A fallen star split by a heavens sent weapon of destruction that ripped our soul into two immortal forms.
St. Nick, the good. Krampus, the evil.
The true definition of soulmates, we found comfort in each other for millennia until I met her and everything changed. But I was a fool to think I could ever be whole again with another person.
Betrayed by the two people I trusted the most, my heart aches with loneliness as I commit unforgivable crimes in my quest to feel something again…something besides pain.
Have I become the monster now?
I am St. Nick, but I am no saint.

Just a mom/nerd out in this crazy world writing smut.
My first romance book was a historical romance that I read in middle school. I didn't start reading smutty romance until I was in my 20's when a friend gave me my first dark romance.
I love writing beautifully flawed but strong female leads, diverse romantic situations, realistic body types, ethnically diverse, and queer characters.
"Magick and Malice" is my currently mostly sapphic romantasy series inspired by fairytales. All in KU. Happy reading!

This is a very unique and dark reimagining of Santa Claus and Krampus. I went into this blind but I am still surprised at the twists and turns in this story. My only gripe is that I wish it were longer. It’s a short novella and very fast paced, but somehow still does a good job summarizing the past events and depicting all the supporting characters in a way that makes it easy to connect with them.
That being said, I think this story would be 10x more amazing as a full length book. That would give more room to start Nick and Krampus’s story from the beginning, and get a more in-depth look at everything that happened. The HEA would be way more satisfying if we could feel a little more of the pain they went through to get there.
The flashback of Nick and Krampus was cool, but kinda random. Their relationship was eluded to well without the need of this flashback. I also did not like Nick’s need for meaningless sex… it was good, don’t get me wrong. This version of Santa can GET IT— but it was kinda sad and, frankly, it was misleading imo to focus so hard on Sara in the beginning.
I was not expecting a fatedmates trope but I’m happy for Nick, though I’m not convinced of Krampus’s mate. He’s gonna need his own book— k, thanks byeee! 😁
This story was unexpected! Granted I went in blind and only cause I saw “dark holiday romance with Santa & Krampus” so I totally thought we were gonna end up in an MMF situation… I was wrong!
5 POVs, abductions, a rescue mission, fated loves, found family?… there was so much happening!
Santa’s love “left him” for Krampus, and Santa tries to fill the void with others but no one is Helena and he is just lonely… meanwhile some elves try to get his love away from Krampus and back to Santa…
I loved the unexpected backstory or how Santa & Krampus came to be!
I think if this were longer (more back story & build up with Santa, Helena & Krampus) and not jump around so many POVs so quickly, it could definitely be a 5⭐️ read for me.
🌶️/5 So many different pairings of people on page… Santa has 3 (or 4 depending on how you view a self satisfying cuck), Krampus has 3… Santa & Krampus were lovers in the beginning so there is MM as well as MF there was ample scenes, but somehow not super spicy for me?! I dunno! 😂

I wanted to love it. It has the bones to be really cool. But there's just not enough backstory, you're just expected to know some things. Also, Nick isn't believable. He's set up to be this dark santa which sounds super cool and then he's really not. He's just a jerk whose heart was broken.
Also, the characters would flip flop personalities. She's evil, but not really, but wants the world to bur, but loves everyone. What?
And then in the end, the big reveal was sort of glanced over. It should have been much bigger, though it was super obvious.
Stephanie Lee delivers an interesting tale of St. Nick, Krampus and some of your favorites, Rudolph and Prancer. There's love and betrayal. Undercover sleuthing. What more do you need? Oh wait, there's plenty of sp1cy times too!! Be sure to check the TW at the front! I would recommend this story. I look forward to reading more from this author.
I won't be rating this one at this time. I had to DNF it at 26% I just wasn't feeling it and I don't think it's fair to rate and give a proper review until I've actually read it.
I'm marking this as really the wrong book at the wrong time. I will try again.
