From childhood, to the military, to special forces, I learned never to put my faith in anyone but myself. Because if you don’t let anyone get close to you, then it’s less likely that someone can hurt you. Or betray you.
But life doesn’t always work out the way you want it to. Sometimes someone finds a crack in your armor. Despite your best efforts to protect yourself.
Now, the only two men to ever break down the walls I’ve built around myself have both managed to destroy me in completely different ways.
And as the world burns down around me, I can’t help but wonder…was it worth it?
I believe that love is love and it happens in a flash.
Whether it starts with action and adventure and adrenaline...or with just a glance across a crowded room. Happily ever after is never far away.

I loved this dramatic story as we got closer to the business end of this story and who was behind the dreadful events from earlier in the series. Scout was a great guy and determined to get to the bottom of the truth even if it broke his heart. I really could feel and empathise with Scout and Raptor when they were discussing or arguing about the responsibility for the events. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.
