Rate this book
The High School Edition of THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG addresses certain language and content challenges of the original and provides options to accommodate a variety of casting needs. THE From Mischief, Broadway masters of comedy, comes the smash hit farce. Welcome to opening night of the Cornley Drama Society’s newest production, The Murder at Haversham Manor, where things are quickly going from bad to utterly disastrous. This 1920s whodunit has everything you never wanted in a show—an unconscious leading lady, a corpse that can’t play dead, and actors who trip over everything (including their lines). Nevertheless, the accident-prone thespians battle against all odds to make it through to their final curtain call, with hilarious consequences! Part Monty Python, part Sherlock Holmes, this Olivier Award–winning comedy is a global phenomenon that’s guaranteed to leave you aching with laughter!

The Play that Goes Wrong is a fun play-within-a-play where literally everything that can go wrong does. This is the adaptation for high school productions. I've not read other versions, so cannot speak to whether or not vital bits have been retained or lost. I saw this version produced this year, too, and can say it was quite fun.

I simply adore this play and am so glad they released a version that eliminates the second story.
