Rate this book
Should the police investigate or celebrate the death of a notorious criminal defense attorney?Upon discovering the body of Sean Murphy (a Philadelphia lawyer equally renown for defending guilty criminals and seducing defenseless clients) his young associate, Andrew Sullivan, becomes the center of an intense criminal investigation. Although the police see the killer as a hero, their frustration mounts as truthful statements from Sean’s entire law firm prove elusive. The police focus on Drew when his girlfriend confesses to seeing him at the scene moments after the murder. While the detectives gather evidence to build a case against him, Drew must navigate the intrigue and deception of his own colleagues and sacrifice a promising romance to prove his innocence and uncover the truth before the killer claims another victim.

If you enjoyed Lisa Scottoline’s Accused, or Jeneva Rose’s A Perfect Marriage, you'll love this romantic legal thriller.

“An enjoyable and distracting romance, suspense, and betrayal intertwine effortlessly, and fans of this mid-brow mystery are likely to devour other books in this series.” ---Indie Review

I won this book in a goodreads drawing.

This book is billed as the first in the series, but I really couldn't tell who the star of the series was. Was it one of the lawyers? One of the cops? The chef?

A lawyer known for defending the worst criminals is murdered. The cops are actually pretty happy about it, as some criminals might actually make it behind bars now, and they hope one of his partners did it, so they can put another lawyer out of circulation. Meanwhile, there are a couple of romances, and a will reading.

The book itself is very readable, but the premise is unclear.
