That’s exactly why I don’t consider everyone family. Kamaria’s family minus her aunt was straight trash. Kyree and Kamaria meet when they both agree to keep each other company while their friends go and fck. Kyree ends ups liking Kamaria and become instant friends. Kamaria had so many snakes around her from “family” to “friends”. I loved Kamaria finding family with Kyrees family. His cousin was straight trash too. This was a cute friends to lovers story.

P.s every time I see her cousin it’s on sight 🤣

Kamaria and Kyree was an unexpected good time! I honestly didn't know what to expect reading about such young love, but baby, Miss Cion Lee delivered a hit! Kyree was big stepping behind Kamaria from the beginning and I loved every bit of it!

Kamaria is to herself and has been taught to blend in when she should stand out. She is about her education and not much else until she meets Kyree. Kyree convinces her to live it up her last semester of college and she really does just that.

The author did such a good job pulling me into this world. Kyree described Kamaria perfectly when he said she was really smart but also green. While she annoyed me a bit, I enjoyed her growth. The twists and turns did not disappoint and really helped bring the story together.

Campus Chronicles was a good story for me. The storyline and characters kept me swiping pages for more. I read this book in a matter of hours because I couldn’t put it down. Kyree and Kamaria met their senior year of college at the University of BR. They probably wouldn’t have crossed paths but thanks to Mari’s roommate the two were introduced. It was a rollercoaster for me because I could tell the characters liked each other, but they wanted to keep things platonic. Throughout the story, they showed up for each other in ways that made it hard for them to stay friends. Kyree was protective about Mari but he also helped her to live and experience things her senior year. She was sheltered and book smart, but was naive at times. And Mari helped Kyree realize he could be in a relationship and it would work. They brought balance to each other and that’s what I loved. Overall, the book moved quickly but it packed a punch and had a few plot twists that I didn’t see coming. Mari’s parents were awful, judgmental, and body shamed her every chance they could, especially her mom. Whew, that lady had my blood pressure rising!! Thankfully, Kyree continued to pour life into her because she could have easily slipped into a depression. SMH! My takeaway was that it’s never too late to live and love. Good work on this one!

I enjoyed this story so much, my only complaint was the typing errors. However, it didn’t take away from the story.

From the moment Kamaria and Kyree crossed paths I was drawn to their story and I wanted to see where it was going to go. Kyree brought out a different side to Kamaria, he helped her to have more confidence in herself and her body despite how her family especially her mother made her feel about it. Also, because of his popularity his friendship with her allowed her to be able to meet more people and have some girlfriends to hang out with. She never had this during her college experience but at least she was able to get it in her last semester. I liked how they formed a friendship first before they became more and although he was never in a serious relationship he wanted to try with her.

Something else I liked about the book was that even though it showed their relationship and the college life with parties and hanging out, it also focused on the academic life and how both of them were serious about their studies even with everything else they had going on. They had a lot of outside influences that tried to break what they were building but I was happy they were able to overcome those situations. Since she experienced a lot of firsts being with Kyree she was a little naive and he tried to school her but some lessons she needed to learn the hard way. Her cousin was straight up trash for what she tried to do to her and I was happy that it backfired on her and I was also happy with how Kyree handled that situation. I did not see any of the twists at the end coming but it all made sense once everything was out and at the end of it all. I liked how supportive Kyree's family were of Kamaria and their relationship from his cousins to his parents.

Overall I thought this was an enjoyable read, I liked the roles that all the side characters played in the book and I enjoyed watching the life that Kyree and Kamaria were building together.

Kamaria’s family was trash. Well, except for her Aunt. But everyone else… straight dumpster fire. Kamaria’s family situation is an unfortunate representation of the trauma bonds so many of us have with toxic and dysfunctional family dynamics. No matter how unhealthy family members are for us or how poorly they treat us, we still love them, keep relationships with them, still try to show them respect, and still crave a level of love and respect we will never receive from them. And that’s what Kamaria’s situation was… until bombs were dropped and painful secrets were revealed. Thankfully, Kamaria had Kyree, who was the epitome of a good and supportive partner/boyfriend. I loved the way he rode for Kamaria and always had her best interest at heart. I also loved how his family supported her too. The emotional maturity these college students exhibited showed a level of maturity that I appreciated. Kyree was definitely book bae.

I enjoyed the toned down toxic drama reflected in this book in comparison to this author’s other books. I love a book with some drama/angst, but not the excessive violent and degrading drama some of this author’s previous books entail. I enjoyed this story.

yessss

Man listen I literally was wishing this was a two part book just to ask to be wrote in so I can beat her cousin Ass. How you that jealous of your own family that you would bring that kind of harm her way then lie about it. I don’t like her or her auntie. The father can go to hell as well cause ain’t no way in hell he was supposed to let her belittle his child. If you going to step up you suppose to do it with love and an open heart. That baby was innocent and she took the hate she had for a situation she started out on that girl. Body shaming her trying to belittle her that’s not cool I was happy when she got knocked out. I love this book wish I could’ve gave it 10 stars

Kyree and Kamaria, Friends to Lovers

This is my 1st book by this author and I was NOT disappointed!!!…This was a very easy read and the storyline was fabulous!!!…I loved how easy Kyree and Kamaria fell into a friendship that they allowed to grow into a relationship!!!…
I love how smart and yet naive Kamarie was and how she blossomed as she allowed herself to experience some of the things college life offered and opened her up to new friendships and experiences!!!…

I loved how Kyree’s family stepped up for Kamaria and surrounded her and loved on her!!!…There is nothing like your own family, but when someone else loves you and makes you family, that’s a different feeling!!!…
I was happy that Auntie Sana let her know how she was conceived and told her about her biological mother!!!…
Katheline was so mean spirited and my heart broke for her because she lost more than she gained because of her hateful ways!!!…She should have projected all those ill feelings twd the man that cheated on her and brought home his outside child!!!…
Kaliya was really disturbed and she needed some serious mental health help!!!…To do what she did to Kamaria and act like it wasn’t a problem is crazy!!!…She chose her path and was upset at how her life was turning out!!!…

My only complaint with this book was the spelling errors but it was so good I looked over them bc aye one monkey don’t stop the show.

Kamaria was a senior at UBR that been in the book her whole four years so she was in the scene at all. That changed when she meet kyree thru her roommate that was trying to get play from his friend. And that what started it all!!!

Ky and Mari started off as friends even tho they both had deeper feelings for each other but Ky was worried since he doesn’t do relationships well he would mess with the one he really wants but he didn’t let his fear stop him from going after her! AND IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL THING

now Mari didn’t come from a loving home so she was native to a lot of things and knowing people good or bad intentions and boy did that lead her down a bad path that lead to her crazy cousin drugging her bc she was jealous. But I loved how patient with her and school her on the up and up

📚🎒🎉♥️

I liked Kamaria but at times she annoyed tf outta me. She was green to alot of things. Cool. But for someone that’s smart she damn sure ain’t see the fakeness with her cousin. She was so quick to defend mfers that ain’t do her no good & I ain’t like that. I guess she had the learn the hard way.
Kyree was overprotective but it was for the love of his green girlfriend. At first i’m like this yn is controlling but he had to be that way with her cause when she made her own decisions she always getting in some type of mess.

Now that mfing plot twist was tea 🐸☕️. It all make sense now. Katheline was a hater like frfr. She was getting on my last nerve. I’m not understanding how her husband put up with her for so many years. He’s a coward so I guess they perfect for eachother.

Overall this was a good read. Cion eats everytime.

Who needs enemies with a family like Kamaria's? All too often we hear about people treating you differently because of the color of your skin and for women our body types. Your mother should be the one to remind you to forget what everyone else says and love yourself instead she did the opposite and her father allowed it. I love the way Kyree loved her. His intentions were always pure. He truly loved her for who she was and encouraged her to embrace every thing that her mom taught her was a flaw. I don't think anyone could have predicted the ending. It definitely made things clear but not okay. Both of her parents had a choice and ultimately chose to be selfish.

Phenomenal Read 📚 👏🏾 ✨️❣️💯

This reading adventure was funny, sexy, sweet, warm and beautiful. The MCs were young, Kamaria was naive but they were strong old souls who were just made for each other. Their chemistry felt real and intimate and pure. Their individual backstories were dynamic and Mari's was complex enough for the entire book. The auxiliary characters were great...from funny/loving to the shady/villains. The village was full and complete. The sexy scenes were plentiful and spicy. These two were really feeling each other. I need an Essence and Rashad story...the friends and cousins can all get a book. Her parents were a dumpster fire but his were wonderful and supportive. Thoroughly enjoyed the MCs and their journey. This was a phenomenal read 📚 👏🏾 ✨️❣️💯

ANOTHER BANGER ‼️

If you don’t know who Ms. Cion Lee is, gurrrl where have you been??? She is talented, intelligent, gifted, and a whole list of things. So Campus Chronicles was no surprise another BANGER 🏆!!

The whole book is a vibe. A love story of an young lady who was brought into a world of trials. Amongst that journey she met a young man who seamlessly swept her off her feet. And bunch of other goodies mix in between.
Trials and tribulations be damn!! (I do not want to spoil anything)

In the end love prevails ❤️Just read it and you’ll know exactly what I’m saying in the truth.

Can’t wait till the next one Blessings

another one, thank you!

Okay, i loved this one. Kyree played no games when it came to Kamaria. He was a good man, and did everything he said he would do. I admired that he put his worries aside and made Kamaria his and did right by her from the beginning to the end. Kamaria was so green, that a lot of the issues they had really came from her naivety. Her family was dead wrong, but i’m glad she had someone like her aunt. Overall, i really enjoyed this book and can’t wait for another book from Cion.

okay

This book was okay. It really irked my soul to keep coming across, “you then” instead of you have or you done! Sheesh! Mari was worrisome and often stood in her own way of happiness. She kept having to learn things the hard way when she didn’t necessarily have to. Her so called “mom” was a whole B***h and the daddy is an even bigger one to inflict that pain on Kamaria. Kyree was a dang good man and I’m glad he stuck with Mari because she definitely needed a protector. He was everything she needed!

CION DONE DID IT AGAIN!!!

CION GIRL!!! I absolutely loved this book! It is top 5 for me out of your catalogue and I’ve read almost ALL of your books. Despite the drama, this was such a refreshing read. I loved how Kyree & Mari stayed down with each other and didn’t let anything too bad get in between them. There was no cheating nor other people so that was a humongous plus!!! I know i said it but it was soooo refreshing to read a story that didn’t involve cheating, breaking up , finding their way back to reach other, etc.

⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was just the right read I needed. Not too angsty, but not hallmark vibe read either. A perfect mix of hood, slight drama, and sweet young love.

Kyree grew a pair quickly, which kept the drama between he and Kamaria down. Because with her sheltered/ naïve thoughts- they would’ve crashed and burned if he wasn’t more mature.

Kaiyla deserved the very worst. Along with Kamaria’s parentals.

I loved Kyree’s circle. His friends, family. They sound like a good time.

Also- I loved parts of the story took place in my favorite city. Nawlins⚜️

a Break from toxic love

Cion is one of the best when it comes to Black Love! Her stories put you right there with the characters. This was such a breath of fresh air. Kyree and Kamaria are adorable and the way Kyree protected Kamaria from the very beginning made me swoon. I still am here for all the drama, but every once in a while a well written vanilla love story hits the spot. I love this couple and this story was well worth the wait.

All the Feels

Cion doesn’t miss. I can always count on her books to give me all the feels with just the right amount of drama. I’ve been waiting on this release since she gave us a sneak peek in her facebook group. I must say it was worth the wait. Kamaria and Kyree’s story was entertaining. I love reading Cion’s books because she’s gives us an authentic take on New Orleans culture. I’m patiently waiting on her next work of art.

Young love hit different💗

I really really enjoyed this book. Young love just hits so different. Kamaria and Kyree had an amazing journey and I was here for it all. I think I found my favorite book bae for real this time😂. Kyree stood 10 toes down from the moment he committed to Kamaria. I love this author and she is always amazing crafting the stories. This book was heavy on love💗, laughs 😂and little ratchet too. Whew!!!

For almost two years my sister has been telling me about this author’s work and how I should read it… boy I hate it took so long! This was my first read from Ms. Lee and baby, it did not disappoint!!! That bomb close to the end wasn’t what I expected but it brought light to everything.
I loved the end and too bad this is a standalone because I wouldn’t mind having an update on the whole crew.
I loved everything about this book.

College Life?

Wow! This was a whopper of a story. Kyree and Kamaria were such a power couple. They lived for and loved each other. I admire Kyree as he was the real one. He and his friends were cooler than cool. Never got closure on the roommates of Kamaria though. There is a whole lot of family drama on the part of Kamaria but Kyree held her down. He never left her side no matter what. This was well written and I throughly enjoyed reading it.

Happy Reading‼️

I enjoyed this!

I was suspect about a few people from the jump. I almost thought Kyree was going to play Kamaria when she ran into his group at school. Glad I was wrong. Kamaria cousin needs to be dragged every time they see her. I wanted to fight her dad tho. He was such a coward and 50,000 isn't enough for what he allowed her to go through. Kyree said he would take care of Kamaria and he did. They may have had moments but they had each others back. Great job!

College sweethearts

Sometimes the best relationships start out as great friendships and that was proven with Kamaria and Kyree. The chemistry between the two was built so well.from.beginning to end. A few bumps and bruises along the way because what's a good story without a little drama? It wouldn't be lol. I love the dedication and protectiveness of Nurse and they loyalty of Kamaria

Campus Chronicles

This was soooo good!! This stand-alone was prime examples of opposites attract. Kamaria, shy, introvert BBW and Kyree the popular Party boy on campus were a force together. This story had a little of everything….. black love, drama , and secrets. Kathline and Lionel were cowards all the way around and wanted Karma to visit them and Kaylin so bad!!!!
Great Job Cion, heading to her catalog next.

This was a decent read but MAN! The family drama was crazy! I understand family be tripping most times for some, but Kamaria's family was on another level of insanity. My heart went out to her sometimes but other times I was looking at her sideways. I get that she was a bit naive about things due to her sheltered upbringing but Kamaria also made some stupid decisions that she was smart enough to know weren't in her best interest. Overall, the storyline was good.

I give it 4.1 Stars.

Very Good!

This was my first read from Cion Lee but it won’t be the last. I love a good young adult love story and this one was full of storylines that held my interest. I love the connection between Kyree and Mari. His love and desire for her genuine and evident through his actions.

One of my favorite book tropes is friends to lovers and I throughly enjoyed this read!

PS: I wouldn’t mind getting a book on Shad and Essence…

Kyree Kyree Kyree

1st off another banger. Kyree has been added to my book bae list for sure. Loved how he helped to get Kamaria out of her shell. Her momma was to trifling for me and that cousin could not stand her. Her father should’ve stood ten toes down for her but it’s his lost for sure.
