Im not the biggest advocate for haikus since they are too short, some of these haikus are profound, but for the most part the translation feels uneven and unnatural at times, such as the word froglings in place for young frogs. I would even be in favor of not using the correct amount of syllables, so that the translation could be better..-yes, such a suggestion borders on sacrilege, but even such a sin would permissible if the translation improved.
