When an opportunity arises to work for Natalie Keane, Taylor jumps at the chance—even before knowing the details of the assignment.
Natalie knows this could work: Taylor, the bodyguard, masquerading as her girlfriend. The perfect cover story. But as circumstances push the two women closer, the lines between fantasy and reality begin to blur.
Rachel Lacey is an award-winning contemporary romance author and semi-reformed travel junkie. She's been climbed by a monkey on a mountain in Japan, gone scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef, and camped out overnight in New York City for a chance to be an extra in a movie. These days, the majority of her adventures take place on the pages of the books she writes. She lives in the mountains of Vermont with her family and a variety of rescue pets.
Nonsensical read! I did try with this 2nd book even though there's a story here somewhere --- BUT i don't have any inkling as to what i was reading or read (sorry R.L. fan-base!) My rating is for effort!
Remember Taylor, Eden Sands’ bodyguard in Stars Collide? After a back injury forced her to step down from the job, she’s ready to go back to work just when out actress Natalie Keane needs added security in the form of a fake girlfriend.
I loved everything about this audiobook. I was really excited for Taylor’s story and Natalie is another lovely character. Both women carry emotional wounds from completely different experiences that make them relationship-shy and perfect for each other at the same time.
Rachel Lacey is a wonderfully reliable author, whose stories are always engaging, with characters who are consistently lovable in all their imperfections, and super sweet pets, in this case two endearing dogs and an adorable kitten. I look forward to Lacey’s books because I know that I will be entertained and that my heart will be full by the end of the story. They’re the definition of heartwarming, comfort books. As a character-driven/mood reader, I don’t read Lacey’s books when I’m in the mood for my brain to be blown or my heart to be broken, I read them when I feel like a hug. When I want the kind of feeling cuddling a baby animal would give me. They’re far from being all fluff and carefree romance—in Cover Story, Natalie lives in constant fear because of a stalker, Taylor worries about her future since she injured her back—but they’re so full of love, tenderness, and hope that these are the emotions they leave behind, despite the trials the characters have to overcome.
And then there’s Quinn Riley’s narration. Riley’s energy and her musical, clear voice fit Rachel Lacey’s universe and characters perfectly. A brilliant combination for an uplifting listen. 4.5⭐️

4,5⭐️ How can anyone ever feel safe again after being stalked in the worst possible way? That's exactly Natalie Keane's problem. As one of Hollywood's most successful and recognizable actresses, it's impossible to go unrecognized in Hollywood, and with a new threat, she feels like she's at the mercy of others. But just another bodyguard would again attract too much attention and raise questions, she doesn’t want to answer. The perfect cover story? Yep, a bodyguard disguised as the girlfriend.
Taylor, who was relegated to office work for a few months after a stupid accident and a back injury, finally wants to do field work again. She has been a bodyguard for various stars for several years and is desperate for this job even before she knows how unusual the request is.
Natalie's situation is quite heartbreaking. Instead of enjoying her life, she lives in fear and is, literally, locked up in a golden castle and lonely. But letting Taylor into her home and being restricted in her privacy is also not easy, but necessary. Taylor, who from the beginning can see behind her facade and see the real Natalie Keane, slowly helps her move forward step by step and fight her traumas.
Playing a fake girlfriend sounds easier than it is. It was hilarious how awkward the two of them acted at the beginning. It is obviously not so easy to let go of the deep-rooted bodyguard attitude Taylor has acquired over the years. They have great chemistry, the attraction is strong, and fighting it is ultimately pointless, and the love scenes are hot.
Rachel Lacey does a great job and expresses so many feelings and emotions, that her stories go to the heart. It must be extremely liberating for Natalie to feel safe again for the first time with Taylor by her side. She has to learn to trust her and to open up to her. Taylor, on the other hand, wonders if a star like Natalie can love someone like her. Showing vulnerability when it comes to feelings and health problems is something that no bodyguard finds easy. All this is wrapped up in a heart-warming love story, peppered with humor, good dialogue, interesting backstories, and accompanied by well-integrated side characters. And not to forget, the furry friends who play an important role too. A fake girlfriend and celebrity romance that you will love.

3.5. In 'Cover Story,' Natalie, an A-list actress, navigates a challenging experience with a fan-turned-stalker, accompanied by a sapphic romance and a female bodyguard. While I enjoyed this book, nothing special really stood out for me. Enjoyed both characters, storyline with the stalker was meh. The romance was a slow-burn and sweet. Once introduced to Noelle, I couldn’t help thinking the rest of the story, “I WANT NOELLE’S STORY!”. Hopefully there is a book for her, fingers crossed! I received a copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I wanted to kick 2024 off with a bang and figured what better way to do that than with a Rachel Lacey book, and I was absolutely correct. This celebrity/bodyguard romance was exactly what I was looking for. From the attraction to the vulnerability to the suspense, I could not put it down. Don’t miss out on this incredible book’s release March 26th. Fingers crossed for Noelle’s story in the future.
Thank you to Rachel Lacey and the publisher for an arc in exchange for an honest review.
Cover Story is a sweet charming story about an actress falling in love with a bodyguard posing as her girlfriend.
The story puts a lot of time into developing the actress’ character — Natalie — and the way that she deals with the trauma of having been kidnapped by a stalker 10 years ago. This paid off, as I found that it did a great job of handling her problems in a sensitive way while critiquing the invasive nature of Hollywood.
As for Taylor, I loved the perspective put on her love for her family and facing recovery from her back injury.
I was initially interested in how both of these characters would come together and overcome their internal battles. But unfortunately, I couldn’t get invested because I felt that this book fell short for me in terms of conflict and tension.
This is partly due to the fact that I personally found the writing style stilted and disconnected. There is a lot of “this” then “that” then “this” to it. I previously mentioned that we see a lot about the characters’ internal conflicts, but we don’t really see it but are rather told it outright, if that makes sense.
Rather than being described a scene, or the way that a character truly feels, it just skips to “A” is feeling “this”, and “B” notices because it’s obvious. In that exact sentence format. There is little difference in it no matter the POV, which made it hard at some points to identify whether we were in Natalie or Taylor’s POV.
Similarly, there are a lot of time jumps where we miss out on scenes where the characters are meant to be bonding. A lot of it just happened off-page.
Due to this, I struggled to believe that they were truly falling in love with one another. I couldn’t pinpoint any romantic chemistry between them beyond them initially finding each other physically attractive.
Aside from the lack of romantic tension, I also felt that there wasn’t much tension in terms of the whole “forbidden fake dating” aspect.
The whole situation about what Taylor did to get the job is barely relevant. Them dating is not forbidden by Taylor’s company and never becomes a conflict. In fact, a bunch of characters are told of the fake dating situation outright, with barely any reaction to it, which made it lose even more tension.
In summary, though this book featured interesting perspectives, I failed to find myself invested in the characters or the romance.
Still, I am grateful to NetGalley for providing me with this eARC in exchange for my honest review.
Friends. OOMGGG.. I swooned so hard over Taylor. Like I'm just smitten with her. This book was everything I hoped it would be and more. Rachel Lacey just keeps getting better and better. Star Collide was such a fantastic read and I had very high hopes for this one. Lacey 100% delivered with Natalie and Taylor.
I'm LOVING celebrity romances right now and Lacey is just knocking this trope out of the park. I'm just still sparkling over it. The chemistry between Taylor and Natalie is just wonderful. The push and pull between the two was fantastic. She also tackled some pretty heavy topics, like Natalie's trauma, in a very real and compassionate way.
What else did I love?! UHHH the dogs and the kitten. Fur babies are just the BEST!! I loved Taylor's parents and Natalie's bestie. I loved Natalie's love for astronomy and her guarding her safe space. This was just a great book! This is a sloooow burn but it heats up very, very nicely. I just really enjoyed watching these two warm up to each other. It's a glorious journey.
Thank you to Rachel Lacey for an ARC of this wonderful novel!
Natalie Keane has a picture perfect life, a successful career in acting, a gorgeous home, adoring fans. However, behind closed doors she is a different person. Ever since she was stalked and kidnapped 8 years ago she has jumped at every noise, wary of every shadow. So when her life is potentially put in danger once again she will stop at nothing to ensure her safety. Even if that means pretending her new bodyguard Taylor is her girlfriend. The closer they grow though, the easier it may be to lie…until the only person she’s lying to is herself.
Taylor Vaughn is no stranger to danger as resident bodyguard to the stars. And after three months of desk duty from a back injury she is ready to get back into the field. So when a position opens up for A-lister Natalie Keane she can’t help but jump at the chance. However, as the charade continues Taylor starts to realize what she feels for Natalie may be more than a professional concern for her safety. Will they be able to let their guards down and accept the love they both deserve? Or will fears and anxieties from their pasts keep them from truly exploring their feelings? Celebrity relationships and fake dating have met their ultimate match in, Covery Story.
What a beautiful slow burn romance. Rachel Lacey consistently does an amazing job of creating relationships that feel real. And recently I’ve seen more lust than love in some of the books getting a ton of hype. Which is amazing and I love that but I sometimes miss the genuine feelings of connection that I found in this book. Their chemistry is the perfect example of why taking the time to really develop a relationship pays off.
Natalie is a tough nut to crack and with good reason. She has untreated PTSD stemming from her attack and even before that was an introvert. Naturally it would be grossly against her personality to immediately jump into a romantic or sexual relationship. So when Natalie does start to open up it means more because you know what it took for her to get there. Which lends itself to a mature and well thought out romance between them.
Not to negate the spice though as the premise of Taylor being Natalie’s bodyguard is beyond hot. Taylor’s desire to protect Natalie’s phyiscal and emotional wellbeing sets the stage for some serious hot under the collar moments. And consent!! So much enthusiastic consent was present when they did get under the sheets. Not to mention their conversations flowed at a realistic pace. They didn’t info dump all their trauma two seconds after meeting. They took their time and got to know each other until they felt comfortable enough being vulnerable. Which made me swoon!!
The characterization was on point here. I’ve already touched on Natalie’s introversion but Taylor is a caregiver at heart so the things she does for Natalie feel natural, rather than just trying to get something from her. The portrayal of Natalie’s PTSD also felt genuine and showcased how much one incident can completely derail your life, especially if you don’t get the necessary help. And there was no one “i’m cured moment”, which always makes me want to slam the book shut. This story let Natalie work things out on her own time and with help from Taylor and a therapist I have no doubt that she would eventually have almost complete relief of her symptoms.
Obviously romances are more character focused and utilize familiar tropes because that’s what readers want with the genre. And this book delivered a fun, flirty and fresh take on the workplace/fake dating tropes. The stakes were just high enough to make it a page turner but not too high as to create unnecessary stress. Even the plot point of Natalie’s stalker was handled with care and never felt unrealistic. A factor of this was the characters being in their late 30s, which I feel is underrepresented in popular romance.
Plus no third act breakup!! Don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy a good “get her back moment” but I think they are so often fueled by wanting forgiveness for a cruel act. Whereas this books big “wooing” moment was out of an effort to show her that she does want to get serious, instead of trying to make up for something.
All in all this steamy and slow burn celerity workplace romance is a must read. From the emotional maturity to the heart pumping award shows this book is a page turner. The soul-mate worthy match of Natalie and Taylor will have you in tears by the epilogue. If you like romances that have depth to them while also delivering on the spice then this book is for you. Happy reading!
Thank you so much to Rachel Lacey for the signed ARC copy. I actually cried when I received this in the mail, it means the world to me.

Update after audiobook listen narrated by Quinn Riley: 4.5 stars
I enjoyed it even more! I really appreciate the vulnerability Riley brought to Natalie's character. She also excels at the quieter, intimate moments. Love the Riley/Lacey combo!
Original review: 4 stars
Hollywood A-lister Natalie Keane's team gets creative when she needs additional security after a stalker from her past is released from prison. They want to distract from the release and keep Natalie safe without drawing attention to it. A female bodyguard seems ideal and unorthodox as it is, maybe she could even pose as Natalie's fake girlfriend. That way the focus can be on Natalie's "new relationship" and not on what has weighed so heavily on her for years.
Bodyguard to the stars Taylor Vaughn is anxious for a new assignment after recovering from a months-long back injury. While the offer of also posing as a fake girlfriend is quite unusual - she's always been very much behind the scenes as part of her work - her good looks and abilities could certainly make it believable. Especially after meeting Keane, when sparks fly between them. But she'd actually have to move into Keane's home to make it convincing and be with her 24/7. Surely she can keep it all very professional. She's always done so. Even though Natalie stirs things in her that Taylor can't deny.
I was very happy to learn that Eden Sands' bodyguard from Stars Collide, would get her own story. While we got a brief peek at Taylor then, she was intriguing enough to warrant more. Celeb romances are a favorite trope and add in a fake relationship? IN.
This book really highlighted the more frightening and frustrating aspects of celebrity and stardom. Specifically the fear of never feeling safe. Natalie Keane's character was quite heartbreaking. Very lonely, unable to trust. It was Taylor making her feel safe for once that finally helped her start breaking through and healing. I would have liked a bit more about Taylor, but loved the part about her parents and the insight on both characters that came with adopting a furry friend.
Bonus - nice cameo in the epilogue with Eden and Anna Moss.
Kittens !! I can’t resist when there are kittens involved in books ! Okay I will calm down, because of course, there are a lot of other good things in this book. Taylor is THE knight in a shining armor : thoughtful, understanding, steady, strong, protective. She is almost a living sapphic fantasy bodyguard in the book. I know there are one or two scenes that will make hearts swoons out there. Natalie has a lot of trauma, she lives in an almost reclusive way. It was painful to see her suffer and at the same time so sweet to see Taylor be there for her, reading her despite her best efforts to hide her feelings. I wonder almost until last minute how she would make peace with her demons. The intimacy slowly building between them felt right and delicate. To me, their chemistry was not a raging fire, but the love scenes, especially the first one (my favorite) because there was a lot of intimacy, honesty, and vulnerability. Sure, I love burning hot scenes, but realistic scenes with characters that communicate about what they like or not is sexy too. The stalker storyline adds some suspense and angst with the Damocles sword hanging over Nat's head. Lacey writes easy to read books with characters that you easily love and this one is no exception. I very strongly hope for a second chance novel focused on Noelle one day.
About the 40 percent mark, the author had me asking, “What? How? When did that happen?” These are not the questions the reader should be asking at that point in the story. What prompted me to ask these questions? It was when one of the characters said something along the lines of, “The chemistry between us was so strong, it was easy to see we were falling for each other.” Really? I wasn’t really seeing that at all.
I’m purposely being obtuse for dramatic effect, because the simple answer was that the pacing on the slow burn was… terrible. No matter how many times the author assured me in the dual, third person POV that chemistry and feelings were building, I just wasn’t buying it.
In Lacey’s defense, the bodyguard plot was well written, and I rather enjoyed the plotline of Natalie with the traumatic past, becoming less afraid with Taylor’s help. But that’s literally Taylor’s job as a bodyguard to a certain degree, and I didn’t understand how it was supposed to be the foundation of the romance.
4 Stars for Cover Story: Stars Collide, Book 2 (audiobook) by Rachel Lacey read by Quinn Riley.
This is a bodyguard to lovers romance. A famous actress needs extra protection since her former kidnapper is now being released from prison. She needs someone who can fly under the paparazzi radar. A woman that could pretend to be her girlfriend would be perfect. She could be there 24/7 guarding everything but her heart.
I enjoyed this book so much. Very readable. Great characters who definitely fit together. The story gave quite an insight into the unfortunately necessary reasons for celebraties’ security. Well worth a read. Won’t disappoint.
I am a sucker for celebrity fauxmances and this is an absolute gem.
In Cover Story, we meet Hollywood A-lister Natalie Keane and her unconventional bodyguard, Taylor Vaughn. Tasked with protecting Natalie from a resurfaced stalker, Taylor's role extends beyond traditional security measures, posing as Natalie's girlfriend to deflect media attention. The premise doesn't disappoint, unraveling into a narrative that explores the burdens of fame and the sanctuary found in unexpected connections.
I was surprised with the amount of depth in this book - mainly in regard to the portrayal of Natalie's vulnerability and Taylor's steadfastness, weaving a narrative that's as much about finding safety as it is about romance. Lacey crafts a world where the lines between professional and personal blur, leading to a slow-burn romance that's satisfyingly complex.
A great novel and I can't wait to read Stars Collide.
Many thanks to Netgalley and Montlake for a copy of this novel. ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.
I literally loved all the characters so much. I love Natalie with my whole heart.
I love me a nice celebrity romance.
It did move a little too quickly for my liking and it was a little random how they "suddenly" had feelings for each other.
I wish this book had been longer, so we could get more scenes of them really getting to know each other because I felt like that was missing. But that's a problem I have with pretty much every book I read, especially if I really enjoyed it. So I think that's on me.
Definitely excited to read more books by the author now!
literally "The Bodyguard" but with lesbians. Soooo good. Fake dating mixed with rescue romance. hot sex scenes that are trauma informed and include consent!!!!! lacey's best that i've read so far. there should be more lessie books that are based on 90s films tbh!!
Narrator cadence drove me a bit nuts at times. Shame because Riley’s voices are good. Also, goodness. If you find a tiny kitten in the woods, it’s yours! No, no one is coming forward to claim it. No, don’t try to make it leave, it will die! For a smart body guard… Wish relationship would have been a bit more developed initially between the mains.
This is by far my favorite book by Rachel Lacey and she has definitely become an automatic buy. The chemistry and attraction between Taylor and Natalie was instantaneous and hot. I loved the journey of Natalie healing from her past trauma. I'm just now getting into the bodyguard/celebrity trope and this one makes me want to read more. Also, I need Noelle’s story ASAP!
Thank you to Rachel Lacey and Net Galley for the arc for an honest review.
100% absolutely loved this book! Even a few chapters in I knew I’d love it. Didn’t have much doubt as I’ve loved her previous books. This story though, it had all the things, slow burn(but in the best way), spice, workplace romance, fake dating but also some depth, they both had some trauma to deal with in completely different ways. I think it was all well executed. Would definitely recommend this book!
I really enjoyed this celebrity, fake dating romance from Rachel Lacey. This takes place in the same world as her previous novel Stars Collide (May 2023), but can easily be read on its own. Natalie Keane is 40, and a celebrated Hollywood actress. Eight years ago she was stalked, kidnapped and held for most of a day. The perpetrator is being paroled and she wants to increase her personal security. In order to keep it quiet it is suggested that her extra guard pose as a girlfriend and live with her for the next few months. Enter Taylor Vaughn who is 37. She has been working in personal security since leaving the Army. She worked security for the MC in the previous book. She is recovering from back surgery but is fit to work with Natalie.
Natalie still has residual fear and trauma from her past experience. She can work, but all but shuts herself off behind the secure walls of her home most of the time. It is an adjustment even allowing Taylor to stay in her home. I like their easy friendship growing slowly. Throw in a couple of dogs and a kitten and I’m smitten. I connected to Natalie’s fears and Taylor’s careful reassurances. I like that the fake dating was for a real purpose and not for some silly plot point. I can’t think of another romance that I’ve read that included the Met Gala as part of the story. And Natalie’s passion for astronomy was a fun side interest that allows for a spectacular surprise gesture on a date.
There is really so much to love in this story. And while I liked and gave four stars to the first book in the series, I enjoyed this story and characters even more. Is it too much to hope that fellow actress Noelle Dara may get her own story. Fingers crossed. Thank you to NetGalley and Montlake for the ARC and I am leaving a voluntary review. (4.5 Stars)
First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude to the author for providing me with an ARC. Being selected to read this book before its official release is genuinely appreciated.
Weak plot, but good chemistry.
Unfortunately, the book did not appeal to me as much as I would like although I still did find the storytelling enjoyable. One significant drawback was the main plot's lack of coherence. Natalie's decision to hire a bodyguard and fake a relationship for the sake of diverting the press about Becker's release seemed implausible. The attempt to disguise the bodyguard's identity by changing her hair color to blonde felt outdated and unrealistic, particularly in the contemporary setting. The main plot of the story doesn't make any sense at all. I can understand the cover story, it is known that many people in the entertainment industry use something similar if not equal but the reason for it in this book made absolutely no sense to me. Honestly, I found myself skeptical. While this narrative might have been plausible in the 1950s, in today's era? Come on! You don't need to be a reporter to unveil Taylor's true identity. Even a curious teenager with ample free time could have unraveled Taylor's lineage in a matter of hours, particularly given Natalie's celebrity status.
The plot died for me there, but I liked the interaction between Natalie and Taylor enough to continue.
Then, we encounter our second significant issue which, once again, lacks coherence. Natalie claims her aversion to people stems from what Becker did to her, citing a constant state of fear and feeling like a caged animal reluctant to leave her house. However, her reality as an actress contradicts this portrayal. Natalie consistently engages with strangers on film sets, travels internationally for shoots, attends public award ceremonies, and even surrounds herself with a hair and makeup team at home.
Does that truly align with someone living in constant fear like a caged animal? The dissonance between her described fears and her actual lifestyle creates a glaring inconsistency. If Natalie genuinely felt like a caged animal, one wouldn't expect her to leave the house even for something as simple as a sunbath. I also don't understand why the author felt the need to explore so much Natalie's fear for Becker and not use it on either the general plot or Natalie's mental stability. To me, it all just felt like words she was saying and not acting accordingly unless when it suited her. Furthermore, I found Natalie's behavior in her narrative rather displeasing. Despite being identified as a 40-year-old actress, her actions and demeanor throughout the story suggested an age range more akin to someone between 17 and 23 years old. This is what happened because she didn't win the Oscar:
"Now she felt doomed on both fronts and she knew she was overly emotional right now. She knew it was irrational to draw any correlation between this loss and her relationship with Taylor but in this moment sitting empty handed in the audience Natalie was trapped in an increasingly dismal thought spiral"
Seriously, Natalie? I understand your disappointment over losing the Oscar, but how does that correlate with Taylor, really? You're forty years old! The notion that these thoughts even crossed your mind seems implausible; it's the sort of thing one would expect from a teenager, not a mature woman. And that takes us to the sex scenes. Sorry to say this, but one particular scene between Natalie and Taylor felt so juvenile that I laughed. I laughed while two women were having sex. There are numerous aspects in this book that fall short or seem unnecessary to the plot. The lack of character building is the main problem here, you dont see these people acting upon their or acting the way the narrative expresses. What I did enjoy about this story was the refreshing departure from the often overused third-act breakup trope in sapphic literature which added to my overall enjoyment of this book.
Approaching it with a lighthearted perspective might make the reading experience more enjoyable.
Cover Story by Rachel Lacey is beautiful opposites attract, fake relationship, romance, that made my heart happy. I enjoyed this book so much that I read it and then immediately listened to the audio. The fabulous Quinn Riley narrated the audio, and I can't tell you how much I’m enjoying the Lacey/Riley team. Riley also narrated Lacey’s Stars Collide and I hope she will narrate many more. Quinn elevated an already amazing story and made me love it even more. Natalie Keane is a famous Hollywood actress, but the fame that comes with doing what she loves makes her pay a steep price. Eight years ago, Natalie was stalked, and when the media got hold of the story, the frenzy that followed broke her as much as the stalker. Now there’s a new threat and Nat is ready to take all the precautions necessary. She just doesn’t want the press to get wind of it. Taylor Vaughn is a bodyguard to the stars. She is recovering from an injury that has left her stuck in the office for the past three months, so when the opportunity to work with Natalie Keane comes along, there’s no way she is going to say no. Even if part of the deal is to pose as Natalie’s girlfriend so the press is kept in the dark. It’s the perfect cover story, that is until it all starts to feel less like a story and more like reality. Lacey writes with such warmth and depth. She creates characters that I can’t help but love and stories that I want to read again and again. Cover Story is no different, it has Tension, chemistry, a gorgeous steamy romance, and two exquisite main characters. One of the things I love most about this story is that even though Nat and Taylor are very different, they are both dealing with something that makes them feel vulnerable. It’s those vulnerabilities that bring them closer together, but also throw obstacles in their way. Taylor is an open, friendly, caring, generous person. She protects with her body and heart, however, because of her past she wants the same in return. She doesn’t need her partner to protect her physically, she is more than capable of doing that herself. But she does require them to protect her heart. Nat, oh Nat. Natalie is broken, and this has caused her to be closed off. She has built walls around herself and at times can be downright frosty. She is a very private person and can’t bear letting anyone in yet, she has a public persona that ensures she looks strong, friendly, and put together. As usual with these frosty broken characters, she won my heart from the start, and I don’t want it back. The romance in this book is gentle but steamy. There is a beautiful tension that builds slowly as the characters get to know each other and when it snaps it is explosive. It’s clear from the start how perfect these two are for each other and I absolutely loved watching them realise it. There is also an important message throughout about self-care and mental wellbeing. Lacey does a brilliant job at conveying the importance of therapy and the fact that a person must be ready for that journey in order for it to work. I loved both the book and the audio, and it is one I’ll revisit, this is going to be one of those comfort reads for me. It’s got a great balance of all those things I love. Rachel Lacey is one of those authors who is an instant yes for me. I adore her writing and can’t wait to see what’s next. 5 stars from me Arc received from the author through NetGalley
