Livy’s life is a mess. She needs a new job and a better place to live, but she definitely doesn’t need a man because experience has proved they simply can’t be trusted. And since her years as a pony mad kid ended in heartbreak, she believes she’s firmly closed the door on her love of horses.
But life has a funny way of making you question what you think you want. When she discovers a neglected Arabian horse in a paddock near her flat, her passion for horses is rekindled, and she dreams of riding once again. Her colleague, Simon, offers her a lift to work, and what starts out as a relationship of convenience has some surprising consequences. When the beautiful Arabian horse disappears, Livy embarks on a journey to find him and, in the process, begins to rediscover what she truly wants out of life.
Does she have the courage to break out of the rut she’s fallen into and pursue a new dream? And what of love? Can she ever learn to trust again?

Despite the number of books I’ve read and subsequently reviewed, I have never come across a book that really, truly left me glued to the pages. Until now. Clear To The Last is a very enjoyable equestrian book with romance thrown in, too. I’ve reviewed several of Ms Roman’s books and I’ve noticed a definite evolvement in her writing style over the months. The narrative in this particular story is so much tighter and no, that’s not anything to do with the love match contained within!
That is not to say that her previous stories are lacking, oh no, it just means, the reader can get so much more from the author’s prose each time she publishes. Even when there is conflict, or tension between the characters, there is still a sense of ease floating around throughout its pages. It’s that which makes it so unputabledown.
Even if horses are not your thing, don’t ever discount this author’s books; they are also romance novels with plenty of excitement to be had.
I loved the plot and characters. The horse is my dream horse too, so this sweetened the deal! The middle of the plot went on a bit, with the expected outcome. But the end was a surprise and I wish it went on a bit more. I’m hoping for another installment!
The story is filled with love, drama, horsemanship…you name it, it’s here. Once you get started, it’s tough to leave the characters who are real people in the horse world. Read the book!
Most interesting if you’re knowledgeable about horses
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. However, I have a pretty good background in horses, riding and training and understood the terms without any problem. Novices will probably find it a bit confusing.
I needed a relaxing read while recovering from surgery and this was just what the doctor ordered. Serious but lighthearted, the equestrian scenes weave seamlessly in this horse girl meets horse boy story. I look forward to the next book in the series.
wonderful story with well-described characters that you easily come to like and the scenes are well-written and vivid. Has my recommendation as good entertainment with many facets
So enjoyed reading this book. Absolutely no downsides to this story or the characters. So well-developed. Found it hard to put down. Can't wait to read Book 2.
