Bluegrass Dynasty Series #2

Tearing Down Walls

Rate this book
You're a successful businessman. A molten-blooded Italian hunk. And the newest, hottest, most in-demand service Dom/top in a 500-mile radius, with dozens of women falling at your feet. So, which woman? How do you choose?

That's easy - you pick the one who can't stand you.

And that's exactly what Vic has done. He's tried desperately to get the wrong woman out of his heart, and it looks like he may have succeeded. And just when he thinks everything in his life is falling into place, Cupid plays a nasty joke on him and he falls for the one woman who doesn't want to be anywhere near him, Somehow it isn't already bad enough that he has a secret keeping him from having a loving, long-term relationship; to make matters worse, if he wants to have a chance with the ice princess, he has to keep her alive long enough to tear down the walls she's built around herself.

Laura is as prickly as they get, but there's a reason. Her clothes hide a secret that she's sure would make any man run, and that secret is about to get her killed. The trauma she endured during her service to her country left her unable to feel any emotion or trust anyone, and the idea of ever letting a man touch her is out the window. When she returned home from Bosnia, her family shunned her and her harsh personality, so she's dealt with her demons alone and on her own for too long. But Laura didn't expect to meet a man who would promise to keep her safe and would die to keep that promise. That makes him a man worth trusting. And when her past wants to kill her to keep her quiet, can she open up to him before it's too late?

The second full-length novel in the Love Under Construction series, Tearing Down Walls is a fun, erotic, romantic, and suspenseful romp that takes you back into the world of the Walters family of Louisville, Kentucky. It features many characters over the age of 40 and contains too many steamy, hedonistic sex scenes to be suitable for anyone under 18 years of age. Step into the Walters' world and have some fun!

"I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads."

What a fantastic, emotional roll coaster of a story. I've needed a few tissues, been really nervous of how things are turning out, and saddened at how evil people can be to their children. But I've not been able to stop reading, not even when I was supposed to be asleep!

This is a really well written book, that builds on from the previous story in Laying A Foundation. It is best that you read the books in order, although this would be a fantastic read even on its own.

Family in all its forms and love in all its guises are the two underlying themes that run through these books. Interlaced in the romance though are trauma, danger, adventure, excitement and lots of passion. This is no easy read, but it is worth every minute. The heat between the characters is off the charts, and always in context. Can't wait for the next one (hint hint!)

I fell in love with Vic in Laying a Foundation, hoped he would find his way and this book did not disappoint!

I don't do spoilers, if you have read the first book then you know this one is a must read!
We've seen Tony & Nicky overcome their issues and learn to live again, now it's Vic & Laura's turn.

I couldn't have loved a book more than I did this one, I was begging for more Vic in the first book, and finally we get to know all his secrets, his history, why he is the man he is.

As well as Laura, who's life quite frankly sucked for so long, until Vic comes up with something he thinks may help her overcome her past and be whole again.

I can't really come up with the words to describe this book adequately, it's the most amazing of the series so far. Both Vic and Laura's pasts are more tragic than Tony and Nicky's were and they both chose their paths to deal with it.
I'm so grateful for their story, Vic was my favorite secondary character and I loved reading his story.

****If you have reservations with reading about non-consensual sex please note that there are a few scenes in this book that deal with that.****

Laura Butler is damaged goods. Since her return from Bosnia, she's withdrawn within herself, not letting any one in and not seeking help. She afraid of speaking out, of letting people know what happened to her. One warning changed her life forever, and she is unwilling to take any more chances with her life.

Vic Cabrizzi is a handsome guy, but his past has taught him hard lessons. Looks aren't everything, without control you can hurt those you love. He desparately wants to love and be loved, but he can't bear the thought of hurting another woman, physically and mentally.

What happens when two people meet that have more issues that than can manage? Sparks fly and attitudes are ruffled. Neither giving an inch -- until all hell breaks loose and they have no choice but to begin to trust each other.

Sit back and enjoy the ride. Lots of twists and turns, get to know the story of Vic and what makes him tick. Learn about Laura and watch her transformation.

I can't wait for book 3.

Before reading Tearing Down the walls please be sure to read The Groundbreaking and Laying a Foundation, these books must be read in order. This is Vic and Laura’s story. Vic is a huge hot man who has had relationship issues in the past that he needs to overcome. Laura has a past that haunts her and thinks she will never be happy. Fate has a way of bringing these two wonderful people together and showing them that they can have what they both wish for if they just let go and try.

Characters: I loved Vic in Laying a Foundation and loved him even more in this book. All of the characters are so relatable and feel just like your own family and friends.

I received this book for free to read and review for Wicked Reads.
This book was a well written read, and explored many facets of Dungeon activities in a bdsm world. The genre I couldn't begin to describe because it stretched across so many, I don't see how it couldn't appeal to just about anybody. The characters were from the first two books, the prequel and Laying a Foundation, almost a thousand pages between all of them so character development wasn't a problem. World building was so good I could almost see myself living with this family. Overall entertainment value is five stars....nicely done.

*****5 Italian Stallion Stars*****

Wow! I thought Laying the Foundation was steamy! Nope, not compared to Tearing Down Walls! Holy Moly I am definitely going to find my OWN Italian Stallion! Vic and Laura’s story was phenomenal! This one is much more into the BDSM lifestyle and a lot of the “action” occurs at Steve’s BDSM Club, Eden’s Gate. Get your fan ready you will need it!

Vic becomes the newest in-demand Dom for Steve’s club and Laura is a part-time bartender there. Vic and Laura know each other through their association with Tony and Nikki, but Laura has always appeared prickly and not interested in having anything to do with Vic. Laura has secrets that she will never reveal to anyone, emotional and physical scars that would send most men running in the other direction.

That’s what he wanted, to fuck women who made it clear what they wanted, women who weren’t afraid of closeness or of telling a man what they needed . They were confident about themselves and their bodies. That’s what men wanted, women who were sure of themselves and secure in who they were, not something scarred and broken.

As Vic and Laura run into each other more and more, especially at the club, Vic begins to see Laura in a different way. They become closer and form a friendship that starts to turn into more. But Laura’s past comes back to haunt her in a big way and she is forced to fight for her life and Vic is brought along for the ride. Someone from Laura’s horrific military experience wants her dead, he goes to great lengths to make that happen and he almost succeeds. After Vic nearly loses Laura, he realizes how deep his feelings go. When Vic nearly dies trying to save Laura from a madman, Laura knows she will never find anyone like Vic to love her.

“I’ve watched my cousin’s heart go from shattered in a million pieces to whole and strong with a woman who put it back together and loved it, loved him, until he was healed and happy. That’s what I want.

When Tony’s eyes met Vic’s, what passed between them was something that didn’t need words. Vic was happy – happier than Tony had ever seen him. He’d gone about finding happiness in an unconventional, round-about way, but Tony knew everyone had their own path.

All she could see of his face was from the nose up, but she could tell by his eyes that he was sporting a mischievous grin as he looked up at her from her lady parts. “I can’t believe people do this with the lights on,” she grimaced and rolled her eyes. “I can’t believe they’d do it with the lights off,” Vic said, his voice muffled by her skin, then he laughed. “I want to see the scenery when I’m driving!”

There are so many different things happening in this story, it is hard to put it into words. You will cry, you will laugh, you will be turned on, and you will get angry. But in the end, you will feel happy. BUT, don’t get too comfortable as Ms. Hall is setting up for the unbelievable next installment, Steve and Kelly’s story in Renovating a Heart!

*I received this book free from Drue’s Random Chatter in exchange for an honest review*

I absolutely cannot believe this book was slightly longer than the first…it went by so quickly! Then again, this one doesn’t have the same slow beginning as it predecessor. There was nothing like reading the details of Vic’s ‘second job’ to hook me right into the story. Holy cow…wow! If anyone ever mentions a sjambok around me my mind will automatically go to the images my brain has associated with Vic.

Vic is tender, sweet, caring, and over the top sexy. He’s definitely an alpha character if ever I read one. He knows what he wants and he’s not afraid to pursue it. Even if the objection of his desire acts like she hates him.

“You know, you’re even more beautiful when you’re laughing and smiling!”

Laura lives 24/7 with her guard up and her ice queen exterior in place, but knowing her past, it’s perfectly understandable. However, Vic sees more than what she projects. He sees the wounded woman below the mask and he wants nothing more than to kiss away her pain, but at the same time he doesn’t want to risk the pain of getting hurt. And in that lies the double edge sword of love and heartbreak.

“I promised you I’d keep you safe, and I failed. Epic Failure. And I’m so incredibly sorry. I wouldn’t blame you if you never trusted me again.”

This book has it all. There are psycho people hell bent on taking Laura out, each for their own reasons. A somewhat love triangle that ultimately just irritates me to no end. Hate to say it but I seriously do not like Nikki all that much. A tender love story filled with patience. And if you like hot and steamy sex scenes, this definitely has many, and they do not disappoint.

“Like the way you’d love to fuck my wife. And I think the feeling is mutual. And it’s really starting to piss me off.”

My Favorite Moments: I loved the thank you flowers.

“To one of the best teachers in the world from a grateful recipient of the benefits of your teaching.”

AND…

When Laura faced her fears and let Vic attempt to help her…and she approached it with humor.

“Yes, sir.”

“Oh, shit. Fine,” he said, rolling his eyes. “You’ll be calling me a sick son of a bitch before we’re done, so I guess I’ll enjoy ‘sir’ while I can.”

My Favorite Quotes: I have so many, which is why I’ve included them throughout my review, but there are two that made me laugh and I absolutely loved them!

“I need to talk to you about something. And you’ll be pissed at me.”

“Soooo…that’s why you fucked me first, because you knew that if you didn’t you probably wouldn’t be getting any tonight.”

AND…

“God, baby, I think you’ll kill me eventually. Shit, how many times did you come?”

“Sorry, I wasn’t counting. I was doing something more important: Coming. Get me one of those little clicker counters if you want a tally!”

How many times is Deanndra Hall going to make me fall in love with her stories? This is the third book I have read from her and I'm absolutely blown away every time. She makes it so I really connect with the characters and fall so in love with them, like they're my friends and not imaginary people.

Tearing Down Walls is a roller coaster. It's so deep and personal. The emotions are so high and I felt them all. Especially with the background history with the characters and everything they went through in their lives. I wasn't expecting most of it. It surprised me every time I learned something new about them.

Vic is a sexy Italian man who is very wealthy and has a good head on his shoulders. Learning about his childhood memories, made my heart ache with complete sadness. I have to admit, I did cry. He's such a strong person with a huge heart.

Laura is beautiful woman on the inside and out. She's insecure about the person she is and the way she looks. She went through a lot of traumatic things that made her completely shut all of her emotions off. She has trouble showing her feelings, which I don't blame her. Anyone who went through what she did is bond to feel the way she does through most of the book. She gave up hope and sadly, she gave up on herself.

Vic and Laura start a relationship off bumpy. There story takes you through an emotional ride because Vic has to find a way to tear down her walls and make her see the happiness in life and make her see herself as who she really is. Their relationship becomes beautiful and inspiring. Vic is such a sweetheart and never gives up on Laura, no matter what obstacle stands in their way.

I loved this story. It's definitely one heck of a roller coaster with a lot of twists and turns. This is a story that shows love can shape you into a better person. Love can stand up to any obstacles and look them straight in the face and have confidence.

I recommend this book to anyone that love an emotional and inspiring romance stories of love overcoming the power of evil. I wish I could rate this book higher than I can. It was an amazing story that left me wanting more. Deanndra Hall did it, once again!

I cannot say enough good things about this series! I loved this second book. This series has completely made me a Deanndra Hall junkie!I am so blown away with these characters, they feel like family. The character development is so well done, and the story lines are so rich, it is a joy to read. These books are at the top of my favorites of 2014.
This is Vic and Laura's book. While Vic continues to adore Tony's wife Nikki, he is realizing that he wants what they have. Unfortunately, the woman he is falling for is so mean to him. Laura is so shut off from everyone, he doesn't know if she can ever look at him in a romantic way.
Vic has big secrets from his past, damage that makes it dangerous for him to be in a relationship. After hurting Carrie so bad she ended up in the hospital, he has to find a way to control himself. Steve may have some answers, if Vic is up to the challenge. Laura suffered so many traumas in her time in the military, she is unable to feel any emotions. Can Vic help her find the wonderful, beautiful woman under all that pain? On top of everything else, someone does not want her story to get out, and will kill to keep her quiet.
There are so many twists and turns in this book, you won't want to put it down! This story is so well done, I cannot wait to read the next book in this series! I love the fact that these sexy books are about romance in the over 40, even 50's set! Deanndra Hall makes it sizzle! The sex scenes will have you reaching for a cold drink, just to cool you off! This author is quickly becoming a favorite!

I liked this book more than the first book because it has more story and the character development was better.

I was in no doubt clueless about BDSM but after reading this. . . Yeah I don't wanna know anymore. Basically what got me going to finishing this book (and trust me I wanna give up on this book) was my vow to myself that I will finish a book that I have started. I was kind off bored while reading and very frustrated yet again to how long this book is. I kept on thinking "When will this book end?" every time I finish the chapter. The good part of this loong book is that we get to think about how will this end, how will the characters end up and what will be our reaction to this book.

Also another good part of this book is that we get to see a fairy tale ending to our favorite characters.

Speaking of which. . . VIC! I was so shell shocked with his story than Laura's. I mean he went through all that and survived. . . well barely.

I am liking the Walter's family more and more and I wish I get to meet a family same as this and be apart of it. It's just so full of love and care!

I could say that this book, apart from the sex scenes and BDSM, is all about TRUST and BELIEVING IN YOURSELF THAT YOU CAN CHANGE FOR THE BETTER.

My rating for this book would be 2.75-3 stars.

Favorite Quote:
“I see a beautiful, voluptuous, statuesque woman who has no idea what kind of effect she has on me. Inside that woman there’s poetry and music and sunshine and butterflies. I see the you that you really are, not the woman hiding behind baggy clothes and a lousy haircut.”

My Review:
Even hotter than the first! In Laying a Foundation, I was madly in love with Tony, In Tearing Down Walls, I am now deeply in love with Vic – oh beautiful Vic – what a man! He took a woman he liked shopping and bought her a whole new wardrobe – one that he helped pick out- as well as jewelry, and shoes – yes a man that shopped for woman’s shoes! All to build up her self-esteem, well, he hated her clothes, but wow. I need to go find me an Italian construction worker pronto! This installment in the series involved having 2 broken souls finding each other and smoothing each other out. We also get to go into a BDSM sex club, repeatedly. I daresay, I have never done so much laundry in my life. This book is smokin hot, and also has considerable drama and suspense. Excellent writing. I am already deeply addicted to this series and most certainly will suffer from withdrawal once it concludes.

OMG, I may have to go to the heart doctor after reading Tearing Down Walls by Deanndra Hall. This book has so much emotion put into it that you cannot help but ugly cry when you read it. This book has everything you could want in it. Action, romance, twist, turmoil, twist (yes another one), sex, and hot sexy men. I am so in love with the characters of this series. I have to say though that so far, Vic is and has been my favorite so far. 6’8 of panty-melting hotness, what red blooded woman would not want that?
One thing I absolutely love about these Italian men is that they have no problem with showing their emotions, whether it is happiness, sorrow, or love; it is out there for everyone to see. They are also willing to put their lives on the line to protect those that they love, especially their women. Have a box of tissues when you read this book because you will find yourself crying in sorrow, anger and relief. This is one of my favorite books of the year and I give it 5 stars and shout out recommendations for everyone to read it.

This is book two of the Love Under Construction Series but I recommend you read The Groundbreaking and Laying A Foundation before this one.

Vic is a successful businessman who has had relationship issues in the past. All he wants is to knock down her wall. Laura is damaged and alone. Her family has shunned her and from the trauma she has endured she doesn't trust anyone.

What happens when your past comes back to haunt you? Do you trust the one person who said he will do anything to protect you or is it to late? Find out by reading this great book! I loved it and couldn’t put it down, I was addicted from the very beginning!

We give this book 5 out of 5 stars

Loved it just as much as book one. I am late to this series and just found the author recently but with every book I just fall more and more in love with her writing. One good thing about being late to reading them I have the luxury to read them in print version which to me brings so much to my enjoyment of this series.

With each book I fall more and more in love with this family Deanndra has built. Vic and Laura both touched my heart in book one and I knew book 2 would be hard for me but worth it at the same time. Thank you for writing a strong female vet who over comes one some hard things

Tearing Down Walls is the second book in The Love Under Construction Series by Deanndra Hall. It's a must read. This book was just as good as her first one. She brings the characters to life and keeps you wanting more. I'm so glad I got to find out more about Zio Vic and Laura's issues. The way Tony and Nikki supported them was so sweet and
loving. This book is a must read and is filled with love, mystery, suspense. Sit back and relax and enjoy falling in love with two people that is even more broken then Tony and Nikki. I can't wait until the next book Renovating A Heart comes out!

To Dom or not to Dom, that is the question. TEARING DOWN WALLS has some delectable BDSM sex scenes and Melrose Place worthy characters vying for your attention in this second book in the Love Under Construction Series.

Vic Cabrizzi adores women, but coming to terms with a painful past and the marriage of the woman he's in love with has been a challenge for the 50-something businessman. When a friend offers him a spot as a Dom at BDSM club Eden's Gate, Vic decides it's past time to work on his issues. With the support of his friends and family, Vic ventures fully into his new role as a "house Dom," keeping women happily falling at his feet…and his bed…all night long.

Laura Butler spends her days as a security expert for Citadel Security, occasionally taking a bartending shift at her boss' BDSM club. While Laura likes the extra money, she has a hard time understanding why women would voluntarily ask to be abused--she knows what it's like not to have an option. Laura hides a horrible secret that keeps her at arm's length from all men, especially the big bad Vic, who elicits a reaction unlike anything she's ever felt before.

Even with a plethora of available women, Vic can't help but feel something special for the prickly Laura. When it becomes clear that someone from her past is out to kill her, Vic will do whatever it takes to keep Laura safe, including putting his own life on the line. Can this blossoming relationship withstand the torrent of hate and destruction coming their way or are they destined to be apart?

TEARING DOWN WALLS is book 2 in the Love Under Construction Series, and I would recommend probably reading this after book 1, as there seemed to be a lot of background information that I didn't have the benefit of. To be honest, I had a very hard time getting through TEARING DOWN WALLS for a few reasons. First, the constantly changing point of view made me a bit dizzy and had me constantly having to backtrack to figure out what was happening. Had the POV volleyball game been separated better, I may have found it less confusing, but this was happening within paragraphs and without warning. Because of this frustration, I had an equally tough time connecting with any of the characters.

Between rather cheesy dialogue and skepticism that any woman could find Vic's character physically attractive, I found myself wanting to wash my eyeballs out over his creepy obsession with his cousin's wife Nikki (the woman he loves). I truly felt uncomfortable by their banter, and while maybe that was Ms. Hall's goal, to this reader it just felt awkward. Vic's assertion that BDSM wasn't sexual for him was contradicted by the number of women he slept with during his "job."

Laura's character was pretty much a bitch most of the book, though her transplant from socially inept hermit to giggly girlfriend didn't "work" for me. Nor did I feel ok with a BDSM scene solving all of her emotional problems. My biggest problem with Laura, however, is the fact that she's supposed to be a security expert yet runs, hides, puts others in danger and generally has no clue how to protect herself when her stalker comes after her. I pretty much simply had to suspend all reality while watching all of these characters run in circles trying to figure out how the bad guy kept finding Laura.

Truthfully, I could write a lot more about why this book didn't work for me, however I will say that many reviews I've read on TEARING DOWN WALLS from other readers have been glowingly positive. If you are a fan of erotic suspense, BDSM elements, multiple partners (not at the same time) and daytime soap opera theatrics, then you may be a fan of this lengthy 500+ page novel. Either way, you may want to settle in for a long ride as you take the journey with Vic and Laura. - See more at: http://erotic.theromancereviews.com/v...

The good thing about books in a series is that you are firstly already know most of the characters and their background stories, so you don't have the first few chapters 'oh I wish I could understand what is going on here'. Also, you are already used to the authors writing style, and this gets you right back in into the story. My own view is that this book can stand-alone, though it is recommended that you do read the books in order and certainly read the prequel.

All our favourite characters are back. This is book 2 in the Love under Construction Series, and the main focus of this book is the relationship developing relationship between Vic and Laura. Though the other characters from the Walters family like Tony, Nikki, Clayton, Brittany etc are all there, they are all mostly mentioned in passing and we don't learn anything new about them. had taken Laura in my heart from the prequel, so was really happy that this book focuses on her. Both Vic and Laura have had a lot to deal with in their lives which is slowly revealed in the book. And as the previous book in this series, again both the main characters Vic and Laura are in their 40's with life stories and life scars. I personally found the fact that Laura is overcoming her difficulties and how she overcomes them very encouraging. Might not be for everyone but it worked for her and I can actually imagining this as not too far removed from reality. Confusing? Well, give it a try - I don't want to reveal too much.

This is an erotic story with a lot of detailing on sexual practices. BDSM also features extensively in this book. This is not something I knew anything about, and so for me, it was quite surprising, interesting and at times, really quite technical (without being unpleasant at all). If you would like to learn about this scene on a neural basis or are generally just curious, I can recommend this book as a very informative read. And again - finally an erotic book where the main players are not in their teens and twens.

The cover is probably exactly like I would image Laura and Vic to look like, though (and this is a very personal thing!) I don't like men with moustaches so I'd probably rather imagine him without one.

After reading the prequel and the first book in The Love Under Construction Series, Laying a Foundation, I fell in love with Vic Cabrizzi, and was so happy that the second book would be his! Not only is he very tall, fit, gorgeous, and Italian, he is a kind and gentle man. He has some issues in his life that have caused him to end up alone, and my heart broke for him.

Laura has endured more than most people would ever think of and still standing. But she has closed herself off to everyone and can be very unfriendly and abrasive.

I was happy to see Nikki and Tony from the first book, along with other friends and family included in this story. The Walters family is quite large and they don’t hesitate to show their love for one another. They take in new individuals who quickly become family.

One of the best things about this series is that the majority of the main characters are in their 40s and 50s. I like reading about people closer to my age and finding love when they don’t expect it.

Vic ends up becoming a Dom at a BDSM club and immediately becomes popular. Laura helps out in the bar at times and she can’t understand why she feels a connection to Vic. But boy does she fight it! Vic is trying to get another woman off of his mind, and he is interested in Laura the moment they meet. Laura doesn’t hesitate to push him away.

As in the first book, there is mystery and suspense, along with highly erotic sex scenes. There are several surprising details that come out not only with Vic and Laura, but other characters. It was helpful to read the prequel, to know some background on the characters, although I didn’t recall all of it when reading the first two books. But, it was helpful to return to it and there is a separate section for each of the main characters.

Ms. Hall writes characters that make you feel as if you know them. I felt the emotions of the characters, with the happy and the sad, and love and loss, and couldn’t flip the Kindle fast enough to see what would come next. The books are a nice length, enough to develop the characters and write a story that can be fast paced at times, with twists and turns. The writing is compelling and I can’t wait to read about the other characters, BUT, Vic is my favorite.

Ready for some BDSM? The Love Under Construction series continues with Vic and Laura's story. We know about Vic's problem with controlling his passion during his previous serious relationships. It should not surprise us that Vic is desperate to find a way to channel this powerful feeling he gets inside that ends up hurting his serious girlfriends.

Solution? Becoming a Dom with all it entails about control and using his energy to protect his sub while keeping himself in check. Steve McCoy is only too happy to help him as long as Vic agrees to be a service Dom in training. Can you imagine Vic as a Dom at 6 foot 8 inches of hunkiness?

Vic's interest in Laura has not dimmed. The more he interacts with her the more he wants to reach her. This is the beginning of a story about to explode with demons from the past, death threats, kidnappings, passion, and most of all thrills to keep any reader glued to this book.

I love this series. Plain and simple. One little peeve I have though (and it is little), is the length of the story. My preference would be to have all the obstacles and plot twists hit more closely together so that the emotional roller coaster does not go on and on. Call me silly but just as I was feeling secure that things were going to get better, more obstacles would arise. That is OK a couple of times, but when it happens several times in a row is like you want to say OK, just hit me with all the problems and let us deal with it once and for all. That is not real life... like I said, it is my peeve and I will get over it. This is seriously a wonderful series worth reading.

Bomb Specialist Laura Butler was the most cold hearten woman anyone could possible know. She was called the Ice Queen for a reason, and she was really good at it. Now one knew her reasons for being that way. That was her dirty secret. After suffering the vicious attack while deployed in Bosnia 17 years ago she had bottle up all her emotions and stayed away from everyone, until Vic Cabrizzi started to get under her skin little by little.

Vic Cabrizzi was a very gorgeous man that had suffered a great deal while he lived in his native Italy. When him and his mom landed on the Walters household he was welcome like he was one of his kids. Now in his early 50's Vic wanted what his cousin-brother Tony had a woman that would love him, but thanks to his dirty secret he knew he would never have that. Vic knew there was something about Laura that had him wanting to know more about her and help her come out of her ice shelter.

Vic and Laura have a lot of work to do in order for them to start working on a relationship. But is Laura willing to let Vic teach her how to love?

Will Vic let Laura know his dirty secret and let her show him the path of healing?

I LOVE Vic and Laura's story. You will learn how this two broken souls learn to heal. The love, loyalty, respect this two have for one another is incredible. This is a series with all the mail characters are in the prime of their lives.

I will recommend for you to read this incredible book and the series you will not be disappointed

Deanndra Hall does it again! Once again I was unable to put this book down. Even during the first book I was interested in Vic and this book just made me fall in love with him. Granted there were times that I wanted to slap him too! This book has everything that I have come to expect from Deanndra. There is mystery, tragedy, love, happiness, humor, and of course we can not forget the steamy scenes too! Every time I thought I knew what was going to happen in this book it took a completely different turn.

Vic is an amazing male lead and has so many layers that I did not see coming. There were times I wanted to slap him and also times where I wanted to pull him right out of the book and hide him from all the things that have happened to him.

Laura is the same way. She has suffered so much and to watch her grow and find herself is worth reading the story all on its own.

Then of course you have all the other characters that you have come to know in this series like Steve( not sure I really like him), Tony and Nikki , and the rest of the family too. The whole crazy bunch! I would highly recommend this book to anyone over the age of 18!

4.5 star

I was pulled right into this story. The story has pain, secrets, drama, action, suspense, twists & turns and steam.

If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first
The Groundbreaking (Love Under Construction 0.5)
Laying a Foundation (Love Under Construction #1)

This is Laura and Vic's story. Laura has secrets. She is dealing with a lot from her military days. She is no working through it just going through the motions of living. When her past comes for her she has to open up and reveal her secrets. Vic knew about some of her secrets as he saw some of her scars but she seems to hate him. Can he get her to understand he will protect her with his life? Or will she go on her own and deal with her problem? Can she trust that someone can love the person she is now scars and all? Or will she not have a future to worry about? What happens when Vic gets injured? Will she ever recover from what had to be done?

I loved these characters and also the side characters. I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book.

"Tearing Down Walls" (book 2 of the "Love Under Construction" series) is the "Vic and Laura" story. Vic is Tony's adopted cousin, who has an "issue" that is made clear and to me did not ring very true--at first. But I kept going, and was rewarded with a satisfying and sexy resolution. Laura has some pretty serious emotional and external scars that should not be under estimated (i.e. reader beware, her backstory is kind of harsh) and I think the only thing I didn't really buy into was the solidity of her backstory's narrative timeline. But honestly, by the time you are deep into the meat of this novel, it no longer matters. As an author, I can appreciate how emotionally Ms. Hall writes and believe that by the end of Tearing Down Walls I was feeling right along with her characters. If you enjoy a novel with a longer set up (as in the characters DON'T dive into the sack within the first few pages), plus a great supporting cast, AND enjoy extremely explicit and frequent sex scenes with overt BDSM elements, I highly recommend you pick up this series. Start with book one, to get the full effect. You won't be disappointed.

Deanndra has done it again. The Love Under Construction proves to leave one raw. I felt myself pulled through many emotions as I read about Vic and Laura's struggles. At one point I had to leave this story because it brought to surface emotions I've yet to deal with.

I love Tearing Down Walls because it's written so well that I can reflect to in my own life. I felt Vic's heart shatter as he fought for Laura but her own demons consumed her. Laura struggles to let go and let Vic In.

Vic on the other hand is a Service Dom uninterested in collaring anyone because his heart is set on Laura. He wants her but is scared of his past catching up to him and reliving it.

Tearing Down Walls will leave you in tears reading about Laura's struggle to get away from her past and Vic's desperate need to be with her. I will be reading more from Deanndra and with each book I read I fall more in love with her. If you like your erotic romance mixed with some heavy emotions then this is the book for you.

“‘You know, you’re even more beautiful when you’re laughing and smiling!’ Vic said, his eyes sparkling with tears of laughter. Then Laura did something that surprised them both. She kissed him.”

5 break down my walls stars!! Steamy hot!

If you are looking for a hot, dirty BDSM book, then this book is definitely for you!! Vic is sticky hot and did I mention he’s a DOM?? Oh yeah, even better!! You’ll fall in love with him the minute he steps onto the pages!!! His relationship with Laura is insane but you’ll love every single minute of it!! It’s a long book, but you will have a hard time putting your kindle down!!

What I love about this book is you can feel the love the author has for her characters and that makes for a great read filled with so much real emotion. I love all of the characters because you could not take any of them away from the story it takes them all to make this story complete. The same as the first book, Laying a Foundation, the sex is hot. I mean make you quiver and excited hot! There's more to it though, it's not just lust and sex. It's giving your self to someone completely and trusting them and putting someone before yourself. Undying love, friendship, and so much pain and fear. The author ties all of this in, in such a way that you are left feeling satisfied but long to know what is next for these people you have come to love. I am looking forward to Renovating a Heart, book 3 in the Love Under Construction series!! Deanndra Hall is one of the most talented authors I have ever read. Seriously if you can't tell yet.. .I love this book!!!

I have to say first off I got a copy of this for a honest review. That being said, I gave this 5 stars wishing i could give 7. This book her second in The love Under construction Series was much more believable and as such I was sucked in. I will not give out spoilers with my review.

The plot when it finally hits you is a great one and does hit on things that are happening now in the real world. I loved this book, It is more then worth the money and time to download. I have to say that when you think you figured it out .... there is a second plot in this story. I like the fact that you get a peek at the Leading man and lady after the villain is beaten.

Now, the bonus part of this story is that the writer actually seemed to know BDSM terms, and used them in such a way to make this a steamy hot romance novel with a wicked twist! Loved Steve's building!!!

Now, any book if its good will make you feel something hot lust, crying.. hate something, This book does that congrats!
