Holly gave up her heart once before, to only be left devastated and abandoned. Now a single mother, her daughter is the most important person in her life. But she's often wondered if love will ever come her way.
Alex is the boy next door, full of life and fun. He loves his family and friends and is willing to do anything for them. Content in his life, until one day, his eyes clash with Holly's across a volleyball court. Drawn to her like a magnet, he immediately knew his life would never be the same.
Unfortunately, even in the beautiful town of Hanalei, Hawaii, times aren't always smooth sailing. Just when everything settles down, and they think it's finally their time, Alex devastates Holly by walking away.
Is there more to it than anyone knows? Has he been protecting Holly all along? Can these two love birds find their way back to each other? Or will everything go up in smoke?
Nalani Titcomb was born and raised on the beautiful Islands of Hawaii. She’s a single mother to an amazing son, whom she says is her greatest accomplishment. Family and faith are most important to her. Nalani began her writing journey after Hawaii went into its second complete lockdown during the Covid19 pandemic and self-published her first book, The Dark Side of Paradise, in 2020.
This is the third book in the Hanalei series, and I loved it just as much as the previous two. In this book, the romance blossoming between Holly and Alex is suddenly shattered when Alex is forced to make a sacrifice to protect the lives of Holly and her five-year-old daughter. Thankfully, his friends have his back, and after a harrowing adventure, this close-knit band of heroes jumps in to help save the day. As with the previous two books, I was captivated by the action and imagery the author weaves into her stories. I love how all the characters interact, backing each other up in a way that makes their connection authentic and heartwarming. The bond Alex has with the adorable Jessica stole my heart. There’s less romance than I’d have liked, but the chemistry between the main characters is tangible throughout the book. I recommend reading the previous two books to get a better grasp of who the other characters are and how they factor into the story. I can’t wait to see what Nalani Titcomb comes up with next. I received and advance review copy of this book and my review is voluntary.
Alex is here!!! Holly Queen, is the perfect Queen for Alexander. Ohhh I love them so much. Their love is everything and the romance here is so sweet and perfect. Holly is amazing, definitely and Jessica is the most cutest girl. Alex for protect all the people he love is capable of anything, my heart ache for him, for them. Nalani makes me cry at some point, firefighters… Their HEA is so romantic, and perfect. A & H Forever. Can’t wait for Nick, he doesn’t want to catch the bug as well, but I hope he catches soon hahaha.
This was a great read! Great for the beach and summer and all things warm!! It was a quick read, part of a series but you didn’t have to read the others, a bit of slowburn romance. Alex and Holly were great can’t wait to see if they pop up in more stories because there is definitely more characters in the town of Hanalei to explore in my opinion.
Nalani thanks for writing Alex his own story ;) Holly a single mother who was already broken but learned to open her heart again to someone. And then Alex a real man works construction a friend you can count on and that person who opened Holly's heart again. they've finally found each other, but Alex is strained by events at his yard. He wants Holly to be safe!!! This book has Action, Passion, Murder, Friendship and Love This book is definitely recommended!!!
This one was a quick read. The story is focused on Alex and Holly whose relationship has just begun and honestly just as quickly ended. Alex ends the relationship in an attempt to protect Holly, but will she find out before it's too late? Will he ever be able to save his relationship? Will Holly forgive him and give him another chance? This is the romance plot of the book, but in my opinion the book is less of a romance than I would have liked. The entirety of the book is focused on Alex working to protect Holly from gang related violence because of something he uncovers on his work site, and at times it feels like the romance element of the book takes a back burner to this narrative. Nalani Titcomb creates a background for each of her characters that involves some crazy elements of trauma and violence. Yet, these background narratives hardly play into the story other than loosely connecting to a character who is mentioned only twice. At times the stories surrounding the characters seemed like they should have been separate novels so that they could be explored without feeling rushed or just randomly mentioned by Alex's character throughout the narrative as his motivation for seeking to protect Holly. At times the characters felt a little artificial and not very relatable or likable and then you would be given this intense backstory and think more was coming but it wasn't there. I wish this book had been labeled as something other than a romance because then I think I could have given it a slightly more positive review. As it stands I spent most of the reading wondering where the romance was and confused by the extra background narratives given to the characters. It was well written but felt a little rushed at the end. However, if you like romance stories with more to them then you should check out this book.
I have received an advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for my fair and honest review. Thank you for the eARC!
I am going to be up front - I did not know this was one of multiple in the story line before reading it, so I was a little lost at some parts. However, that did not stop this from being a cute story!
In the beginning, I was pretty confused because all of this information about kidnappings and gangs and family relations was being thrown out at once. But I gathered pretty quickly that this was part of a multiple book set.
This book was really good. I thought the romance moved kind of fast (but could also be from not reading the other books) but it made complete sense to the plot. I could also understand Alex’s reasons for everything, and for once understood the justification of lying to your partner! I hate the miscommunication and lying tropes, but in this book it actually made sense to me.
Some of the character mannerisms were kind of annoying, but I got over pretty fast. Sweetness is not the cutest nickname in the world to me, but that’s more personal.
I really enjoyed the side friendships outside of the relationship. The boys group seemed especially close knit, which I really appreciated, For jumping into this series pretty late, I really enjoyed all of the side characters a lot.
This book had so much going on. It was like a real novela: hawaii edition. Gangs and Molotov Cocktails and goat heads were a lot, but definitely kept the book interesting.
Overall, for not reading the other books, this one was pretty good! It was fast paced and enjoyable, but pretty far-fetched with some of the stuff going on. It reminded me of like season 5 of a show that was going a little off of the rails, but that’s okay! It still makes for good drama and interested readers. I also loved the main couple, so that helped out a lot too!
I'm struggling to give this a star rating because I haven't read Moonlight in Hanalei and Sunset in Hanalei, which I think negatively impacted my reading experience. While they all can technically be read as standalones, I still prefer to read books like these in order. I feel like the background information provided for the characters, especially past tragic events relating to Kai and Jessica, was really missed for me. I would have rather read about it in current time in the other books and went into this already knowing these characters and their pasts and experiences.
Having said that, though, I still enjoyed this book! Alex is a sweetheart and I love the relationship between him and Holly. It was interesting to have their relationship already started/established from the very beginning of the book (but this also could have been established in the past two books). I loved the found family interconnections between the characters (one of my favorite tropes)!
I was a little disappointed at the lack of spice, but that's my personal preference. The resolution felt kind of quick and easy, but I may be used to more dark romances where people get into brutal fights/people are murdered...I do wish there would have been more mother-daughter scenes between Holly and Jessica. Some of the dialogue read a bit forced and awkward, and there were moments where the writing style told a lot more than showed.
Overall though, I still really enjoyed reading this. I do plan to go back and read the other books to get a better understanding of some plot points mentioned in this book and to know the characters better! I think I'll settle on a 3.5-4 star but it could increase after reading the other two books!
Loved it! I'd been waiting for Alex and Holly's book ever since I saw them together in book 2 of this series, and I was so happy to read about them!
Tbh, this book is different from the other two, in the sense that it starts off with them together, and then they're broken up for like 70% of the book and then they get back together. It was a good plot, but I'm just mentioning this coz I was surprised. I do hate angsty breakups, but Alex did have an unfortunately valid reason to break up with Holly :P I wasn't too fond of the "women will forgive anything" line thrown around a couple of times, and there were times I wished Alex had actually spoken to Holly about his troubles instead of cutting her out, but I'm gonna still forgive him coz the hea was extremely sweet :)
Also, fingers crossed that the author writes more books set in Hanalei? I'm not ready to leave this place :'')
“You feel like home to me. You’re my sweetest hello and my toughest goodbye.”
The boy next door falls in love with the single mom who has already been through a ringer. Holly goes out on a limb and takes a leap of faith when she falls in love with Alex and everything is perfect for one day until he walks away unexpectedly. Alex is in danger and leaves Holly to protect her but was that the right decision. Will he survive the danger and if he does, will she forgive him? The setting is in Hanalei, Hawaii and I would love to see this on TV for the background alone! The romance is sweet like candy, clean and so heartwarming. It is definitely a smutty HEA that leaves you with all those happy, gushy vibes. If you love romance and need a break from the spice, this one is for you! There is some steam, some smut, and a lot of love.
I don't know where to being. This story is amazing. I loved it so much. But honestly I love all of Nalani books so I can't complain.
This is the third book of the series and I honestly I'm not sure which book of the series I loved more.
This is a perfect read if you need something that catches your attention on a nice Sunday evening.
This book had me want to more. It was sweet romance story filled with all the feelings and emotions. This book filled with some suspeful in it that grab my attention. The family connection between the characters where amazing. How they were there for each other when then need help.
There is so many amazing part to this story that I couldn't honestly pick just one. But this story so good, well written, and have you on the edge of seet.
There is something terrible going on at the construction site that Alex owns. Terrible danger. Alex and Holly are falling in love and he turns her away to protect her from the danger. Perilous things keep happening to him until they find the culprit behind all the misfortunes. I liked this story but it kind of leaves you hanging as to why Alex is singled out for the accidents and arson that takes place. It is never really explained, why him? I would have given a five star if that was explained at all.
I received this book as an Arc and am leaving a review voluntarily.
Forever in Hanalei by Nalani Titcomb ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫/5 🧼 Alex and Holly have both been through trials but, now that they have found each other they feel complete. When unexpected events start happening at Alex’s job site he must decide to take a risk with Holly’s safety or he must walk away. If you love Hallmark Movies with a dash of suspense this book and series is for you! Reading the series has made me want to pack my bags and fly to Hawaii! 😉
Another great read by Nalani Titcomb! There is so much romance between Holly and Alex, and they are a perfect example of a couple that survives challenges stronger than ever on the other side.
Holly, Alex, and their beautiful love story began in Book2 for me... So I waited impatiently to get my paws on this book... It definitely did not disappoint...
I devoured the book in one sitting, and I loved Book3 as much as the first two books... This book was special to me... I could feel Holly's emotions, trusting not just her heart, but her baby with Alex... (Batty was in my life before his Dad became part of our family.)
I love this series... And I love the found family dynamic that is the steel thread that runs through the series connecting all the books...

Oh my! Where to begin? I did not put it down from beginning to end!
Holly is a gorgeous single mother whose little girl Jessica is delightful. There past is full of twists and turns and they so deserve a special someone of their own.
All I can say about Alex is... He takes everything to the next level...
I love Nalani Titcomb's spinning of the drama, the chaos, the twists and turns you just won't see coming.
Oh, and bring along a tissue box. It will all be ok in the end, just remember... HEA guaranteed.
What are you waiting for?
I was most grateful to receive an advanced review copy from the author, and am so excited to share my thoughts with you. It's definitely getting ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ from me!
