I was so looking forward to Nadia's story, as the ending of Disruption left me heartbroken and yearning for more! I felt for Nadia as her grief began to overtake her life. If it weren't for her children, she may not survive this. Now, lil King is what almost pushed me over the edge! That young man is so smart, and in tune with people and his emotions to be so young. Reading about him pushing through his grief to be there for his mom and sister, was almost unbearable. 💔

I don't know how to feel about Delorean. I understand he had some ish going on, but the way he left Nadia was foul. No note, or message through a friend, nothing! When Nadia bumps into him, she didn't have the fire and anger that one would think she should, after how she was treated by this man! She said that he left her broken, but she seemed to just fall into a groove with him, because he was familiar. I didn't feel a genuine connection between them.

I loved how therapy was displayed, the time and effort Mr. and Mrs. Locue put into helping heal Nadia and lil King. Delorean's boy Pierre, why didn't he tell him about the bounty? It's like he left his boy out to dry! 🤬 When it was time for Nadia to fess up about her relationship with Delorean, I was expecting a heart to heart, or a bit of push back with Chozyn. The way Chozyn was so close to her brother, I thought Nadia would have spent a little time and talk to her about Delorean. Tell her how she was feeling, let her know that she was ready to move on, and why she kept him a secret.

I'm happy to see the Brown family on the mend and finding happiness again. Now, Boss done gone and messed up his good thang! Will RaQuel really leave? I knew this read would be different, due to the subject matter that needed to be discussed and resolved. However, the story just didn't pull me in, and have me invested in it like I had hoped.

Get your tissue ready!

This was a hard read and a slow burn, but there’s no time frame for healing. I felt like I went through the fire with Nadia coming out scorched and burned not ready to move on. My heart hurt for her journey to be strong and put on a brave face, but to read how she put her life back together with purpose and intent gaining confidence releasing the weight of hurt and guilt at her pace, was beautiful to experience. Nadia found her release through words and it was the catalyst to the acceptance of her new normal to find peace and balance.

This story showed the sadness and joy love can bring and I love how the author didn’t rush either process, normalizing everyday living and allowing the characters to be there for each other implementing life skills necessary in order to survive another day. King, Legacy, Chozyn, Ra’Quel, and Boss were a family and protected each other as such leaving an Imprint On My Soul. This book for me was an eye opening healing journey we seldom get in stories and it gave the right amount of closure displaying love is never lost, can be found again, it’s ok to love someone new, gone doesn’t mean forgotten and that a heart has no limits or bounds in the amount of love it hold close.

Well done!
Ps…I still don’t like Delorean, I don’t care how nice he is 🤣🤣🤣

When you are a King, you leave an imprint!

Even though King is no longer with his Queen (Nadia), he has left an amazing imprint on her, their children, family and friends. He was the epitome of what a real man look like. He set the standards high for what or who may come along after him.
It’s my personal opinion; I don’t like that Nadia moved on after 2 years; however, it is very real life and I’m happy that it’s with someone who loves and adorns her and has a blossoming relationship with her children. It’s even better that she had the support of her family and friends while transitioning into another stage of life.
Chozyn is such a sweetheart! Her and Legacy are so cute together.
Pierre is the best friend everyone should have. He’s friend goals for real!
Even though the book is heavy emotional, I loved how you’re able to see the twist within the book for better days and a brighter side of life!

The Imprint of Healing and Loving Again

This series deserves more than 5 STARS!!!…This book was a healing for anyone that has loved and lost!!!…Allowing yourself to heal one moment at a time is a way for the light to overshadow all the darkness that seems to keep our heart and mind in a vice grip!!!…We put on a mask for others while in the confines of our own place, we are in pieces!!!…Praying and hoping that it’s a dream that you will soon wake from, while knowing it’s our reality and we must face it!!!…
We search for reasoning when there is none and fear the new and unknown!!!…
I love how this family and friends tried to be there, even while trying to heal themselves!!!…
Nadia was the epitome of strength and love!!!…King knew his absence would halt her and I love that he loves her enough to tell her to release him, but know that she will always love him and remember him!!!…

It took me the entire month of August to finish this book. Not because it wasn’t good, it’s actually my favorite read from this author to date. It took me so long because I felt like I was grieving right along with Nadia and them. The way Aja wrote the grief everyone experienced was so vivid I spent most of the book crying. I appreciated how real her portrayal of grief and the grieving process overall was. Even though again, she had me crying. King setting things up for his family was such a good addition because man did he love him some Nadia and Lil King. I normally don’t like things like that but it felt so right. Nadia finding healing through her words and then the way she introduced Deloreon was *chefs kiss*. Watching her struggle with moving on romantically and seeing how much Deloreon cared and his patience really made me love this book. I will say some of the dialogue was a bit unrealistic to me. Sometimes I just want characters to make it plain, so that’s very much a personal preference. Overall this was a 4.5 for me.

Thank you Aja for my ARC and for sharing this story. You did your big one!!!

Emotional pieces

This book like the last had me truly in my feelings. I felt their pain, heartache, love and hope for the future. I'm guessing there is another coming based on the last chapter.

Also, the playlist from Disruption A Forbidden Love Story followed me thru this story.

Loved this series

I absolutely LOVE part 2 of the Disruption series. This series will surface a world wind of emotions. After losing her husband, the book indulges into the healing process of Nadia and raising her children alone.

There’s not time frame on grief. This book shows the highs and lows of the healing process and how parents can oftentimes overlook issues within their children while stuff in the own grief.

Finding love again can be difficult when your heart is attached to someone else. Im happy that she was able to recovery from such a tragic loss

The author did an amazing job showing readers how grief affects children. The therapy sessions were beautifully written. I appreciate how the main character knew that she needed to seek help for both herself and the children.

Nadia My Nadia

Urban fiction can be told in many ways and I love that this author normalized things like healthy skin care, Nadia’s journey of grief, processing trauma, finding love again after loss, etc and CHURCH. I loved this book. Make sure y’all read the book before this one to read about Big King too.

Way to go Aja!
