When Nathan's ex-wife takes off with his two daughters, he is desperate to find them. His P I had no luck, but suggested he contact Gillian. Gillian is trying to move forward with her life. Her boyfriend reunited with his wife, and Gillian is trying to hide her psychic gift from people. Nathan has to plead with Gillian to help him. Finally, she agrees. Gillian and Nathan have instant chemistry. Nathan is consumed with finding his daughters, but Gillian is a distraction. When Gillian locates the girls, she doesn't know where she will fit in Nathan's life, if she fits in at all. I really enjoyed this light contemporary romance. I could see where Gillian felt awkward around Nathan and his over protective wife. Nathan put entirely too much pressure on himself and I think he needed to see his worth even if he wasn't seriously wealthy. Gillian also needed to make peace with her special abilities and use them to help others. Overall this one gets a B.
I thought this was a good book. First in series about a psychic who helps Nathan find his aughters. His ex takes 5hem away from him. The only thing they could have left out is love scenes.
I’m looking forward to next book, already started, Jakes Bride. So far, very good!
I found this a very quick read that engaged me from the very first page. I like it when I can get right into enjoying the story right away. Gillian and Nathan's story is very sweet. I also thought the story-line of Nathan's relationship with his ex-wife to be "interesting" (I don't want to give away anything but wanted to mention it was something that I truly noted). I look forward to other books in this series.
Nathan’s looking for his two young daughters that were taken away by his ex-wife 6 months ago. When his investigator, Jake, recommends the psychic, Gillian Moore, he tracks her down. She is his last chance to finding his daughters. Gillian has moved to L.A. after being heartbroken by a father who she helped to find his son. She also wants to figure out whether or not she should continue using her gift to help others. When Nathan comes to her to ask for her help, she is reluctant. But Nathan does his best to convince her to help him.
They fight their attraction along the way and have their own small arguments here and there, most of them due to Nathan’s stress over his daughters, work, and his reluctance to start anything serious with another woman.
This wasn’t one of the stories that have some light-heartedness to it along with the seriousness of the situation of the missing characters. It is intense with all characters having some sort of sad past. I did like that the ex-wife wasn’t given the typical ex role where the ex tries to win back their ex. The psychic aspect was nicely done.
It was good, though I wouldn’t want to read another story so soon that has this gloomy tone to it.
This book is a easy light read for a story that could very easily be quite dark and depressing.
I loved how Nathan would not give up on his children and would find them at all costs, even to go and seek out a psychic to find them. The relationship that develops for Nathan and Gillian is beautiful and i found the psychic element to be very believable, not kooky at all the way Karen wrote the visions and pictures that Gillian could see in the story fit in very well.
I found all the characters to be well rounded and they have good personalities to make you want to read more about them in future book in the series.
I do have one little niggle about this story, i think Nathan was very quick to forgive his ex wife for taking his children away from him for 6 months, he didnt really seem to show any anger towards her for all the passion he had towards finding them it just seemed to fizzle when they found them and it was all happy families.
A nice little get away book to pass a few hours, great emotional love story with a HEA.
This information is necessary. **First edition published under the title Adam's Vow for Silhouette Books. NATHAN'S VOW has been revised and updated.** That being said, I found this novel to be light and easy, despite the heavy subject. Karen Rose Smith has done a good job of updating the book, I couldn't sense any breaks or seams. The lead couple is engaging and the romance is strong. There is a slight psychic element, which serves to move the story along. The pacing is relatively even, the story well-plotted, and the cast of characters interesting enough to support a series. I would read more from this author. *I received my copy from NetGalley.com in exchange for an honest review.
Karen Rose Smith's books are always winners. I love the Search for Love Series but somehow missed the first book of the series until now. Now I can say that I love every book in the series. This is another beautiful story with wonderful characters. In her books, life is always bright and perfect, but it is filled with hope and opportunities!
I enjoyed reading this book so much. I would recommend this boy of two lives come together as one with different obstacles that could separate them. True love has brought them together at end
