Because if you don’t let anyone get close to you, then it’s less likely that someone can hurt you. Or betray you. But life doesn’t always work out the way you want it to. Sometimes someone finds a crack in your armour, despite your best efforts to protect yourself. Now, the only two men to ever break down the walls Scout had built around himself have managed to destroy him in completely different ways. And as the world burns down around him, he can’t help but wonder if it was worth it.
I loved this dramatic story as we got closer to the business end of this story and who was behind the dreadful events from earlier in the series. Scout was a great guy and determined to get to the bottom of the truth even if it broke his heart. I really could feel and empathise with Scout and Raptor when they were discussing or arguing about the responsibility for the events. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.
I loved this dramatic story as we got closer to the business end of this story and who was behind the dreadful events from earlier in the series. Scout was a great guy and determined to get to the bottom of the truth even if it broke his heart.
