn't disappointed me yet, I loved this story, now I can't wait for the rest of it. Keep up the great work Lisa, I really enjoy reading your books, they keep me in the edge of my seat, I want to read them straight through.

Let me start by saying that I received an ARC from the author for an honest review.
Wow. I wish I could give it more that 5 stars. Lisa Renee Jones is my favorite author. She never disappoints. The only disappointment is in waiting for the next book to come out.
Need you now is a Prequel to Lisa's new series Shattered Promises. It is a short novella, only about 107 pages. I read the entire thing in one sitting it was so compelling.
Danny takes her best friend to the bar for her birthday and is feeling extremely lonely. She goes to the bar to get more tequila and literally runs into Jensen. There is an immediate spark between them. Before she knows it he is gone and she's left alone again. Although she shortly runs into him again and they have a hot encounter. Before things can get too crazy between them she has second thoughts and disappears while he is distracted. Unbeknownst to her they would meet again.
Was their meeting by chance or was it a manipulative move on Jensen's part? I can't wait to find out the whole story.

Holy Molly!! Talk about pheromones flying and undercurrents of desire!! Just finished this book and the pages were smoking hot.
Danny has plans for her future. Her current job as the assistant for a hotel network's manager is only temporary while she saves money for medical school. She wants her life uncomplicated, safe, and righteous. But all these efforts have left her acknowledging she is lonely.
"Just was one look... that's all it took!" Just like Linda Rondstadt's song cried out years ago, Jensen hooked her from the get go. His power, heat, masculinity and the undercurrents of ruthlessness took Danny's breath away. The one-night -stand with Jensen that never happened opens the door to all kinds of possibilities.
I was swooning reading about this man. No need of ropes, handcuffs, or any implements of control. This man alone with his personae is able to move in a room and control the oxygen any female is begging to breathe. Lisa Renee Jones has a new sensual main man worth licking your lips over. Bring extra underwear!

I read this prequel as an arc and I was captivated! When you meet Danny, first impressions include intelligent, loyal, great friend, and fiercely protective that she doesn't want to get hurt again! She has a chance encounter and immediate over the top sexual attraction with Jenson. The chemistry is explosive. Danny becomes nervous of yet again being heartbroken and runs out on Jensen only to find out the next day that he is the nephew of her boss and they will now be working together. Can Danny and Jensen do the right thing and work together and not act on their intense chemistry? Why does Danny feel like she may not be able to trust Jensen's true motives? You will be intrigued as you follow the twists and turns and the oh so hotness that Lisa Renee Jones provides in this wonderful beginning of this series!!!

Danny is celebrating her best friend with a drink or three when she meets Jensen. The instant attraction is so, so hard to resist, but she manages. Barely. Until they meet again, in the elevator, and Jensen persuades her to join him in his room. The brief, hot encounter is just that for Danny, until the next day and a surprise is awating her at work.
A quick read, smutty fluff and an Alpha who sweeps Danny off her feet with all the combustive feelings he awakens in her.

Danny and Jensen make a great, hot couple. Danny works for a struggling hotel chain while Jensen is trying to decide whether to save or destroy it. They have a hot night together before either knows who the other is but once they do, they have a hard time staying apart from each other. Can they enjoy great sex with no strings or are they already in too deep?
This is a really fun story. The sex scenes are great and I found myself rooting for both of them and even for the hotel chain and its employees. Another great story from Lisa Renee Jones.

There is something to be said about a first meeting. Danny ( Danielle) Wood finds herself alone again, as she tries to be happy and celebrate her best friends birthday. But as the night goes on she and this guy in the bar touch hands. It is like nothing she has ever felt before. But this guy, Jensen Miller is not just any guy either. This all happens in the hotel she works in. There are thing I defiantly did not see coming. You should see how shocked you will be.
