Elle Harper is running scared. Running from a psycho ex boyfriend left behind in California. Running from the great life that she took over a year to build.
Crash Logan is troubled by the recent murder of his father, a death that puts him as head of the family. He's got businesses to run, a family to take care of, and the unrelenting thought of revenge on his mind.
When Elle comes rolling into town, she finds herself quickly embroiled in so much more than she bargained for. Her new room-mate at college, Alice, just happens to be dating one of the best looking guys she's ever seen, Kyle. That is, until she meets his older brother Crash
As Elle begins to quickly build a new life away from her troubles, she finds that Crash Logan may not be the train-wreck that people would have her believe, and may just be the man she needs when her past begins to catch up with her.
I got through the first book of the series, Exposure, with pain but the story was entertaining and believable. However the editing was horrendous. The editing on this book was worse. At one point the author actually used the wrong name of the victim. I felt like I was reading a paper written by a high school student in freshman creative writing. I'll never get the time back it took to read this book and for that I'm sad.
Okay so what I put together from reading ‘Crash’ is that Kyle and Alice Killed Mr Logan in a previous story? Maybe because he was against them being together or maybe something more sinister, I really don’t know and I really don’t think I want to find out.
I read this book in one sitting because it had the potential to wow me with the intrigue that surrounded the story but I found it all a little rushed. The kidnapping was a great twist but I wanted more. Elle and Crash’s love story again was a little rushed, they must have had all of 6 encounters but he risked his life for her?!?! The murder was a little surreal and a blur for me. See my problem here, like I said it has so many great aspects but they didn't flow together well for me. Also too many mistakes, I can look over the wrong word here or there but this book had me keeping count.
I hate being so negative about someone’s work because at the end of the day what do I know, I have never written anything, but this story had all the makings of a really great book. 1 star Disappointed.
Crash is an intense guy, "I looked up and saw Crash staring at me. There was a fire lit in his eyes, this blaze that was exploding out of him." You know I think the boy is bi-polar especially where Elle is concerned he treats her so fine one minute and the next she's like garbage he can't wait to get rid of, "I'm done here," he continued. The words cut at me. They were callous." But he is still so protective, "who is he?" I growled. "Where is he?" And he would kill anyone who hurt his woman, "Elle. I need to protect her. I needed to see her safe. Nothing anyone could say would change that." The book was okay, I liked it but wasn't in love with it.
I read this book really fast. Yes there was alot of typo errors and in one place at the end of the book it talks about Alice instead of Elle. But all that could be correct if the author has someone read through the book and checks for spelling and words out of text.
Beside that one thing I liked the story. Yes, I will probably read about all the Logan Brothers. The book is fiction and yes some things seem hard to believe but then others don't.
On that note, to L.A. Shorter I give a thumbs up. Keep writing. I would love to write a book but never seem to feel that I would be able to do it.
I have not read book one of this series and I feel like I am missing details that would have made a little more sense had I started with book one. As for Crash and Elle's story- I like them together, but the relationship developed a little fast with very little actual communication between them. Elle's backstory was entertaining and I like the secondary characters.
There are several editing errors that need fixed and I would recommend starting with book one...other than that it was a good read.
there is nada. I don't even know if this was a romance. the cover just looked so good and the description of the book was interesting, but that was it. I should have just spent my time staring at the cover and saved myself skipping chapter after chapter seeing if the would ever get together. there was no romance, falling in love, or even spending time together. no chemistry. just nothing. so sorry, but this is a miss.
ok so this book didnt really feel like a contemporary romance, it was ok i suppose. there was something about the book that i wasnt satisfied i think it was the ending it was kind of cut short in my opinion. Crash was idk the character i couldnt really picture him talking the way the book went it was hard to imagine a guy like him.
I really liked the story and the characters but the editing was pathetic. She even used the wrong characters name in place of the one that should have been. I really like the story lines of this author but pay a little bit to get it edited. there is nothing more difficult then to try to read a book that you don't know what the word is supposed to be.
I liked it, but this book is not really my favorite. Crash's a bit too intense to me, not to mention weird because his moodswing almost as bad as Kyle. But overall I enjoyed his story. I was expecting more drama though. Not sure if I want to read the next installment of this series because L.A. Shorter's style of writing is not exactly 'getting better' after book one. So yeah..
Look, I can understand that this is supposed to be a short prequel, but that shouldn't mean that you don't use the spellchecker. I had to discern my own meaning in a couple places that should have mattered. And the storyline doesn't go far enough to drag you in. Pull it out, just a little bit more.
I would have rated this book higher but there were a lot of misspellings. Also the book was written in the point of view of people born and raised in the US yet some of the dialect sounded foreign to me. I enjoyed the story line and look forward to reading up on these characters in the future.
This book was, we'll I will never get that time back! The editing was horrible, at least twice she used the wrong name for the main female character. There was no romance. I felt no chemistry between Crash and Elle. If you haven't read it yet, don't bother.
it was an ok book.. not as bad as some of the reviews... I took a chance after reading the review and I'm glad I did ... I don't think there was enough chemistry and emotions, just felt like it needed more but it was a good read
Crash was a bit of a tough cookie to crack. I think this man has put that much pressure on himself to follow in his father's footsteps yet none of his brothers expect it of him. It is great that he is such a family focused guy but it was nice that he would allow Elle in to his heart.
