That was a fun ride, it starts were fallen ended Lisa finding out she's expecting.
Obviously as the father is half demon/angel things don't progress as a normal, there's lots of people taking an interest.
Alex and Lisa are getting there heads around becoming parents when people keep advising them it gets to much so Alex whisks her away. Unfortunately the things happening can't be escaped!
This book is a journey of love and hope with a lot of angst mixed in for good measure.
I really enjoyed seeing how Lisa and Alex grow in the story, and you can feel there passion for each other throughout the book.
I'm really looking forward to book 3 now
A 4.5 star read, but please read Fallen first as you want to fully enjoy the characters and story.
Ps I'm a big fan of Michael.....maybe a spin off story @julie Morgan ;)
I could not put this book down! The writing was superb, keeping a fast pace that kept me up until 2:37 a.m. to finish it. Angels and demons, oh my! Yes this story is different. Yes the relationship between Alex, the fallen, and Lisa, the love of his life, is sweet and hot at the same time. Yes, you will be amazed at the the kindness of a few angels and one reluctant demon. Yes, this book is full of action . Finally, yes, you will want more!!!
Another winner of a book from Julie Morgan. She has given birth to her own honey of a storyline and keeps her readers wanting more. Took me a single day to get through this one and now I'm waiting to see where it all goes. Way to go Julie!
Redemption is a great follow-up to book 1 in the “Chronicles of the Fallen” series. Lisa and Alex are trying to start their lives together as a normal couple.. Except, now that they're expecting a baby (Woooooooo!!!) things are becoming rather difficult for Lisa. From hallucinations to horrid nightmares, then practically losing herself all together when she and Alex become intimate – almost as if the babies DNA is altering hers to become a demon! * Eeeep! *
Whereas Alex is busy helping Lisa thru what should be the best times of a couples life, he is also battling his inner demon back when he became a fallen-angel from book 1. Although, the way the author writes Alex, when he goes all eyes the color of onyx and has his raven colored wings outstretched when he goes into battle-stance... Swoooon. That's pretty damn hot, Lisa is one lucky girl, hahaha!
“I miss the angel, but I would never go back if it meant leaving you. You are my world, my everything” -Alex to Lisa
They definitely have a long road ahead of them, especially with a certain sinfully sexy demon after both of their souls who will stop at nothing to get what they want. Which is an extremely rare hybrid baby. And when you all get to the delivery scene, all I can say, is that if every birth is like the one Lisa and Alex went thru.......... Yeah, kids would never happen for me, LOL! That was a great scene, and it had my eyebrows glued to my hairline. Crazy good stuff there.
Ms. Morgan did a great job continuing right along where Fallen left off. The way she describes the epic battle scenes is fantastic. The sex is GREAT. I love the humor that she throws in her books, that's a huge plus for me, having her characters seem real. And the characters all mesh together extremely well. And there you have it, a well written paranormal romance with some heat, betrayal, suspense, and humor.. Read it!!
I kind of want to see if Archangel Michael and the Demon Gorgon will ever have a little somethin' somethin' go on.. =P But that could just be the romantic in me trying to play matchmaker with every character I read!
I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review, thank you Julie Morgan!
Redemption is the second book in Chronicles of the Fallen series and it picks up right after Fallen ends. I would recommend reading the first book in order to have the backstory that is needed for understanding this one, and note that it is an ongoing series.
Alex and Lisa are a joy to read. They’re funny, silly and fit perfectly together. Lisa is a character that grew on me as the series progressed. She’s a strong female that shows signs of vulnerability which I find admirable in female MCs. I found that I enjoyed her more in the second book than I did the first since you can see, really see, the character growth that she’s going through. Alex too is no exception to that, and watching him struggle with both sides of himself is intriguing and painful to watch. It’s hard to think of such a good guy as Alex harboring both sides of the coin, but the demon in him is there, lurking beneath the surface.
Overall the writing is good, and the characters showed growth and progression.
The pacing was a bit too fast for my tastes though, and it felt rushed in some spots. The theology, while unique to the series, is completely different from anything that I’ve personally read or studied. I found it to be a little strange that the Archangel Michael, General of Heaven’s Army, was fearful of a Hybrid who apparently couldn’t defeat demons that were on the same level as himself. The only explanation I could come up with was the fact that Michael didn’t want to kill Alex due to their friendship, otherwise, I believe that he’d be laying the smack down on him.
Again, there is an overabundance of description in this book as there is in the first one. I, as a reader, enjoy description, but I do not need to be told every little detail especially where clothing or appearances are concerned. The descriptions regarding Limbo, the fighting, and ripping are great though, and I did thoroughly enjoy those.
I give Redemption a 3.5, the growth of the characters sincerely impressed me and watching their lives unfold in the uncertain times that they faced was what kept me reading until the end.
***Review based on a complimentary copy provided by the author in exchange for an honest review from This Redhead LOVES Books Blog.
I was gifted this book by the Author for an honest review. I gave this book 5 Angelic Stars. This is book 2 in the Chronicles of Fallen Series it cannot be read as a stand alone, this is also not the last book in the series.
This is the continuing story of Lisa and Alex. Alex is now fallen. He gave it all up to save Lisa from her death caused by Samuel. Lisa is now PG with Alex's child, a thing that they never thought could happen. This story is about Alex protecting his family, and his life. From some un-known source that is trying to destroy them. It is the demons? Is it a certain demon? All Alex knows is that he will stop at nothing to protect what is his. He loves Lisa with every part of him and will do anything for her, even sacrifice himself he has already proven that. Come join Alex and Lisa as they figure out who wants them destroyed and why. After all they have been through can they make it again?
Julie has done it yet again! This story was just phenomenal to me. Someone who can think of the things that she wrote in this book is just amazingly talented! I could not put this book down. I finished it in one sitting and now my body is paying for it. LOL Lisa is such a strong character and Lisa could certainly have taken her in such a different direction then she did, but she didn't and Lisa is all I would hope to be if any of this ever happened to me. I mean come on I can dream of wanting someone like Alex in my life right? It takes a certain amount of talent to do the things that Julie has accomplished in these stories. I am so glad to say that I found these books and have read them. It has been an honor to read for you. Thank you for choosing me. I cannot wait to read what you have coming in the next book, I am sure it's going to be something that will surprise us all!!
I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.
Redemption is the 2nd book of Julie Morgan's Chronicles of the Fallen series and is a continuation of Alex and Lisa's story. In this follow up book, Lisa finds herself pregnant with Alex's baby. Because Alex is a hybrid (an angel-demon), both the angels and the demons are interested with the baby. Alex must protect Lisa and the babyat all cost. But he's finding it harder and harder to keep his demon side in check. Adding to the problems are Lisa's nightmares and changes as she prepares for her baby's birth.
This book is really good! I enjoyed reading the book so much that I finished it in one sitting. Story-wise, this is more fun than the first book. Probably because Redemption has more characters to like and more humor was infused in the book. Romance-wise, this has less steam than Fallen. But I guess that's because sex and lust were very important aspects in the first book's plot. And I found Samuel very sexy in Fallen.
In Redemption, although there are more angels present, my favorite would be the demon Gorgon. She's both good and bad and she's got the spunk that I like in strong female characters. I was both sad and happy at what happened to her in the end.
I'm giving Redemption 4.5 stars because it is a very good book. I love it but it didn't have me gushing with praises because... Well it didn't. It's not that type of book. It's a book where you'll get drawn into the story and smile contentedly after you finish reading because you just know you read an awesome book. I recommend this to all Paranormal Romance readers.
I'm looking forward to the 3rd book. I like the teaser at the last chapter of this book. Enough to tell me that I'll see more of sexy Samuel (I hate him in this book, though) and probably it will be his story in the next installment.
I've been waiting for this installment it seems like forever and it did not disappoint. We find that Lisa's pregnancy is progressing rather fast though seeing as she was impregnated by a demon/angel hybrid its not much of an surprise. Though what was a surprise was the changes that occurred as a result. Through the story until the end I was on pins and needles wondering just what would happen to Lisa when she gave birth and when it did would she be able to survive. I think I was slightly as nervous as Alex. Samuel was back in the picture plotting not only to take get rid of Alex and take Lisa as his own but to harness the power of their child. It seems that Lisa was tortured with haunting and confusing dreams which may have been dreams her unborn child was having who in the child's way was trying to convey what was happening. The birthing scenes and what came after that was so hard to read. I was so upset thinking that Alex and Lisa had been through so much to have things happen this way. Then I realize something important which I don't want to give away. I'll just say things happened as they were meant to happen. As soon as she made her choice to be with Alex I knew that this was the only possible outcome. Though now what does the future hold for their family? What is the true nature of their child's power? How will she deal with the life changes after giving birth to a hybrid baby and marrying a hybrid and the changes her body went through after and during birth? I'm hoping to learn more about the origin of Samuel and just when or if he will ever stop trying to harness the power of Lisa and Alex's child.
Desiree’s 5 Star Review Can you have a little bit of Heaven and Hell? When was the last time you read a book that made you feel like you were going through episodes? One that you were waiting for the next chance you’d have to follow the story?
Here it is! Julie Morgan has created a whole new way to view the world. Lisa Adams is normal woman whose sole focus has been her career. Little did she know just how much of her life would revolve around that choice. Will she be able to have everything she wanted and keep her sole too?
Alex Carter is determined to show Lisa the direction her choices are taking her. He cannot sit back and watch this unfold any longer. Going against all the rules, and everything natural to him, he goes for it all. Falling for Lisa has meant more for him than just love.
Together, after all of the trials Alex and Lisa have already faced, will they be able to continue to stand strong against fate? Their destinies are changing drastically, and it won’t be just theirs affected. Will Heaven or Hell win out in this newest battle in their lives? Neither is sure and their friends aren't either. How could anyone predict a situation the world has never seen before?
If you want to know just what true love is capable of withstanding, you should be reading Alex and Lisa’s story. Take the journey along with the Angels and Demons that have inserted themselves into their lives. Grab your own copy of Redemption, hopefully you've already read book 1, Fallen. This is a series best read in order.
Redemption (Chronicles of Fallen, #2) by Julie Morgan
5 out of 5 stars
In Redemption, Morgan leads readers on a whirlwind journey following Alex and Lisa further into their life together. Alex is a Fallen angel and Lisa is his newly impregnated love interest and they are faced with the uncertainties of what their unborn child will be once it is born.
Samuel, the incubus who previously seduced Lisa, rears his head again with a new determination and curiosity regarding the unborn hybrid, causing a great raucous between Heaven and Hell and their inhabitants. Michael, the archangel and Alex's dear friend, tries to prepare Alex and Lisa for what may await them following the birth of their child but the speed with which Lisa's pregnancy progresses hinders his attempts.
The birth of a child brings a mix of emotions, an unlikely alliance, and a heart wrenching close call.
There is no way I could possibly describe the torrent of emotions that flooded my mind and heart while reading Redemption. The simplicity with which the angels and demons are incorporated into society is beautiful enough to make you question the possibility of actually walking alongside someone who is more than human. I look forward to seeing more of this group and I certainly hope to see Samuel's eventual demise!!!!!

Redemption, book 2 of the Chronicles of the Fallen series, picks up where Fallen ended.
Lisa is pregnant with Alex's baby. The fact that the baby is a mix of human, angel, and demon, well right there, that promises an interesting story. Trying to start their lives together, they are faced with many bumps and obstacles. Just trying to spend a night together they are faced with demons and nightmares. It feels as if it will never be easy for them. Lisa is scared, of the pregnancy that isn't progressing like she thought it would, to the nightmares, to fear of what was happening to her and her body. Alex vowed to protect Lisa no matter what, and with everything he is, he will do just that. Including keeping her in the dark when he thinks it best. Lisa and Alex need to learn to work together if they have any chance of coming out of this story whole.
I cried at parts and loved this story, Alex and Lisa are a great pair and have great chemistry. If you haven't read book 1, Fallen, read it first. Having started with Fallen, I already loved both Alex and Lisa, and with all they faced before, it was nothing compared to what they endure this book.

As this book pickup where book 1, Fallen ended. We continue on the journey of discovery with Lisa and Alex as they try to live a life as normal as a human and hybrid can.
Lisa now pregnant with Alex’s child seems to be progressing faster than a normal human baby. There are unanswered questions as to whether the child will have more demon or angelic? And the hardest question is whether Lisa will survive the pregnancy or delivery. Alex refuses to think about that. He can not lose her now after they went through Hell together to get to this point in their lives.
We are introduced to several new characters in this book, all with a purpose to help Lisa and Alex or so it seems. But in the end good does prevail over evil. That is except for Samuel.
Yes Samuel is back with a vengeance. He is determined to get his hands on the one thing that got away, Lisa. Her baby is just a bonus in his big plans at a power play he has in the works. He seems to be winning but then Lisa shows a side of her that is so unexpected to protect what she loves more than anything.
Looking forward to book 3, Atonement, to see if the love that Lisa and Alex have for each other and their child will be enough for them to finally get rid of Samuel once and for all?
I loved Fallen. It was unique, it was HOT, and it was a story that gripped you until the very end and then left you wanting more.
That's what we get in Redemption - MORE!
Be sure to read Fallen before you read this one, however, as this one continues where Fallen leaves off.
Julie Morgan is a storyteller. And one hell of a one at that. She creates a world so real, so fascinating, and so unique that you can't help but feel yourself IN the story as you read. The characters become friends or enemies, their feelings your feelings, and their story your story.
Lisa and Alex have to be one of my favorite book couples. Their love is so strong and so REAL. Lisa finds herself pregnant with a baby that is not progressing at the rate of a human baby.
What will their baby become? With Alex being half demon and half angel, does Lisa have a chance of carrying this baby?
This one kept me on the edge of my seat - I needed to find out about the baby, I needed to know what Samuel was up to, I needed to know if Alex was going to be able to fight off his demon urges!!
What can I say about this book. I loved the fact that it picks up a few months from where the first book stops at. I also loved the fact that there was just as much going on as there was in the first book. In the book Lisa becomes a bad ass although though starting off she makes you want to kick her ass but that is very understandable. As Lisa's pregnancy progresses she starts having this weird dreams and in a way I thought I was reading just another book about superhuman babies that grow way to fast but what can you expect when the baby is not all the way human. I was so caught up in this book that I could not put it down because I wanted to know what was going to happen with everyone. There were times while I was reading that I was like really but than as I keep reading and it got to the part where Lisa was like " Well if you're leaving me a choice in the matter, then sure, give me a chance to kick your ass sooner" all I could say was bout time. In the end I really enjoyed this book and I look forward to reading the next installment to see what will happen next.
What a wild, fun ride Redemption takes us on. We start were Fallen left off with Lisa finding out the she is Expecting. So you know that if the father is a half demon/angel things aren’t going to fallow the normal plan of thing, making it so much more fun . I love the way Julie Morgan can descriptive something so vividly that you feel it could be happen right in front of you. I fell in love with each character even more then I was with reading Fallen. Lisa is a string female heroine that isn’t to water down or fake. She is well written, making you root for her. Alex, Lisa’s lover is one of my favorite male characters, I love that is a hybrid but we focus more on his good side, but his still has some devilish parts that make him kind of sexier. With Angels and Demons battling giving you so many twists and turns, Redemptions is fast paced, keeping on the edge of you seat. If you want to get you out of a book slump this one sure will.
After reading the first book in the series and giving it 3 stars, I have had to up the stars in this b book #2. I found this one much easier to read and I stayed with it in one sitting.
They are now learning to become parents. I thought Julie Morgan handled the whole of this situations in this book well.
For me, it was beautifully horrible! When she is pregnant and the hallucinations start, like the demons are taking her over, oh boy, was I gripped.
From first book being Ok to this book being WHAT THE HELL! This just shows how an author can grow from one book to another.
Never give up on just one book from an author, in my experience of reviewing for authors, I have learnt to never judge a first book. Everyone can grow, and Julie Morgan is one person I will be checking out on in the future. She well and truly turned my opinions upside down from the first book to this one.
Thank you for allowing me to read a copy of this series.
Lisa's story continues as she finds out she's pregnant and carrying Alex's child. She's ecstatic about this, but there are some downfalls. She realizes that her pregnancy is progressing a lot faster than a normal human pregnancy should. Her unborn child is going to be a mix of angel, demon, and human. She's not sure what to expect.
Alex and Michael want to take her to a place that is a neutral zone to find out exactly what she's having. It seems they're not the only ones interested in the child she's carrying.
This story takes some twists and turns that I did NOT expect. I love being surprised by a book. Lisa and Alex face some tough times in this book. If you loved how Fallen unfolded, then you're going to love Redemption!
We return to Alex and Lisa, along with an impending baby. A child from a hybrid is the first of its kind and both demons and angels are sworn to protect it. Too bad Samuel is still in the picture! He is hoping to wipe out both parents and steal the powers of the child.
I have to say that I laughed as well as cried in this book. The pictures that are painted have such a profound affect on the mind. The angels and demons in this book have joined forces to stop any death threats to the special child. I was happily surprised to find Gorgon having a change of heart. I look forward to the next book, Atonement. It might be hopeful thinking that Samuel is killed off for good, but he does seem a hard bugger to kill :)
***Received a copy exchange for an honest review for her Blog Tour.*** This book picks up right where book one left off, with Lisa expecting a baby. On that not I love love love Lisa. She has become one of my favorite female leading role in a book. The things that she has to go through is crazy. The author did a wonderful job painting us a picture with the details of Lisa and Alex. I am still shocked that Alex is a hybrid, but a sexy one at that. This book had me on an emotional roller-coaster and the amazing details that Julie puts into this book is downright wonderful.
If you want a series with, action, love and supernatural mixed with some suspense pick up this series. You won’t be disappointed with Julie’s writing. Just be ready for a great ride reading these books!!! <3
Lisa finds out she pregnant and Alex is a hybrid that didn't know he could father a child. They don't know what the child is. If the child is demon then there are precautions they will have to take. It is the same if the child is Angel or human. Everything rest on what the child is. Alex want to take Lisa's mind off of everything by taking her away before heading to special hospital that can handle her in her condition. As nears Alex has to give Lisa news that could effect her and her mind. But what happens when she delivers the baby nobody sees coming. What happens with Lisa? What happens to Alex? Is there someone else that they need to be afraid of?
First off, you must read Fallen first to understand whats going on in Redemption, both are amazing books!!
Redemption, WOW, it kicked some major ass! Redemption blew me away!! The angel vs demon battle has so many ups and downs, it kept me intrigued and irritated when I had to stop reading for some reason, I was dying to finish it and find out what happened.
There were times I wanted to slap or curse some of the characters, you get so drawn into the story you can't bear to put it down. The author did an amazing job with this one, you can literally picture everything that's happening, it has such great detail. I am completely in love with this book and cannot wait to read more.
I was asked my Julie to read & review so here goes.
OMG!! Loved it, now I Julie knows I don't normally read paranormal books but Alex just sucks you in & makes you fall in love with him all over again. I cried like a baby which means it's an awesome story. The true connection between Lisa & Alex is simply epic. I still liked Samuel even though he was a demon & he needed a good old slap ;) Alex is sweet as an angel(yes pun intended) but also pretty dam sexy & hot in the sex scenes. *fans face*
Well worth the read, looking forward to more Samuel in the next book.
4.5 but rounded up for ratings on stars. This was a great follow up to book one Fallen. It started right up where Fallen left off. Where Lisa learns she is expecting Alexs baby. She faces lots of reality during the pregnancy, she realizes it's not a normal pregnancy early on. They aren't really sure what to expect. This book had a great flow to it. Lots of twists. I love all the Angels and Demons going on. This book is very different from most. I mean that in a good way! The Charactors are well rounded and filled out. The plot is great, and everything fits into the story. I loved this book.
Alex and Lisa a romance that is literally filled wilt the loved of angels. But not all is blissful as they have finally overcome some intense battles to be together. Now as the find that they are have a baby they face a set of different yet similar obstacles. A pregnancy that threatens to change Lisa and demons hunting their unborn child. This book was exciting and terrifying. Romantic and tragic. I mean who wouldn't want to fall in love with an Angel with Black wings??? ME!!!!!!!! Hey just call me Lisa. I can't wait for the next installment.... Hurry up Julie!
**Complimentary copy provided by author for an honest review**
Ms. Julie nailed it again! Redemption, Lisa and Alex's story continues. After the things she went through on the first book, they will face another challenge. New angels and demons are introduced that made the story more interesting. The excitement and the action on this book is amazing.. I loved it! It's a WOW!! Especially on how this book ended!! I'm not disappointed on how things went on this book.
I am such a nerd for stories of Angels and Demons and the never-ending conflict between Heaven and Hell. Redemption is the sequel to Fallen, which pretty much lays out who our characters are and the setting of the story. Essentially, Fallen should be read before reading Redemption.
I don't normally read paranormal books about angels and demons. I am a vampire and werewolf kinda girl. But I have to say I really enjoyed Redemption. It started off right where the first book ended and we continued to follow Lisa and Alex on their journey of love and all things heaven and hell. I am looking forward to the 3rd book in the series to see what tricks Samuel will come up with next. And where baby Jonathan fit into everything.
Fell more in love with Alex and Lisa in this book. More Angels and Demons join in on this book. Samuel still ticks me off. I wish I know his background more of how he became so evil. Part of me hopes he has a good side... He doesn't in this book. Gorgon is the demon turned nice? I like her. Wouldn't want her in my dreams but she is like the Grinch in the sense I feel like she grows a heart. Alex's Angel friends are wonderful I hope to see more of them in book three! Well of to read Atonement.
4.5 Stars!! This book took me out of my book slump. I absolutely loved it! Julie Morgan is an awesome storyteller. She had me on the edge of my seat waiting to find out what happens. At one point I was in tears even. I can't wait til the next in the series comes out! LOL I'm saying this and Redemption isn't even published yet. :D
Julie Morgan does it again!!! The first book had me hooked and the second one was just as great. In this book, she introduces new characters. You aren't for sure which side they are on but everyone has a common interest, the baby. Redemption left me wondering what's going to happen next and dying to read the next book.
