I will like to give this book a five star but because one specific scene, I can’t and i do not like that so much! 😂😂

The first scene of the heroine, like HER FIRST POV, she was fvcking someone else. Not too specific detailed was written but it was enough saying she definitely fvcking some guy 😂 LIKE SERIOUSLY HER FIRST POV????? 😅😅😅 It was unexpected and unpleasant… BUT REGARDLESS of that, the heroine and hero love story is safe, hot and amazing tho… Usually the hero do that but this one was from the heroine so it caught me by surprise 😆 Thankfully the hero did not do that! If the two of them have that scene then for sure I won’t be reading this book 😆😆🤣 And the second thing that made me give it only four stars because the hero after the heroine push him away for the first time, some waitress tries to flirt with him and he even thought it was okay cause then he can stop thinking about the heroine 🙄 But when the woman said “getting some more ink?” The hero immediately don’t want the woman and said “And now the thought of letting anyone else put ink on my skin makes it crawl.”. He walked away and something like that never ever happens again…
as always, this book from the beginning till the end there’s a lot of s3x scene 😋😋 Just like the series or the first book of the series, the s3x scenes was a lot!!! 😙😙

SOOO THE STORY STARTS with the heroine and hero already know each other back when the hero still in another band in the past before the current band right now. But it was only a one night stand… Then they meet again during the after party of the hero’s band cause the hero’s best friend who also in the band is the heroine’s best friend’s fiancé… When the hero saw the heroine and helped her out cause she was falling, THE HERO IMMEDIATELY FOLLOW HER. Like really do follow her even when she told him to not follow her and stop! 🤣 “And I swear I try really hard not to follow her, but the woman is magnetic with her swaying hips and inked skin so smooth I can already feel it beneath my hands, as she passes people and squeezes between the other patrons to evade me. I’m pushing through the maze of bodies before I even realize my boots have moved, and tail the woman like a predator locked onto its prey.” OH AND THE HERO REALLY DID CHASE HER AND PURSUE HER SINCE THE FIRST DAY🔥❤️❤️ Then they kissed (the hero kissed first okay) and almost hook up… But they stopped and when the hero comes back after cleaning himself in the heroine’s shop, the heroine was gone… She basically left him 😂 After that, the hero booked a hotel near at the heroine’s store for the weekend cause he wants to see her again… After that night, the hero can’t stop thinking about the heroine and even already imagining her sweet body… And he also really pursue her so much to where he make sure he had to see her again and again… She became his ultimate obsession. And that when the story begins!

ARC Review. Thank you to The Author Agency and author Rae Stone for the advanced copy of this book. This is the second book in the “As Above” series. I had not read the first book before reading this one. This book is high on emotion and delves in to some darker topics. The main characters, Cedar and Fin, go through major emotional development in this book. I did feel a bit disconnected from some of the side characters, probably not knowing their background from book 1 (which I have added to my TBR). At times I struggled to follow Cedar’s train of thought/emotion, she was on a roller coaster, which was also felt by Fin. When I got close to 80% complete I felt like the main plot had been resolved but Rae brought some more suspense that I didn’t anticipate to round it out. The book is written from dual POV but includes a few chapters from side characters which I enjoyed. I always love when the title of the book is explained/defined and this one didn’t disappoint. I’m going to back track to book 1 and await the rest of the series!

While I much preferred book one (‘the moment’), I still enjoyed this rockstar, sort-of second chance, romance. Fin and Cedar certainly spiced things up, with plenty of push and pull as their strong, fiery personalities clashed. Furthermore, the FMC had to overcome some traumatic history to be able to feel safe enough to settle into a relationship. But there were a few loose ends, and while this story was told in multi-POV, we got barely anything of Fin’s back story, nor what he’d thought during a pivotal prologue moment, and that felt like quite an oversight. I also wished for more of the MCs spending time together, with the ending feeling a bit rushed and distant. Lastly, I spotted a few errors in spelling and grammar that should have been picked up in proofreading.

The Rush is a contemporary romance novel with complex characters dealing with past trauma amongst moments of humor and great chemistry between a rockstar and a tattoo artist. Finland Montgomery is the lead guitarist of his band. He is also a playboy and uber-confident. Cedar Jones is an amazing tattoo artist full of sass (and even some more sass).
They met when they were “younger” in passing when he was playing in a different band. Years later Cedar’s best friend is engaged to Fin’s friend and bandmate; putting them in each other’s orbits. Fin doesn’t remember Cedar like she remembers him.
That didn’t stop Fin from being drawn to Cedar when he saw her at the bridal shower for Aria. Cedar runs from him, and he chases.
Cedar is most assuredly not interested in being around Fin in any way, but Fin is 100% interested in her. He repeatedly tries to find ways to be in front of her.
Fin's determination to win Cedar over despite not knowing all the pieces of who she was yet; and Cedar's strength and independence, added depth and complexity to the characters and their journey.
I loved that the “Hot Shot” himself, Mr. Finland Montgomery fell first. He portrayed possessiveness and protectiveness that I truly appreciated. I love a possessive alpha male!
“She’s so damn cute it makes my heart hurt.”
Cedar's down-to-earth, imperfect personality made her a relatable and admirable character. Sometimes I found her to be too hardheaded and I wanted her to give him a chance, but hey beggars can’t be choosers.
Everything about these two felt like it was so powerful in its impact on their romance story.
The use of witty banter and the dynamics with side characters like the band members and friends added a lot of charm and humor to their story. They provided moments of levity and balance to the more serious themes.
(Not that Cedar and Fin didn’t crack me up enough all on their own, because they absolutely did, but I always love when side characters add to the story instead of taking something away. Rae did a great job with the whole crew).
The “spice” was HOT, HOT, HOT. I loved him calling her sweetness or sweat. It is a unique and distinctive pet name that will always be remembered as it added a special touch to the more romantic aspect of their story.
“Sweetness, I could live off of your p*ssy for the rest of my life.”
Overall, this is a fantastic read. I highly recommend this to those who love a sexy, full-of-himself Rockstar and a badass tattoo artist with a no-nonsense approach to life.

It’s like Paola and Lizzie McGuire but SOOO much better. She knew who she was and was unapologetic for it. One hell of a best friend to Aria (AND HER BIRTH🥹🥹🥹) THE TATTOOS AND PIERCING 🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵 My ooooonly thing is she let fuckface have so much control over her after he was gone from her life (well mostly gone). Trauma is so hard to convey and work through I just…it was too much for me at times.

He doesn't know what she's been through in her past, why she jumps when she's touched, and why she always has a bat handy for protection, but he really, really wants to know all these things and more. His swaggering confidence and persistence, coupled with his rockstar appeal, just might charm her, if he has his way.
Fin and Cedar are rockstar romance gold. She's sassy and strong, but thinks she's broken. He's a typical rockstar all sex appeal and confidence, who falls hard, falls first for the only woman to not throw herself at him. There is a whole secondary cast that is begging for their own stories, and actually it's here where the only part of the story appeared that I was unsure of, as they obviously had a connection forged in the first book, which I didn't read, so I felt out of the loop throughout the story. Still, though, I like this story and Fin and Cedar's sizzling chemistry. My favorite part though? Her dad and how he got the last scene in the story, I'm hoping this means his own story is coming.

OMG! Maam @raestone_ you wrote a literal masterpiece Am gonna need to get this “AS ABOVE SERIES” books both of them cauz I have never loved a female character like I love Cedar at the moment!
So this book is about an FMC (Cedar) whose a tattooist and an MMC (Fin) who is a rockstar/guitarist! I probably fell harder for the book and the characters probably cauz am a performer/ singer and i love tattoos so much; hence i personally felt so connected to the story.
Cedar effortlessly strong; so brave and To top it all a TATTOIST …I love and then goes ahead and fights her way through an abusive relationship that almost broke her… btw F*** Jeremy, and his death btw -well deserved🤐
And then finds love and a man who cherishes and cares for her - I LOVE FIN so much; a Rockstar who’s so dedicated to making Cedar feel safe and loved🥰
Fin falling so hard and not hiding or trying to be mild about it was a whole mood.
Peach, Rex and Ari were the best bodyguard, sibling and bestfriends ever.
Rex and Ari- this two will make the best parents ever for their twins. Not to mention they were already taking care of Fin and Cedar; Protecting her and standing up for her just as parents would their kids- I absolutely adore them.
Also naming their kids after Fin and Cedar and going as far as making them both the kids Godparents; GENIUS🥰🔥
Am so happy that despite Rex and Ari being supporting roles their characters also kindof got a happy ending. One that had me smiling so hard….

Book Review: Just finished The Rush by Rae Stone! It was sooo good! I loved the story! Cedar is a hardheaded, stubborn, and emotionally fragile from an abusive ex. She doesn’t see how much she is worthy for love, affection, and connection to the people in her lives she keep them at arm’s length feeling unworthy after all the gaslighting and abuse she endured. Fin oh my dear sweet Fin!!! Please come call me sweetness anytime you want! He is a perfect mix of confidence and uncertainty when it comes to Cedar she has so many walls and he is in uncharted waters. The hospital scene at the end 🔥🔥🔥🔥🌶️🔥🌶️🌶️. But his perseverance and determination with the sweet slow burn 🔥 is amazing. There are heavy topics in the book and being someone who has a similar experience to Cedar I really related to her seeing when I once was to now after therapy and working on it even though years later I have my hard days made me appreciate how far I’ve come. The story is technically a stand alone but there is a book one that ties in to this book and I am definitely going to go back and read it. Definitely worth reading this book you won’t be disappointed! I literally stayed up into the wee small hours of the morning to find out what was happening next and then my one more chapter turned into almost half the book done and it’s 3am 😮

This book was my first Rae Stone book! The rush is the second book in the series and due to other ARC’s I had, I didn’t get time to read the first book but didn’t feel lost while reading this without the first, always a plus!
This book was full of Rockstar vibes, tattoo’s, angst and healing from trauma! Fin and Cedar met when she was younger and he was in a band she loved. Fast forward to the future and Cedar’s best friend is engaged to the singer of the same band that Fin is now in. Due to Cedar’s best friends wedding, Cedar and Fin keep bumping into each other. Cedar is doing her best to stear clear of Fin but Fin is determined to make Cedar see him.
I feel like Cedar is a character that people can relate to. I wish it hadn’t taken her so long to come around but sometimes in life we can be stubborn. Fin was a determined man. I feel like the humor in this book was really good and just right! I love a moody story but I really love it when you have moments of light and laughter and Rae did a great job with that.
The Spice in this story was sooo good. The chemistry, banter and the fact that they were relatable I felt helped with the spice of it too. Its always great too when its dual point of view too because we love to know how they’re both feeling!
Definitely recommend and cannot wait to read the first book. I cannot thank Rae Stone enough for letting me read this ARC and look forward to all that is to come from her in the future!

I have not read a rockstar romance in a long time, and this was nothing like the ones that I have read in the past- it was MUCH better! I was enticed right from the summary of the book- their names Finland and Cedar were interesting and not names that are commonly used which I loved!
I truly feel like this wasn't exactly like rockstar romances that I have read so this was truly a nice switch from the ones that I have read in the past. We have a badass tattooist FMC, who is learning to heal after a terrible relationship, and a rockstar MMC, who is learning to be a good man for the FMC.

I have not read a rockstar romance in a long time, and this was nothing like the ones that I have read in the past- it was MUCH better! I was enticed right from the summary of the book- their names Finland and Cedar were interesting and not names that are commonly used which I loved!
I truly feel like this wasn't exactly like rockstar romances that I have read so this was truly a nice switch from the ones that I have read in the past. We have a badass tattooist FMC, who is learning to heal after a terrible relationship, and a rockstar MMC, who is learning to be a good man for the FMC.

This was my first Rae Stone book and definitely will not be my last! This is the 2nd book in the As Above series, but I have not read the 1st yet. They can be read as standalones!
This was also my first rockstar romance and I'm hooked! Finn is a broody rockstar and Cedar is a badass tattooist. Their chemistry was off the charts, but Cedar has past traumas she needed to work through.
I wasn't able to put this down once I started. I was hooked! I love the way that Cedar worked through her past traumas and the emotional development. I also loved the energy of touch her and die. Both from Finn, friends, and Cedar's dad. The way everyone worked together was *chef's kiss*
Read this ASAP! You will not regret it.

I love a good rockstar romance and The Rush did not disappoint. This read was filled with some spice, a strong-willed and stubborn FMC, and the hot playboy MMC. As they navigate their journey, they begin to heal and work through their own struggles in relationships whether that be from a past abusive relationship or from internal conflicts. This was given to me to read as an ARC and it is a standalone second book in a series. The banter and the dynamic between to two main characters was great and I felt like Rae Stone did a great job with leaning into the tropes without being too kitschy about them. I didn’t get to read the first one prior to reading the Rush but I will definitely be going back to read it.

Truly a rush!
Ok I see you Rae!! I really liked Rex, but I’m swooning hard for Fin! Gah, he’s the perfect blend of all the things love: protective yet caring, irresistible & the S appeal like none-other, loves his found family fiercely, not afraid to speak it like it is, a little emotionally conflicted, funny, yet squeamish of blood (hahaha).
Cedar is equally matched to his music. She’s been through hell and back with scars that aren’t just surface deep. She’s jumpy, untrusting, skin thick as steel, yet emotionally vulnerable when she allows one in (which is not many people at all). She’s been broken down one too many times and feels undeserving of something meaningful.
Their chemistry is scorching and their story is a little second chance in there. I loved how they constantly warred with one another to not give in and they really had to work for that HEA, but their journey is real and really showed honestly and self reflection.
He’s a guitar rock god and she’s a top tattoo artist with a wild streak and I couldn’t get enough of them!
The Rush is best read after The Moment due to some huge spoilers.

The Rush is the second book in the As Above series by Rae Stone. It's a rockstar romance. This is the first book I've ever read by this author, and I am in love! I mean, where has this author been all my life, and why am I just now finding her books? Excellent read!
Cedar and Fin's chemistry was off the charts! I practically had to fan myself every time they even looked at each other! This book is exactly what a rockstar romance should be, and I loved every single word of it! I will definitely be going back to read the first one in this series, but in the meantime, this one is highly recommended with a million stars!

This was an emotional and gritty rollercoaster ride from start to finish. I was instantly drawn into Cedar and Fin’s journey that was filled with healing, forgiveness, passion and love.
Cedar and Fin have an intense connection that grows into something so much more than either of them expected. They go through a lot of ups and downs with spicy back and forth banter. They made me laugh and gush with love over them both.
Overall, this was a very entertaining and enjoyable story that was well written. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Fin and Cedar are delicious, and I'll take no arguments.
Cedar has been thru the wringer with things she won't even tell her friends, has fought her way back but isn't ready to open her heart again... but Fin isn't going down without a fight and is determined to get our little tattooed biker princess to let him in. I loved this so much

Let me tell you this is one of those stories that as soon as you pick it up you cannot put it down. I absolutely loved all of the characters in this one. It slowly draws you in and then you are hooked! Would definitely recommend for others to read.- Tasha

I love Stone's writing. The spice and the musical elements are always superb.

I really liked this one, actually. There's a whole lot of chaos, but underneath it there is this gorgeous story of healing and love. Fin is a famous rockstar who has a great heart underneath his bad boy, heavily tatted exterior. He always shows up for Cedar and is really thoughtful with her. Slowly he chips away at her walls and shows her what it is to have someone in their corner. Cedar is a baddy tattoo artist still traumatized by her abusive ex and keeps everyone at a distance. She's had a crush on Fin since she followed his first band, but doesn't let him near her. It becomes difficult though when his bandmate is getting married to her bestie.
My struggle was with Cedar and how quickly everything wraps up. Cedar's inner monologue was so chaotic and back and forth that I got whiplash. I couldn't even follow her thought processes sometimes. There was also so much going on and I think it could have been fleshed out more.
